Busted pipe replaced
Description of Work: We developed a leak in the ceiling over our kitchen. The first tech to come out was nice, but too big to get into the attic to find the leak. $29.95 for the visit. He was kind enough to call a water mitigation company, however, and that tech did end up finding the leak. It was a line to our ice maker. A second tech came out later, to supposedly replace the line, but when he got there, said he didn’t have the equipment to replace the line, but we turned it off at the water heater. Another $29.95. A third tech came out the next day, and said it would cost $970 to repair, or $1,500 to replace, and it would take 5-6 hours. I ended up calling another plumber for an estimate, a solo plumber. He charged me only $300, and it was done within an hour. We’ve used Red Cap before, and I don’t want to speak badly about the techs, but the company is ridiculously overpriced. I even had another large, local plumbing company give me a 3rd estimate, and they only wanted $400. If you hate your money, call Red Cap. They’re sure to help.

PLUMBER ARRIVED WITHIN HOURS OF MY CALL AND WAS POLITE AND FRIENDLY. THE PROBLEM WAS FIXED QUICKLY AND EFFECTIVELY AND THE PLUMBER ALSO VOLUNTARILY CHECKED OUR WATER HEATER AND OTHER ASPECTS OF THE SYSTEM. THERE WERE SOME MINOR DISPUTES OVER CHARGES. A ''FREE'' ESTIMATE TURNED OUT TO INCLUDE A $20 TRAVEL CHARGE AND I HAD TO AGREE TO A $65 DIAGNOSIS CHARGE TO GET HIM JUST TO LOOK INSIDE THE FAUCET FOR THE PROBLEM. THE PLUMBER ALSO INITIALLY WAS NOT GOING TO HONOR THE ANGIES LIST COUPON, THOUGH HE EVENTUALLY DID. HOWEVER, DESPITE DISAGREEMENTS, THE FINAL PRICE WAS REASONABLE.
Description of Work: WE HAD ALMOST NON-EXISTENT WATER PRESSURE IN BATHROOM BATH/SHOWER. THE PLUMBER FLUSHED OUT THE FILTER AND THE BATHROOM PIPES AND THE PRESSURE RETURNED TO NORMAL.

THE APPOINTMENT WAS FOR THE AFTERNOON BUT THE OFFICE CALLED THAT MORNING TO SAY THEY COULD COME OUT SOONER. JOSH CAME ABOUT 11:30 AM AND ASSESSED WHAT PARTS & EQUIPMENT WERE NEEDED. RETURNED WITH THE WATER HEATER & WORKED STRAIGHT THROUGH, COMPLETING ALL WORK BY 3:00 PM. VERY POLITE AND COURTEOUS.
Description of Work: THE BATHROOM SINK DRAINED SLOWLY. JOSH SNAKED IT AND NOW IT WORKS FINE. THE WATER HEATER WAS ALSO REPLACED AND UPGRADED TO A 50 GALLON TANK. ALL NEW FITTINGS AND SHUTOFF VALVE INSTALLED AND RECONNECTED TO THE TIMER.
