Red Cap Plumbing Air and Electrical

They told me that I had mold in my home. I had a friend who worked for another company, they came out and said there was no mold. There was still a leak. They sent out another person to replace a valve but it did not seem that it was done. After a 3rd time and $450 later, the leak has stopped and they installed a new valve.

I chose this company because of all the outstanding comments about them and the good grades that they received on Angie's List. He came to my house and got right to work. I thought that the price was reasonable.

He came out and discovered the actual problem. He found out that it wasn't actually a pipe leak, he found that it was a problem in my tiles. He charged me a fee to come out and give the estimate. He was friendly and on time. My only complaint was that it was expensive.

They came out and gave us a pretty fair estimate. Everyone was very professional. They got everything done in the amount of time that they thought they should have it done. We had to have them adjust the body sprays in the shower and they did that for us with no complaints.

I have a well for irrigation and the county requires a backflow prevention device connected between the water service from the street and the house. It is very close to the neighbor's driveway and the community does not allow any type of cover or protection for the device. It is exposed to possible damage. In this case a visitor backing out of the driveway ran into in and broke it off. The visitor told the neighbor what had happened and my helpful neighbor was already working on turning off the water supply from the county when his wife told me what happened. This occurred early evening. I called the original installer of the device for emergency service to restore our water and reinstall the device but no plumber was available so I did an Angie's List search and was impressed by the user comments on Red Cap Plumbing. I called them and within the hour a plumber was at my door to start work. That evening he reconnected the water supply so we would not be without water that night and said the company would call me the next day to arrange for the back flow device to be reinstalled. The next morning the actual plumber came back out without the company calling to set up an appointment and he completed the work. He was able to move the device a bit farther away from the driveway to make it harder to run over the next time. I do not know the amount of time he spent the next day reinstalling the device but he had the water at least flowing on the first service call within an hour of arrival. The plumber (Paul) was very pleasant and professional. He responded quickly and did a very good job and the reinstallation looks well done. I had turned off the water at the house to avoid the water heater from emptying, etc and when he had finished his emergency repair he tried to turn the water on at an outside spigot before he found the main water turn off valve at another location on the outside wall. Unfortunately he forgot to turn off the water at the original spigot on a dark side of the house. About an hour or two after he left I was in the bathroom near that outside spigot and I heard water running and then found that the spigot had been left open and the ground was soggy on that side of the house from the water flow. I do not know how many gallons of water were lost. I know this was not intentional but the water lost will be on my next bill. That was the only problem with the service call. Fortunately I have not needed any plumbing service calls on our 10 year old home before except for the original installation of the backflow device 3 years ago. However the cost for the two plumber visits to get water going again that night and then to reinstall the original device was more than the $425 cost to install the backflow device in the first place and does seem excessive. Thankfully the visitor who did the damage paid the full cost and I am only out the price of the water lost by damage and due to plumber oversight as above.

I called Red Cap at dinner time, the answering service was very professional and thorough. Chris called me back within five minutes and gave me a complete run down on prices and the company's service agreement. Based on what I told him, Chris advised me that I was probably going to be spending the $29.95 service call charge plus $166.00 to snake the line. Chris explained that buying the service agreement would save me 15% on all services, give my calls priority and waive service call fees. I asked him to come as soon as possible. Chris called as he left the job he was on and came out, cleared the line without snaking and only charged me $29.95! That to me shows skill and integrity. He was very pleasant and cleaned up as he worked.

It went well. Everything is working right, so I can't complain. They showed up on time and worked really hard. They were very polite and courteous with me.

He arrived on time to do the services. He was very professional while he was working. He was personable. I would use him in the future. I thought his price was a little bit high.

They were very punctual, professional and efficient in their work habits. They cleaned up all of the debris. We would recommend them to anyone who needs a great plumber.

Like a charm. It took about 3 1/2 hours. Josh arrived on time and immediately assessed the need of the job. He worked steadily and did the job efficiently and throughly. He suggested my ancient plumbing (some original from 1925) be replaced, and gave me an estimate for that future work.

Paul the technician showed up right on time and put on paper boots before he entered the house to make sure he kept my floors clean. Within the first 10-15 minutes he determined the problem and told me exactly what it would cost to fix it. He got right to work and had my pipes running smoothly again. Very courteous and professional. He honored my coupon for $30 or the work would have cost me $155.

Paul came at the appointed time, gave us an estimate of the cost to have the work we wanted done, negotiated a price with us, then proceeded to give us thorough professional service. He was here for almost 3 hours and worked efficiently on doing the work we asked him to do. Besides, we have a one-year warranty on parts and labor, so we feel we have gotten what we wanted.

Arrived on time, worked quickly, everything looks and works well.

Eddy was professional and quickly fixed the problem (1/2 hour). I question the charge of $165. I did not request an estimate, which is my fault, but this was a simple repair that should not cost $165. That works out to $330 per hour! I have used this company before and was satisfied with the work and charges then. This company is very good, but make sure you get an estimate before hand.

I had an after 5 pm water heater breakdown. They came right then. Installed it in a flash. Checked that I was happy with everything. Very prompt and professional.

Red Cap Plumbing had a plumber out the same day I called. He was very friendly and professional. He did the work that day. Took about 4 hours. Very tricky PVC pipe connections that had to be replaced in the crawl space. Unfortunately, there was a leak at the very same spot the next day. Called Red Cap Plumbing and they had the plumber come out the same day. He ended up having to do the job completely over. He thinks he may have twisted the pipe too much to make all of the connections the first time. He was still very friendly and professional. So far, no more leaks. Even though the job had to be performed twice, I am pleased overall.

Red Cap promised same day service and gave me a 3-5 pm service window. At 2 pm, they called and said the technician was on his way. However, I was 28 miles from home and said it would take me 45 minutes to reach home. When I arrived home approximately 1 hour later, Josh was patiently waiting in his truck. He was professional, even putting booties on his shoes, diagnosed the problem quickly, and solved the problem.

I called that morning and they came out the same day. They were very good and they unclogged my toilet!

I feel his prices were ridiculously high.

Red Cap was able to arrange a same-day appointment, and called ahead to let me know prior to the rep's arrival. Marc arrived within the agreed upon time frame. He was knowledgeable, efficient, and pleasant to deal with. He checked the system, explained the problem, and resolved it. I was very pleased with the experience, and will call Red Cap again if I have a plumbing problem. Total time on site: 30-45 minutes.

At first the guy that was sent out said there must be underground leaks and whole house has to be re-plumbed. When I asked why he didn't check to see if there was just a leak from the water line and the outside of the home, he didn't know? I asked them to come back out and do that and since this was to be an investor home sale, we wouldn't be replacing the system, come back and just stop the inside leaks. The second guy came out and said no you don't need whole home replacement and he didn't see any underground leaks and just fixed what had to be done to stop the leaking.
