Red Cap Plumbing Air and Electrical

The leak was somewhere else and they convinced me I had a lousy garbage disposal. We upgraded mu disposal. I had a leak under the kitchen sink from the way the pipes were put in, that's what happened. I now have a contract with them. They're my plumber on record. They were prompt and efficient. The guy was honest, he says, well you can do this and he gave me good advise. I don't know how to compare them but I was happy.

It went well. I like the lady who answered their phone. She has a great phone voice and was very helpful. We set up a time for same day service, 4 PM to 6 PM window. She called earlier than 4 PM and said he was on his way, so I jumped in my car and drove 25 minutes over to the rental house that had the wet floor / wall problem. I had earlier determined that it was a 95% chance of not being from rain water. So that left drinking water or waste water. Either way I wanted a plumber to help tear into the walls, etc. to determine what was at fault and if he could fix it to do that. As it turned out it was waste water. Water from the shower head splattering off ones back and onto the shower wall, going down the wall and in through a broken seem at the wall /tub (no new caulking had been done there) and behind the tub and then spreading out. He had to tear into two walls and open up an access panel in the crawl space before he could see the uncontrolled dripping from running the shower. So in the end, there was no plumbing to be fixed. I will make access panels to cover the inside bedroom walls and clean and silicone caulk the tub/wall seam.

This was the third plumber we had look at our constantly clogging pipes and the first who genuinely wanted to solve the problem. They came out the same day and cleared the line, but their "scope guy" was running late (about an hour and a half). We found out our main line had collapsed and was growing roots about 6" wide. They came out the next day with a crew and replaced the entire line before we got home. They were very professional and we'd use them again, but their crew left a huge mess in our backyard to clean up afterwards (i.e. piles of dirt all in the driveway and on pavers that could have been easily blown or swept away, landscaping bricks dislocated, roots left in the yard, etc.). They were also on the pricier side, I assume because they knew we were in a jam and needed to flush our toilets asap.

The company was super professional when I called and beyond timely - they were the only company to come out that evening the shower wasn't working. However, the quote was pretty steep (they would have to blow out a wall and fix the entire plumbing) so we got another opinion. I am glad we did. Another plumbing company came the next day, fixed the shower head pipe for about $150 and went on his way. No wall destruction needed. I'm going to choose to presume it was lack of knowledge rather than malicious intent, so my review is a "C".

Work was done very well and quickly, Technician, Mike, was super nice

Very Smoothly. They removed the water heater from an interior closet, re-routed the plumbing and electrical supply to the garage and installed the new unit in the garage. I was thinking this would be a very complicated job that spanned several days. This took about 5 hours. The workers Dan, Tim, Curtis, and Jake did the work. All were excellent. Top notch. I highly recommend them. The price was steep, but you get what you pay for.

We have used Red Cap Plumbing in the past so thought to call them again. We had an old estimate, they honored it!! We changed our bathroom vanity from single to double (existing pipes in the wall never used and were capped). Very professional (calling to confirm appointment and keeping us informed of the estimate time of arrival) prompt for the estimate and wearing the booties. They came to start the job site on time were almost done until we needed an uncommon part to complete the job. Ordered the part, as soon as it comes in will reschedule the job completion. Also the wall side of the pipes never used they cut the wood in the vanity and wall and did a great job so it did not look like a messy job to extend the pipes. Did not even ask for the remaining funds until the job is done. It is so nice to see people really care about what they do! Will use them again when we purchase our old/new home!

They showed me what they were doing every step of the way, very clean when they had to walk through my house. They always told me when the technicians were on the way I knew what was going on from beginning to end. For the amount of work they did the price was EXTREMELY reasonable. Just a great company to work with I will use them for every plumbing problem I have and I would highly recommend them to anyone. As an added bonus they played music outside while working and I love their music choice.

We've used Red Cap before and they handled our previous problems amazingly. We had a toilet break. Not the insides - a candle from a shelf fell and broke the actual bowl. Michael from Red Cap came out and offered several options at various price points, installed our choice quickly and well, and cleaned everything up perfectly. He did this while being exceedingly professional and a nice guy. This has been our experience with each of the professionals we've had come out from them. We wouldn't call anyone else for our plumbing needs.

The prices he quoted me were so unbelievably high that I didn’t end up using him

We are very pleased and thankful to have such an efficient company to complete our plumbing needs. Ricardo came out to check what needed to be done, and gave us the estimate, which was promptly agreed upon. Then Michael came out on the assigned date to complete the work. Both men were very nice and very professional. All the work was completed promptly to our satisfaction. We are very happy and thankful to have such a reliable plumbing company to do all the plumbing in our old house. Yes, we will definately give Red Cap Plumbing a call whenever we have a problem.

Nick went above and beyond in diagnosing our problem and trying to find the least expensive way to fix our backed-up drains. He explained his progress every step of the way, and even though we had to use the more expensive process of removing the toilet, the price was reasonable (especially because I was a club member). I also appreciated Nick's consideration in using shoe covers every time he entered the house. The plumbing adviser, Bill, who performed the camera inspection, also did a thorough and professional job and showed me the build-up in our drain lines. He also gave me recommendations and quotes for cleaning out our drains. I will definitely call Red Cap again for our future plumbing needs!

At 7am, I was told a plumber would arrive at 10am. I called shortly after 10am and was told the plumber's previous job was taking longer than expected and he would instead arrive between 2-5pm. At 4:45 I called a third time and was told the plumber was still busy but that he would be there probably before 6pm. He did arrive at 6pm. He could not fix the problem because it required replacing the bathtub but he gave me a quote to come back another time to do the job. Although it was frustrating to wait 8 hours longer than I was told, the technician was friendly and professional and helpful when he did finally get there. I will give Red Cap Plumbing another try and hope they are able to arrive as scheduled next time. The office staff was very friendly and helpful on the phone.

I've had them before and they have always been prompt and they do a very good job. They clean things up and they are just very good people.

They were very efficient with replacing the line and kept the surrounding area from getting damaged as they worked. The job went fast and the guys were very courteous and kept me posted on what they were doing.

The tech was super knowledgeable and nice. He tested my water sources and diagnosed the problem right away. I had called another plumber and appliance repair company first who were both confused. He was very efficient and came back right away to install a new unit. I will call them for all my plumbing needs going forward.

Someone had turned our water heater off so when we returned home the water had a bad odor. Red Cap Plumbing came out free of charge a day after the warranty had expired. I really appreciated the fact that they were willing to do this. I would highly recommend their service. We were in the process of selling the home and had a possible buyer. During the same visit I asked James if he would write up a quote for additional plumbing that the house needed. James took the time to walk through and write up all work that needed to be completed. He also called his boss trying to get the best price possible for our buyers.

The gentleman that came out was very nice and professional. He explained everything to me but since I have been getting chemo treatments I wasn't really thinking and was sucked into buying one year contract that included someone coming out and going through the drain with a camera to make sure everything was done correctly and we wouldn't have any more issues. It also include a home plumbing evaluation (that never took place) that was going to be done by the tech that came out the first time. While he was on the inside of the house the other tech would be doing the camera work. This was scheduled out about three weeks after the first visit. The more I thought about it and the better I felt I knew this was just a way to come out and up sell you. So the tech never came in and did the outside but the camera tech came with another tech and next thing you know their boss was onsite. So they call me outside to look at the camera and tell me I still have issues 64 feet in (toilet paper hung up). My question was well didn't your guy do his job when he was out here. The answer was it only opens up a hole to get things moving. Next comes will write up some options. As they started to go over the options the first one was $3500.00 the next was like $2,500.00 and the last was a quick power wash of the drain for $1,200. I said there is no way I'm doing any of those for that kind of money. They did drop the $1,200 price to $679.00. I told them that I would get other quotes. I called Roto Rooter who had done the same work for me about 8 years ago. Within three hours the roto rooter tech was onsite with his camera and said it doesn't look that bad. I told him 64 feet in he would see the issue. Sure enough he sees the hang up. He tells me to go in and turn on the shower, sink and flush the toilet in the back bathroom. Sure enough the toilet paper came out...WHO WOULD HAVE THOUGHT IT. He said he could do the power wash ($679 by red cap) for $300.00. They can keep that useless contract they gave me and stick it where the sun doesn't shine. I would never use them again.

I've used them before because my toilets were overflowing right after I redid my bedroom seven years ago. They came out and they had to redo both my toilets. They were very good. They're very clean. They were very responsible and they came out right away. My interaction with them was very good. The work turned out fine. I've been using them for over seven years and I've not had any problem. If I had a problem, I wouldn't call them back. Their prices are very reasonable. It's comparable to other companies.

A two man crew came out and the service went well.

The dispatcher gave Carl the wrong info it was a bathroom not kitchen and a wrong address. She gave us 4 PM arrival and he said and called and corrected the time of arrival to 7 PM I think that anyone using them should ask for Carl Mirabile what a professional!~!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The price is a little pricey but the quality is worth it.

Shower wasn't draining properly so I called Red Cap about their special on Angies List. Angies List should be updated to specifically say that the $99 special for snaking and sending a camera down cannot start inside the house but from the outside cleanout drain. Either way, Junior (JR) was sent out and he snaked my shower. All Red Cap plumbers should be as well-mannered and articulate as JR. All Plumbers, not just the ones from Red Cap. He was very confident in his assessment of the problem and snaked the drain. Will wait a few days to make sure it does not backup again. Although it was NOT slow to drain this morning.

I'm still waiting for them to settle my account after 4 months. The total cost was about $6,000. The down-payment was about $2,000, leaving $4k to be paid at completion. After completion, they then charged my account the full $6k. Within a few days this was corrected, and that was tolerable, but that was not the only issue. They still owe me for some money related to my vanity area. They ruined my flooring in my house, sent out dryers right away. Roger said he would give me a letter of understanding and we would wait to see how the floors looked after 6 months. I told him the laminate flooring will not recover. Rather than telling them they had to replace the entire great-room , I offered them an option which would cost them less, that is, to replace the flooring in a bedroom and use that old flooring to repair the great-room - I might come to regret my kindness, I'm not sure yet. We did finally get a contractor to do the repair work, but no follow-up from Red Cap at all - I'm shocked at the lack of follow-up from Red Cap. I think if all goes well with a project, then they look good, but I'm guessing when there is a problem, they do not resolve it quickly, and it can be a frustrating experience. I have been following up with him now for almost 2 months for some money that he still owes me. Last time I talked with him he said he'd been in training for a few weeks and apologized for not getting back to me. He understood about the money he still owes me and said he would call me back later that day... that was 2 weeks ago. Calls and emails have gotten me no where. If it were my company, I'd care that my customers were happy, but they seem to just avoid me. I'm not sure if this repair is going to be satisfactory. He still owes me some money. I'm not done monitoring this situation. This is the last time me or my organizations ever use Red Cap. It is amazing to me - they had an opportunity to impress this customer, but left me feeling quite frustrated. Terrible experience. He knew I was an Angie's List customer, and still left me feeling frustrated. I waited many weeks before posting the review, to give them a chance. Never again.

They told me I did not need the service offered in the deal, but they did clean the drain for me. One plumber came out and completed the work in about 45 minutes. He was good and efficient. He was a little abrupt, however. I had no problem scheduling the deal.

Provider was very, very late--by several hours. I had to call repeatedly to get him to respond. Was supposed to have arrived by 4pm; finally showed up at 8:30 pm. Tub began to back up again within about a week. Although the house and plumbing are old and I expect to have difficulties periodically, other, less expensive, plumbers have snaked the tub and kept if running freely for much, much longer. Price above reflects discount I insisted they give me because of being so late. They most certainly didn't offer. Also, this isn't the first time I've been dissatisfied with Red Cap. But it's the last!
