 + 0 moreLiving in a house built in 1925, we rely on Olin Plumbing. All of the plumbers we've met from Olin have been consistently courteous and professional, including Mr. Olin. When at an earlier visit the plumbing symptoms were not showing, we were not charged for the visit. When the symptoms reappeared, Mr. Olin came out himself to check. Then Scott and Mike came out quickly afterward. After pulling the toilet, they re-secured it to the floor better than it had been originally. The seal looked as though it had never been broken. We would highly recommend Olin Plumbing for great service and professionalism.

 + -1 moreDerek Olin answered my call himself Friday evening. We scheduled an appointment for the following morning. He called to let me know he was on his way. He arrived promptly and was very professional. He tracked down the source of the problem, explained what was wrong and what was necessary to fix it. The work was done quickly. Derek then took the time to help me locate the main shut off just incase I should ever need it in the future (I had the water department shut my water off this time, which will not work if things happen in the middle of the night). It was also helpful for me that he let me know next steps I should consider since there was a lot of moisture in the wall, floor and cabinet. I have been very pleased with the service! I can absolutely recommend Olin Plumbing without reservation and I will definitely use them for all my future plumbing needs!
Description of Work: Derek tracked down the source of the water that had saturated the carpet in a closet. It turned out to be a refrigerator line. The cut off valve was frozen so he installed a new one.

 + -1 moreMy kitchen faucet was leaking badly. I called Olin Plumbing because of their good reviews on Angie's List. They were very courteous and provided same day service. Joe, the plumber, replaced the bad faucet with a new one that I had purchased. He appeared experienced and professional. Afterwards, he removed the debris and cleaned up the area. Olin Plumbing seems more responsive than some of the larger, more impersonal companies I have previously dealt with. After this first experience with Olin, I would use them again.

 + 0 moreAll went better than expected. Derek felt the need to remove the commode to better attack the problem going to the main line. He spent more time than anyone ever did and that was very comforting. Combine that with his 1 year guaranty and that sealed the deal.

 + -1 moreI had a flood that started with a leak from the refrigerator's ice maker that extended into the dining room, pantry and master bath areas. I was unable to shut the water off in the house due to a faulty valve, nor could I shut it off at the street level (it was stuck). Olin Plumbing came in less than an hour - I called other plumbers 1st but their answering services were "unable to reach them". Olin Plumbing turned the water off at the street, fixed the valve, turned the water back on, and referred me to a restoration company to help with the clean up. They were very efficient, pleasant and professional. And all of this happened at 3am! Thank you Olin Plumbing for your help!

 + -1 moreFrom the beginning the service was outstanding! I spoke with Jennifer who was able to schedule an appointment at a time which accommodated my schedule. Later I needed to move the appointment, and again, she was able to very kindly work with me to find a new date and time. On the service date, Derek called in advance to inform me he was on the way. Once he arrived, he took a look at the sink and told me the odor was coming from bacteria and that the best solution was to pour some Clorox down the back-up drain. I was extremely impressed by his honesty and integrity! He then took the time to look around for possible other issues in the house, and to top it off, there was no charge for the visit - WOW! Given the positive experience, I asked Derek about some elective work I've been considering for my shut-off valve, and he gave me a quote. If I move forward with that project, I will definitely be using Olin plumbing for the job!

 + -1 moreToilet took five minutes to fill back up to re-flush. Called Olin, and they came first thing next morning as agreed. They replaced the valve which cut the fill time in half. Later that day I came home and found water on the floor. Called Olin back and they came in 20 minutes. They replaced the bolts which were rusted and leaking for free. Very happy with their work. Will use again.

 + 1 moreEverything went well. It was a lengthy repair and involved repair. Derek Olin did all the work and he is a master plumber not a technician sent to sell you things you do not need. He broke into the concrete block wall and the concrete flooring pad of the porch and expertly and efficiently identified and corrected the problems. He made common sense recommendations that we followed and we agreed with. He put a clean out in to make future stoppages easier to handle. Then he repaired the wall and concrete pad perfectly. He kept his work area clean and removed all debris from the work site. It was a stressful event for us but was handled flawlessly by Olin Plumbing. Could not be happier with this (well maybe if it were free lol). His fees are reasonable and fair.
Description of Work: We have an older South Tampa home, We had a major stoppage in our kitchen sink and main drain line. The repair required breaking into a wall and a concrete slab.

 + -1 moreThe repair person recommended an new water heater. Diagnosed a rod malfunction. We said no to the new hot water heater. The repair ended up being different than diagnosed, and the hot water heater eventually, within months had to be replaced. Am not sure if the service was good or bad. We may have really just needed a new hot water heater, regardless the repair was different than expected and the repair lasted only a few months.

Derek spent the time in my home and looked at my situation and even though didn't have to do any work to fix a problem; there was NO charge. I was prepared to pay for something but was thrilled not to. Olin Plumbing has certainly earned any and all future plumbing business from me. The open honesty presented to me is not often found in today's difficult economy. I would recommend without question this servicer to any and all in need.
Description of Work: I am new to using a garbage disposal and believe I put too large of a grapefruit in the disposal. After doing this, I noticed both the sink drain side and disposal side did not drain or work the same. It had backed up and was driving me nuts. I called Olin and since it was not an emergency set up an appointment for the following Saturday morning. In the time prior to calling, I tried to fix the problem myself (knowing little about plumbing, but basically handy). Over the course of the next week leading up to the appointment, the problem more or less fixed itself. Although I would like to take the credit for my tinkiering with it, I don't know if that is actually what happened. It would have been easy to cancel the appointment but wanted him to come out and see if he could fix the faucet in the same sink from dripping. Although it was a small/slow drip, it also was driving me crazy. The Saturday came for the appointment and the time was verified by a phone call from Jennifer (Derek Olin's daughter) the day before. Derek showed up on time as scheduled and listened to my problem. He determined that the drain was clear and didn't need any service and the blockage which there probably was is now gone. He then explained to me why there was a drip in the faucet and that there was actually nothing wrong with the faucet. The sitauation I was experiencing was normal and actually was able to express to me in laymen terms of why.
