Description of Work: My airhandler was leaking water. It's very old. I couldn't afford to replace. He cleaned the grill. It's been a year and still working great - - never had leaked since . . .when it's time, I will replace entire a/c and call Northside. Honest company!

Description of Work: They installed the air conditioning unit in May of 2009. I have had years of moisture, drain lines, and grease issues since. The drain lines they installed are a configuration of unsupported pvc pipes in a series of right angles. I have called them for a variety of service issues and pointed out the moisture and grease issues to the technicians who told me all that was normal. On July 4th the unit started a serious water leak. On July 5th a technician came out from Northside and told me there was a drain line crack deep in the drain line pan. Later that day I called, and emailed, the owner, Brian, requesting him to come and look at this install and he refused to come. He mentioned he did not have time to come out to every service complaint. I was told by Brian, that the idea of him coming out to see every complaint is "asinine". I received an email from Brian on July 8th stating that Northside would not be servicing my equipment anymore. Northside did refund the $94 service charge from July 5th. Even though Brian has not been to my house he said, you must have broken the drain line yourself. On July 9th, I had to have another company come and they found and showed me that Northside had souddered small scraps of copper pipe together and also bent part of it to create an angle in the pipe resulting in a crimp in the copper pipe. This was concealed from the time of install with insulation. This insulation was coated with oil and moisture from the time of install.

+ -1 moreInitially, I can't remember if one of my husband's coworkers was the one who gave us the name. But we didn't have a lot of time and we had a problem. They were just great. At that point I was here only for 3 or 4 months and was clueless on all things air-conditioning or heat pump wise. It was more like it was a very good scheme rather than fooling around and get bids, although we did get a second opinion from a group. It went just fine and hopefully it will continue to be fine.
Description of Work: The heating and A/C company came out in September 2006 to put in a new heat pump. They also come out to service the systems.

+ -1 moreThere estimate was about $1000.00 lower than other estimates. They were very helpful with suggestions. We have a large family room and they said that a room that big needed its own return. He redesigned the system in the attic so we could have a return. Also, Instead of a vent they added a diffuser. This is so much better. A candle doesn't even flicker. The owbnr was the one that came out for the estimate. He also said that if we ever needed any small work done, we could call upon his son. We had a great experience with them.
Description of Work: Added a new return. Also installed 2 diffusers. Installed a central A/C unit and a heat pump. I had other estimates in the 6k region.

+ -1 moreWhen my A/C stopped working, I was concerned about finding a replacement for a price I could afford. I had several price bids to replace the unit. I was not ready to put a lot of money into a new A/C unit; however, being without cool air is not an option for my family. When Northside came to the house to make give me an estimate, I explained that I didn't plan on living here forever and putting a pricey unit in was not an option. The Northside salesman (the owner) provided all options, fully explaining the types of equipment available and their individual benefits. He left me to discuss my options with my family. About 30 minutes later, he called with a solution - he had a unit just like the one I currently had that had been ordered for a cancelled job. He could sell it to me and install it for $1700. I was very happy - it solved my problem for a manageable cost. I appreciated his concern and interest in my situation. The unit was installed the next day and I have been very pleased with the outcome. Both the salesman and technician were caring, honest and dependable.
Description of Work: My A/C stopped working. After several technicians explained that I needed a new unit, I began the process of getting estimates from a number of companies. When I found the right price, the new unit was installed and I have had absolutely perfect service from the unit. The installation was prompt and done perfectly.

It's important to note, I called 4 or 5 A/C repair companies and they all estimated the problem to be a major A/C condenser or evaporator coil repair or replacement with an estimated cost between $400 and $550. The Northside A/C representative said it sounded like a simple $99.00 maintenance, but left the door open, should there be other problems involved. In fact, it was exactly what they thought it was going to be and charged me the estimate of $99.00. I am convinced if I had gone with any other company I had called, they would have charged me over $400.00. Thank goodness for honest, ethical service people.
Description of Work: My central air unit quit working. (quit blowing cool air). This company diagnosed the problem as a standard A/C periodic maintenance. Rob spent about 1 to 2 hours, completed the service and the A/C was working great again.

+ -1 moreFinal price was a lot higher than expected. Bright side- Tech was very nice and they were prompt (Repairs were made in less than 24 hrs). Not certain if I will ever use them again. I gave the company a B rating for professionalism. Based upon the misinformation re: price not because of the nice man they sent to make the repairs. He was very helpful and if he had his own company, I would hire him for any electrical repair.
Description of Work: I contacted this company based on what another Angie's list subscriber said. Honesty is very important when it comes to hiring a company to do even the smallest job. I was quoted a price of $79 for the first 1/2 hr. and was told that that price would be taken off the final cost of my bill. I had one bad outlet in my garage that was powering my dryer. Problem was diagnosed within the first 10 mink. I was told that it was a bad breaker and it needed to be changed at the source. It was a fairly quick job. Entire process took less than 1/2 hour. I was given a quote after my original breaker had been already been removed from my cicuit box. I was told it would be $147. Final bill came to $157 (there is a $10 fee added on for gas).

Description of Work: I;I'VE HAD THEM FOR YEARS. THEY ALWAYS TELL ME THAT I HAVE THEIR FIRST 8 O'CLOCK APPT. THEY FINALLY SHOWED UP THIS MORNING AT 10:30. I HAD MADE NUMEROUS CALLS TO THE COMPANY TO FIND OUT WHERE THE REP WAS. THEY HAD KEPT TELLING ME HE WAS ON THE WAY. I FINALLY SPOKE TO THE OWNER, WHO SAID THE REP'S MOTHER WAS IN A CAR ACCIDENT AND TOLD ME TO BE COMPASSIONATE. WHEN I SPOKE TO THE REP, HE SAID HE HAD JUST BEEN ON THE PHONE FOR HIS MOTHER THAT MORNING.

SINCE IT WAS A HOLIDAY, I FELT CERTAIN THAT I WOULDN'T BE ABLE TO GET ANYONE TO COME OUT AND DO THE REPAIR. SINCE I HAD USED THIS COMPANY SUCCESSFULLY NUMEROUS TIMES BEFORE, I DECIDED I'D CALL THEM AGAIN. THE COMPANY WAS CLOSED, SO AN ANSWERING SERVICE ANSWERED MY CALL AND TOOK MY INFORMATION. WITHIN ONE HOUR A SERVICEMAN CALLED ME BACK TO SAY HE WAS ON HIS WAY TO MY HOME. HE DID THE REPAIR AND SAVED THE DAY! SINCE I HAD THE TRANE EXTENDED WARRANTY,I WAS ONLY CHARGED A DIAGNOSTIC FEE OF $74.00. THESE PEOPLE ARE GREAT!

BECAUSE HE TOOK TIME TO PROVIDE EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE, HE FOUND OUT THAT THE THERMOSTAT WAS PROPERLY INSTALLED. HE AGREED TO REPLACE IT AT NO COST TO US. THEY ADVERTISE AS A CHRISTIAN COMPANY, AND THEY SHOWED GOD'S LOVE TO US. THAT IS CUSTOMER SERVICE!!
