The technician arrived on time and completed the work. The price is much too high.
Description of Work: Neighborhood Garage Door Service of Tampa replaced two garage door springs. Their cost for two springs was $590. My husband researched and found the cost of two high tension springs is $132.00. That’s quite a markup! Our total bill including labor was $720.94. After talking to a neighbor that had his springs replaced by another company we find that we were over charged by approximately $200.00.

It did not go well at all. You cannot really tell a lot about a company when everything goes as planned. But, you can tell a lot a company when there are problems. I had the springs replaced in my garage door and the technician spent 6 hours trying to line everything up. In the process, he twisted and bent the vertical railing. I complained and they said that they would give me a discount and fix it for $125 plus the brackets. I told them their technician bent it. They said it was already bent. Then they said they had photographs to prove it. So, they sent me photos the technician sent me AFTER he broke it. It just so happens, unbeknownst to them, my wife took a photo after the technician just had two dents in it (about two hours into the process). You can clearly see the difference between the railing in the two photos. At this point, they didn't even acknowledge my photo and just said they want the deeply discounted price of $125 plus the brackets to fix it. I had another company come out and fix it for $125 with the brackets (no discount, their regular price). So, it gets worse. The technician had replaced a bracket that holds one of the rollers for free. The only problem is that he replaced the bracket with a hinge instead of a bracket. Now, ever time the door goes up and down, the top of the door bangs on the cable roller. The gave me a freebie that will destroy my door and cause the cable to go off track. Thank you for the freebie. Also, there is supposed to be a center bearing in the spring set. It is missing. I guess I didn't know that you have to order parts that I didn't even know existed before this began. Unfortunately, I didn't pay with VISA which would be easier to fight them. All they want is more money every time I point out a problem. They will give me a deeply discounted price which appears to be the going rate. They tell me the warranty is only in case the spring breaks; not for shoddy workmanship. Of all these screwups, the biggest thing that gets me mad is that everyone I talk to at the company says the railing was all twisted at the beginning without even acknowledging the photo that I have which proves them wrong. Ingenious debating skills, just ignore facts and continue to insinuate that I am lying about when the damage occurred.

Technician was prompt and friendly. He completed the work and seemed to do a good job. My only complaint is that they estimated my cost to be $250-$300 over the phone. Once arriving the technician looked at my springs and said the cost would be $260 per spring plus labor...so about $650 total. I had previously looked up the cost of the springs online (they were $125 each) so I argued the price. The company finally agreed to $350 for the job, which I thought was fair but they were obviously trying to over charge me by $300 dollars.

Rick showed up very nice, have a quick and accurate price. Then fixed door as quick as he said he would, under 30 min. He then gave us great safety advice on be careful around heavy garage doors. Payment was quick, professional, and easy when he called office.

Even though they couldn't honor the price/deal for my area I feel their customer service was very professional and honest.
Description of Work: I purchased an offer for $649 New Double-Car Garage Door and they let me know right away that they can't perform the service for this price in my area due to cost of impact door etc.

When i called to inquire about home automation technologies they we very rude in how they were trying to push a specific technology... before i can even say anything I quote "if you're not ready to go with (X-product) have a good day." and then when i said that okay, i will think about the option they promptly hung up on me.

We called to request service early Monday morning and Tracy was here and gone well before noon with everything working perfectly. He worked quickly and efficiently, taking time to review the work performed and identifying and seeking approval for necessary maintenance that had been neglected. His attitude was professional, friendly and helpful, even suggesting money saving coupons available on the website. The office also quickly and good-heartedly resent paperwork after we had inadvertently deleted it.
Description of Work: Replaced broken spring with two lifetime warranty springs, replace rollers, replace and program keypad, and perform general maintenance.

About 4 weeks ago I scheduled estimates from 4 or 5 Garage door companies. Neighborhood Garage Door Service gave me a date and time they would be at my home to give me an estimate. When they did not show at the time frame I was given I Called and was told I would get a call with a new time. I was then called 2 hours later saying they couldnt make it that day but would come the next day around the same designated time frame. He was then another 2 hours late and again I had to call and make sure they were coming. When the man came to give me an estimate he was very friendly and told me it wasn't up to him for the price but he would call the negotiators and he said don't let them pressure you if you want to get other estimates do so. However the price I can give you is 1000 installed and 100 to take the existing door away. so 1100 total. I was then given his phone and a man told me he could do it for 900 installed and take my garage door away for free. I just had to agree then and pay 100 non refundable deposit to lock that price in. I agreed and paid the deposit and scheduled the day for a week or two later. The day comes when they are going to come and install my door and again no call 2 hours after the time frame they were to be there. I call them and they said oh we had trouble getting your permits so we need to reschedule. I said ok but I need to reschedule for in two weeks due to my schedule. They did with no problem. Today is the day dec 15th 2015. I was given the hours 9-11am. I call at 1130 am and they said oh he has till 12. I said ok must be my mistake. He said he will call and give me an estimated time when he will be here. 30 mins later I get a call from a man that said he is the one who quoted me the price and he is very sorry however they can no longer do it at the quoted price. He was wrong and he was sorry. they can't do it for less than 1000 plus the 100 carry off fee. I told him that was unacceptable and I would like to speak to someone in charge a supervisor of some kind. He then puts me on hold and comes back with a completely different tone and speaking to me as if this were my fault and his frustration was vocalized in his attitude twds me. He told me there was nothing he could do I was quoted a price with a door with out the extra stuff for the wind coverage.. I explained I asked that very question making sure my quote was for this very door He and the man who came to give me the estimate assured me it was. He then says i will just split the difference and you pay an extra 100.. I again explained that was unacceptable and I would again like to talk to someone in charge He told me in a very raised tone I was talking to someone in charge and there is nothing he can do. I said ok well I was told I would get xyz if i gave a non refundable 100.00 deposit and now you have gone back on that word so I would like the deposit back.. he said I would not be able to get my non refundable deposit back. He said I will transfer you to the customer service rep and I could apply to get it back but I wouldn't. I was very upset and he transferred me.. The Customer Service rep was much nicer and had a much better demeanor. He apologized and said i was treated terrible and he was going to write it all up so it could be investigated and do better from now on. He said he credited my refund and it would be back within 24-48 hours on my card. I explained to him that them investigating did not make this right to me in my treatment and going back on an estimate 30 mins after they were supposed to be here with my install. He agreed and said he was sorry. He said he knows it is a problem. I told him that by not making it right with me he is part of the problem. He told me he would call me back and try to get it for my original quote. He called me back 30 mins or so later and said he was sorry he went to the very top and there was just no way. If they did it for that cost they would lose money and not make money. I feel as though I was given a bait and switch. I feel they quoted me a price never intending to honor it and thought they would strong arm me into just paying the extra money and be done with it. When it was apparent to the sales man over the phone I wouldn't do that He became angry with me and treated me as if I was not a intelligent female. I do not believe this would have happened if I were a man. He would have not spoken to me the way he did and I would not have been given so many different prices. They tried to take advantage of a female simply because they didn't think I would know better based on my s**. I found them to overall be unprofessional and sexist. I will tell you what I told them. I would rather pay the 200 extra dollars to an honest worker who treats customers right then. It was not that I can't afford the extra 200 it was my treatment and them going back on their word and the run around. This is now 4 solid days I have had to rearrange my schedule to accommodate this company and I got nothing in return. So what about my loss of income because of those things? I do thank the Rep that said he tried on my behalf and I thank him for his attitude to me. However this is the worst experience in home improvements i have come across. I would never call them and I would never use them. I would never recommend them.
Description of Work: I was quoted a price of 900.00 for an installed Garage door and to take away my existing double large door with the backing needed for the Wind that is required in our area.

Description of Work: ad said 21 point and balance door. he wanted another $50 to balance door , sprayed hinges with some stuff we had to leave garage door open all night and air out the house for several hours it was so nasty smelling. his work took 3 minutes really . but took 45 minuted to get me billed over his phone credit card thing. after he left i discovered workman had left his flash light and rechargeable battery on the floor. still waiting for a call for him to come get it . deal is a bait and switch , don't go for it

Provider arrived looked at door and gave me a cost to replace it. Didn't even try to fix it. I had to tell them what manual said to do. They just wanted to sell me a new motor. When I said no they proceeded to do the things to it that I explained the manual said to do. After which they made the door completely stop working. What made it worse, was the jerk of a manager who got on the phone and had absolutely NO customer service ability kept telling me my system was too old. He wasn't even there to see it. It is an older model but works fine. He was a jerk. and they still charged me a service fee. I eventually got the door to work again, but they did nothing but make it worse. And the guys who came spoke broken English one and the other none. This made it hard to communicate. I a buying a new door just not from them. They should have been clear from the start on the fees and should have acknowledged their err. But the absolute rudeness of the manager on the phone made it completely unacceptable.
Description of Work: I asked them to come make adjustment to balance of door so it would stay closed and not reverse on me.
