The repairman arrived and was polite and followed procedures for tracking into the home. He discussed the problem of cold water trickling into the washer, pulled the machine out , went about checking the back, stated that he thought crystals from the water softener had somehow gotten into the water line, removed them and determined that that was the problem. I asked him if he thought the convolution of the dryer hose could be a risk for a fire and he said he could adjust it some, which I guess he did as he then pushed the dryer back closer to the wall than previously and then evened the washer to the dryer. He then checked the cold water inlet and determined that the flow was strong. I wrote a check for the service and he left. He was here approximately 20 minutes. After he left, I checked the dryer hose and found it to be more convoluted than previously. The next day (Saturday) I washed the first load of clothes and noticed during the spin cycle that I had water flowing in the laundry room, hallway and into the family room. I called Mr. Appliance and learned that they do not work on Saturday, and they DO NOT EVEN HAVE EMERGENCE SERVICE TO FOLLOW UP ON THEIR SERVICE CALLS. The earliest they could have someone come out would be NEXT WEEK on Monday between 8:00am and 12:00 noon. I EXPRESSED THAT THIS WAS NOT ACCEPTABLE AND I EXPECT A REPAIRMAN AT MY HOME AT 8;00AM SHARP ON MONDAY 10/7/13 AS I ALSO HAVE A JOB AND MUST BE AT WORK. I ALSO REQUESTED MY MONEY BACK. NEEDLSS TO SAY I WILL NEVER USE THEM AGAIN.
Description of Work: He pulled the washer out & cleaned out the cold water filter?? He has 2 valve #'s written on the bill/receipt. He looked at the dryer hose to determine if he thought it could be a fire hazard due to it's length and convolution. He said he adjusted it. He then pushed the dryer back to accomodate the hose adjustment and then the washer. He then pulled out the knob to determine that the cold water was running adequately. He quoted $170.00 at the beginning, then reduced it to $145.00 and then deducted $20.00 for my being an Angie's List customer. I wrote a check for the amount of the bill. He arrived at approximately 4:45 pm and was gone by 5:05 pm.

Sorry when you called on Saturday we could not get a tech there until Monday. We have considered staffing techs on Saturday but have decided to do so as of yet. Sorry your experience was not a more positive one.

The guy was stellar.He was dressed appropriately. He fixed the problem. He explained how the problem occured, and how to clean the dish washer and what product to use. He even applied a coupon that we were not aware of. He was flawless. He also gave us some helpful advise on our freezer temperature.

I found this provider in the Honor Roll section of your magazine. When I called to set up the appointment , I was favorably impressed with the contact person. I had the make and model number handy and when I described the problem the representative told me the technician would have the part that was probably needed to accomplish the repair. The technician arrived the very next day and was even a bit early which was great and he had the necessary part to make the repair. It's amazing how much everything costs today, but well worth having my washing machine fixed so expertly and quickly. It's cheaper than a new machine certainly.
Description of Work: My 8 year old washing machine would agitate, but would not spin on any cycle.

The experience was very poor. He charged me $79 just to come out to my home. He took the back off of the fridge to determine the problem and that was essentially all he did. He said it would be $350 to run a dye thru the system to see if the freon is leaking. If that was the problem, he said it would be another $350 to fix it. He recommended purchasing a new refrigerator. This was a rip off. I called somebody else because I was not satisfied. The other company came out the same day, tested the compressor and found that the relay to the compressor was bad. Replaced it, and now my fridge is working fine as ever. 7/23/13 He did end up coming back out to refund my 79.00 dollars.

It was easy to get an appointment quickly and he was punctual and professional. The only issue is that he either installed a faulty icemaker or made a mistake on the installation, so that when the icemaker reached temperature and started working (several hours after he left) water began dripping from it and coated the inside of our freezer with ice. When called, he came back the next day to replace it again at no charge, but he didn't help us clean up the ice, so we had a major defrost project on our hands.

The technician did a through check of the dryer and he indicated that it was working properly. He suggested that I put in a new vent system and indicated that this would solve the problem. He offered suggestion as to the best way to do this and indicated that it was something I could do. Following his detailed instructions I made the installation and the problem was solved. The technician saved me from the cost of having someone else due the job, saving me more that the job would have cost. Highly recommend their services.

He replaced it for 250 but the problem came back. I gave Mr. Appliance another call and they are now scheduling another appointment with my tenant. I'm beginning to regret not buying a replacement fridge instead.

I called Mr. Appliance on 04/17. The phone rep was courteous and professional and very friendly. Within just a couple of minutes, she had all of my contact info, a description of the problem, and a time frame for the next morning when a technician could arrive. That was a very good start. The technician called early and said he was on his way. For convenience, I had pulled the refirgerator out of the outdoor kitchen and moved it to our garage so he could work easier. He arrived when promised and diagnosed the problem very quickly, it was shredded wires. He replaced the faulty wiring, plugged it in, and everything worked fine. He was very professional, courteous, and friendly. The total for the bill was $172.59. Not knowing what exactly was wrong, I was afraid the repair was going to be very costly since the refrigerator is somewhat exposed to the elements. The cost was a nice surprise for me. Appliance repair of any type is expensive so in the grand scheme of things, this was a bargain. I would definitely use Mr. Appliance in the future and would recommend them to others.
Description of Work: An under cabinet refrigerator in our outdoor kitchen lost power. After checking the basics; breaker, outlet, etc, it was obvious the problem was the refrigerator itself.

Tech arrived on site and ran diagnostics on my machine. Then informed that I needed $500+ worth of repairs for RPS Sensor kit that includes wire harness kit, plus need Suspension kit. Obviously too much money to repair an aging unit. Then changed me full $79 service call amount because Angies List $20 coupon only applies to repairs made and not on diagnostics with repairs not performed - my oversight on that specific clause. I begrudgingly paid the amount and sent the repair guy on his way. I did my own research on the issue and found a recall from Kenmore on this unit that will replace the sensor kit for free. Would have been nice for the repair tech to have informed me of this, but that would have cost them money out of there pocket. *UPDATE* Mr. Appliance called me to apologize for not meeting my expecations and resolved my issues. That was a nice gesture and changes my opinion favorably so I would consider using them again in the future.
Description of Work: Service call to diagnose UL error and bad balance issues during spin cycles of wash loads. Common problem on my washer model and common fix is to replace Suspension rods to fix (approx $60-80 kit)

I discovered the leak at 11 p.m., of course, and was desperate to get it repaired because the water was creeping behind a wall and into a bedroom. I called Mr. Appliance at 8:30 a.m. the next day and was thrilled to hear they could send a service rep out by 3 p.m. that day. The repairman arrived at 1 p.m., identified the problem as a leaky water pump and replaced it right away. The fridge was fixed in 20 minutes. And I was overjoyed! I will definitely call Mr. Appliance again.

The appliance technician arrived on time and quickly assessed and repaired the machine. He was very professional and polite and even advised that I might want to consider not repairing it due to its age. The fixed worked perfectly and the machine is working great now. He charged me $79 to diagnose, but took the $79 away because I decided to use him. The original bill was $411 but he refused to take that amount, saying it was far too much. He took it town quite a bit. He was courteous, nice, and clean. I've never been treated that way by a service company. It was fantastic. And he of course fixed my washer!
Description of Work: My washer wasn't spinning clothes dry. I called the place where I purchased the washer and they gave me this company. He came out and told me it was my timer.

This company and its technician, Michael Maxey, were super prompt, efficient and knowledgeable. The company calls the day before the service appointment to confirm the appointment, which is given in a four-hour range. The technician is happy to call when he's on his way to your home as well. When he arrived, the technician brought booties to put over his shoes so he would not get my floors dirty. He was fast and very knowledgeable. My microwave required a part, so another appointment was scheduled for the following week. Again, prompt, efficient and on time. Problem solved. I wish it hadn't been so expensive, considering my microwave's just a little over two years old, but my quibble is with the manufacturer, Samsung, not Mr. Appliance, who was terrific. Highly recommended.

I have never been so impressed by any company as I have this company. A man by the name of Michael came over and covered his shoes before walking in as to not bring any dirt into the house. He called 20 minutes before to let me know he was on his way. He was very pleasant and had the oven fixed in just a short time. They may not be the cheapest in price but there was no waist of time he knew exactly what to do and he did it. I would highly recommend this company to my friends.

Job was completed for the quoted price in spite of the extra time needed for tools and reluctant parts. Very satisfied.
Description of Work: Mr. Appliance was hired to fix our Dacor kitchen stove. We had been getting an error code for several months and finally got around to having the appliance fixed. Bob was the technician and determined the probably cause and quoted the job. A part needed to be ordered so I paid for the job and agreed to meet again once the part came in. I was very impressed with Bob and also the fact that I was being charged by the job not by the hour. This came in handy when Bob returned with the part and then when he tried to install the keypad found that there was a special tool needed that the repair notes did not specify. Well the tool was ordered and Bob returned again and really had to struggle to get access to the keypad. He worked very hard and completed the job without complaining. He recommended some good cleaners and tips and the repair seems to have solved our problem. The error code was a bit sporadic so time is needed but I feel confident that if I have any more issues Mr. Appliance will help me. I can't say enough about Bob, he was great.

On the first visit, the repair person evaluated our washer and found it had a bad motor. The required parts were ordered and installed within 3 days. We truly believe that the washer now works better than it did when it was new (7 years ago).
