MODERN CABINETRY & MILLWORK

My wife liked their cabinets better than some major retailers because they were made better. It was expensive, but it was covered by insurance. It was good quality. Their responsiveness was good because a couple of cabinet doors were messed up and they replaced them. They told me to keep the old ones. They were pretty good because there were some nicks, damages and stuff and they took care of them. They refinished a couple of them that had nicks and stuff. Their professionalism was very good.

It was an outstanding experience! As for the cost, the other company I checked prices with came in $2000 higher.

Did not use them

We started with a typical Florida kitchen from 1985, which had a drop ceiling; small, contractor quality cabinets; modest eat-in area; wall cabinets that obstructed the view into the dining room; fluorescent lights and a difficult lay-out for entertaining. The floor was 12and quot; square tiles with dirty grout from front door to laundry, kitchen, dining room and hall/guest bath. We seldom asked people over because it was such an eyesore. NO MORE! What we accomplished by the help of the two and quot;Mikesand quot; of Modern Cabinetry, as well as our superb electrician, Tom Lisnock, and tile man, Mario Lopez, is stunning! The two Mikes work exceptionally well together. The younger Mike was a cabinet maker and quot;up northand quot; for a long time and was the one who was preparing each cabinet for install. The Lead Installer and bit older Mike did the actual alignment and and quot;screwing into the walland quot;. They both worked smoothly and most professionally. When all cabinets were installed, both Mikes worked on the details of the crown molding, shoe molding and trim. We did not receive the correct number of knobs and handles we ordered from a third-party, so the younger Mike returned to finish the install about 10 days later...without complaint and without additonal charge. The end result is an absolutely beautiful new layout that our friends enthusastically compliment. One important tip I should add is that we got estimates from two big box stores that supply KraftMaid as well as PGT/Modern Cabinetry. The PGT cost was several thousand dollars below the big box stores AND our cabinets are and quot;all wood constructionand quot; with self-closing drawers AND doors. We think the value we received is outstanding in every repect and can strongly recommend Modern Cabinetry.

Great people to work with in a kitchen remodel. Personnel eager to assist in whatever project with suggestions that help save you money while getting you what you want. As explained previously, I did not use them in the end but only because of contractor's needs.

It is going good so far. We are very happy with them and they are very professional. They take the time out to make sure that it is done nicely. They are very meticulous in their work. There were a couple of glitches that came up and they were the ones who found the issues. They gave me the options on how to approach them rather than trying hide mistakes.

I started to work with them, but they disappeared midway. They came out and the guy who I dealt with said that the drywall guy would get back with him shortly. So I reached out to him again about a week later, but he never replied to me. It was an indication that he didn’t want to do the work. I thought that it was pretty bad of him to do so. He did the cabinets for my girlfriend and did a very beautiful job. She referred him to me, but I figured that it may not have been something that he wanted to do. My experience with him was bad and I am very upset about it. His time is valuable and so is mine. So I was trying to get estimates from other companies and was trying to make a fair decision. He should have at least told me that the job was too small or the place was too far for him. I first contacted him and then he did call us. He then drew up a little plan and we went back and forth a couple of times. He then came out to get the work done in our condominium. He should have at least told me that he didn’t want to work and it would make things a lot easier. I also e-mailed him and he said that he was going to talk to his carpenter. I guess that the carpenter and the drywall guy are the same. He sent me a notice saying that he would talk to his carpenter and he would be there on the same day. So we scheduled the appointment at 10 and he showed by himself. He never called me to tell me that the other guy wasn’t coming. He then took some pictures and measurements. A while later when I hadn’t heard anything from him in regards to the estimate, I e-mailed him informing him that I hadn’t heard from him. So he told me that he should be hearing from the drywall guy soon. I e-mailed him back after a while and asked him if he had spoken to the drywall guy and he never answered me. So I never got an estimate. He didn’t follow through. He was on time when he had to schedule the appointment. He was good when he started out. He was nice and I liked the way he dressed. He was knowledgeable too and I know that his company can do good work since I have seen their work. I would have probably hired them, but I am hiring someone else because of what they did. I would never do business with them in the future.

David spent a lot of time with us designing the kitchen. Although we had some ideas about what we wanted when we started, they provided us with great input on the design. This enabled us to fit in all the features we wanted and even convinced us that some of the features we thought we wanted could be accomplished in a better way. He provided great input and really understood the look that we were trying to achieve. His installer, Mike, did a superb job installing the cabinets. He really took his time to make sure that everything fit together perfectly. He was very professional and thorough. After doing lots of research and speaking to many different cabinet companies we felt that we had become very informed consumers. We had very high expectations and the folks at Modern did not disappoint us at all. They did an excellent job and our new kitchen is perfect!
