+ -1 moreOverall, we were satisfied with the experience of buying a new house. This was my first time to buy a newly built house, and most of the specifications/options were already decided on the home since the construction was already in progress. We were persistent in pushing up the closing date to meet our personal circumstances and M/I was responsive in meeting out needs. The owner of M/I met us at closing to ensure we were satisfied with the experience. The sales and construction supervisory team at our location have been easy to work with and have been dedicated to resolving any issues that pop up. Time will tell if the assurances to follow up through the first year of warranty and the overall quality of the home will hold up to expectations. So far, so good!

+ -1 moreAfter we closed we went directly to our new house to meet with an alarm installer and discovered someone had broken in the day before and stolen our new refrigerator. I called the construction supervisor right away and he had a new one delivered to our house in 3 days, and was apologetic that they couldn't get it sooner. A crew is scheduled to replace the door frame where the criminals jimmied the sliding glass door open and did some minor damage to the frame. The yard had a few minor issues stemming from a water issue and the yard had browned in a few spots. They replaced the bad sod and sent a crew out to physically pull every weed out of the yard in the other spots where the grass had weakened some and weeds had started to move in. After that they did a fertilization and weed treatment on the yard. Had a minor issue with the master bath shower leaking and we have an open work order as of today to get it fixed, I'm confident they'll have someone out in the next couple of days to get that worked out as well. We'd done some research on M/I prior to buying our house and they have a good overall reputation, and now I can see why. New houses always have a few gremlins, and MI has been great so far about getting them ironed out. I would definitely recommend their homes to anyone looking to buy a new house.
Description of Work: We just bought our new house from MI Homes, closed on the 31st of May. We'd been looking the houses for several months, and finally found "THE" house. MI has gone above and beyond to make sure everything is perfect with our new house.
