MAXIMUM HOME THEATER

I used them about 2 years ago and spent over $100,000. They converted a garage into a home theater room, and it was an utter nightmare. They did a little bit of construction and stuff related to that. The problem was that the process was so ugly and horrible that by the time we got to the point where we were talking about adding the actual home theater stuff, we had fired them and had moved on. We bought the equipment elsewhere in general. What they did was just build a room, and I think they supplied the speakers that were built into the room. The salesman didn?t know what he was doing but he sold himself like he had done this kind of job all the time. I found out later that they never had. He was looking at this job as his way to do a major project; to get it under his belt and then be able to have something to show for it. We never got to the end of the project because he was so inept at it. I got to know his employees because they were in my house literally every day for the better part of a year. The turnover at his place is constant because he is such a nightmare to work for. I don?t know if he has changed his colors or not. I would not use him again.

He was to do the construction of the room and put the equipment in. He made a case that he had done this type of work before, but I later found out that he hadn't. We asked him for the designs and drawings, but he never gave us any drawings with the size of the vents and the ducts. The ones that were ordered were not the right size. He didn't complete anything other than just the speakers. I had hired a general contractor to over see the project so I won't have to be involved except to pay the bills. He told his people to completely ignore that guy. He charged me 45,000 originally and after paying the final bill, he came back charging me with another bill of $10,000 for the closet and then he said he was charging me by the hour. I ended up paying more than estimated. We were with this project for about a year and a half. I had an awful experience with him. He took on the job as a contractor with out any license and didn't get permits and I had to fire him. He didn't get to finish the job. It did nothing to increase the value of my home. I feel we got taken by the guy.
