John and Heidi Anderson do a great job. I had searched for a contractor to install siding for a long time, but never found one that gave me the sense they would take the time to do it right. That is, until I found John Anderson. They maintain excellent communication throughout the project, ensure their install team meets customer expectations, and deliver a quality job that looks great! We highly recommend John Anderson Building Contractors (JABC). His knowledge of construction and the Hardie products is outstanding. It took us over a year of interviewing contractors to finally choose JABC and we are so glad that we did. Our house has some boards that run diagonal and John recommended a Hardie product called Artisan V-Rustic. Unfortunately this product was not available in Florida - so John drove all the way to South Carolina to pick it up for us! His crew was fantastic. They were very meticulous and treated the project like it was their own home. During the construction process, a few issues with the existing house were discovered and they were able to correct these problem areas. John, Heidi, and crew far exceeded our expectations.

My wife & I are so happy we selected John Anderson Building Contractor. Their work has made our house look phenomenal. They helped us throughout our entire renovation project with not only their excellent workmanship, but also with helpful guidance on several major decisions such as the perfect size to use for Hardie Board siding, trim, soffit, & fascia. They even recommended for us to change the direction of our siding from vertical to horizontal which cost us much less and is more aesthetically pleasing, giving our home a more classic look. This was really a great recommendation. Additionally, John’s team painted everything beautifully and helped with a color specialist from Sherwin Williams. Everything just looks great! John and his team of workers were very professional and pleasant, always picking up after themselves at the end of their workday. It was such an enjoyable & exciting experience watching our home get a beautiful facelift and we owe it all to John Anderson Building Contractor for all their excellent & hard work.

By far, the easiest project we have tackled even though it was arguably the largest and most time consuming. John, Heidi, Alex and the rest of the crew went above and beyond our expectations. Communication was great. We were involved on all decisions but also tapped into their experience. At the end of each day, everything was tidied up and if there was a question as to how something should be stored, the crew always asked. They were a great group of guys. We also used some of Johns subcontractors for related projects and were impressed by them. It is obvious that John has high expectations for his employees and anyone he works with. He wants each project to be perfection and I think they achieved that with our home!

The professional manner and attention to details that John and Heidi pour into their business is a quality that is hard to find. John has many years of experience in construction and guided us for a cohesive look to our plans. He took our vision for our home and turned it into reality. Heidi set up a payment schedule ahead of time so we knew what to expect. Our crew: Alex, Andreas, and Maykel arrived early and put in full ten hour days. They sought our input on details of the job, were very skilled and respectful. They took great pride in their craft and are an asset to their company. When 2 of the windows came in without the exterior grids as ordered, John and Heidi had our back and have reordered the correct replacement windows. We will add photos of the house at a later date when everything is completed. The awning is better than we imagined and has changed the whole look of our back patio pool deck. We highly recommend them for their integrity and quality work. We look forward to seeing more of our projects completed by them in the future.

I contacted John Anderson from a Angie's List search of contractors who work on siding and windows. John's reviews were all top notch, and I can see why. He is very knowledgeable, and me not knowing everything about the process, filled in all the gaps I had with ease. The quote delivered was very concise and included many options for materials which helped keep the project exactly within the budget I had. Once work began, his crew (all his employees) worked very quickly and made sure to keep the site as neat as possible each day. Even with rain delays, the crew was able to finish up ahead of their estimated completion. You could tell they enjoyed working for John, and it showed in their pride of workmanship. I am very satisfied with the end result!

They were prompt and always arrived when they said they would. The crew did a great job addressing/fixing old water damage found when the siding was pulled. They kept me informed if I wasn't present to see any additional work needed. Window and siding replacement went great. We had a small issue with the supply distributor quoting/ordering the wrong sliding glass door, but John and Heidi stepped up to the plate and made sure we weren't financially responsible for the mistake. They fixed the issue promptly and worked within our schedule to complete the work. I would definitely recommend John to anyone getting similar work completed.

John and Heidi did a great job throughout the entire process. I had put this project on hold for two years and after two years they still were in tune to my project. The Hardie board siding and trim looks great and you would have never know they were there. I couldn't be more pleased with the new look of our home and the great job the crew did on site. Everything was cleaned up properly and neat at the end of each day. Truly a professionally run business that shows they take pride in their work.

We live in a stilt home that has two stories. The wall in question is the one with the largest surface area and is the one which is most exposed to weather conditions. The wood T1-11 paneling (4x8 sheets) on it had become rotted in a number of areas. I had read about Hardie paneling, but didn't know much about it beyond that. My search in Angie's List for someone who worked with the material uncovered John and Heidi Anderson's company. Heidi was very quick to respond to my contact request submitted through their web site. When John came out, he recommended replacing the wood paneling with the Hardie paneling, manufactured to mimic the design of the T 1-11 wood paneling. He described the material's qualities and had samples. He further talked about how specifically my job would be handled, including how the materials would interface with the windows and how the windows would be trimmed out. Since this is a home where the first floor starts some 8 feet off of the ground and then proceeds two stories up from there, it meant that the job was going to have to be executed while being elevated to some considerable height. I asked John if that was an issue. He responded by describing some of his larger jobs which required working at heights and that it was not a problem. He took some measurements and off he went. It took about a week or so to get an estimate from him, and required a prompting email. A little longer than I thought at first it "ought to". But, in hind sight, and after talks with both John and his crew about their work schedules, I came to realize that this is one busy guy. And as the job progressed, I could see why. (To be honest, it took us more than a week to let them know that we were interested in pursuing the job with them.)
On the first day of work, the crew arrived early. After John arrived, the crew set up the pump jacks that would be used to work at the heights needed, and dived right into the task of removing the old paneling (without removing the windows - and without damaging the windows). They worked quickly and efficiently, but carefully. By mid-afternoon, having finished removing the old stuff, they started adding the new plywood substrate and stayed at that until they finished the entire wall (about 500 sq. ft.) and ended the day by wrapping the wall in a Tyvek-like sheeting. They then cleaned up completely after themselves which included sweeping the driveways with a magnetic sweeper to catch all of the fallen nails.
On the next day, the crew started early with laying out the wall in preparation for the installation of the paneling. Once the materials arrived, they started the task. This turned out to be a bit of a challenge to them as they dealt with the windows. James, the foreman, was certainly up to the challenge. They successfully worked their way through all issues that arose. By late afternoon, the last piece of Hardie paneling was measured, cut, and pieced into its place. The crew continued working by cutting and installing all of the trim around the windows. Finally, they caulked every seam, every trim piece, and every nail hole. They finished the job by breaking down their setup and cleaning up completely. Early evening by this time. A long day for them.
Having worked as a carpenter and for carpentry contractors, in my younger years, I knew what I was watching throughout most of both of the days that John's crew was here. And I was impressed. They knew what they were doing. They knew how to solve problems. They worked closely and easily with one another. Man, they worked hard, too. Their lunch break was about a half hour, it seems to me, and I recall that they took only one short break in the morning and afternoon. James was an excellent foreman, continually moving his crew forward and also manning the saw on the ground. They were all polite and cheerful and easy to have around (despite all of the noise). And it seemed plain to me that they enjoyed their jobs and working for John. Their workmanship was TOP-NOTCH.
I am soooo glad that I "found" John and Heidi on Angie's List. If you have a job that entails working with Hardie siding, these are the folks to call. They are experts. I will have no hesitation whatsoever if it comes to hiring them again. I have already recommended them to a friend and will continue to do so as the proper occasion arises. A big Thank You to John, Heidi, James, and the great crew.

We practically have a new house, and it is beautiful. We contacted several providers that we found on Angie's List. John's was the best price. From our research, it was also the best product. John was very easy to work with as was his crew. They were very good about cleaning up at the end of each day, and making sure that the house was protected against the elements. My neighbor who is knowledgeable about constructions said they were doing the work the right way. John & James, the crew leader, was always willing to answer questions, and correct any problems that we found. They made sure that we were totally satisfied with the work, before the final payment was sent.

We were blown away at the quality of work performed by John Anderson's team. First of all, their patience was so appreciated. We took a long time to make the decision to renovate because we have 2 toddlers and were worried about the noise, the mess and the inconvenience to our daily routine. Heidi and John were so kind to answer all of our calls, meet with us in person whenever we needed them and did everything in a timely and professional matter. They gave us addresses and phone numbers for previous projects they completed and personal contacts if we wanted to call for references. We knew from the first meeting that John was the guy for this job. He was confident and knowledgeable. We knew we could trust him to do exactly what he recommended for our home. We never waivered from his direction. All we had to choose was the color of our siding and trim and he did the rest. Heidi had a detailed schedule of deposits emailed to us. There were no surprises. John came to our home each week and discussed what was going on each day, and what to expect for the following week. Grady, Bob, Andreas and Jamie worked on our home every week and they were phenomenal. Even our neighbors noticed their attention to detail. They were meticulous from beginning to end. Our neighbors couldn't believe the way they cleaned up each day. The crew was thoughtful towards them and the neighbors continued to comment from start to finish on their outstanding work ethic and cleanliness. We assumed that during this tedious process of taking off the existing siding that the crew would find away to "go around" stuff like gutters and awnings and other attached items but these guys DO NOT cut corners. They did everything the RIGHT AWAY. They took it all off. They put it all back on. They take pictures, they take notes and they do an amazing job. Grady and Bob are an awesome team and you can tell they have been doing this many years. Andreas and Jamie were hard workers and took pride in everything they did, every day. This project has exceeded our expectations in every single way. The quality of the materials as well as the quality of the work is more then we hoped for. Since the day the insulation was put in the walls we noticed a difference in our home. After the windows were installed we noticed a considerable difference in comfort and efficiency. After the new siding and the foam insulation under the home was completed it was truly a brand new home. Our electric bill has already decreased drastically and we appreciate a more "cozy" feeling in our house. We love our "new" home and continue to be impressed as we notice new details done by John's team. Our only regret is that we didn't do this renovation sooner. Our kids loved them, we loved them, there were no awful noises or horrible messes to clean every day. Everything was completely manageable. We can honestly say that we will miss the guys around here and feel so lucky that we found John Anderson Contractor to restore our home. Thank you!

The entire project went great from start to finish. John and Heidi are great to work with. They are accommodating, conscientious, helpful without being overbearing, and most importantly, trustworthy. John and his whole team treated the home as if it were their own...they were very mindful of details, and did a great job overseeing the work of their subcontractors (Paint crew and gutter installers). John's own team did all of the Hardie work. The project supervisor (James) was great, as were the workers. As mentioned above, everyone was conscientious, polite, hardworking, and flexible. i couldn't have been more pleased with the work. You'll definitely find contractors that can get a job started faster than John and Heidi....my advice? They are worth the wait.

The contractor is a bit busy and I was initially told he could not do the work until 3 months out but then I got a call that he could fit the job in and was I ready to have them come out tomorrow. So I had to be flexible with the scheduling but they were flexible with me regarding working around another contractor I had hired to paint my house. The contractor did a great job and I am satisfied with the result. The work men were professional and tidy.

This company is worth waiting for, they are very booked for a reason! Heidi and John are great to deal with, very professional, knowledgeable, honest and courteous The price to replace the siding was the same as other places we got quotes from, but the consultation was better, they clearly know exactly what they are doing and foresaw issues other places clearly did not.
The people on the crew they sent were friendly, and Jamie was great about communicating exactly what was happening every day. It isn't often you can say a building contractor is a total joy to deal with, but they truly were. Many thanks for a job that came out beautifully with minimal disruption.

Everyone was very professional and I enjoyed working with John and Heidi. They kept me updated as the work went on and when the guys would be coming out to work. I was having a separate remodel job happening around the same time which depended on some of the siding being completed beforehand. JABC were very accommodating to come out ahead of time to complete that part of the house so that the other work could begin.
I felt very comfortable working with them. They did not try to oversell on things I didn't need. Hardie may be more expensive than T11, but well worth the money. I can already tell a difference in how well insulated my house feels. I also won't have to worry about my siding rotting and falling apart again.
Overall, I am very please with the work JABC did. I feel like I have a brand new house, and I've received many compliments from my neighbors. I would definitely recommend JABC to anyone.

The work by JABC was excellent. This company replaced 90% of siding and 20+ windows on our 2-story home. The project was completed on time, and John Anderson worked with us to make sure a very large renovation project came in under budget. When unexpected additional repairs were discovered during reconstruction, this contractor fixed the problem properly, but without invoking costly change orders or additional charges. The team of builders was always friendly, courteous, and professional. I strongly recommend this company for siding and window replacement. My only criticism is that some of the interior finish work was not as clean and "neat" as other specialty providers. All in all though, our experience was very good and I will definitely use this company again.

John Anderson Building Contractor installed Hardiboard lap siding over existing wood T-11. The work has been very recently completed and I couldn't be happier with the result. The work is of high quality with attention to detail. Visual appearance of the finished result is excellent.
Here's how the work progressed:
1) Contact John Anderson regarding the project to set up an appointment for the following day. John arrived right on time and described the various options. On time appointments and on time work was a constant throughout the project. What a pleasant surprise this is compared to other builders.
2) Work started on the appointed day bright and early at 8am. By the end of the day dry-in was completed.
3) The siding material was to come the next day, but was delayed by the supplier by a week. Heide Anderson kept us informed almost daily about its delivery status.
4) Work recommenced on the day the material arrived with a crew of two or three working all day. The job required five days to complete. On each work day a crew of two worked a full eight hours towards project completion. The work was not hurried, just a moderate but steady pace. I believe this contributed significantly to high quality workmanship.
5) After completion all scrap was removed from the premises. We found very few nails that had not been picked up. John did a final walkthrough and explained some of the construction details and the need to perform work a certain way. The bulk of the project payment was paid after the walkthrough.
I recommend John Anderson Building Construction very highly. Both John and Heide are personable and reasonable. The employees are pleasant and careful with their work. This substantial project turned out to be such a pleasant experience. They certainly get my vote for the Super Service award.
