We were promptly contacted and setup with a time to get the estimate. They showed up on time and early, and gave a quick estimate. They followed up with the estimate and was scheduled the next day for the work. Again, showed up on time and early and worked straight through until the jobs were done. Very clean, professional and knowledgeable. Very pleased with the work.

Spoke with the owner, Logan, who sent Brian out to give me an estimate. Brian did all the work, and even came back when I needed a little extra help with the floor. They were both very professional, and I wouldn't hesitate to call on them again. Thanks guys!

Jack O Trades was very prompt and returned our call the day we left a message. They recommended a water leak detection service to first confirm how the window/front wall was leaking. This saved us a bunch of money because two prior contractors had totally different opinions on how water was leaking. Kenny then came to repair the window and wall. He was professional at calling ahead of time and showed up on time both mornings. He did an excellent job and you'd never know there was a huge rectangular hole in the wall when he was done - he even matched the texture from our existing wall to the new dry wall. We are very satisfied.

Workmen arrived on time. Finished job after suggesting worthwhile modifications. Came back next day for final clean up.

I finally found my go to service for all future house projects!

The work was mostly acceptable but the attention to detail - they put some tape on the walls that they didn't bother to remove. It was clearly noticeable and they just painted over it. They didn't clean the work surface very well.

When I saw the job after the first day of work I was extremely disappointed, and left a message to not send anyone to my house the next day. Logan called back shortly, and I explained that the work done so far was shoddily done. The workman barely cut along the edges of the rot, filled it with a scrap of wood, And puttied it over. In some places he puttied over rotted out areas – see photos where I stuck my finger right through. In follow up discussion with Logan, we agreed that he and I did not agree on how a rotted soffit should be repaired. I told Logan that I would pay the man for his time, but did not want to continue to have my soffits patched this way. I should note that Logan requires a 50% deposit to schedule work – I had sent a $400.00 deposit before receiving my final estimate which actually turned out to be more than what was required. I have attached my conversation with Logan, as well as photos of the work done. Despite several invitations, Logan never came to see the work himself. My final conversation with Logan was via telephone and ended in a stalemate. Despite several invitations, Logan never came to see the work himself. I never received any receipts for materials or itemized bill. I received a check in the mail from him a week later for $28 and change – I have no idea what it was for and have not cashed the check. I maintain that the $250.00 I offered was more than generous to cover the scraps of material used and the workers time, yet Logan has retained $400.00 of my money (minus his check which I have not cashed = 372.) Logan did not do the right thing.

Loved them. From Logan who got all my up front info and scheduled the appointment to Kenny who did the actual work, they were great at their jobs and just nice guys. They were punctual and called when they said they would. Kenny replaced 2 banks of lights for me, repaired a door that was off its hinges and got a ceiling fan working again. I've already got a list started for future projects for them to do as soon as I budget for them. Highly recommend them....they are my group for home repairs for as long as they'll have me.

Awesome job indeed... Steve was sent to complete the job, driving from the other side of Tampa to Valrico. Arrived on time in the morning, assessed the issue and provided me with the facts and options. Given his many years experience, asked the questions I wouldn't have thought of for me then let me and my wife select the options. Installed in the time he said it would take and even painted in attempt to match the original style. Did a great job in keeping the area clean and attention to detail was unmatched. Steve was also a great conversationalist while he worked providing lots of insight in answers to questions both I and my spouse plagued him with. Definately a great contractor as advertised. Answered the request for help in angie's list when no other local companies would and even provided a small discount for my military service. Excellent beginning to end service from JackOtrade!

Excellent: Jack O Trades picked up where a former handyman left me hanging. Logan contacted me after I left a message. We discussed the issue and I was given an estimate. A few days later Steve made the repair and the cost was within the price range quoted by Logan...couldn't be easier.

Amazing! Bryan completed all tasks in a day. He couldn't do the sliding door but that was a manufacturer issue. He was well prepared.

A good faith estimate was provided for all material and labor prior to the work being performed. Once we agreed to the price and material, the work was scheduled and over 2 day period. Steve, the contractor, was very attentive to details and assure all work was completed as desired. The damaged pocket door was jammed and very difficult to remove. Steve did an outstanding job removing the door without damaging the flooring or wall. The 4 interior doors each had to be measured and cut to fit. Steve again did a great job assuring each door fit accurately within the door frame and jam. Due to weather conditions, We had to to wait 1 week to finish framing and hanging 1 door. But Steve assured us he will finish and we did not have to pay until he competed all the work. Steve also cleaned up any debris and trash when he was done. Overall it was an outstanding job.

The team from Jack O' Trades were very professional. When I called with the issue, the owner explained how the business operated and set up the appointment. When the technician arrived he saw the issue and went straight to work. He replaced the rotten boards quickly and then stained the deck. Everyone raves at the excellent work.

We needed to have the lanai ceiling repaired – the drywall tape had been falling off for years, and so had the texture. I did some research on Angie’s List and in the end we picked Jack O’Trades for several reasons: 1. We liked Steve’s approach of putting up plywood and painting it instead of taking off the drywall entirely. A lot less messy and more convenient. 2. We liked the fact that Steve did both the estimate and the actual work. Oftentimes, a different person does the work and there can be disconnects between the estimate and the actual work. We also liked that Steve could do it all, from plywood to paint to texture to electrical. 3. We found Logan to be very approachable. I called him, he answered right away and was able to discuss the project at length. We also texted back and forth, which was convenient. 4. This was one of the few companies that actually came to the house, and also emailed an actual estimate rather than a ballpark figure or a phone estimate. They also guarantee their work for a year, many companies don’t. 5. The whole job was cheaper than the other estimates, even if it was more expensive than I wanted to spend. The job took 6 days in all. Steve came prepared every morning, and was friendly and pleasant to deal with. He also knew exactly what he was doing. For the lanai, Steve attached plywood, going through the drywall. He took his time and made sure everything fit perfectly. He added thin strips of wood to the seams and also at the edges, and painted the entire area. He reinstalled lights and installed a new fan we had bought. In the front porch, unable to go the plywood route, he fixed then re-textured and painted the area. We love the way everything looks. The lanai ceiling is painted rather than textured and looks sleek and modern; and the front porch looks like it never had an issue! You really couldn’t tell it was ever fixed. Overall, we found Jack O’Trades to be efficient, friendly, professional and affordable. We would definitely recommend them to anyone, and plan to hire them again to fix a few things around the house (we have a growing list).

I selected this company because they do excellent work. I had contacted another electrical firm and they sent out someone to do an estimate, but it was obvious that they might not have the expertise to do the job. Logan, the owner, is a problem solver so I knew that he would do a good job. I wanted the fans vented to the outside and knew that venting them through the soffit was a possibility rather than the roof which can be tricky unless you are reroofing. The electrician was on time, knowledgeable, professional and cleaned up after the work was done. In each bathroom, he had to cut into the ceiling, install the fan, go up in the attic, make a trip to the store for the vent pipe, change the light switch from a single to a double, and install the vent pipe. The fans work beautifully pulling the moisture out of the air. My daughter and her family couldn't be happier.

Kenny showed up right on time and did all the work very quickly and at a reasonable price. I have already recommended them to friends and family.

On receipt of my request Kenny responded promptly to assess the situation and to render an estimate of time and expense involved. Giving me time to assess the costs and to find matching paint, Kenny set an appointment to return to make the repairs. And I am pleased to say that it happened just like that just like I hoped and that is all. No surprises. Good job. And I have invited them back. It is a good thing to have access to a reliable handyman.

Last year my husband and I attempted to install laminate hardwood floors, in both our master bedroom and guest bedroom. While we successfully did that, we did not finish the install in both of the closets. I contacted Logan back in December for a quote for the installation of hardwood, in both closets- and he gave me a very fair and competitive rate! We decided to not do the install until we recently moved out of the property, and Logan honored the same rate he gave us back in December. He is very prompt with communication, and upholds all his appointments. I would highly recommend, as well as use Jack O' Trades again in the future!
