Jack O Trades

Logan, the owner, listened to our needs and advised me on changes to our requirements that saved us money on some of the hardware. He is very professional, prompt and courteous. His team is as professional as he is. They did a great job on all of our repairs, finished on time and left the place spotless. We couldn't be happier and intend to use Jack o' Trades for all of our repairs in the future.

They were fast, using a big crew. I am happy with the results. He followed up with phone calls. He did a good job. I think his price is a little high, but I knew that ahead of time. I think you get what you pay for.

The carpenter - an employee of the company - was on time, did a reasonably thorough evaluation and provided an assessment that the structure appeared safe for our intended useage. He also did some measurements, looked at the materials of construction and said his boss would get back to us on Monday (1/31/2011) with and estimate. The estimate described a plan for re-inforcement of the understructure of the stage which we judged very sound and reasonable in cost. We used this evaluation and estimate in our deliberation as to what would be involved if we were to take a worst case scenario and try to minimize any danger of failure to the stage floor. Our level of useage was such that we thought it not necessary to re-inforce the substructure

Logan and his team are professional and the paver install went in without a problem. The crew left the project cleaned up and the quality is very good. I will be using Jack'o trades again to clean and seal all my pavers.

he did all the work himself except he sub'd out the birdcage work. he was prompt, polite and skilled. he charged more than i thought the jobs would cost, but he did a great job. i was very satisfied with the experience

Logan from Jack O Trades was very professional. We had him remove a tub and shower unit in our second bathroom, and replace it with a walk in tiled ceramic tile shower, with a sliding glass door. They did a great job and we were very happy. Cleaned up the mess every day before they left and finished the job in about 4 days. We just used them again to replace our carpeting with pergo flooring. Yes, we will use them again if we have another project.

Great job! Done in approx. 1/2 day. Very professional and nice guys to work with. This, however, didn't include prep for painting or the painting. They explained that it was such a small job that they would have to come back (wood has to sit for 1 month) and would need to charge additional. That did not present a problem for me as this hopefully, will become a "honey-do" and maybe actually get done.

I emailed and called to make an appointment...took several days for a call-back...we made a specific appointment and no one showed, nor did they call back to explain or reschedule

He does excellent work but it isn't cheap.

Logan was very prompt in answering our inquiry for service, and he provided a detailed estimate of materials and labor required to do the job. He and his assistants showed up on time on the scheduled day, performed the work with skill and care, and cleaned up and carried away all debris related to the job. The invoice was professionally prepared and matched what we expected to pay based on the estimate. Two weeks after the job was completed, I asked Logan for some documentation to show that the door we purchased had an Energy Star rating. He contacted the manufacturer on our behalf and provided the documentation quickly.

The company never returned my phone calls and did not answer their phone.

There were no problems with them, I just decided to call a few more people before I picked one.

I was optimistic after I read all of the positive reviews. I emailed the company and received a call the next day. An appointment for an estimate was set up for the following day at 12 noon. The provider was a no show. Not even a call to inform me he would have to reschedule. I was very disappointed as I consider my time valuable.

I was very happy with the work he did. He ended-up using a subcontractor for the work. I wasn't present when it was done, but things went well.

He gave me two options that he offered for the doors. It took him about 2hrs to install them. I did know doors would be unfinished. However, I feel the price was expensive for the quality of door in the end.

My overall service was excellent. We contacted Logan because of the excellent previous reviews on Angie's List. A day later, he came out for an estimate on all the projects we listed, He was clear on what the projects would entail, and the best way to do them. That evening, we received a formal quote via email and I responded which ones I would like to do. We set a date for about a week later. On the day of the work, the workmen doing the gutters were prompt, efficient, and consulted with us on any options before proceeding. Logan and his assistant came out to do the smaller projects and check on the work of the gutter installers. All the work was done by early afternoon.

Overall we are completely satisfied. The kitchen turned out the way we hoped it would. We discussed several options with Logan in regards to how the new kitchen would be laid out, as well as the overall look. After talking through several designs we decided to move forward with the plans. Here are the positives and negatives that we encountered along the way: Positives - 1) Kitchen looks incredible. 2) Issues were discussed and resolved to our satisfaction. 3) It was completed in a relatively good timeframe. 4) Logan responded quickly to any calls and/or emails. Negatives - 1) Several quotes for items of work were very high, we had our tile done by a contractor for close to half of what Logan quoted to us. 2) To point #1, several things are subcontracted, so some things were not done to what I think Logan would consider his level of quality. 3) Quality control - We ordered cabinets through an installer that Logan had suggested, and had several quality issues that should have been caught by the installer or Logan and not us. 4) Pricing/Line items - We had to review each invoice change carefully as there were several errors. We also asked about the Angies list coupon and was told he would not accept it. In the end, like I mentioned above, we absolutely love the way the kitchen turned out. I think that if Logan could have recapped all of our meetings (to ensure we are all on the same page), quality controlled his subs, and priced things a little better he would definitely be an A+. -----------Response------------- Obviously he doesn't respond to customer experience based suggestions well. 1) WE MENTIONED WE WERE ANGIES LIST CUSTOMERS DAY ONE, YET WE WEREN'T TOLD ABOUT THE COUPON. WHEN WE DID FIND THE COUPON WE SAW NO STIPULATIONS ON IT. 2) Logan did not do the tile work as part of the kitchen and in fact qouted us close to double what we had it down for. And the floors turned out beautiful. We were quouted on a backyard fence also which the next closest quote was almost 1/2 of Logan's quote. This is not bias just facts, based on the many quotes we received. 3) You are, right quality control is not a lab. But when we the customer has to point out obvious issues when you have seen the finished product before us, it does show a bit of oversight. Just one example is a cabinet that was ordered, unpacked, and installed on the wall with a completely different panel that the rest of the cabinets. This went through at least 3 people before us seeing it, yet we had to point it out and justify why it needs to be replaced. 4) Yes you are correct, look at the first line, but also look at the last line where we suggest things that would have made this project an A+. You don't take them as suggestions even though we clearly have justification for all of the grades.

I found Jack O Trades on Angie's List, called him, and Logan was out later that afternoon taking measurements on my deck. Two days later it was pressure washed, and 3 days after that it was stained. Logan was very friendly and communicated with me throughout the entire process, and I am very happy with the outcome, knowing my deck is safe from the elements for a few years!

He was prompt, very clean, and precise in his work. He knows what he is doing. I would hire again.
