Jack O Trades

Called Jack O'Trades on Wed. 5/20 left a detailed phone message explaining what I needed along with my contact information. As of Friday 5/22, I had not received a call back. On 5/24 we did receive a call back, maybe in response to this review? The individual advised that they could do the job and to contact them for an appointment. We have since gone with another company and have notified Jack O'Trades via e-mail of that.

They responded promptly to my initial request (due to personal limitations, I had little time to wait for the quote), sending someone the same day to assess the job. A reasonable quote followed shortly after, and the job was scheduled. The work was completed in a day, and everything went very well and looks very good. I would also comment on the convenience aspect of the services in terms of prompt email communications and the ability to pay online with a credit card. I do not live at the property full time and Logan was very accommodating to my schedule and unusual situation. Given the company provides a variety of services, I think I have found my "go to" handyman for whatever else comes up.

We had been doing only the minimum of repairs for about 10 years and putting off whatever we could, so we had a long list of items that needed work, in almost every room in our house. Steve was assigned to us. He was FANTASTIC! Steve was very patient, explaining everything and discussing different options. His work was impeccable on every project, big or small. He even accompanied us to Home Depot to explain how to approach the selection and purchase of the higher ticket items on our list. Steve took our long list, broke it down into priority levels, then just worked his way through the entire list. This list is too long to reproduce here, but I bet it looks a lot like most people's home repair lists. Some were improvements we wanted to make, like adding some custom shelves to an office; others were serious, like a leak in the ceiling; and most were things we'd just been putting off for years, like repairing that squeaky garage door and repainting baseboards. As lifelong renters, we don't know how to do most of these repairs, nor do we have the tools or the time, so this is exactly the service that we needed and the outcome that we were hoping for! We will definitely call on Jack O'Trades in the future!

Very Good. The came on time. Created and framed the opening. Made a removable door and finished the project in about 7 hours. Both of the carpenters were very courteous. They left the area where they were working clean, like they hadn't been there.

We were contacted promptly, and advised that Kenny would be coming by to give the quote. Kenny contacted us to confirm the time and then showed up on time. Following the inspection a quote was made and accepted and the work was completed the same day. Kenny did a fabulous job. We had a couple areas of the work that were a bit more stubborn and needed a second pass, and contacted the company. Kenny called and was out the next morning and touched those up promptly. We've had no issues with the work. Everything looks great and we are very pleased with the outcome. I would highly recommend Jack O'Trades and will definitely use them again for further repairs in my home.

Steve's attention to detail is excellent. He has a great eye and is a perfectionist. We are glad he has a lot of experience because he was able to make sound recommendations to certain things that we would not have otherwise known were necessary and we are glad he pointed them out. He is innovative and found a way to make a job work that had limitations and challenges, especially for our old house. He did a great job, we are very happy with the work and already have plans to re-schedule additional things we would like done to the house. Steve was positive, enthusiastic and great to work with which is a big plus. We had a lot of work for him and had changes that added to his time and we appreciate that he did not "cut corners" but instead did what he could the best way he could in the time we had scheduled. He's worth the wait for when he's available to return to finish. We gave him a lot to do and we appreciate his level of detail and professionalism. The only items remaining were installing a door knob in the bathroom door, painting the soffit/roof rafter tails and painting or staining the porch.

It was exactly as I hoped for! The handyman was on time, provided brochures when I opened the door, guaranteed the work, and went to work the the kind of diligence that only someone with experience can do.

I had a number of repairs that needed to be done to prep my house for sale. Called various Handyman to get estimates and selected Jack O' Trades based on positive reviews on Angies list and a very competitive price. Logan, the owner/coordinator, was great to work with. He answered my many questions and was always courteous. Steve, the Handyman, was outstanding. He was on time, professional, neat, and knew exactly what he was doing. Every time he encountered a problem, he went the extra mile to resolve it. In addition, when my Wife asked him to touch up a spot he did it with a smile. I highly recommend Jack O' Trades. Thanks Logan and Steve for a job well done!!

They came over 8:30am on the morning of March 31st, took a look, measured, listened to what I wanted, then quoted a price. I agreed, and Steve went to Home Depot (I think), bought the materials, came back and went to work. By 4:00pm the job was done an cleaned up.

Looked over fence with someone from Jack O' Trades after finding them on Angie's List. He gave an estimate that morning (8 a.m.), left to buy some supplies and completed the job that same morning. Was happy with the work, professionalism, knowledge, etc. Would definitely recommend Jack O' Trades for fence repairs.

We are selling our home and had to repair some rotting exterior wood trim. I really did not have time to get multiple estimates so I just picked one of the top rated services on Angieslist. Overall, the work itself turned out fairly well. Everything was don on time and the work was done well. The only issue I had was with the cost which was $930 to repair three fairly small areas of the exterior of the house. Materials were only $78 which left $850 which represented a little over a half days work.

I was able to purchase my own materials of travertine tile. Asked if the installation job could be done without using grout, so that the natural beauty of the stone and the natural depressions would still show and not be filled with in with grout. The project organizer conferred with one of their expert tile masters, and he said they could do the job without using the grout. It came out absolutely beautiful! They were true craftsmen and took care in communicating the various options in the minor details and taking the time to make sure the job was flawless - as if they were doing the job for a personal friend or family member. They even send me a card around the holidays. Overall, a great value for perfection; I would use them again.

Simply put: this company GETS it. Logan Steege is a consummate professional; easy to reach, polite as all get up, and really appreciates his customers. Scheduling with Jack O'Trades is a snap. I love that the service provider confirms the day before...to include providing a contact phone number that he (Kenny, who we used twice) answers. Jack O'Trades is a far cry from other handymen (via referrals, Angie's List) that endlessly cancelled, didn't show up, and/or claimed the job too small. Logan fit us in less than 3 business days later on both instances. Kenny (our service provider) was punctual, thorough, and - like Logan - uber professional. His repair work on our bathroom hardware exceeded expectations in its craftsmanship. He's also very good at problem solving on the fly...and displayed exceptional patience in addressing my questions/concerns. He works diligently but doesn't rush...and the attention to detail shows. I'm also a big fan of his ensuring complete satisfaction before calling it a day. He also cleans up behind every aspect of a job...which, again, reeks of utmost professionalism. If there's a catch...it's knowing how this business model works. There's a minimum $150 cost, so you're best to assemble a list of tasks needed to be done before doing them. Also and with any top rate business, you get what you pay for. What you don't, however, pay for is nickel and dime nonsense nor marked up materials. Kenny sized up needs...then left and returned with exactly what materials was needed. While this adds a little time to a job, I appreciate not wasting money toward completing it. Overall cost is determined by complexity - stated up front by Kenny in both instances - plus materials (which he determines based on above). Payment is done after the job via email invoice. I, for one, like separating payment from service provider. Jack O'Trades logically warranties their work...as any good business does.

Ken was very experienced in dall phases of home construction and repair.

They were great. I appreciated with their clever way of figuring out a solution.

Kenny did a wonderful job with everything. Both doors had issues ( one a little small the other a little big) but he made the adjustments and they fit perfectly and look great. There was also a problem when he removed the 20+ year old toilet and he took care of that too. The jobs took 2 days. Kenny was on time, worked very clean and was very pleasant. I will definitely call Jack O' Trades for my next " I can't do it myself " project.

It took a couple of days for a response but everything else proceeded in a timely way. The estimate was done using extensive examinations including photos. The evaluation was much more through, and included options, than several other handymen that gave estimates. Work started immediately after I approved the estimate. Removing one vanity exposed drywall damage in a corner caused by long term leaking plumbing. This required a change order and increased costs to repair the damage. I was consulted and offered options throughout the project. Because of the change order they were unable to complete the work in one day and they returned two days later because of a medical appointment I had the next day. I was very impressed with the knowledge, skills and personalities of the two repairmen. Their costs were the highest of several bids; but, you get what you pay for. I have several other projects in the future and they are at the top of my list to do them. Everything was completed to my satisfaction.

They are the best. I had my estimate and work scheduled quickly and easily. I always need little things done at home that I can't do myself along with larger repairs and it's never an issue. This is the third time I've used them and each time I had zero issues, the work was done beautifully and their price is great. I will use again and again and would most definitely recommend them to anyone. In addition to needing repair to my drywall from a roof leak, I also had a crack on my outside facade that I had added after my original estimate. There were no issues or problems having it done and my home looks great.

He was on time and professional, did everything we asked him to do. He was also honest about stuff that we could probably do ourselves. For instance, we showed him a problem with our gutter and he told us how to do it ourselves for a lower price, which was nice. He stayed about 5 hours.

Installer showed up on time, He asked questions as needed but besides that he just worked quietly.

Initial contact was very timely. We had trouble getting in sync (I cannot take my phone into my work so I kept getting voicemail from him, then leaving him a voicemail in the evening), but he was persistent and we finally got in touch. Scheduled appointment for the following weekend. Showed up on time. Very professional. Surveyed the job, let me know what parts he would need, and he ran to go get them at local hardware store. Provided a receipt for materials and started the work. Finished in a couple hours. He was personable and easy going. I was very happy with all the work performed.

Logan was super-easy to work with when scheduling for the job. Bryan and Ben were both courteous and professional, and arrived at my house when they said they would. The job itself was a one-day job. During the course of the job, if they happened to have questions for me they were never afraid to ask and completed the work to my specifications.. They both did a wonderful job, and the new full sized closet looks awesome. I am very pleased with the result, and the price was reasonable to boot. I would definitely work with Logan and his team for any future jobs/projects on my house.
