Zero stars! This company was the second insulation company that we went to because the first tried to charge us an additional $5,000 after the contract had been signed and the siding was off of my home. They came out, gave us a quote, and agreed to start work later in the week. We signed a contract to boot! They refused to spray foam on the scheduled day because there was no scaffolding on the house and noted that it would cost significantly more than the agreed upon price, which is ridiculous because it was never mentioned in the contract or on the site visit. We arranged for scaffolding to be put up at our own cost, and then they were supposed to come back the next day to spray. They refused to show up because it was "too windy" and they could only spray below 5mph wind. We had to leave our house completely open over the weekend risking damage to the entire structure. They proceeded to cancel the past three days because of "wind" even though it was less than 5mph all 3 mornings. This morning they called to say they could not do the job because they had started another job and they would not be finished for several days. BUYER BEWARE! Do NOT use this company. What a bunch of scammers. Very disappointing to be taken advantage of and risk serious damage to our home. I honestly cannot fathom how a company can stay in business while refusing to do work for honest people that want to pay for their services???? Mind blown!

When it came time to commit to the job, they were stunned that it was a stick house and not a block which I had repeatedly stated and he understood. They said they would get back to me. I had the estimate done in Dec and told them it would be after the new year that I would have the work done. I have called their main office and the person there supposedly notified Jimmy by text to call me, this process has been repeated four times and never once did I get a call back. Not very professional in responding, will not do any business with this company.
Description of Work: They came out promptly and surveyed the job and gave me a quote. The quote was very reasonable, the representative was personable and professional.

After having TECO out for a home energy audit, it was found I had no insulation in the attic. TECO gave us a list of companies to use and a $200 credit for insulation to atleast an R-26. Bayside was on TECO's list and had a good Angie's List rating. They quoted us $54 + TECO's $200. I upgraded to R30 so my out of pocket was $94.00. R30 would be 10.25and quot;. Once done, they had me check, I would say there was 12and quot; of insulation. Bayside was clean, swept up after themselves and very polite and professional. My one problem was on the day scheduled, when they did not arrive I called, seems there was a managment change and they lost our phone number and did not have the info for how much insulation would be needed. That was a Thursday morning, they rescheduled for Saturday morning between 8 and 8:30. They arrived at 8:15 and were gone by 9:30. I am very please with the work and the price. We were quoted between $1200 and $1400 for the work from 3 other contractors prior to TECO and Bayside. BIG savings$$$$.

DId job promptly as promised. Extra bonus was getting us in quickly in the middle of December, so that we could use the cost towards the current tax year. We notice about a 20% reduction in electric bills, and estimate 5 years until payoff, not counting the tax deduction.

Victor came to my house to evaluate the house and prepare me an estimate. Thereafter, we communicated by e-mail and it was clear that Victor was not prompt in responding. Nevertheless, once we got the job scheduled, the teams were on time. This was a two day job (actually, two half-days). The first day a team came to remove the old insulation. As it was understood that my goal was to remove the old insulation and any other accumulatons of dust, dead bugs, etc from 30 years, I could only rate their performance as a "B". They missed areas of insulation and left other material lying around that could have and should have been removed by a professional. The next day, a second team (man and woman) came to install the new insulation. I showed them the material that had been left behind and they did their best to remove it by hand (they were only equipped to blow insulation, not suck out old material). This team did a good job and rate an "A". There was a little mess with some insulation falling into the garage. They cleaned up as best they could, but I am suprised they don't carry a Shop-Vac with them. Progress Energy made an inspection of the attic a month later to verify the work by Bayside. The inspector was pleased with the work and was familiar with the team that did the install. He indicated that they were consistently good with their jobs.
Description of Work: Bayside removed my old blown insulation (at my desire - they did not try to sell me this service) and added new blown insulation to bring the attic to an R-30 rating.

Had a Tampa Electric home energy audit of my mother's home to confirm insulation needed and go get the $150 rebate. I then did research as to types of insulation available as we really were not keen on the blown in type but due to pricing, that's what we settled on. TECO gave us a list of their approved contractors, I researched most of them on Angie's list, read their reports and called 3 of them for quotes - one company did not answer their phone. Bayside was one of the top 2 with the number of reports and all were positive. Bayside and the other contractor were both helpful and informative on the phone and provided quotes. They both said they used Ownens Corning insulation but their terminology for the product differed enough to confuse me because there was a significant price difference so I wondered if they used different products. I went to the Owens Corning site but this product is not listed and wound up calling their Customer Service - came to conclusion both contractors were using the same product and one contractor was charging more than the other so Bayside won my business. They arrived hours early - the driver had not been given my phone number to call ahead - better early than late or not at all. It worked out well. They were pleasant, nice, professional. We didn't have to move the car out of the garage or anything stored near the airspace entrance. They did a good job, cleaned up afterwards and advised TECO would be coming back to verify. They also advised that we had almost zero insulation over the master bedroom on the far side of the house. Cost was $436 for 1,746 sf of insulation to take us to R-30. Minus the $150 TECO rebate, we paid only the $286. I'll be doing my house next and will be using Bayside.
Easy to contact and set up appointment. Salesman came to house on time, measured and offered completive pricing. Scheduling easy, crew showed up early, job completed professionally within time frame.

We got our intial estimate over the phone. After obtaining other estimates, Bayside's price was the best. We called them back with lots of questions which they answered. They came out to do a visual inspection/estimate and their price went down. The work was scheduled for a few days later. On the day the work was performed, the weather was threatening. They arrived early and the work was complete before the rain came. And the best part is my toes are now nice and warm.

I have tried one other installer before . They came and said that they can not go through the attic access in my garage for the insulation and i should have one more access point inside the house. I called up handy man and decided to build one but my house AC duct work in such a way that even more access would not help but will 3 more which would not have look good. Then i ended up trying these guys and they were able to go through that narrow opening and do the insulation work.
Description of Work: Added R-19 Insulation through the roof corner to corner. I have not received the new utility bills yet but i can feel the difference during the day.

I originally located this company at the St. Petersburg Home Show in January of 2010. We scheduled an appointment for an estimate at their booth on the day of the show. The day the estimate was scheduled to occur we waited an hour and a half past the scheduled appointment time. At that time I called the company to inquire what happened. I was informed the company's representative (Jimmie) was ten minutes away. Unfortunately, this did not make a good professional impression from the beginning. After the representative inspected the area, he made some recommendations regarding products and provided an estimate with two options depending upon products used. I then discussed several questions I had (interestingly, one of the reasons he gave for choosing his company was that they were on Angies List!). I told him my wife and I would have to discuss the options and let him know our decision. Later I called to schedule the work and had to leave a message on the rep's cell phone. After not hearing from him I called again. This time I spoke directly with the rep. He asked if he could call me back. I agreed but never heard from him again. It always concerns me when you have such a lack of communication before you hire a contractor, what likelyhood you will hear from them again if you encounter a problem with the service performed.
Description of Work: Made an appointment for a company representative to inspect my home and provide an estimate to install insulation under the floor and on one wall of the living room in my home. After an inspection and discussion with the companies representative an estimate was provided.

We found them in a home show and we were very pleased with them. I thought that the sales person was very honest and forthright. There were a question or two that he couldn’t answer, but he found out the answer for us in a timely fashion. As soon as we wanted to schedule them, they were here. They finished the job and did a good job of covering. They used aluminum sheeting to make collars for the recess lights that we have. Other people that we had had up here never said anything about it. I have already recommended them to a neighbor.
