Jerry was professional and courteous when coming to give me an estimate for the work to be done. His team did the work in a timely manner. They removed deadwood, lower limbs, trimmed and removed palm fronds and a piece of bird of paradise that was pressing against my pool cage, and removed a root from the base of an oak tree. I thought the price was high, but I did hire them because Jerry is a certified arborist as I was concerned that I had disease in one of my trees. All in all, I was very satisfied with their work.

The service is first rate. The manager and the staff are very professional and the work is accomplished to a very high standard. This is the second time we use this company's service and we will keep them as our Tree Service for as long as we have trees...

The initial visit was with the owner. He was very knowledgeable and friendly and showed me exactly what needed to be done. I had several other quotes that were more expensive and didn't feel as thorough or spot on. The crew showed up on time as scheduled and the job was completed within the day. My trees look excellent, I have more sunlight in my yard and the appointment was effortless.

They left the place in immaculate order and did everything I asked and asked me if they could trim a few things they felt needed doing. It is the first time I had a tree service that actually cost what they quote. I usually get a quote and then they later tell me it took so much more time and ask for more money. Independent tree service gave me exactly what I needed and quoted accurately. I also did not need to be watching them! They were fabulous and very polite!

I have used Independent Tree exclusively for years. This time I belong to Angie's list and can share the information with more than just my neighbors. Jerry Upcavage runs a very professional and effcient company. Jerry will determine the needs of the trees and supply a quote. A date is scheduled. His crew is efficient, polite and interested in completing the job to your satisfaction. They always clean the yard and mulch the waste on site. I wouldn't think of contacting or recommending any other company to care for my trees.

First, Jerry came out and gave me an estimate. Jerry was very personable and professional. He explained to everything they would do and showed me every tree limb they would be cutting. With the hedge, he explained all that was entailed as well. They aggressively trimmed a big oak tree in the backyard. Then they also completely removed these horrible hedges in the front of the house (the stumps and all). These bushes are very difficult to remove. In addition, they meticulously cleaned up after themselves. Also, when I stopped by while they were working, the crew was very nice and personable to talk to. They are terrific! I definitely recommend them (in fact I already have twice) and will use them again!

They showed up when promised. No unexpected surprises. The cost was exactly what they quoted me two weeks ago. The cleaned up all the debris from the yard, Wonderful job. This is the second time I have used them and will do so again.

I needed 2 oak trees trimmed because there were at lot of dead branches, branches almost touching the ground plus a large one hanging over the house. Jerry came and gave me an estimate. The other company I called for an estimate never even called me back. I then scheduled Independent for the following week. The crew showed up and did a great job. They even took away branches that we had piled in the yard. They did such a wonderful clean up, that the yard looked better than when they started. Even though they had to drag everything from the backyard to the front because our gate wasn't big enough for the truck to get through, you'd never even know it because they raked everything up. I wouldn't hesitate to use them again or recommend them to anyone who needs any kind of tree service.

A crew of 4 arrived and they were very professional. Took them about 2 hours from beginning to end and that included a meticulous cleaning up. Even the street surface did not show a sign of tree trimming and shredding activity. The crew got back with me about how much to trim and also explained to me the work they did. I was most impressed though with two things: the trimmed trees look great afterwards and they cleaned up perfectly. Two thumbs up.

It went well. I was happy and would use them again.

Perfect experience. The crew showed up when they said they would. Came to the door to make sure I knew they had arrived. Then asked me to wait a few minutes for Jerry to arrive to confirm the work required. That went smoothly. At one point, Jerry asked me to confirm how much I wanted remove from the tree to make sure I would be happy. As he said, we can always take off more, but can't glue it back. :) It was a nice touch. I was most impressed by the cleanup done. I actually think my yard looks better now. Would definitely use again when I need tree work and highly recommend to anyone looking for same. I thought the price was very reasonable.

The first time I used him, was when my neighbors Oak tree broke off and fell on top of my house. It was a huge portion of the tree and I had to have a professional come out and remove it. Not only did he do the work, he assessed my whole yard and he was very willing to share his knowledge. I was concerned with the health of 2 of the older trees on my property. He is an Arborist and he explained so much to me. The truck he used to remove the tree was so heavy that it left deep ruts in the yard so he filled those as well. The clean up was exceptional. The 2nd time he came out because my neighbor was upset about my Magnolia Tree shedding leaves into his yard. He came out and spoke with my neighbor and he pruned the Magnolia and the Camphor tree in my yard. The 3rd time he came out was because there was a long branch of the Camphor tree hanging over my home. He came out and he pruned that branch. I have had such a good experience with him. I know what I am getting when I have him out to do work. I would highly recommend him to anyone.

Things went very well. The owner is an arborist, so he knows exactly what to do with the trees. He knows that they shouldn't be cut back completely. We have a lot of oak trees, and he knows that the saplings should be left there; that's not the way most tree trimmers do it. I appreciate his knowledge; our trees are doing much better since he's been here.

This was in spring or early summer, we were looking into hurricane season because, of course, we are in Florida. We needed to get the trees trimmed. They not only did the work but they also suggested some other work that they did that I would never have thought about and had we not, if we would have had hurricane it could have been detrimental to our property.

The cost was a little high but it probably was in the ballpark. We thought that $2400 to cut a tree at this point in the season was a little high, but again, it might not be, for the amount of work that was needed to be done. We didn?t want to put out that amount at the present time. We did get another estimate that was a little bit lower. We met him at a tree mart, and he was very nice and knowledgeable. My husband was impressed with him. I left a message and he called me back. I didn?t call him back for about 2 or 3 days but he followed up. He followed up even after giving us the estimate. He was proposing to get a crane and 2 or 3 men to work on the job. We told him that we weren?t at the present time interested in getting the job done. I looked him up on Angie?s List and he was listed there too. I would use him in the future, if necessary.

The crew arrived and looked at the tree to confirm estimate. They then began to very efficiently remove the limbs and trim the tree.they used a bucket truck to reach the tree over a block wall from a road that runs behind the property. As the trimming progressed one crew member tossed limbs to another crew member to be put into the chipper. They then cleaned up. very smooth operation. I am very pleased with this company.

I can't say enough good things about Jerry Upcavage and his crew. Fast call back and very reasonable estimate, plus Jerry made sure I got the Angie's List discount! One of my priorities was that I wanted a certified Arborist and boy, did we get the best of the best! They worked for over 8 hours with barely a break for lunch and turned our trees into masterpieces on one of the hottest of Florida days. One of the reasons we bought this home was that it looked like an English cottage in an old forest - now it looks like we live in a beautiful fairyland in the woods! This company and it's employees are nothing short of amazing, hard-working, artists with all the right knowledge and heavy bucket trucks, tools and love of what they do. They didn't even leave a twig behind afterward, either. It sure didn't hurt that I had 3 very handsome and fit guys running all over my yard for the day! Don't even hesitate to call this company for your tree work!

My mother's yard in Lakeland had "several" very large Oak tress that were over grown and limbs came over the roof of the house. Jerry came out and took a look and told us what needed to be done and how much it would cost. He scheduled an appointment for two bucket trucks and a crew of men. They worked all day and when they were finished the job was beautiful. The house looks much better from the road and I am sure the roof is much safer in the current storm situation! He told us that it would only need to be done every five years. His price was very reasonable considering we had limbs removed in past years that were very expensive and were not done by a "true" tree company. The other company brought ladders and hand saws...now we know better!

I left a message & was called back right away. He explained that Spanish Moss is non-parasitic and will not harm the tree so it isn't necessary to remove it. However, it does add weight and some people like to get rid of it. The only way Independent takes it out is by hand-picking and you get immediate results. Or, the tree can be sprayed (Independent does not do spraying) and it will eventually fall out. Since it is a small tree we decided to hand-pick the moss out ourselves. We really appreciated the honest information and he saved us from spending money unnecessarily.

Jerry came out and gave estimate. We scheduled it for the next week. They arrived early in the morning on time. Crew had branch grinders that emptied into large truck. Had large crane or lift like metal thing that spread out in driveway allowing them to remove branches about 35 feet high and access top of tree. Men worked hard and were in an out quickly.

During an evening storm, a tree in front of the house fell over into the street and right-of-way. County would only remove portions in street and right-of-way the next day. Independent tree was able to provide visit/estimate that same day and have crew remove remainder of tree the following day thus minimizing damage to lawn. The job was promptly and professionally done.

Did an excellent job. Completed the work within a week. We have a difficult entry to our home and he took the necessary steps to ensure our grass was not torn up. Cleaned up properly and in a timely manner. Got the job done and in a creative way.

Called Jerry, he returned call within an hour. Stated he would come by and give estimate, which he did that very after noon. I agreed to the price and set a date for services. He came on that very day. The men were very professionally dressed. Used many ropes to keep branches from free falling. Did an excellent job even cleaning up. Outstanding job. This team was great.

Excellent experience. They actually did more work than was on the estimate. During the estimate process, it was completely explained what we needed and why. They didn't try to upsell or perform work that wasn't needed. Cleanup was first rate and they hauled everything away. This is a really good company that obviously knows what they are doing.
