Independent Tree Service Inc

A large oak tree in my front yard was hanging over the road too close for the HOA, which got me in trouble a couple of times. Instead of trying to trim it to code myself, I called Independent Tree Services for a quote. Jordan came out to see the tree in order to give me the quote. He noted that the tree had been topped off badly in the past and they would also clean up some of the dead branches that the topping caused. He also let me know about one of my other trees in the yard that was growing at a split and could one day be a risk of breaking apart and hitting my house. I requested the crew show up on Wednesday, since I was home that day and Jordan was able to make it happen. The crew showed up as scheduled and completed their work fairly quickly. They clean up very well after completion. The tree looked great and was trimmed up just as I had requested it. The HOA should not be bugging me about this tree for a long time. I will definitely use them again, when that time comes.

The two man team arrived on time. The team lead Austin and I walked the yard and reviewed the work. The team did a very professional job on each segment of the work. They were careful not to trample existing landscaping and with how they removed the palms and branches form each tree. They were meticulous in their cuts, so the trees were not severely cut back. I was very pleased with the professionalism exhibited. I would highly recommend this company and use them again.

Came on a Saturday because back Citrus was partially fallen into neighbor's yard. Chris was excellent at cutting fallen & standing tree portions. Cleanup excellent. Foliage pruning well done.

Jerry provided a quote for tree trimming and decayed limb removal (the decayed limb was directly over my driveway) that was reasonable for the size and maturity of my landscape. I have 8 full sized trees - 4 laurel oaks, 1 queen palm, 1 water oak, and 2 china berries. (The oaks and palm require trimming about every 2-3 years, not so much for the china berries.) I like the fact that Jerry and his son Jordan are certified arborists. Scheduling was done with Jerry over the phone and was a breeze. On the day of the project, the crew arrived on time. The foreman Chris took me through the plan for the day and answered all of my questions. I also told him that on the east side of my house I was planning on putting in an herb garden, and so I wanted additional sunlight in that area if possible. He quickly identified smaller limbs from the nearest laural oak that could be removed to give that area additional sunlight without sacrificing the tree's canopy. I was very pleased with his recommendation and with the result. Chris and his crew were professional and courteous, and all of the debris from the job was cleaned up before they left. All of my trees look great once again. I highly recommend Jerry and his team.

Jerry was very busy so he sent crew members. They were responsive. Explained what they were going to do and completed. A job well done Jerry was able to move his schedule around to accommodate my time constraints.

I called Jerry to get an estimate to remove a couple of trees as he was highly recommended not only on Angie's List but by a very good friend of mine. He answered all my questions and gave me a very reasonable estimate. I did get several other estimates and Independent Tree Service beat their prices by a large margin. I called Jerry to set up an appointment to remove the trees and we set up a date. The workers came first thing in the morning and worked very quickly. I husband was amazed at how the worker was cutting the limbs with such ease and quickness. They weren't able to grind the stumps that day but came out the first thing the next day in time for the people from the plant nursery to deliver my new palm tree. :) I highly recommend this company for all your tree needs. Excellent, the crew that came onsite was excellent. The were very receptive to all my request and the work done was great. Exceptional job cleaning up after they left.

I found Independent Tree on Angie's list, and scheduled an appointment with Jerry, which was the one who came out to give me an estimate. He had informed me the 3 trees to which, I wanted removed were protected, and I would need a City of Tampa approval and permit. He mentioned that should the City of Tampa need a written statement to "why" the trees needed removed, he would provide them on my behalf. I was very happy Jerry was able to write up a report for the City of Tampa, as they denied two of the three trees & without the report would of denied all three trees. Jerry's crew had come out, (I was not home, but they were fine with me not being onsite) and pruned the plum tree and cut down the ficus tree. They came back a couple days later to grin down the tree stump, to which was from the removal of the ficus tree they had cut down. Please note: when they grin down the tree stump it leaves behind wood mulch chips. Jerry made this very clear to me, when he explained how they go about the removal of the tree & roots. I would of preferred to have an option of them removing the grinned down tree wood mulch. I would like to suggest them adding this to their services, as, I had to bag and remove the wood mulch myself. The mulch is heavy, and with it being a nice size tree took lots of bags. Overall, I would suggest them to everyone, as I was very pleased and happy with his professionalism and his work.

I like this tree service because I know that owner knows how to cut trees while maintaining the health of the tree, and not just lop off limbs - he knows where to cut the limbs. Also, he is very professional - shows up at appointed time and does the job exactly as he says he will, and clears away all the branches when he is done. I have used this service once before, to cut down a very large Australian pine and elevate a few of the other trees on my property. I would recommend them to others.

They were amazing! It was the best customer service I've ever had. They were very responsive, communicated very well and were able to work with us to be competitive with other quotes I received. Jordan with Independent Tree Service came out and gave us an estimate on the work that we needed to have done. We had also gotten another estimate from another reputable tree company from Angie's list. Although Independent Tree Service's estimate was just a tad bit higher than the other company we elected to go with Independent. Jordan was a pleasure to speak with and as a certified arborist he knew a lot about our trees and advised us on what should be done to make the trees stay healthy. The crew came out yesterday and immediately went to work. They removed a 16" sick Laurel Oak that was over our roof and reduced it to a stump. They trimmed up some of the neighbors oak tree branches that was over our fence line so that it would make it easier to see the street when we backed out of our driveway. Raised the canopy on a fairly large oak tree in our back yard and removed a few branches along with some dead branches. Also removed some climbing potato vines that crept over from the neighbors yard and had crawled up in this oak tree. They removed hanging fronds and loose boots on a cabbage palm in our back yard and cut down a dying citrus tree. The crew did an excellent job with the trimming and cleanup and everything went well. I would recommend them to anyone who wants quality tree work done and will certainly use them again in the future. Jerry Upcavage (Jordan's dad) called us this morning to find out if we were satisfied with the outcome of the work his company performed and I told him that we were very happy with it.

Trimmed trees to provide better access for roof repair, trimmed dead limbs removed several dead tree trunks, cleaned up.

Jordan came over to give me an estimate and I had a good feeling about him and Independent Tree Service. I asked Jordan a lot of questions and he happily answered all my questions. He was very knowledgeable and you knew he enjoyed his work. I contacted two other companies. One company never called me back. The other company had some personal problems so they were unable to set a date to come to my home to give me an estimate. About 2½ years ago we had our only oak tree trimmed. They did a good job but they charged me $650. Independent Tree Service did more and charged me $485. Both were good companies but I prefer Independent Tree Service. They cut two large branches that I requested. They trimmed the rest of the tree thereby raising the canopy. They raised our next door neighbor's oak tree canopy. The part of the tree that they cut hung over our property line. They trimmed 4-5 fronds of our other neighbor's palm tree that hung over our property line. They cleaned up after themselves. In conclusion, I would definitely recommend Independent Tree Service. The next time I need our tree trimmed, we will definitely have them do it.

Jordan and the rest of the team were amazing and responsive. They were more than detailed during their estimate and walked through the property taking time to explain where cuts would be made along with needs I had while taking into account the future health of the tree. Jordan came to my house and provided education on tree growth, what he recommended for trimming and why, and provided a professional estimate. I contacted the provider to initate the service and I was called within a few days for the crew to come to the house to trim trees. They were timely, professional, knowledgeable, friendly, and competitively priced.

Jordan was very professional he spent extra time with my wife going over every tree in our yard and pretty much gave her a class on what to look for. He was very knowledgeable and their service was outstanding. I will hire them again when I am ready to remove some more trees.

Jerry Upcarage, the owner, was in constant contact with me from the start to finish. Completed the job a day before the scheduled date. Incredible service, great price. I'm extremely happy!

Very good job. They also cleaned up the leaves that were already in the driveway.
