Hartshorn Custom Contracting

I had a patio installed in 2023. It was improperly sealed along the one side and you could see light through it and didn’t pass inspection. They came out multiple times to “fix” it. That fix didn’t even last a year. It started leaking August 4, 2024. Trying to get them to come out and fix this has been horrible. This was still within our warranty period. The first time they came out they actually tried to blame my roof, but they didn’t know that my roof was also new and they looked at the wrong side of patio where it wasn’t even leaking. The service manager eventually came out on August 23rd and did fix a portion of the leak. He sent me an email with photos of where it was never sealed properly underneath the flashing. With the next rain, Sept 3rd, I found out it was still leaking at the lower section. I emailed the service manager about it and called. No one will call me back. It’s been months now where I’ve called multiple times and sent in chats with their website, but I still can’t get anyone to contact me. This is still a warranty issue and had they fixed it correctly when it was first installed maybe I wouldn’t be having this issue. I’m hoping leaving a review will finally get their attention and my patio can be fixed.

It went excellent! They were very punctual. They came out to give an estimate and then did the job at a later date. This company was referred to me as they'd done other work in our subdivision.

They were a referral from somebody. They quoted me a $1000 for their services. They were excellent. They showed up on time and also gotten back to me on time. I went ahead and contracted with them.

Initially, I called Hartshorn to provide an estimate on a pool screen enclosure. I saw one of their trucks in the neighborhood and received a word of mouth recommendation from someone who installs pavers. In addition, I saw mixed reviews on Angie's List. However, I decided to have Hartshorn come to my home and look at what I wanted. Rich was the sales representative who came to my home. He was professional and knowledgeable. In addition, he took a lot of time to explain the materials, the process, the designs, the permit, time frame, and costs. He also showed me how my enclosure would look on his computer which was key for me. Rich was a pleasure to deal with and an all around nice guy. The process from start to finish was smooth. Bruce, who came out and measured for the enclosure took the time to explain the construction and asked me exactly where I wanted my doors placed and where the cables would be positioned so he was concerned about the structure but also took into account how I felt about aesthetics. It took approximately two days for the enclosure to be put up and the two installers, Ray and Jeremy, were phenomenal.They came to our home, did their work, answered questions, and cleaned up without having to be asked to do so. Also, they were nice guys to deal with and a pleasure to talk to. Our family is so enjoying not having debris in our pool and not being bitten by insects. We are very pleased with our beautiful pool enclosure from Hartshorn - they took care of everything in a professional manner from beginning to end. With regard to financial considerations, Hartshorn requested half down before for materials and the other half after the enclosure was installed. That process was also easy as I just called into the office and a representative took my information.

The estimator seemed to have been having a bad day and it showed through his comments. I wanted to get an estimate on screening in may lanai. I had what I wanted it to look like and he said that my idea would and quot;look like crapand quot;. His words. He did not listen to me with my requests. I told him that I didn't want to have my pool enclosed because where the back wall would have to go would take away some of my decking area. He insisted on taking measurements and said that I was wrong and that it could be placed exactly where I didn't want it in the first place. I have no idea about how they do work, what materials they use, or about the company in general. He never offered any of this information. Frankly it didn't matter. I never did get an estimate or any paperwork or card to show that he was ever even here. I doubt that I will get an estimate either. I won't be using this company anyway. Very turned off by the estimator. I sure hope that he was just having a bad day and that he doesn't treat all of your potential clients this way.

First, I met with the sales person, Randy. He was interested in meeting my specific needs. I then went to their local shop to meet the owner, Gary Hartshorn, and to see their operation. Gary was informative and equally interested in my specific needs. Bruce came to our home and took accuate measurements using a laser. The pool cage was manufactured at their local shop and then installed at my home. Chris, the installer, and his team did an excellent job installing the pool cage. The only thing that did not go as anticipated, was the gutters were not extended a few inches past the corners of the house. After expressing my concern, they added short extensions to meet my needs with a good attitude and at no additional cost. I would recommend them without hesitation.
