Description of Work: We had a kitchen pot light that was flickering on and off, we had an over-sink light that needed repair, we needed an additional outlet, and we needed a home surge protector. While the electrician was there, we also asked for a quote on outdoor lighting.

Description of Work: Aware that lightening likes the Tampa Bay area, we had a whole house electric surge suppressor, cable suppressor, and telephone suppressor installed.

Description of Work: Jon and Eddie fixed the existing wiring issues to a light that hadn't been working correctly in years and got my favorite ceiling fan up and running again to peak performance. They are very reliable and courteous. They called before coming out to the house to let me know they were on their way and they arrived at the appointed time. We have white carpeting so they were careful to remove their shoes and wear booties inside the house. Jon also resolved a power failure to a ceiling fan. This has been a recurring problem for two years. Jon was able to identify that the power failure problem was in the wall switch and not caused by the expensive ceiling fan, which had previously been misdiagnosed by another electrical contracting company. Jon changed the fan remote from the Dan's Fan switch and replaced it with a Hampton Bay remote. This involved adding a different transmitter into the fan and removing the existing fan switch. Dan's Fan had been giving us free wall switches every time the fan failed to operate. This has been going on for over two years. This was our fifth fan wall switch/ remote to fail. Another contractor from another company had incorrectly evaluated that it was the ceiling fan that was causing the switch to fail. Thanks to Jon, the fan is working perfectly now. He even provided a dimmer feature on the remote that I didn't have on the other remote. I was very impressed with Jon's high caliber of electrical expertise and his ability to quickly troubleshoot existing problems. In addition to the excellent service, Jon and Eddie also went above and beyond their service by repositioning a large bookcase which had been moved out from the wall that hid a lot of Verizon electrical connections, equipment and wiring . They had to disconnect and reconnect all the Verizon equipment in order to accomplish this, which they did successfully and even hid all the wiring behind the bookcase at no extra charge. My husband and I were so impressed with Groves Electric that we have made another appointment for them to return and take on another project. On May 4th they will return to rewire our pool lighting and replace the pool light transformer. We have every confidence that this job will be performed with the same high caliber of expertise and professionalism as the work they have just completed.

Description of Work: Remove and replace two motion detector light fixtures and remove and replace electrical circuit in attic.

Description of Work: Install 2 outlets high on the wall for rope lighting, and hide TV wires behind the wall on 2 TV's in the home.

Description of Work: Over a weekend, we started experiencing one of our circuit breakers randomly shutting off. I called Monday morning and talked to Chris Groves. I explained the problem, gave some information, and he had a guy come out around noon. The technician that came out was prompt, personable, thorough, and explained what was causes that type of issue. He replaced the faulty circuit breaker and checked all of the outlets and switches on that breaker to make sure there wouldn't be ongoing problems. I also had him give me estimates for some other work (adding outlets and lights to the exterior rear of the house) that we may decide to do soon.

Description of Work: Don't let the cost number in the report scare you. This is really for two different jobs within about a two week period. Chris Groves and his team were fantastic and exceeded my expectations. I was expecting out of town company in February and my new pool heater shut down. Called Groves based on Angies list recommendations. He called me back quickly, it was already afternoon but he said he would try to get a crew out there in the evening if he could. I figured they probably wouldn't be able to fit me in until morning but they showed up at 6:30 pm and got the heater up and working. Chris alerted me to the fact that the heater had not been wired correctly when it was installed. It was a 40amp unit and had been placed on a 30amp circut. They were out the next morning ran new wiring and installed a new breaker, new circut, rewired the heater, and also grounded the heater which also had not been done properly. It has worked perfectly since then. I was also in the process of having my house painted and when that work was complete I had them come back and install new front door sconces/lanterns , a new back door sconce, new light in garage, several GFI's, a new outlet in the garage, repair two outdoor outlets and replace a timer switch and and outdoor ceiling and fan switches and plates. All this work took place around freshly painted walls. And they didn't leave a mark.

Description of Work: This company replaced light fixtures and outlets in my bathroom.

Description of Work: I had gotten the name from a flyer left at my home and verified they were in good standing with Angies List. After the initial consultation with the owner, two men came to my home as promised. They reviewed options for installation of lighting and a ceiling fan and worked efficiently. The residence is a one story with low ceilings and tight attic. They installed 10 recessed lights with two dimmers, a ceiling fan with light kit, and a motion spotlight outside. Later in the day they got a little extra help from the owner to finish up as anticipated. They cleaned up well and I would use their services in the future.

Description of Work: Chris and his team of three men arrived on time and replaced a ceiling fan, two strip lights and two ceiling lights.

Description of Work: Wiring for covered deck, motion detector light, cieling fann and storage shed.

Description of Work: I had severalelectrical outlets that were not working. I also had some unidentifiable light switches, and I had a smoke detector that had been installed too high in the ceiling above the stair case.

Description of Work: I had a water heater timer catch on fire during the night. Thankfully the damage was very limited, but the water heater was toast. I replaced the water heater myself and plumbed it, but I didn't trust the electrical because I didn't know what caused the (electrical) fire. I called Groves on Sunday night and they set up a service call for the morning. After an inspection of the system, they identified some dangerously loose wires in the inside service panel (I was present during the entire inspection, so I verified that they weren't "finding" work) and the outside panel was nearly rusted out.

Description of Work: Chris and Eddie removed 2 ceiling fans and performed a few smaller jobs; all within an an hour.

Description of Work: Hired to find why some lights flicker and flash but only during cold dry weather. Also had a remote added for ceiling fan/light fixture and had a surge protector added to circuit breaker box to protect from lightning.

THey were very knowledgable and polite and responded quickly to my call. THey removed an existing security light that was faulty and replaced it and made necessary repairs as the original one was not installed properly.
