JB & Kirby from Groves Electric arrived on time. They listened carefully to the list of items we were considering and carefully looked at each area. They answered our questions so we understood what would be involved. We were given a full estimate of cost for over 10 different types of jobs we were considering. We decided what we would do that day as we had to purchase some ceiling fans for them to complete at a later time. Both JB & Kirby were pleasant, easy to talk to, and on task to get the jobs completed in a timely manner. We really appreciated the attention they gave to help us understand several future projects we want completed. Overall we were happy with the efficient service and the price.

Groves Electric is our electrician of choice. We've had them out to the house twice now and the service has been nothing less than spectacular. Our technicians (on and Eddie) were courteous and extremely knowledgable. I would not hesitate to have them do work at the house or recommend them to our closest friends. It was obvious from when they arrived on day 1 and walked through the scope of work that Chris employs some of the best electricians. They offered creative solutions and in one case came up with a solution that I would never have imagined that turned out to be the very best solution. Chris (not Groves) and John worked very well together over the next two days. On the third day, Groves sent two additional workers to help finish up. Although the work took an extra day because of additional junction boxes that were needed in the attic and because we added a few change orders including hanging two ceiling fans and install two new bathroom exhaust fans that we had not planned on replacing in the original scope of work. His crews impressed my wife as a result of their clean up skills. They obviously were obsessed with quality work. Overall, after working with this crew it was no surprise at all to me why Groves Electric has so many top ratings from satisfied customers. Note: this is not the cheapest electrician in town, but I think they were well worth the extra cost based on their quality and creativity. I would recommend them without qualification and would not hesitate to use them again for any electrical need in my house.

My wife and I smelled something burning and it turned out to be a dimmer switch. I called Groves because I saw them in the magazine and Chris answered. He was very nice and gave me an estimate over the phone. It was $120 plus cost of the switch. I was going to try to replace it myself but figured there may be something else wrong. Sure enough there was a wire that the previous electrician did not connect right. Chris fixed it and then did a thorough check of the circuit breaker panel at no additional cost. He was a very professional, very nice family man. I could not have found a better company!

The other electrician I contacted did call me back the very next morning however I had scheduled with Groves Electric. I was appreciative of their follow up.

They were available to do the job for quickly. Easy to schedule with and they arrived punctually. Job went well and they assisted in moving the old chandelier to storage area.

Chris was great! We had a breaker that kept tripping that we thought was due to a new a/c unit that was just put in. After checking everything out, Chris found it to be our porch light had a short and was corroded. While I went out to buy a new light, Chris installed a surge protector in our box since we have power surges all the time, and he also installed a pool timer. As soon as I got home he hung up the new light and everything works fine again. I highly recommend this company. Chris was prompt, very friendly, and professional.

I called Groves Electric to repair some outdoor lighting, and had the technician also give an estimate on adding additional lighting throughout the house. He was very knowledgeable and gave great guidance on where and how many lights to install in the various areas. We decided to move forward with adding the lights over 2 months later and they honored the original estimate. The crew that came to do the wiring and install were punctual, professional, respectful of my home as they constantly cleaned as they went, and did exactly what we asked. Even when we changed our minds on the type of lights we wanted installed, Chris was up front about the price increase and everything was agreed upon before he placed his hardware order. His team ended up having to come out 3 times to complete the job (due to an error on our part in purchasing the incorrect pendant lights) without additional cost. They were mindful of our schedules and made sure we were satisfied. Chris and his team exceeded our expectations and we would highly recommend Groves Electric to everyone.

We had electrical lighting put in our landscaping. We noticed one wasn't working. I phoned Kris Kirby and to my pleasant surprise he came right over! Amazing that he had such pride in his work that he wanted to make sure it was taken care of. Turns out the bulb needed replacing and that's just what he did! He also provided excellent education on how to change the bulbs, including the type, size and safety considerations. Thanks! Great experience!

Groves Electric is an excellent company. Chris Groves came out and gave me an estimate as well as options other than the rewriting the insurance company demanded. The option of AlumiConn connectors was acceptable to the insurance company and we proceeded with the work on 9/17/12. The electricians were all professional, very cordial and ensured I was introduced before they entered my home. Any questions I had were answered and the overall experience was great. I would recommend Groves electric to anyone. They have a can do attitude and when faced with a challenge work it out.

I came home from work late Friday night and found half my house was having power issues. Power flickering on and off to some outlets, lights flashing bright and dim. I called Groves first thing Saturday morning, and Chris showed up within the hour. I showed him the problem. He took at look at my panel, and found the issue. Then he took the time to show me what was going on and explain it fully to me. He also took the time to explain each option I had to repair it, what to expect, and the pricing for each. I chose to have the panel replaced. Chris left to get the parts needed and returned with Jon within the hour. The work was completed much quicker than I expected. They also labeled each breaker in the new box for me. The work area was cleaned up and swept up, so the only evidence of the work done is the shiny new panel. I do not know if the pricing is above, at, or below average since I didn't get any other estimates. However, they came out on a moments notice on a Saturday and fixed the issue that day. I was more than appreciative that I was given and shown a complete explanation of the problem. They were professional, knew what they were doing, did quality work, and that was worth it to me.

Service was not preformed as another company gave us an estimate and performed the service for 72% less that the estimate from Groves. Not really sure if we would use them in the future under the circumstances listed above. Groves was called to revise the estimate as there was a conversion kit being used. So the original estimate was 100% more than the other company charged.

John and Eddie arrived right on time, then made sure they fully understood the work needed to be completed. They were friendly, professional and quickly went about their work. They were able to accomplish all of the work ahead of our expectations. Everything went according to planned and the workmanship was excellent. We would be pleased to use them again in a heartbeat.

Chris and his staff were a pleasure to work with! When I first called Chris and gave him a brief explanation of what I needed done, he gave me an appointment date and time. He showed up as promised, with 2 of his men.That in itself was kind of novel because I can't begin to state how many times service providers were late and/or didn't show up at all. Chris introduced Jon and Eddie as the electricians who would be working on this repair and any future calls for service I might have. I had a concern about that because I have had many different electricians working on my electrical issues over the years, some of whom created real problems for me, and many of whom would not come back to fix problems that erupted from their work. I have an old house with a lot of old wiring and it makes me feel more comfortable to know that my electrician is knowledgeable and skilled with electrical matters and that the same person will come out on subsequent visits, since he knows my electrical issues and can deal with them more effectively. I feel that is what I can expect now from Chris and his staff. They were friendly, and patiently listened to my explanations of the problems I needed addressed. They offered to do as much or as little as I wanted to have done. Chris quoted me an hourly rate, and said his boys would keep me informed of their progress and left his guys here to do the work. They worked very well together and were very directed in their work. They quickly addressed what the problem was with the post lights and immediately were in the process of fixing them. It impressed me that they were very knowledgeable and skilled at diagnosing problems, which of course saved them time, and me money, since they were on an hourly rate. I never noticed them standing around or wasting time, every time I observed them, they were hard at work. When Jon came to me almost finished with the work I had asked them to do, I decided to have him address the problem I was having with my high pressure sodium light not working properly. He found the cause rather quickly and fixed it. I now have that light working correctly for the first time since it was installed over a year ago. What a pleasure. I could not get the electrician who installed it to come back and address the problem, although he was paid handsomely for his work. Its like many of these electricians only want to do the work they would get paid for up front, but never guarantee their work, never will come back to address problems that might surface from the work they did. The electricians I've hired in the past are reputable, licensed electricians (I've never used someone who was not certified); maybe they just didn't like dealing with the challenges posed by an old home with old wiring, I don't know. But as a homeowner, it gets to be very frustrating selecting and hiring service professionals....not knowing if you will be able to get them back in case of trouble. I don't feel that way about Chris and his guys. I found his listing on Angie's List and was so favorably impressed with the reviews I read that I felt comfortable giving him a try. And I am glad that I did. I will certainly call on him and his guys for my future needs. I was very favorably impressed by the fact that that the work truck was so well equipped to where the electricians had everything they needed on hand! without having to make a run to a hardware store for materials. So often that is not the case with electricians/plumbers etc. That, of course, saved me money. Another very noteworthy comment about Chris is that he is a gentleman and very much an honest professional. When Jon and Eddie finished the work and it came time to pay my bill, I had a distraction in the house because my daughter, her friend and all 4 of their children were here and it was pretty noisy. I completely forgot to ask Jon for the 10% discount listed on Angie's List, so I paid the bill in full, $624.00. Later, I remembered about the discount and called Chris the next morning. He promptly offered to refund the $64.20, and wrote out the check while he talked to me on the phone. I received the refund the next day in the mail. So, the amount I actually paid for the work was $ 559.80. You couldn't ask for a better experience than that. Although the billing rate is not the least expensive available, it is not the highest either. And the quality result is worth the rate billed. I'm confident that all of Chris's customers have had the same favorable experience that I had.

This was an excellent experience. Chris Groves came out and gave me the estimate on the day and time we had agreed upon. He and Kris showed up on the day and time we had agreed upon for the removal of the old and the install of the two new outdoor,overhead patio fans.They were both refreshingly professional and courteous. The job went smoothly. Chris even took the time to inspect and answer a question I had about two indoor ceiling fans.I highly recommend this company.

Chris came out on a Saturday morning to quote the job; he initially was a little bit high on quote but when I told him I found him on Angie's List his price was right with all other quotes that I received. John, Eddie and Kirby arrived early and were extremely courteous, professional and knowledgeable. Everyone kept us fully int the loop with each step. I will definitely use Groves Electric again.

Great company! I would definitely use them again! The two guys who came had to work around a complete bathroom remodel in process and were able to do the job very effectively and quickly. I choose this company after seeing all the good reviews and after the service I received I decided to write one myself

Quick response, appointment made, punctual, performed job. Very good experience. Employees were very professional. They replaced our doorbell, but when I mentioned that I wanted to keep the old doorbell, Mr. Groves personally returned it to us on a Saturday.

Technician arrived on time and reviewed the work to be performed. We discussed the options and the price then he installed an electric outlet outside of the house to accomodate a new irrigation system and water conditioning system. The services were performed quickly and exactly as discussed. He also took a few minutes to look at some additional work I plan to do and explained what would be necessary. The technician also sugested a whole-house surge protector and provided information about this. I will definitely be calling Groves again.

Arrived at the scheduled time of 8am to begin work. About lunch time, the technician realized that there was a significant problem in the line delivering power from the house to the garage. He advised me of the problem, offered me two possible solutions and the relative cost associated with each. I made the decision to take the more expensive solution (which would ensure no future problems). At that point two other people (including Chris Groves) from the company came out to our house in St. Petersburg to assist him so that the work would be done on the same day. The extra work entailed digging a trench from the house to the garage, laying down new electrical in the trench, and hooking it all up. Once they were done, I could barely tell that they had disturbed my yard at all; also, they made sure that the new box could handle additional electrical loads (window AC, washer/dryer) if we were to choose to add those features to our garage at a later date. All in all, a most professional job from the initial proposal to completion.

Absolutely amazing! Our appointment time was 1:30 and Chris arrived 5 minutes early. It's a new home for us and there were quite a few little issues to address. Chris was so pleasant and accommodating, helping to educate me every step in the process. Though this was what I'd consider a small job, I'd have no hesitation calling them in for bigger (any) issues should they present themselves in the future. A++++
