Chris Groves set up an appointment for 9am on Monday to provide me an estimate on some electrical work that we needed done in the house. Surprisingly, he arrived before the actual appointment time and called me to check if it was okay to proceed. I quickly listed the tasks that I needed completed. He was very professional and courteous and quickly provided an estimate on the spot. Unfortunately, we received a lesser estimate from a contractor that we had previously worked with so we decided to go with him instead of Groves. However, I would definitely consider Groves for future needs.

This is not the first time I've worked with Groves Electric - I keep calling them back whenever I need work done - they are always pleasant, on time, knowledgeable, fair in their pricing, and they do an excellent job.

We got about 16 can lights installed including three in the outdoors and absolutely loving it. Highly satisfied with their work. This job included installing some recessed lights on a 20 ft high ceiling and for some of the lights, wiring was quite a challenge. But Jon and his partner were able to accomplish the task with patience and hard work. It took an entire day and we are very pleased with their work. Jon and Chris gave us a reasonable estimate for the job and it was very easy to explain what we wanted. Their ease of understanding the job was very comforting to us. Jon knew how and what exactly needs to be done even before I was done explaining. He is very thorough and professional worker and very cordial to talk with and knows his stuff really well. His attention to detail was amazing. The cleaning up afterwards(dusting and wiping the walls, floors) was the icing on the cake. We would highly recommend them and definitely use them again.

Very well, they had issues, but stayed until complete

About one year ago Groves did some work on the lamp posts to get them working. Alot of work was done with wood and wiring. About two months ago I had some problems with the lighting. Groves came out and fixed the problem for free. Even installed newer parts at no cost to me. Technician was professional and did the work efficiently. He told me that Groves wants to see the customer happy and I was, I had intended to pay for the repairs. This is Florida and things malfunction more quickly due to the humidity. The lights are working and I am happy.

Very professional team. I literally called Mr. Groves on the 16th and he was able to schedule a consult, provide an estimate and get everything by the 17th--in less than 24 hours. His team was extremely efficient and cleaned well after they left. I had a minor issue with one of the switches afterward and Mr. Groves personally came by to fix it the same day. Will definitely use their services again.

My hot water heater stopped working on Saturday . I called a plumber on Monday and after the plumber checked out the hot water heater I was told it was an electrical issue. Called several electrical companies on Angie's List, but no was available for 2 to 3 days. Called Groves and left a message. Chris called me back within 45 minutes and said could have someone out the next morning!!! So excited because taking a cold shower is no fun!! They arrived on time and were very friendly and professional. Explained the situation and what they needed to do and within an hour it was fixed and I now have hot water!! I am so thankful they were available so quickly and will use them in the future. I also used the 10% off coupon!!

Groves Electric was fantastic!! I could not be more pleased with the experience I've had with them. They were outstanding service providers during the quote and scheduling processes, and the work done on my home was excellent. I initially heard about Groves Electric from my realtor, who had a great experience with their work on her home. She said, "They aren't the cheapest electricians in town, but they did SUCH an amazing job!!" I needed some work done on the house that I just purchased, and asked them to give me a quote. Chris and his team were on time for the quote and were thorough in their assessment of the job. Their quote came in 15% less than another well-known competitor, and the team from Groves was far more professional and courteous than the worker from the other electrical company. The team from Groves also had fantastic ideas for the job, and thought through a lot of the details with me during my quote meeting. Choosing them for the job was a no-brainer. Groves came out to do the work two days ago, and I was incredibly impressed with their work. They performed the job in a speedy, clean and efficient manner, and their team was very friendly to my parents who were overseeing the work that day. Groves sent two employees to begin the work in the morning, then two more technicians arrived to wrap up the work later in the afternoon. Not many service providers will dedicate this many employees to a single job. After the job was done, they team did an excellent job of cleaning up and ensuring the work was done to our satisfaction. The work was done exactly as I had hoped and I couldn't be more happy with the outcome. I will definitely use Groves Electric for future electrical projects.

Jon and Eddie were great. The G.F.I in kitchen was wired wrong, under cabinet lights were fixed making all G.F.I independent at kitchen. We now have competent electricians to call.

It went great! Groves Electric was amazing! We had a serious problem with our electricity and only had power in 1 or 2 rooms in the entire house...it was so serious, TECO told us not to attempt to reset the breaker--it could start a fire. My home warranty company AHS did not really care, and after 14 hours, finally allowed us to call our own provider. I called Groves Electric--Chris answered first thing on a Saturday morning, and could not have been nicer! He called back several times, working with us to make sure he brought the right parts--they were just amazing! By noon, just a few hours later, we were fine--electricity restored to everything! Every room, every major appliance, everything! They were totally professional. It gets better...the company that AHS wanted to send...they called back, finally--after Groves Electric had saved the day and fixed everything. We now have the best electrician and the only one we will ever call. I will be referring everyone to Chris and Groves Electric.

The crew arrived in time and were professional and courteous. They replaced smoke detectors throughout house after they were blaring in the middle of the night. They replaced a ceiling fan, but did not install it so it could work with existing wall switch. Disappointing, with no explanation. They also suggested and sold us lightning protection. Expect add ons. They refused to install the chandelier because they said it was too complicated and they did not want to bear liability for it. We had to call someone else for that job. The crew was nice, but I will contact another electrical company next time.

John and Eddie from Grove Electric just left my house. and I couldn't wait to write my review. This is the second time I've used them...and I will never use another company for electrical work as long as I live in Tampa. These guys are fantastic in every way. They are professional, knowledgeable, personable and will jump through hoops to get the job done perfectly. They clean up as well or better than I would. They have NEVER tried to upsell me anything. I can't stress enough how much I highly recommend them. Thanks guys! It was a pleasure once again.

It went extremely well. I have just found my go to electrician and would recommend him to anyone I know..

We had hired a "handyman" to replace / install 4 ceiling fans. The "handyman" ran into a wiring issue with installing one of the remote controlled fans which was also connected & controlled by a wall switch. Chris knew from my initial description that it was likely a minor issue that could be solved via a phone call conversation. Most other electricians wanted $50 just to make the service call and would only discuss & quote the project after they assessed the situation on-site (i.e., which provides them with less incentive to quote a reasonable quote given they are already on-site and the customer has already invested $50 in advance of any work being done). Thus, I found Chris's approach to be very refreshing in this day and age where greediness usually trumps professionalism and integrity. Although I have never had Chris quote a project or do any work, given the manner in which he treated me today, I think it's a strong indicator that he respects and treats his customers in a a fair and equitable manner. Thus, if I ever need any future electrical work done, Chris will be the first electrician I call to come out and provide me with a quote.

They were quick, courteous, adequately described problem and also explained potential reason for switch going bad. They did offer the full house surge protection and but I didn't feel like it was a hard sell at all. It's just the reality of living in FL with the FL weather and such. I opted out of the surge protection and they left me with the quote for future reference. They installed the new switch and it works fine. Would probably replace the switch myself next time and save a little money but would definitely use them for bigger issues in the future.

positives: 1. quick return calls after voice messages. 2. appointment availability was immediate. 3. technicians were on time during 2 hour window. 4. technicians were polite and courteous. 5. found problem immediately. negatives: 1. would suggest price of service call be disclosed at time of scheduling appointment so customer can have full information before deciding to use company. 2. upon finding tripped gfi, suggestion was made to change gfi outlet without asking history of the outlet. i understand that gfi outlets do weaken with time but i had recently plugged in a 6 prong wall adapter which covered the gfi switch. that particular switch did not have a history of tripping the 12 years i have lived in this house so i declined the replacement. i was told that it was something that needed to be done eventually and it only cost an additional $40 on top of the service call price . it was an uncomfortable experience having to decline once again. i grabbed my checkbook to pay the service fee and was asked if i was interested in whole house surge protection for $200. by that time all i can describe was the feeling of being pressured to pay for even more service i had not asked for. on the way out the technician described feeling like a "walking piggy bank", feeling bad for having to charge me $140 for a less than 5 minute fix. i called mr. groves before writing this review. he was very friendly and explained the cost of two technicians making a call. i understand the cost of doing business with employees and insurance and taxes and have no problem paying the price of a service call. the customer service experience overall just felt like one hard up-sell that the poor technicians are expected to push. it was was really difficult describing the discomfort of the service call, but it is what it is. i don't like coming away from a service call feeling like "one big atm".

I couldn't have been happier! They arrived on time, were very professional, and price was as quoted. The clean-up from this messy job was impressive. I'll definitely use Groves Electric for any future needs.

Chris and his assistant came right after I spoke to them. They were professional, polite and quick.

It went great and he was very polite and he did a good job. I would recommend him , and the job was done pretty quickly.

Chris, Chris, John, and Eddie showed up on time, analyzed problems, provided estimate and performed all work within two hours in a friendly, upbeat, quick, and professional manner. All action was synchronized to perfection, not missing a beat, satisfying very particular customers. We were happy to have the team in our home, find them extremely competent and trustworthy, highly recommend them to others, and will hire them again for our electrical needs.

I think they are VERY professional and reliable. The quality of work seems very good to me. I really appreciate it when workers show up on time, as they have each time. Nothing irritates me more than making an appointment only to have people not show up on time and not call, but there is no such worry with Groves. I did find their prices pretty high for what was done, and the time that was spent doing it, but the quality and professionalism were top notch.

Jon and Eddie were GREAT! Arrived on time and let me know what they were going to do, how it was to be done. When they came across an issue in the breaker panel they told me about it and let me know a couple of options. They told me they could fix right then and the cost. Thought the price a little high, but did not want to have to take another day off work for them to do the job. Will use them again.

They were very timely. Everything went well.

The main guy, Kirby gives good design ideas as well as being just an electrician. I would give him top marks across the board.
