Jon and Will are professional and very easy to work with. They respond quickly with estimates and concerns and the work gets done on time. Very happy with every project they’ve completed for me which include two bathrooms, interior painting and a complete kitchen remodel. Highly recommend.

Jon is the most prompt contractor I’ve ever worked with. There was never a delay in communication. He got the estimate to us when he said he would and when we accepted the estimate and sent in the deposit work began right away. His team was friendly and worked clean. It was obvious that they cared about the quality of work and had an excellent eye for details. They completed my carport and utility room repair quickly. I would definitely work with them again.

We hired Greaves Construction to renovate an abandoned, bank-owned home that we purchased. When I met Jon the first time at the house, he was 10 minutes early, and his other estimators were there on time. This is when I knew I found my contractor. Jon is a true professional and was extraordinarily easy to work with. He was patient and answered our questions and also offered guidance when we needed it. Jon always replied to all communications and kept me updated on all progress. He ensured that all work was performed in a timely manner and that all craftsmanship exceeded our expectations. And when an unexpected problem came up, HE TOOK CARE OF IT. That, ladies and gentlemen, is what sets the women apart from the girls and the men apart from the boys. I have to admit, that it was satisfying to hear my neighbors raving about how quickly the work was completed and how beautifully our project turned out. And some of my neighbors are contractors. When a contractor compliments another contractor, that's a ringing endorsement. If you research Greaves Construction, you are going to find overwhelmingly positive reviews, and its the truth! I have every intention of using Greaves Construction for all of my general contracting needs in the future. There is an incredible peace of mind that comes with having a contractor who you can trust. Quote: Greaves gave us a timely and detailed quote listing all items to be done plus per hour costs for any additional work not included in the contract. Greaves' quote was in the same area as other contractors we interviewed. We chose Greaves b/c they answered us promptly, friends had used them and were pleased, their credentials were right on target, they were knowledgable and they were willing to start as soon as the permitting was obtained. Permitting: Contractor applied for and got permittng in a very reasonable amount of time. Crew was here on a daily basis in the early morning. We never had to wonder if they were coming. They worked hard and efficiently. The work place was cleaned up at the end of each day. Misc.: If we had questions, they were answered promptly and to our satisfaction. We would use them again in a heartbeat!

This was our first time needing a general contractor to handle a household project. And we were pretty anxious about both selecting the right contractor and the execution of the project. The ceiling is about 50 feet long with about 1100 square feet of surface. To us it seemed like a huge deal, but Jon assured us that it would go smoothly. And with the exception of one minor subcontractor scheduling hiccup, it did indeed proceed quite smoothly. His wood recommendation (#1 pine) was perfect. Since I did the whitewashing myself, I ended up handling every board and marked any parts of the board that I didn't want used. The use of high quality pine ensured few blemishes and a beautiful appearance. The subs he used were amazing. Jon, many kudos for knowing and working with high quality subcontractors. Each one, completely unprompted, praised the quality Jon's work and said that they consider him one of the best general contractors in the Tampa area. The demolition was really, really, really messy but by the end of the day, what remained was a completely clean living space and a view of the rafters and roof deck. When we spoke with Jon about insulation options, he described the use of an "expanding" foam compared to regular fiberglass batts. And he helped us work through the cost differences between the two options given other factors associated with roof. We ultimately went with the foam. This has proven to be a superior recommendation. The house is both cooler and quieter. Sweet! The new ceiling went up smoothly (albeit loudly) and it looks spectacular. We are so pleased. We will not hesitate to enlist Jon's services again should the need arise and we have already recommended him to friends. Thank you again, Jon.

The initial demolition went on with minimal fuss, and communication was maintained throughout. We're very happy with the workmanship and our house guests all agree. The project took a couple weeks longer than first planned - but otherwise went very smoothly and we're extremely pleased with the results.

Besides wanting a professional, competent and timely construction company, I had to find one that was skillful in creating today an addition that would be seamless with a home of that period. With trepidation I approached this project. I interviewed several companies and came to the conclusion that Greaves Construction was for me. I felt that I could trust Jon and was pleased to be working with the owner of the company. Having the home you are living in torn apart is enough to make anyone nervous. Jon soon put my fears to rest with their respectful and knowledgeable approach. He created the addition before cutting through to the existing home which made for a smoother transition and less interference with day to day life during construction. Jon kept me continuously informed of the schedule and was always available by his cell phone if I had any question. His construction team was there as scheduled and worked until the job was complete, cleaning up totally at the end of each day. Unlike other companies who may be working several jobs at once, Jon's group did not leave you wondering where they were or when they would return. Greaves Construction gave me their full attention until the job was done. Greaves' price seemed fair and was definitely below two other quotes. Most importantly, Jon stayed within his estimate....a rarity for any construction project. i could not be happier with the company and the my new addition. Mr. Greaves is very professional, but he did not seem to want to take the time to diagnose the problem before tearing open the wall, and he definitely did not want to engage in any lengthy discussion of the details of what he was planning to do, nor to explain it so that a lay person could really understand the problem. When pressed, he eventually suggested that we contact a leak expert, to obtain a more comprehensive understanding of the problem, and he referred us to someone who we are in fact using, at a cost of almost $1200. Other contractors who we called for competitive quotes owned their own infra -red cameras,and were able to explain in greater detail what the actual problem is, and we could have avoided much of this additional cost, but Mr. Greaves was the first person we spoke to, and we followed his lead.To his credit, we like the company he sent us to, and we feel they are doing a good job. They are doing a mold mediation in addition to working with us to identify the sources of the leaks. Not to his credit, he did not assist with that experience or meet the leak detective at our home and he did not call us to follow up, despite the fact that the leak detective called him after working at our home, and because of this we decided not to use him.

They remodeled our living room and hallway. They put down new floors. He was very good and came in under estimate. Very professional, prompt and cleaned up after themselves.

Workers arrived as scheduled and completed the job as promised. They were professional and kept all areas clean.

Both Jon & Ronnie Greaves are super people to deal with and Jon is an excellent, careful contractor who cares deeply about his customers and employs excellent subs. Jon has always helped me out over the years from very minor fixes to some major ones (like needing to jack up part of my house that was “sagging”). He’s also been readily available for very minor issues I’ve needed help on over the last 15 years.

They were fine. We were pleased with them. If I have to use them again I would.

It was a struggle and strain on our lives, but not due to anything Greaves Construstion did. We had to empty our master bedroom to get new carpet and paint walls. Before work began we moved our entire bedroom set into our family room and that's where we lived out of for 2 months. Clothes from our walk-in closet and extra furniture filled up our guest bedroom to the ceiling. Reconstruction started smoothly and all of Jonathan Greaves workers and subcontractors were extremely polite and attentive to detail. We were watching from the "sidelines", Jonathan and his workers were very accommodating to any changes we wanted (my wife is very detailed orientated). Original plans and cost were written in detail and followed in detail. Small "gliches" did occur but were easily overcome and not worth mentioning other than Jonathan handled everything very professionally. In today's world, it is rare to find such a great group of workers. I highly recommend Jonathan Greaves and his Construction Company. We have other projects planned in the future and Jonathan's company will definitely be used again.

I am an Angie's List member, a homeowner, and a graduate student learning how to write a grant. To assist me in writing a budget for the grant, Mr. Greaves provided me an estimate of costs to alter a 4-bedroom house to make it handicapped accessible. I spoke with him on Tuesday, and he sent me the estimate first thing Wednesday morning. Areas addressed: parking lot, front and side doors, bathroom, bedroom, and smoke alarm system. Since the parking lot was level and didn't have any curbs, it would only need repainting and a HC sign. For the front door (low rise ramp, landing, and handrails), he suggested offset hinges and a lever handle. Side sliding glass door benefited from a low ramp and level handle. His recommendations for a bathroom: replace toilet and vanity (wrap pipes for safety), angled mirror, offset hinges on door and lever handle for door and faucet. He also recommended lowering the light switch for easy access. For a bedroom, the door was made wheelchair accessible by adding offset hinges and a lever handle. Mr. Greaves also provided costs for adding a smoke alarm system with strobe lights and vibrations for people who are visually and hearing impaired. Finally, he included the costs of permits, trash and debris removal, and supervision. Total estimate came in just under the amount of my theoretical grant at $6,986, and he estimated 2 weeks of construction after permitting.

Contacted them to get an estimate on some repairs. His wife answered the phone. I wasn't having a great day and was having trouble explaining what I needed. Mrs. Greaves told me that her husband probably wouldn't come out because I mentioned the word FEMA. She assumed I wanted an estimate just for FEMA and that I was going to hire a handyman to do the repairs. I explained to her that my husband and I own a company and that we must be licensed and insured and that the people doing the work in my house must be general contractors with a license that I can verify through the state website. She said she would put my notes at the top of his pile and that she would have him call me. I Never received a phone call back at least to tell me that they weren't interested. Totally unprofessional.

These guys were absolute pros from the get go. When I saw how far they went to form dust barriers for the demo, and to protect the rest of the house, I was impressed. The crews were terrific and cleaned up neatly each day. Jon listens to your ideas and works with you to come to a solution to suit your wants and needs. This was my first experience with a remodeling job, and choosing Greaves Construction was the right decision.

A SUPERB COMPANY. EVERYTHING WAS DONE, AS PROMISED OR BETTER, ON TIME. WORKERS WERE VERY POLITE AND RESPECTFUL OF THE PROPERTY. THEIR DAILY CLEAN UP WAS IMMACULATE. CRAFTSMANSHIP WAS IMPECCABLE, AND THEIR FOLLOW-UP SERVICE TO CORRECT VERY MINOR PROBLEMS WAS QUICK AND EFFICIENT.
