Response from Glass Doctor of Tampa Bay
Thanks for using our team and please accept my apology for failing to meet your expectations. I see that you mentioned being disappointment with the results of the chip repair. Unfortunately, windshield chip repairs are structural and not cosmetic; the main goal of a chip repair is to stabilize the chip and to reduce the likelihood that the chip will run out or break the windshield further. Of course chip repairs do typically improve the appearance of the crack or chip, but even in the best scenario there is always a blemish remaining on the glass. The results vary based on the type of crack, contamination, and other factors. I can offer some options that I hope you will find helpful. I see in our POS system that we are billing your insurance company for that chip repair, so if you want we will be happy to call them for you and tell them the chip repair did not turn out satisfactory and ask them to approve a new windshield for you. Or if you would prefer to pay out-of-pocket then we can refund to you the cost of the repair toward a cash price on a brand new windshield. I will personally review the order to make sure you get our best cash pricing as well. Also, if you send me an email I can forward you a one page document on chip repairs that you might find helpful and informative. I look forward to a second chance to make you a satisfied customer.
