The story is complete now. Overall, it was not a good experience.

They were not able to provide any paperwork for me on the warranty. The sales person that I worked with, Angelo Basilicato, assured me that by buing the top of the line in this type of flooring that the spills would not affect the floor immediately. I would have 2-3 days to wipe it up and the flooring would not fold. About a month ago, there was a puddle in one of the bedrooms, not more than 24 hours there, after wiping it up it had folded. I called the customer service to have them come out and look at the floor and they determined that the customer was at fault. I contacted the local office and the only person I can deal with in Tampa and she does not answer the call or return calls. I was assured that I had 2-3 days to wipe up the spill and it had not been there for more than 24 hours, if at all 24 hours. Their customer service does not exist. When you call the main number for them you are calling Texas.

When I called Empire to come to my home to give an estimate they were very professional on the phone. They kept their appointment and was on time. The samples they brought out was very nice. Excellent tile, carpet, and wood flooring samples. I loved them all. I had even picked out exactly what I wanted and was ready to sign the paper work. I am so glad I did not. From the moment the guy walked into my house he was a sales man. Not just any sales man, but a car sales man. He was out to make money and did not care how or what he had to do to get that money. He made me feel very uncomfortable. He tried to reach me through religion, politics, my daughter and just by being overly pushy. I had explained to him at first that I also was having another flooring company come in and give me an estimate in which he went on a full verbal attack on this company trying to intimidate me with fear. That almost worked until the guy handed me his estimate which was very expensive and he was not willing to work with us. This salesman that came out to our home was very rude and even on the angry side. I have never felt so uncomfortable and felt so pressured. He was a salesman and a salesman only who was willing to tell you anything you wanted to hear to get your money. Becareful.

I got the estimate and the flooring was installed the next day. No problems and the flooring looks great.

It was a positive experience. They were prompt, did a good job and were out of here at the end of the day. It looks good.

We called Empire Today on Wednesday afternoon and a representative came out to our home promptly at the scheduled time on Thursday. He informed us of our options, took measurements and showed us samples. The salesperson was knowledgeable of his flooring products but not of general flooring. He gave us a an estimate of $6200 for 365 square foot of wood flooring and base board installation and said he was not charging for haul away of old flooring as we had already done that ourselves. We met with him for about 2 hours for him to finally provide this estimate which was 3 times more than the three other company's who we received bids from. He also did not provide anything in writing and just scribbled his numbers in his book. We thanked him and never heard back.

The salesman showed up on time and was very friendly and efficient. The installers were very fast and got the job done in a professional manner. We are very pleased with the experience.

They cracked tile in area that were next to the carpet, and did a sloppy job installing. I had to pay ahead of time, so I figured it wouldn't do any good to complain. They called to ask how the work was done, and told them that I wasn't happy with the work. I don't think you get what you pay for.

They had to jackhammer out the hardwood floors once and put in a whole new floor. Then the carpet seams started coming apart and they had to put in new carpet. These guys are terrible. They try to save money one the moisture sealer they use on the floor and then the hardwood buckles on them. DUH!. Now that they have put in the floor for a second time, it has buckled wherever they didn't seal it well enough. I just can't stand any more jackhammering. I seriously lost my hearing last time they did it. I wouldn't' use them ever again. I have tons of friends and they all wonder why I haven't just sued them. I'm sure I will never hear from them again, even though I have complained and complained.

The work was done very well, very professionally. When I had a couple of problems they came out and fixed them immediately.

They are way overpriced, there sales representatives falsely state things and do not have answers for questions asked. I would never recommend this company to anyone.

The representative was very nice and quite helpful. Installation was done as planned and on time. I'm very happy with the results.

This is now the second BAD experience I have had with Empire Today. The first one was about two years ago. The Empire guy came out, was not on time, rather rude, was not knowledgeable and caused our toilet to stop up and over-run...which my husband had to clean up...yuck. I emailed Empire Today about three weeks ago and requested someone call me for both painting and carpeting estimates. I should have known from the first experience that this company is not professional or responsible and I will never call them again or recommend any of their services.

THE SALESMAN CAME OUT AND MEASURED MY KITCHEN AND ENTRANCE WAY AND MISMEASURED BY 75 SQUARE FEET. WE GOT NOTHING IN WRITING. EMPIRE TODAY SENT US A COPY OF THE SALESMAN WORKSHEET. THE CALCULATIONS ARE WRONG, SEVERAL MEASUREMENTS WERE NOT ADDED CORRECTLY OR CHANGED. THEY CHARGE BY THE BOX, AND WE WERE FIST TOLD THAT WE NEEDED 17 BOXES, AND THEN WE WERE TOLD 12. THERE ARE ABOUT 3-4 DIFFERENT PEOPLE'S HANDWRITING ON THIS 1 SHEET. THERE WAS ANOTHER ISSUED THAT THEY FIXED TO OUR SATISFACTION AFTER WE BROUGHT IT TO THEIR ATTENTION. THE PRICE QUOTED WAS THE ORIGINAL PRICE QUOTES. THEY WANT US TO SIGN A RELEASE, THAT RELEASES THEM OF EVERY ITEM RELATED TO THE FLOOR ORDER. WE DON'T MIND SIGNING JUST FOR THIS PARTICULAR ISSUE, BUT THEY WILL NOT DO THAT.

Price way too high, almost double of others in the area with the same quality tile.

The salesman came out exactly at the scheduled time. He was very pleasant and was open to my negotiating with him on the price. I think I got a great deal for a very small room. They showed up the next morning at the specified time, installed the carpet, and left. There were nice guys all around. They were quick too! How refreshing.

Telephone rep said sales person would bring many samples. ''Paul'' came with four samples. He stated that price was for carpet, pad and installation. When I told him I did not want the pad, he said they only sell carpet with pad. He said they would not warrant carpet without pad. He was very adamant about this. When I told him I would not buy carpet without warranty, then he said they could sell me the carpet without pad. It seems their company policy wavers with whatever they must do to get the sale, and at the highest cost to the consumer. Their prices were also very high for the quality they were selling. He also told me that density meant nothing in residential carpet, only on commercial carpet. When I asked why it was stated on other carpet samples that I had seen elsewhere, he could not answer me. I would NEVER call them again. The salesman lied. He was also late for the appt.

CAME OUT EARLY. INSTALLED CARPET NEXT DAY. VERY PLEASED.

WORK WAS DONE ON TIME WITH ONE EXCEPTION. THE CREW INSTALLING THE HARD WOOD DID NOT HAVE THE CORRECT PIECE TO TRANSITION FROM THE HARDWOOD TO THE TILE PORTION. THEY SAID IT WOULD BE DONE NEXT DAY. IT TOOK APPROX 3 MONTH AND COUNTLESS PHONE CALLS TO FINALLY GET THE FLOOR COMPLETED. EMPIRE APPARENTLY DOESN'T HAVE AN OFFICE IN THE AREA AND EVERYTHING MUST BE DONE BY PHONE. OFTEN THEY DIDN'T RETURN CALLS. WHEN ACTUALLY COMPLETED THE WORK LOOKS VERY GOOD.

They came to my home, I picked the floor covering, they installed the next day.
