Two different crews came out for the two different types of flooring. Both crews were very polite and professional. The carpet crew somehow did not have enough carpet to do the job but was back the following morning and got the job done. That was a slight inconvenience because we had the bed taken down and furniture displaced around the house but it all worked out in the end.
Description of Work: Replaced carpet in the office with laminate and new carpet in master bedroom.

The quote was excellent, the consultant who came out first to measure it had his samples already there for you to pick out. They came two days later, moved the stuff, laid the stuff and did an excellent job. I will use them for the rest of the house later.

I'm thrilled with this company, and the super salesman, Marc Pion. From start to finish (less than 24 hours!) it has been a pleasure. Marc was super knowledgeable about each product, and has the patience of a saint. I never felt rushed to make a decision, and Marc was instrumental in helping me choose exactly what worked for my needs. The installers arrived promptly first thing in the morning, and they were extremely courteous. They took the time for a walk-through with me and noted all of my requests. They were very tidy throughout the job, and after the drilling for the carpet strips went in, I wouldn't have even known they were here. They worked diligently, and didn't leave any evidence of workmen being here after they left. Such a positive experience with Empire Today Tampa; I wouldn't hesitate to recommend to family or friends!

The salesman's name was John, and he was professional, polite, and down to earth. We appreciated the ease of working with his knowledge and personality. He answered our questions upfront, showed us the vinyl styles available, with no hard sales tactics. We truly enjoyed this salesman. He was in our home less than an hour. The next morning, June 2nd, a call came to say the installers would be arriving between 9 and 11:00 am. They showed up on time. It was two men. Both were polite, professional, and obviously there to do a job. My husband and I had removed all the furniture, except our queen bed and the heavy loveseat. They took moved the loveseat and dismantled the bed. They worked steady until the job was done. They had removed all the carpeting in the bedroom and living room. They cleaned up any debris that was under the carpet before starting to lay the vinyl flooring. They took care of any problems with the plywood that the flooring was to go over. It was determined that we needed molding, so one man went to get the necessary molding, while the other continued working. The men were respectful, even letting us know what was being done along the way and answering any questions we had. The flooring and the molding, which was put down in such a way that no complaints could be had by myself, or my husband, who just happens to be a perfectionist. They put back in place the loveseat exactly where it had been, and reassembled the bed and put it in place as well. The men even swept and damp mopped the new floors before leaving, which I thought I would be doing. We are very happy with the service from step A to Z. It's very hard to feel so happy with a job from start to finish, but Empire Today certainly accomplished that! By 6 pm that evening, we had two rooms with new flooring, and a job done beautifully. I will definitely call them again for our next flooring job, and certainly recommend them to our others.
Description of Work: Upon a scheduled visit from a salesman, we decided to let Empire Today install vinyl sheet flooring, (and remove the carpeting) in our bedroom and living room. To be installed on June 2nd, 2015.

Alll was going well until it was discovered that the vinyl I picked out would not stick to the floor when the old linoleum was picked up. I really don't understand how my old linoleum stuck to the floor but the square vinyl would not stick. Our house was built in 1954 and that may be one of the reasons but I'm not certain. When the old linoleum was scraped off the floor, I had to call the rep back out to bring some new samples. Unfortunately, it would cost me another $200. I had no choice but to go with them because there was nothing on my kitchen floor but some black stuff. On the bright side, the men that did the work pulling the old linoleum up and picking up my refrigerator and stove, did an excellent job and vacuumed everything remarkably well. I wanted them to come back to install the new vinyl, but they weren't available and someone else had to come and do the installation. It was a hectic few days.
Description of Work: Came out to take measurement of kitchen floor and brought beautiful samples with him. After I picked out the vinyl I wanted, there was lots of paperwork to read and sign. The rep advised me of the cost and that I would be notified the day before the installation as to approximate time work would be done.

Once I talked to other providers, I found out they told me incorrect information. They didn't put crack suppressant under the whole floor so I called to question the info on my bill. Said they had the product go out and it didn't come back so it must be on the floor. They said if the suppressant was not on the floor it would void her warranty. They offered to come out and tear up the whole floor and do it again. I couldn't do that since I needed to move into my house. Once I picked out tile, they told me it was porcelain and it was actually ceramic. They lied all away around.

The salesperson who brought samples didn't show us all the available samples of products. They subflooring wasn't done at all. After the installation, I felt air pockets all throughout the floor when walking on it. Also, during the initial installation, they didn't remove carpet tack strips and ended up scratching the new flooring with these tack strips that they were dragging across the new flooring. They did replace these pieces. Ultimately, they needed to completely redo the work because of the subflooring. I was very disappointed and I feel they were over-priced and the product was inferior.
Description of Work: We purchased from them them and they installed hardwood laminate flooring in the living room.

The installer came and didn't remove old pad, placed new padding on top of old. Didn't install pet proofing padding- and he lied. He became confrontational, my dog even growl.

Everything went really well. I've read some reviews online and I wasn't really impressed with the reviews but my experience was good. We did have a little bit of trouble with them but the issues that we had with them. We were supposed to have carpet installed in our outside screened in porch as well and they never put it. I called and I asked them about it and they said it would be 1-2 weeks. I kept calling them every few days and it turned out that the carpet for the car port was a special order and they never bothered to tell me that it was a special order. They kind of led me to believe that it will all be installed in the same day so that was a little inconvenient because we had to make arrangements for somebody to be there when they came out. Only one out of the 3-4 installers even spoke English. They did a good job and did it in a timely manner. They're a nationwide company. I thought the price was good. The carpet looks good right now.

I was told I would receive a call 30 minutes prior to the salesman arriving. After waiting for him most of the day it was past the time frame they gave me so I called and cancelled the appointment. The girl who answered offered me a $50 credit to re-schedule and I declined. 20 minutes after cancelling I received a call from the salesman who stated they gave him too many estimates that day and 2 of them were very large homes and he was still at least 40 minutes away. I informed him we cancelled the appointment. The following day a representative from Empire Today called and offered a $250 credit to give them another chance. We simply told them "you only have 1 chance to make a first impression and the salesman being late was not a good first impression".

They were great! They actually financed the project for me (which another provider was unable to do). They salesperson was excellent and the technician was very good as well. I would definitely recommend their service. I have actually referred the salesperson to my friends.

The installers completed the service which took 2 days, however we were not satisfied with the different shades of color. A manager from the Tampa office called and offered to redo the complete installation. The installers did not show up on the scheduled day, but came out that weekend. Again the re-install took 2 days. The installers barely spoke English and we had trouble communicating. This install was worse than the first. Poorly done seams, gaps on stairs and damage to brand new bedroom furniture. We complained and the manager agreed to do another re-install. No one showed or called on the day we had scheduled. The morning of the next scheduled date, the manager called and said that carpet had been recalled and that we had to chose an different carpet. We looked a few more samples which we did not like. I ask the manager to come get the carpet and fully refund my money which was financed through Wells Fargo. He claimed the problem was now a warranty problem and that I would have to pick a new carpet. I have tried to reach the manager but he will not return my calls. I am having to file a complaint with Wells Fargo which is investigating the issue with Empire. I will never recommend them to anyone.

Empire's rep came and gave us an estimate. Just before he was going to leave he called his supervisor to check in, the supervisor told him he could give us 5% discount on the price. We told him we were just started looking for prices and weren't going to buy today. The supervisor called us again in a couple of days to offer us another deal. That didn't set very well with me I told him why didn't you give me your best price at first, I told him he sounded like a car salesman and I wasn't interested. I also had looked around by this time at a couple of other carpet stores and found out his price wasn't that good and the quality wasn't the same.

It looks really good! I like the laminate that is here now much better than I did before. I did run into one issue that had to be fixed by another plumber because when the guy from Empire put the toilet back in after the tile work he did not do it correctly. However, Empire will be reimbursing me for the expense I had to put out for the plumber, and I think they are a good company and would use them again. I would recommend them!

We ordered 2 weeks before install, so was hoping I could get a smaller window that the 8AM-6PM one we got. I was told I would get a call to let me know when to expect installers. I ended up calling about 8:30 and was told they were about 45 min out. They actually arrived about 9:-5. Move heavy furniture (which we were glad to have), installed carpet and were done about 12:30. Furniture replaced, old carpet removed. Wife loves the new carpet, ry soft and plush. All in all we are happy. Would probably use again. Might get a 2nd estimate from Lowes next time. We had a rough estimate from them and it was close to what we paid through Empire. The 2 guys that installed were great, professional, and did a good job. Carpet only a week old, but so far so good.

See above 5/21/15: Carpet already starting to wrinkle and buckle. After two years of light use, and had it been properly installed, I would not think that the carpet should be doing this. Since I am out of their one year installation warranty, there is no reason to even bother communicating with them, as from previous experience, I am sure it will be ignored.
Description of Work: Worst mistake I ever made by choosing this company! Do not be fooled by their "buy one room, get two rooms free" or similar ads. Their prices are so high that once they discount the flooring, it is back to normal retail. It is no bargain. Shop around for proper pricing. As an architect, I should have known better-I am well aware of pricing strategies and what people in the industry actually pay. Then the problems began. The staircase started fraying. The company did send three people to say "yes, it is fraying". They agreed to replace it, then told me they had to replace the entire room (which was an office) because they could not get the same dye lot. A huge inconvenience. A recommendation was provided by Empire to lay the carpet on the stairs with a different detailing to help prevent any fraying. I agreed with the solution, and it was confirmed twice. The installers came, and after wrecking the office (major wall damage, paint damage, two pieces of broken furniture), they layed the stairs EXACTLY as the original installer. The one installer that could speak English lied to my face and said his paperwork said nothing about the other installation details-and he refused to show any paperwork, which is how I knew he was lying. I immediately called the rep, left a voice mail. Left a second voice mail two days later. Left a third voice mail the next day. Finally received a return call. Excuse was the installer did not have enough carpet to lay the stairs with the proper detail-yet there was a large roll of carpet left over. No apologies, no commentary on the damage. They claim to be coming back to do the stairs for a third time with the proper detailing. I really do not want these people in my office again, but have no choice.

Installs done in 2 days - both jobs outstanding! Installers for both flooring and carpeting were professional, knowledgeable, hard working and totally committed to ensuring top level customer satisfaction! Installers walked through installation upon completion and assured we were satisfied with job. It was an excellent job and experience with EmpireToday!

PROS: - Two installers arrived on the scheduled date Only one installer spoke English, which made communication a bit of a challenge, but they worked so quickly that the job was completed in one day instead of two. CONS: - During the sales cycle, the salesman (Richard Sferra) brought samples to my home. I'd selected a high-end, plush carpet, and we completed the financing paperwork. As we reviewed the Empire Pre-Installation Checklist, I asked about the line item that read, and quot;Empire does not cut or adjust doors.and quot; The salesman explained that some carpet types are thick enough to prevent standard doors from opening and closing easily. We checked the carpet I'd selected, and sure enough, it was too thick for my doors. The salesman tried to talk me into keeping the (expensive) carpet selection, even recommended that I pay to have all of my doors shaved down, etc., which, to me, felt like a bait-and-switch situation, and I told him so. I then selected a thinner (and less expensive) carpet, and he had to revise the paperwork. I strongly recommended to him that he put his customers first by checking the carpet-to-door compatibility BEFORE processing the paperwork. - Installers arrived early in the morning just before I had a chance to remove bedding from my master bedroom. As they cleared the room, they stripped my bed and placed the bedding outside on my filthy patio furniture. I suggest that in the future, Empire installers advise the customer ahead of time if they intend to temporarily place ANYTHING outside of the house. - One row of carpet tacking in my master bedroom wasn't sufficiently nailed down (ouch!...I fixed it myself). - Installers left 2 large rolls of extra carpet in my garage (much more than standard remnants). Not happy that I paid for that much extra carpet, but they did return to remove it when requested. - Within a week or two of purchase, I began receiving spam solicitor calls on my cell and home phone numbers. I traced some of the inbound numbers, and it appears that Empire had sold my customer info (at least my phone numbers). I always decline solicitation when signing paperwork but didn't see that option with Empire. SUMMARY: Although I'm happy with my new carpet and now have a credit account established with Empire, I doubt that I'll use them in the future...which is a shame, because I also need new tile and window treatments.
Description of Work: Carpet installation in family room, hallway and 3 bedrooms, including moving heavy furniture and removal & disposal of old carpet and padding.

Terrible. First the salesman was very late and lost. He then displayed several samples with no prices. He started pressuring me to buy than what I called about. Estimate was for $8500!!! I cancelled within the 3 day window.
