I had a service technician from Dial A Geek Onsite come to my house and installed a new printer for me, he was very prompt and he has a pleasant personality. I feel that his price could have been a little lower but he was efficient and professional. I would call on him again

The service seemed to be working but over time it became slower and slower. I thought it was the cable service so I called them to come and check my connections and service. That tech told me it was the LAN card they put in the computer and was not the cable service. Before calling the Geeks back I tried to copy my resume so I could take it to the library for my ongoing job search, but it would not copy. I called them and they said they did not put in a writable disk.. just a readable. They also said they didn't think anything was wrong with the LAN card and followed that up with "What did you expect for $150?". He further indicated that he thought "I" was the problem, not the computer. I felt repeated degraded but he did say he'd come and look at it. That was three weeks ago and I've never heard back from them. I dealt with three different people during the process but ultimately received no service. Now I'm stuck with a non functioning computer and out $150.
Description of Work: By word of mouth I found this company. My computer crashed from a virus and I needed another one. I'm on unemployment and my needs were specific. I had limited resources, which they were aware of, and I noted my basic needs clearly including Microsoft Office for my business and job searching requirements. She said she had one. After the fact I found that the Microsoft Office was a test version and I get warnings that the service is about to expire.

Response from Dial A Geek Onsite
Unfortunately the member filing this complaint is a family member who has made several inaccurate statements in her complaint. The member has been contacted by Our Lead technician several times to resolve the issue that she was having but he was told she was “busy” on two separate occasions when he attempted to make a scheduled onsite visit to her home to address her concerns. During the last conversation on December 14th 2010 he finally asked her to call us when she was free to set a day and time since it seemed she was always busy when we called. We have not heard from her again. She has filed complaints in several other places with the same result. Our policy has always been we do not just refund money if we can fix the problem. She was informed of this when she ordered the computer. She however was not willing to at least have us attempt to resolve the problem. She cancelled scheduled appointments twice even as the technician was on his way to her home. We have gone out of our way to ensure her satisfaction but it seems she seeks a resolution that we are unable to provide. Amy Query, Owner
