Chuck's Plumbing

Chris arrived on time. He looked over the house and gave us an upfront estimate of what needed to be done. He arrived the next morning a couple of minutes early. His manner was pleasant and he performed quality work above and beyond what was expected.

Called to ask if Tek could come earlier - I wasn't able to accept. Called later to say he was stuck on difficult job and would be late. Tek arrived in clean, well-marked vehicle, neatly dressed, well-spoken, articulate, professional but pleasant manners, explained several possible future problems to me due to age of house, very efficient and capable.

The technician was courteous, fixed my problem and I was satisfied.

Called for service @ 8 AM when all drains in house were backing up. We were told a tech would be out in about an hour (9 AM). At 9:45 I called to make sure the tech wasn't lost. "No Ma'am, he should be there any minute." (Very nice and polite on the phone.) At 10:15, the office called to say the tech got lost, but would be there in a few minutes. At 10:45 I cancelled the service call. Sorry Charlie! Almost 2 hours late is not OK when I've got to get to work too!

My electric hot water heater stopped producing hot water. I called Chuck's Plumbing at around 10:00 a.m. and we scheduled a technician to come between 2 and 4 p.m. that same day. I was asked if I wanted to have an email sent with technician's name and picture. What a great idea!! I was also told that I would be called when the technician was in route.I received the call that the tech was on his way at 02:20 p.m. They arrived at about 03:15n(there were 2, the tech and a trainee, I think). Because my heater was so old, manufactured in 1989, they immediately recommended a new heater. I asked for an estimate on the repair and a quote for the new heater. The repair was estimated at $363 to fix power break, 2 thermastats and 1 element. I was given a quote of $833 for the new one. I opted for the new heater. They called in to have someone deliver the new heater and started to deinstall the old heater. Of course, I had neglected to mention that I was an Angies list member. I double checked the list and found that there was a coupon for $100 off the price of a new heater. I told the tech about the coupon and he said he didn't know about it, but Chuck was delivering the new heater and I could ask him. When Chuck arrived, I gave him the coupon and he honored it. By the time, the new heater arrived, the old one had been removed. They completed the job at 05:30 p.m.

We noticed a discoloration on our ceiling in the first floor under a second floor bathroom. Chuck's sent one of their plumbers out to diagnose the problem. He quickly confirmed that the problem was a leak from the upstairs bathroom toilet. He was very knowledgeable as he knew right away that the problem was related to a common mistake made when installing toilets and setting the wax seal. He made quick work of fixing the problem and was all done in less than 2 hrs. Very professional, very informative, great work all together.

My 20 plus year old hot water heater.began leaking yesterday morning. My grandson, who was home alone, called several plumbing companies before he found one able/willing to send someone out to give an estimate for replacing the heater. I was out of town so when my grandson informed me of the problem I also called Chuck's Plumbing, which I had used before, for an estimate Chuck asked me some questions about the size, location, etc. of the heater and gave me a quote on the phone. I asked him whether being an Angie's List member helped me any and he said there was a $30.00 coupon online. Since the quote from the other company was considerably higher than Chuck's quote and since I had used and been satisfied with Chuck's service before, we set up an appointment for today. Chuck told me that a plumber from his company would arrive between 12 & 2 today. Mike arrived promptly at noon and began working. It was raining and he placed mats at the door where he entered and also in his work area. In addition, he cleaned his feet thoroughly each time he had to go to his truck and re-enter the house. Getting the old hot water heater out and the new one in was a very tight squeeze with very little room for maneuvering but Mike managed with respect for my walls. He was also co-operative when my grandson, who had been responsible for vacuuming up the water from the leak, wanted to watch how a new heater was installed and also see where the leak in the old one was located since it had been hidden until the unit was pulled away from the wall. Overall, it was a positive experience especially since I was out of town and my grandson, who had never had to deal with something like this on his own, had to handle it alone. Mike cleaned up behind himself when he was finished and hauled the old heater away. The final bill was even one dollar less than the estimate! The only reason I gave a "B" for price was because I actually got a third quote, which was less, from a smaller business recommended by my long-term AC/appliance repairman but this plumber was not able to come for several days.

The toilet tank in my master bathroom was leaking and I called Chuck's Plumbing who had originally been recommended by a friend. I was pleased to also find him on Angie's List with good reviews. In addition to the leak in the toilet tank, I told Chuck that I also needed to have the pressure release valve on the hot water heater changed because it had been pointed out to me as potentially dangerous several months before by the house inspector. I also wanted work done on my kitchen faucets to stop the vibrating noise when the faucets are first turned on. This turned out to be a bigger job than I had anticipated so the faucet job was postponed. We set up an appointment and the plumber arrived at the scheduled time and prepared to begin work. He immediately encountered a problem trying to undo what I had done in attempting to plug the toilet tank leak myself. I had used WaterWeld on the bolt holding the tank in place because that was where the leak appeared to originate. Wrong! When Sean, the plumber, learned what I had used, he told me that he had used that on car repairs because it was so strong and he knew no way to remove it and he had to remove it in order to get the tank off. If he could not get the tank off to install a new gasket I would need to buy a new toilet, so I called the 800 number on the WaterWeld tube. The employee at WaterWeld told me that there was no solution that would dissolve their product but that it could be burned and would turn to ash. I thanked her and then asked Sean whether he had a blow torch on his truck. He had a kinder, gentler version of a blow torch but he was hesitant to use it because it could crack the tank, and at the very least, the tank would be smoked/discolored. I told him that since my only other option was to buy a new toilet and since no one would be wedging his/her head down by the wall and the toilet bowl in order to see the discoloration, I would like him to try burning off the WaterWeld. He opened the window over the toilet and began work. It took quite a few minutes but, in the end, he was successful in burning off the WaterWeld and installing a new gasket which fixed the leak. (At some point I was asked to initial a statement on the bill that made clear the fact that I insisted on him attempting to burn off the sealant that I had put there.) Unlike the toilet tank episode, replacing the pressure release valve on the hot water heater went smoothly and Sean cleaned up behind himself and was on his way. I was a teeny bit disappointed that I did not get a small discount for teaching him something new because I don't think he knew until that day that WaterWeld could be burned.

It turned out ok, it just ended up costing $400 for an hour and a half of work.

On 1/15/13, I sent an email to Chuck's plumbing requesting an estimate. We corresponded a couple of times that day to determine my availability. After not hearing anything, I called Chuck's plumbing on 2/4/13 to again request an estimate. An appointment was scheduled for 2/6/13 between 5-6pm. I waited and waited and waited....no show! I called again at 5:55 on 2/6/13. After apologizing for forgetting me, another appointment was scheduled for 2/11/13 between 5-6pm. No show again! No call! No nothing!!! I gave them a "D" based on their lack of service...would have given them an "F" but at least they were friendly on the phone!!

I purchased the "Big Deal" from Chuck's Plumbing which was a premium toilet plus installation. I am very happy with the communication between the office and myself, the installation went without a hitch (the plumber was there exactly when expected, plus the office sent me a photo of who to expect!) The plumber cleaned everything up when he left, took the old toilet and was extremely pleasant. I am very happy with the service of Chuck's Plumbing!

I got a "Big Deal," but the service ended up being more expensive. It was satisfactory and I think he came out on a Sunday, so that was awesome. We had to have another plumber come out afterwards and he said that they should've done something with the main line on top of the roof and that's why we had a problem after that. It was more expensive to do this than it was to have the guy who did the stuff on the roof.

Found an offer for new toilet installation from Chuck's Plumbing. Called, asked if a certain color toilet was available and he said it was. I went down to the shop to compare color and it matched. Job was done by his associate promptly and professionally. Very satisfied with this business. Does the job on time and properly.

The plumber was a nice guy and he did a good job. I had a shower faucet where hot water side wasn't working. He did fix problem saying it needed a new cartridge. It worked fine when he finished but it was a little pricey. Was here like 1/2 hour and it cost almost 300. I told him thats more than it cost me to have it installed new. On the other hand he did fix my toilet flapper for me too while here at no cost so at least did that. Overall they did a good job and fixed problem fine. Guess I just had a little sticker shock.

Rebuilt toilet and did a great job. Used quality, but expensive, components. Finished quicker than I expected.

Chuck was on time and fixed the problem fast. He did a great job and will be my go to plumber in the future.

They explain thing well and told my husband what to expect from it.

I called Chucks and they were straight up and said they couldn't help, but gave a referral.

He said that the deal was going to cost us more than the $200.00 that the deal was worth. So we ended up using a different plumbing company for less money. So we are getting a refund of our purchase.

on time however he didn't have a shut off valve part with him so i had him do another repair all work was done fast and with no call back necessary.

They were all simple fixes but the plumber (Michael) was efficient, polite, an d let me know whether it was something that I could fix and not be charged plumber';s fees. It was a good experience and I will definitely use them again.

Nice, respectful service man. Knew what he was doing and was happy to explain everything along the way. He didn't try to 'hard-sell' us into anything, just made a few recommendations and finished promptly.

Excellent job---very experienced; had the appropriate items that needed to be replaced, job was done well without any wasted time. Person was very professional and very courteous. Definitely will call him again if repairs are needed.
