Central Florida Roofing

Description of Work: Please read this if you are considering using Central Florida Roofing for a new roof! It might save you a lot of heartache. We bought our beautifully remodeled home in September of 2010. One of the reasons we liked it was that it had a gorgeous dimensional shingle roof, a step or two up from the usual asphalt shingle. We had it inspected and no problems were found with the roof.When the roof started leaking soon after we bought the house, we contacted our realtor to find out what roofing company the previous owners before the last owner had used to do the roof. Those owners had put the roof on and the next owner did all the rest of the remodeling. The job was done by Central Florida Roofing.Central Florida roofing came out and repaired the leak and then I requested a copy of the original contract which they emailed to me. At this point in time they were at least returning calls and repairing leaks for me. The person I talked to presented himself as the owner, Randy Russell. The company contract has the name Thomas Russell next to the logo. We never spoke to anyone named Thomas. Randy informed me that although the GAF ELK shingles had a 50 year warranty (which had cost 1,300.00 extra) that he had only given the installation a 5 year warranty. He told me that the warranty was almost over and that if I had more leaks then I needed to buy a new roof. He also told me that this was not the right shingle for the low pitch of our roof and that the water could not run off fast enough.I asked the former owner if she had been told this and she said no, that she was never discouraged from buying this shingle. This time when the roof leaked we could not even get a phone call returned. (tropical storm Debby) This was upsetting, 4 leaks and counting. But the former owner had signed the contract. HOWEVER, I have had the roof inspected by 2 contractors and have been informed that the shingles were put on incorrectly. The shingles consisted of a 4 part system that had to be laid In a certain order. This was not done and there are areas where the shingles are laid flush and do not even overlap.One of the contractors said that the work quality was a poor. There was no problem with the pitch of the roof and the shingle, it was LAID WRONG! The city inspector is coming to review permitting and installation and so maybe I will get some justice. Meanwhile, we have quit calling Central Florida Roofing and will have to have to take legal action in order to get them to own their shoddy work.
