The first job on the hot water tank was positive, but the other experiences have not been positive. I had a toilet that kept running, and the plumber was a young kid who wanted to sell me a new toilet rather than replacing parts. His repair did not work, and I had to call them back. Recently, I had a more serious issue and waited two days for service. When the plumber didn't show as scheduled, I called and was told there was a scheduling error and asked to wait another two days.
Description of Work: I had this company do several jobs for me from hot water tank to toilet repair.

I have been pretty pleased with them. They are responsive and don't press me to buy through them. In fact, they encouraged me to get the faucet I wanted from the home store and they installed it.
Description of Work: This time they installed a kitchen faucet. This is the third time we have used them (toilet and garbage disposal installation previously)

I spoke with Cass about removing my old 49 gallon water heater & connecting the cold water supply line and hot water output lines to a new tankless water heater. His estimate for the work was an OUTRAGEOUS $1,150.00 ! No electrical hookup was included (that would have been done by a separate electrical contractor). This job would have involved connecting two easily accessible water pipes to a new water heater located literally inches from the pipes, and then taking away the old water heater. In the end I decided to go with a replacement of the water heater tank rather the do the tankless option since tankless would require the electric upgrade. I hired another plumber to hook up the new tank, replace the cold water shutoff valve, hook up the electrical connection & haul away the old tank. This plumber had much more work to do than the project estimated by Cass & needed additional parts, yet his final cost was only $385. When a "professional" is so incompetent that he needs to quote the job at 3 times what it should cost, I have ZERO confidence in him.

On 7/21/15 we had to have repairs to our handles on our bathtub and the plumber also caulked around the trim of shower. A little over a year later, in October, 2016, there was no pressure at all on the hot water so the handles had to be replaced once again. When the plumber came over for an estimate, the plumber said the work would cost $600. When we called the office and complained about this, Cass Plumbing said they would give us a discount and charge $400, especially since their previous work only lasted a little over a year. After the plumber came and did the work, he showed us an invoice for more than the original estimate. We told him that we were told by the office that the work would cost $400 so he changed the invoice to $400 and I signed for it and gave my credit card number. When I received my credit card statement, I was charged $475. Cass Plumbing had previously always mailed me a copy of the invoice when I charged for work. They sneakily never mailed me a copy so I only found out I was overcharged when I received my credit card statement. To top everything off, the plumber never caulked his work. I will not be using Cass Plumbing in the future.

When I called for an appointment, they were very friendly. They called my tenant and set up a mutually agreeable time to come and evaluate the problems. After they had arrived and evaluated the problems, they called me with a quote. Replace "innards" of toilets - $275 each. Repair sink drain stopper - $220. I was shocked at these prices, so I asked how much just to replace the toilet figuring it would be about the same or slightly more. For a 2 piece, round front, basic toilet, I was quoted $725 each. What? I told them I was not interested in having the work done. They were polite through the end. I later had all 3 problems taken care of for $200 total.
Description of Work: I asked Cass Plumbing to go to a rental property of mine where both toilets were "running". While they were there, I also asked them to give a price on a plastic sink drain stopper.

For an initial $149 service cost, Cass checked the entire house, and found that the leak was a broken pipe, between the sidewalk and the water meter located close to our street. We also asked for a quote for a new shut off valve right by our house. To our amazement, they quoted us a price of $625 to fix a pipe that was less than 12 inches, and $425 for a new shut off valve. We told them this was not acceptable - that these prices were way out of line. We then asked them to leave and contacted another plumbing company. The new company came out later the same day and not only fixed the pipe, but also installed a new shut off valve by the house and added some new copper piping - all for $300. I would not recommend Cass plumbing to anyone as their costs are excessive.

We've been pleased with Cass Plumbing on both occasions. The first occasion was to replace the old builder's-grade garbage disposal (16 years old). There was a vibration and loud rattling noise after the install, but the plumber returned promptly to address the issue. The second occasion was to replace an old stem valve for our second bathroom toilet. I had planned to replace the fill tank components myself but had the plumber take care of that as well. That work was completed with no issues. The plumber was also transparent on the pricing of components, and offered advice how best to shop for what we wanted. This advice got him high marks in our household and we will continue to use Cass Plumbing in the future. We can't speak to how competitive their pricing may be compared to other plumbing services, except to say that Cass offers a membership-based discount to returning customers. We've been pleased with the difference in the before-after discount pricing in that regard.
Description of Work: Cass Plumbing provided service to our home twice. The first time was to replace our garbage disposal and the second was to service the toilet in our second bathroom.

On the day they arrived, the sent the grumpiest guy they could find. He could not turn the water off at the street and said we would have to call the city and he would have to come back out. While here on that day he refused to take the toilet up claiming he had back issues. So he climed on the roof and ran the snake down the stack. He said he could feel tightness but was not able to bring anything up. He claimed he would need to come back the next day with someone to take the toilet off and change out the valves after the city came out. On day two, he was late showing up, but he had someone with him to take the toilet off. Once it was off we saw the cast iron flange was broken. This was not his fault but I'll explain why I mention it in a minute. So they change out the three shut off valves, and ran the snake again. Nothing came up again, and he said he couldn't figure out what caused the flood. He made two recommendations one was to pay $1200 to have a pressure blow out of the line, the other was $5,000 to dig up the back yard and see what was going on. It was on this day that he changed out the three shut off valves. When changing the one in the front of the house he melted and burned the vinyl siding because he did not put a board behind where he was soldering. When I got home I inspected the shut off only to find it was leaking. I called after hours and the answering service said they would have someone call me back. They never called. Going back to the flange we wanted it fixed but he wanted $350 more to fix the flange, and said there was no need to have it replaced that one bolt was enough to hold the toilet down. I think the price he quoted was unfair for the little work it would have taken to fix the flange after all the part is only a few dollars and the toilet was already off. Day three, my mother called and the receptionist just handed the phone to Mr. Grumpy himself. He came back out and fixed the joint that was leaking, we expressed that we were unhappy about the melted vinyl so he offered to paint it. Overall, we paid $450.00 for three shut off valves to be changed and to have the line snaked. I wouldn't have minded paying that if he said that was the issue but him saying I don't think that was the issue you have to pay more kind of p***** me off. I'd never recommend this company and will not have the out to my house again. I wish I had reviewed this company before, if you look at the prices they quote you see it all depends on who comes out and this guy didn't want to do work so he quoted high.

I got an immediate (recorded and e-mailed) response to my first inquiry. I called and set up an appointment for estimate for water heater replacement. The only time available was next day with an arrival time of between 4 and 5 pm. Since I work until 4, I asked if the service time could be after 4:15. No problem. I was home before 4:15, two other adults were home also. I admit I was working in the garage where the water heater is, trying to clear a space for repairman, and did not hear the call from Cass to make sure I was home before the repairman arrived. HOWEVER, I came in, saw the missed call, and called the main number for Cass. The answering operator had difficulty understanding that I was returning their call. I had to give my information all over again, the reason for the service, etc. I asked her to please just see if there was a job ticket with my name/phone number on it, and to let the repairman know that I was home and waiting for him to arrive. This was a very frustrating call, and I'm not sure the operator ever understood what I was trying to tell her. 20 minutes later I received a call from Cass letting me know that I would have to reschedule the appointment since they had not been able to reach me. At that point, I canceled the request for service and went to another provider.

I had a major leak in a pipe on my front lawn, so I contacted Cass Plumbing. I let them know that it was an emergency, since there was so much water leaking. A plumber showed up within two hours. While repairing the broken pipe that was the main source of the leak, the plumber found another pipe (further down in the ground) that was leaking. He told me he could patch that one as well, but it would be better for his supervisor to take a look and advise. After speaking with the supervisor, I made an appointment with him for early the following morning. The supervisor showed up early and advised me that I should replace the entire water main (from the street to the house; approximately 35 feet) since patching the other leak would probably just lead to more problems. I decided to go with his recommendation, and after a discussion with him about the specifics (including the landscaping portion; he told me that they would make a cut in the grass (which is very thick), pull it over, install the new pipe, and fold the grass back), I made an appointment for early the following morning. The digging crew showed up ahead of schedule and completed their initial part. The plumbers showed up later in the day to complete the job. While working on the connection from the main to the house, they found another problem and corrected it at no extra charge. It took approximately 10 hours to complete the job. The lead plumber told me they were not going to be able to install a cap on the new water main valve next to house that night, but someone would be by to do it in the next day or so. It was dark when they left, so I didn?t have an opportunity to properly assess the landscaping. When I did take a look at the landscaping the next morning, I found that it was a mess. The grass had not been folded over as I was told, but had been dug up and placed back haphazardly. Four or five days went by without anyone showing up to install the new cap, so I called the company to find out the status of the installation, as well as express my dissatisfaction with the landscaping (I understand plumbers are not landscapers, but it was a mess). The company had someone there within an hour to install the cap. The plumber said that he would call his supervisor to explain the landscaping issue, and that the supervisor would contact me. Days went by and I still had not received a call from the supervisor, so I called the company again. When the supervisor returned my call, he said that he would send someone out to look at the issue. A representative showed up the following morning and fixed the landscaping issue.

The Owner, Dave came out Monday morning to give me an estiment on some work in the master bath, I told him what happened Thursday and that his employee had asked for a tip. Dave told me that someone from his office would call and set up an appointment to fix the problems and a e-mail regarding the estiment for the other work. Some one came out and fixed all the problems except the extra money. I still need a plumber for some major re modeling in the master bath. I'm not sure I trust this list.
Description of Work: The kitchen sink unclogged and a new faucet outside the front door. The faucet was installed so close to the wall I scrape my knucles when I try to istall the hose. Some how the hall toilet got clogged and the plumber unplugged it, ( so we thought.). I paid him $645.00 in cash...and he asked for a tip,I said here how about $50.00 he responded $70.00 was better ( I had a $20.00 in my hand so I gave it to him ). Friday when I flushed it water went everywhere, I was told to flush it from time to time because it wasn't used much.. My grandsons roll of dimes was on the counter but not after the plumber left.

This was the second time using them. We noticed a sound of water running in the pipes in the laundry room, although everything was off. We had a similar experience previously, so we knew what to expect. We called Cass Plumbing because we were pleased with the previous job. Unfortunately the plumber they sent did not know were the leak was and had us call another company (I find Leaks). He charged us $250 for 15min quick assesment, to tell us the leak was in the wall, which we already were pretty sure it was. Then we called back Cass Plumbing to fix the leak. They sent a different plumber, who was able to fix the leak in the wall (cut and solder exsisting copper pipe which had developed pin hole leaks). Of course he had to cut a large hole in the drywall, which now we will have to pay seperately to have repaired. The second plumber was very professional, courteous, and trying to be considerate of the expenses involved. Unfortunately the first plumber they had sent made us spend an extra $250 that he should have deducted from the total bill.

The plumber did not believe he could remove the cartridge and would have to replace the entire faucet requiring cutting some drywall out in the closet and becoming a major project. I have had experience with this problem with older Moen faucets and knew that it could be removed with the proper tools and desire. Instead of spending 800.00 or 900.00 for this solution and thanks him for his time and called another plumber - the other plumber pulled the cartridge out in several minuets and replace the old one without a problem. I am not sure if it was simply a problem he had never seem before or a desire to have a larger job. It may also be that I am cheap and want the simplest solution.
Description of Work: I had several small pluming jobs to have done on a bathroom remodel and a Moen faucet where the stem had separated from the cartridge in the tub.

Ever customer is extremely important to us. We do our best to provide a fair and accurate quote. Our Plumbing Specialist quoted this customer correctly. To remove and replace the broken valve, replace a customer-supplied faucet, repair drain line and repair a leak we asked $170.00. I believe this to be more than a fair price considering we are Licensed, Bonded and Insured. We have the actual quote available if you like a copy. There is absolutely no indication of a charge between $800 and $900 dollars.
