Called for a clogged sink (Garbage disposal), they showed up and asked me to pay $175 diagnostics. 3 minutes later, I was told I need a new garbage disposal that will cost close to $500. The serviceman never even tried to run the disposal or loosen it. I wouldn't get them near my house.

After having 4 different plumbing companies try to solve the problem at a cost of over $1000 I finally called Cass Plumbing and was impressed from the first phone call. They were responsive, hard working, communicative and professional. They gave me a very competitive estimate and even called the morning of their visit to let me now they were on their way. Their team included Cleveland, Stephen, and NG, (new guy, sorry I did not get his name). They worked hard to cut through 20 feet of concrete to replace a broken sewer pipe. They cleaned up their mess afterward. When I next need a plumber I will certainly give these guys a call.

Cass plumbing is a huge ripoff. refused to give any kind of estimate over phone insisting on a free in home estimate. when they arrived (late) I agreed to allow them to do the work before I realized what a huge ripoff they are. Charged $264 to replace 2 parts that costs less than $15 each & did the job in less than an hour. LET ME REPEAT - HUGE RIP OFF !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Took my appt and contact info down wrong. Late past the 3 hr window with no phone call. Quoted 1100 to replace toilet flange! Even if the concrete needed to be chiseled out and repaired it wouldn’t even come close to that figure. This was a 2hr job and got it done for 330.00. (Even 330 is a bit high). So I turned Cass away and got it done with a smaller company which was great. So if you figure out their pricing there was probably 25-40 in parts so the labor would come out to over 500/hr. Are you kidding?

They said the problem was the 1 1/2” pipe in the wall was the problem and would replace with 2” pipe to fix the slow draining and overflow. They quoted $750 to crack open the wall and replumb to 2”. I agreed believing the wall would be repaired given the high price and the drain would accept all the washing machine water waste afterward. The pipe was replaced and the drain still did not contain all the water from the washing machine discharge line. They told me they would knock $150 off the price, since it did not fix the problem. They told me to get a washing machine discharge reducing line attachment available at Home Depot or a plumbing supply store to slow the flow of the discharge line. So, for $600, I now had a whole in the wall open to the outside and still a drainage problem with the washing machine. I called a plumbing supply store and they had never heard of a discharge reducing line attachment for a washing machine and said they wouldn’t recommend doing anything of the sort because it could compromise the washing machine’s motor. Instead, they suggested I call Maytag and discuss. In the end, we decided to add a laundry tub to the laundry room to collect the water waste until it could drain down and that is what fixed the problem. It cost us another $75 for the tub and a couple hours labor plus we had to repair the wall as well. In all we spent another $150 in purchasing the tub and quickcrete and fixed the issue ourselves. I am extremely disappointed with the service we received and at no point was it made clear that they would not be replacing the wall. In fact they tapped into the wall before even giving an estimate of the cost.

I had a drip in the cold water inlet valve under kitchen sink. I decided to call a plumber to repair rather than try myself. Cass plumber arrived and I informed him exactly where the leak was coming from. He looked at the valve and confirmed it was leaking. He simply tightened the screw on the valve and it was fixed. Surprisingly, I was charged $135. After plumber left, I called Cass Office to inquire how the charge could have been $135 when plumber was in my home max of 10 minutes to fix the leak. I was informed that I was charged the diagnostic charge of $185 but with a discount of $50 because I was a member. I stated that I had informed the plumber exactly where the leak was coming from and that he did not spend any time diagnosing. They said they would call me back but did not hear back from them.

My request was for a plumber to stop my shower from leaking. I informed plumber that the allen screw in my Delta shower faucet handle was stripped. I elected not to use plumbers’ names here because Cass Plumbing knows who they are. 12 OCT 2018 Friday: Plumber 1 (P1) shows up within the appointment window. P1 looks at shower; tells me he doesn’t have drill bit to do job-he’d broken it recently. Also didn’t have supplies (faucet, etc...); said they didn’t give him info on job so he was not prepared. P1 quoted me a job price of $350 to fix leak. I was a bit shocked. I asked him to explain the cost; he said it would be $250 for the cartridge and $100 for the trim. P1 then told me I would have to pay for half the job now because they would need to bring parts. I pointed out I got off work early to come home for this appointment which Cass Plumbing was not ready for. He suggested I call Cass Plumbing early on Monday and request they show up to avoid paying right now; I suggested I call another company; he asked me to wait. He went outside and called the shop. P1 then says the shop knew the details and I wouldn’t have to pay beforehand. My new appointment is 3:00-5:00 pm on Monday. 15 OCT 2018 Monday: Plumber 2 (P2) from Cass plumbing shows up within the appointment window with an apprentice. P2 appeared to struggle throughout the job. At one point he asked to borrow a drill bit from me. I loaned him one and he broke it while using it. He jokingly told me it must be one of those .99 cent bits that is not hardened. In actuality it was one from a drill bit set I’d had for more than two decades. But hey, it wasn’t his bit, why sweat it. There was a lot of banging and clanging going on in the shower as he tried removing the cartridge. At one point P2 calls me over and says I have low water pressure. Then without asking my permission, he stuck a drywall screw into the back of the shower head and removed the water flow restrictor. Eventually he removes and replaces the cartridge. I asked him how long the shower was warranted against leaking to which he answered “until I walk out the door.” When I immediately retorted, “What?” he smiled and said 30 -60 days. He and his apprentice picked up their tools. We moved into the sitting room where P2 plops down on my couch to prepare my bill. I paid him $350 via credit card. I immediately got a receipt via email. While they are getting into their truck to leave, I check the shower and see that it’s leaking worse than before. I raced out and called them back in. They return and do a lot more banging. They said they removed and replaced another cartridge. Finally they turn off the water near the faucet and tell me that the valve has to be replaced. A construction oriented plumber will come back and cut through the wall to access and replace the valve. They will charge me $225. I ask him if $225 is total price, he assures me it is. Only after a few more minutes does it come out that the plumber that is to cut open the wall will not repair the wall. Throughout the repair, P2 and his apprentice asked me (6-7 times) to go outside and turn the water on/off. 17 OCT 2018 Wednesday: P3 arrived. P3 assessed job and informed me that there was no reason to cut through the sheetrock on the backside of fixture in order to change the valve. In fact, it couldn’t be done since there was a 2x4 there anyway. He did slightly enlarge the opening around the fixture in order to remove and replace the valve. I asked to see the old valve. From an examination of the old valve I could see lots of marks of recent levering around the metal edges and what looked like drill marks that had reached the back of the valve. I assume these were all made during P2’s visit. After replacing the valve, P3 installed a new cartridge. Unfortunately it was defective and it was too late to go to the shop and obtain another one. Another job was set up for Thursday. I thought P3 was very good at his job. 18 OCT 2018 Thursday: P4 arrived early and was professional. He installed the new cartridge, turned on the water and reconnected some of the fixtures. Positives for Cass Plumbing • Scheduling: You immediately receive a text with your appointment window and the name of the plumber who will be coming to your home. • Payment: Plumbers carry an electronic pad through which they can accept credit card payments on site. You immediately receive an email receipt • Initial response: Within ten minutes of submitting my initial request online with Angie’s List, I received a phone call from Cass Plumbing. Negatives for Cass Plumbing • Skill levels: I felt the professionalism and skill levels varied greatly between plumbers • Communication: Plumbers didn’t/couldn’t communicate state of job or needed parts to subsequent plumbers. Overall I felt cheated by paying $575 for the repair of a leak. I don’t believe I should have had to pay more than $350. I thought and still think $350 was a bit much. Plumber 1 told me $250 for cartridge and $100 for trim. I went online and found out that on average cartridges were $40 and trim $69. Moreover, I honestly believe that the job could have been resolved on the first visit had Plumber 3 shown up. I can’t help but believe parts were damaged during the second plumber’s visit. This was a very inconvenient bout of events for me. I had to race home on four different days for four different plumbers to fix the leak in my shower. I was unable to use my master shower on Monday night, all day Tuesday, all day Wednesday and most of Thursday. The shower continued to leak from Friday (date of initial plumber) until Monday afternoon when next plumber arrived. P.S. I submitted my request for a plumber online with Angie’s List. I began receiving calls from plumbers telling me they saw my request on Home Advisor. It appears that Home Advisor purchased Angie’s List.

Contacted about leak and were responsive. Required leak detection but I had to call in for results and it was not fixed right away...they scheduled repair out 5 days. Leak would require cutting through closet wall. Also told them shower handle n leak needed repair and added to work order. Leak gets worse and floods closet and master bedroom with huge mess. They had to come out again to shut off. Finally came out to do repair and didn’t fix shower handle and cartridge even when I asked them if everything was fixed (and they said yes). Found out from renter that shower handle and cartridge not fixed and plumber had told renter it ‘wasn’t on work order’ yet no communication of this to me. Office changes story to me and says renter said not to fix (didn’t happen when they were dealing with me the owner all along).Had to have them come out again (4x in a week!) to fix and plumber reversed hot and cold and tells renter he can’t fix that. Office then tells me that he can come out again once handle is put on but renter is going to buy handle. When I call a plumber for a problem I expect full report on any issues and total repair..not multiple visits because they didn’t communicate and change their story (not to mention cause me more damage because I relied on their expertise in scheduling repair). Who fixes a leak but leaves the shower not fixed so can’t be used! Makes no sense.

They charged me $200 to replace a fill valve on a toilet, which is a job that should take 20 minutes and requires a $10 part. I was out of town and my tenants needed service asap so I had no choice but to approve the service. They told me it is normally $250 for this! I am thankful they were able to come out the same day and get the problem fixed, but I won't be using them again because I feel like I was taken advantage of on price because it was an "emergency".

We had a pipe break inside a garage wall that led to an outside spigot. This forced us to shut off the water line to our house. We called Cass Plumbing the next morning, and even though they had another big project planned that day in our area, they delayed it and came that morning. They had to chisel through a cinder block wall and the concrete that was inside of it to get to the broken pipe. They were able to do this and fix the pipe before the morning was over so we had water again to our house. They were very polite and courteous. We have used them other times for the replacement of a faucet and a garbage disposal. They have always done a good job. I would highly recommend this company.

I picked this company for my plumbing needs because of the high ratings on Angie’s List. To my surprise, the ratings were well over rated I scheduled an appointment around 6:00 PM for a non- emergency plumbing work at my house in Seminole. The agent scheduled the service for today between 10am and noon. I took the day off and waited until 12 noon when I phoned the office at 727-821-0033 only to be told by Tammy that there will be no service today because the answering service did not inform them of my appointment until “Now”, she said!!!!! AS if it was my own fault! I guess I should not always believe Angie’s List ratings for Good plumbing companies in the Tampa Bay!

The plumber left the estimate with a neighbor of the tent (did not send to the property mgmt co, or to us - the owners.) Original plumber told us (owner) over the phone that Cass could do all the work and the shower would be ready for use by tenant the next day once they were done. We paid deposit and schedule service. Date of service crew was 45 minutes LATE. Then told us all they were doing for $2200 was removing the original tile, concrete, and liner and replacing liner and concrete. My husband sent them back, but long story short they'd already pulled a permit so we ended up splitting the cost. What a nightmare to even get to that point. They told us they leave estimates with tenants all the time and it's not their problem if the owners or property managers don't get them. Class claimed it does everything to code, which I'm sure they do, HOWEVER; after a thorough inspection by another plumber the next day, we learned 1) the shower drain was clogged and needed to be snaked; 2) dripping from A/C vent was result of condensation; camera sent into area between floors showed no water and no wet areas 3) the grout in the shower needed to be cleaned, regretted, and resealed, AND 4) the shower floor (tile, concrete, etc) was NOT cracked. So. for less than 1/2 of what Cass was going to charge to fix something that didn't need to be fixed, we resolved the entire issue. BTW - Cass plumber said water had gotten under the floor tiles in same bathroom and caused them to crack. After inspection, we learned there was no water under the tiles. the mastic had deteriorated and we are going to replace the floor, but we don't have to worry about nonexistent water damage. We are unsure why the Cass plumber did not thoroughly check out the drain, look between the floors for water damage, or do any other plumbing checks (scope the drain after it was unclogged for loose or damages seals, etc.).
Description of Work: Property manager recommended Cass Plumbing when tenant complained of slight water drip from A/C vent just below master bathroom. Class Plumbing sent plumber out who spent about 10 minutes in the house and decided the entire base of the shower had to be replaced (concrete, rubber liner, tile, etc.) as it was cracked. full cost would be $2200

The cost was going to be a lot more than what I had anticipated. The outside faucet was probably $120. The bathroom one, I did not have them replace it because it was over $400. I thought they were very expensive, so I did not have them do everything. I think the prices were too high. They came on time, they were dependable. They gave me a correct estimate of what they were going to charge. I will probably not use them again because they are too expensive.

This was a disheartening experience. I came away with the impression that either the plumber that Cass sent out, or the business itself did not want our business this time around. I was given a hard time over the course of two housecalls and two phone calls. Cass' bid for the project was exorbitant. Odd, because we'd used Cass exclusively for our home up to this event and were always pleased with the service. We ended up purchasing a sink from Lowes and having Lowes contract the install, with a total cost a little bit more than half what Cass wanted just for labor.

CASS PLUMBING is out to get as much money from you as possible. All 3 of our toilets were leaking slowly from the tank into the bowl, causing a trickling noise, and causing the tank to refill periodically. CASS PLUMBING came in for a “free” quote. CASS PLUMBING said that the gaskets were shot because of the hard water and that the trickle couldn’t be stopped by simply replacing a couple parts. He said the ONLY way to stop it was to do a “complete rebuild” of all 3 tanks. He gave me a written estimate for $912.90, which was AFTER their 20% discount because we were low income. We also had a sink faucet that dripped. CASS PLUMBING said it was impossible to replace the valve because of the way the faucet was designed, and the ONLY way to stop the drip was to replace the entire faucet assembly. For that, CASS PLUMBING quoted $586.03, AFTER the “20% discount”. THE TOTAL QUOTE WAS $1498.93, AFTER the “20% discount”.. This was disaster news for us because we didn't have the savings to get the work done. I went to Angies List for a second quote, and brought in the highly recommended, but similary named, “Case Plumbing” (NOT the company reviewed here, “CASS PLUMBING”, that quoted $1498.93). Case Plumbing came in, and said that the work that CASS PLUMBING quoted was not necessary, and fixed all 3 toilets for $142. They replaced the faucet gasket and stopped the drip at no charge. So, CASS PLUMBING said that $1500 of work MUST BE Done. Case Plumbing did everything for $140. I work 2 jobs and normally don’t have the time to write reviews. But I made an exception to warn people to STAY AWAY FROM CASS PLUMBING because they were very convincing, and many people would have accepted their word as good, and had the work done. If you still call them after reading this, be sure you get a couple other quotes before you choose a plumber. Don't get the two mixed up. Remember: CASS PLUMBING: BAD.. Case Plumbing: Great
