Caldeco Air Conditioning & Heating

We have an annual service contract for spring and fall service. Caldeco called and made an appointment with my wife for 1:30pm today. The tech was Ruben and he arrived promptly at 1:30. He spent almost 1 1/2 hours cleaning and checking our unit. he took the time to discuss what he did and a potential issue on our 16 year old unit. When he came in the house to look at the thermostat and the return filter, he put booties on to protect the floors. Overall a very good experience and one of the reasons we switched from another HVAC company to Caldeco. They are prompt, courteous and explain what they are doing along with our options.

In the past, I've usually used another AC company. However, when I called them they couldn't come since they were booked. I called Caldeco and they were able to fit me in the same day. I was really happy since I needed to have my AC working again asap since it is still so hot. They were able to get me in their busy schedule and they got my AC working again! We got Julio and he was prompt, professional and efficient. I have found my new AC company whenever I will need them in the future. Thanks Caldeco!

I am so impressed with Caldeco. My air conditioner was broken and Tien diagnosed the problem. He worked with the office staff to see if the system was still under warranty. As it turned out, the last company never registered it so the warranty was not valid. Tien even encouraged me to call the manufacturer to see if they could help because he didn't want me to have to pay if the part could be fixed under the warranty. I was very impressed that he cared about saving me money and at no time did he try to pressure me into buying anything. As it turned out since my system was 10 years old, I determined that I would rather replace it then spend a lot of money to fix the problem since there was no warranty. Alex came out to meet with me and discuss what system I might want. He explained everything , provided me with the options and answered all of my questions and not once was their any pressure to buy a certain system or accessories or extra services. He made everything so easy handling the rebates for me and scheduling the install asap since we had been without air conditioning for several days. Also, when he discovered later that he had written up the order for a 4 ton system when I needed a 5 ton system, he would not allow me to pay the difference because that was what we had agreed on. I couldn't believe it! I insisted and he kept saying no! I don't think I've ever had a company do that before and it certainly added to the many reasons why I will be a, loyal customer for now on! The installers were professional and knew what they were doing. They discovered that the builder had never enclosed the area underneath my system which lead to my system drawing air from my walls. Patrick, Tony and Carlos enclosed the area the way it should have been done originally and there was no extra charge! They explained the system to me and taught me how to use the new thermostat. It was great to have technicians that knew their trade and cared about what they were doing! I love my new system and Caldeco is my go to air conditioning company!

While inspecting the AC, he pulled apart something that turned our slow coolant leak into a large coolant leak and we went from an AC that was still blowing some cool air to one that blows no cool air at all. That visit made things worse, not better. He then told me it would be $900 to fix the leak. I understand the leak was already there - but we would have still had cool air right now had he not made the leak better. He very slowly went to his truck to get some tape to tape up the fast leak but by then the coolant was gone to the point where he warned me not to turn on the AC anymore since it could overheat the outside unit. I wish I hadn't called these guys at all. :( Had them rated F. CEO called and while he defended his tech, he did offer to " make it right". The leak was not made bigger when tech was looking for leak but AFTER he'd already found leak and kept messing around in there. Changed review to C since I got a follow up call.

I couldn't be more impressed with the service provided by everyone I worked with at Caldeco. After a horrible experience with the company I had purchased my last AC unit from 15 years ago in an attempt to repair or replace still no cool air after two service trips to my home over a 2 day period, I called a friend who recommended Caldeco who she had purchased her unit from.n I called Caldeco early afternoon and a sales person came to my home that same day and I purchased a new unit on the spot. He also scheduled one of their service tech s to install additional freon in my unit the following morning in ensure sufficient cooling prior to the installation date. The installation crew arrived on time, covered my carpeted area to prevent any transfer of dirt from the outside and were quite courteous assuring I was pleased with their service at the end of the day. I highly recommend Caldeco based on my experience with their office personnel I have spoken to, their sales and service personnel and the next time I need my AC serviced or need a new unit I will not look any further than Caldeco.

It went well. They were on time, very neat, and very clean. I have used them now for 4 years. They put in two Air Conditioners for us. They are very reliable and I would use them again. I am very happy with this company.

Caldeco is always fantastic. They saw that I tried to call them after hours in the evening and contacted me within 5 minutes and offered to come that night if necessary. Came the next day, diagnosed the problem and ordered the parts needed, showed up the next day and completed the repairs. Their staff is the most professional that we have ever dealt with, their technicians have state of the art technology, and billing is always accurate and immediate.

I recently moved to Tampa. Not knowing who to use, I searched Angie's List for HVAC, and as always I was delighted with my provider from Angie's List. My A/C went out at 3:30 PM .... July in Florida in the middle of the rainy season. I called Caldeco and Amanda was delightful. Within 7-10 minutes she called me and said a technician was on his way from Seminole. I also received an immediate email confirming a service technician had been dispatched. Within 15-20 minutes, Stephen was knocking at my door. He came in, looked out back briefly to locate the compressor, put on booties when he came back in the house. Checked the thermostat, when upstairs to look at air handler. Placed a drop cloth under his ladder to protect my flooring. Within 7-10 minutes, he diagnosed the problem, had the part on his tuck, replaced the transformer and my AC was back on!!! Then he checked the outside unit completely. $240 well spent. Stephen was great, did not try to add additional, unnecessary charges. I felt confident in his honesty and skill. I will absolutely call Caldeco in the future and recommend them to friends. Thank you Caldeco!

Excellent job by Brennen Barkley . On time, thorough, professional.

I recently utilized Caldeco for purchasing and installing a new Carrier air conditioning unit in my house. While it was not the lowest quote I had received, I felt that it was more thorough and detailed than my other quote, and decided to go with them. My salesman Reiss was very patient in describing exactly what I would be getting, and why it would be the best system for my old house. The technicians sent were excellent. Patrick and Carlos were polite, professional the entire time, and I appreciate that they listened to my questions and gave me detailed answers. I loved that they never seemed uncertain with what they were doing - everything was very methodical and matter of fact. They showed up at 8:15 am - exactly on time, and were finished by 3:15-ish - which was actually quicker than I had been told to expect. Their cleanup was perfect. There were some slight glitches along the way-at the end, I had to wait around for the Carrier special filter installation, and the tech for that didn't know which way the specialty filter should face?! Plus - one of my breakers was switched off, and wasn't switched back on, so today I'll be trying to figure out which one it was. But, all in all, it was a far better experience than I had prepared myself for, my new air conditioning works perfectly, and I would definitely recommend Caldeco to anyone interested in having a new A/C system installed.

It was time to have an annual A/C inspection performed, so I called Caldeco. We have used this company several times in the past and their technicians are very knowledgeable and take their time resolving any issues you may have. This was a routine inspection and Kendry Lorenzo was the technician who performed the inspection. He was a little late getting here, but the office had called us in advance to let us know that he was running a little behind. Caldeco also sent us an email that morning to let us know the name of the technician that would be performing the inspection and also included a photo of him, I mean who else does that? It makes you feel more comfortable knowing that the person ringing your doorbell is the same as in the photo. Kendry did an excellent job cleaning the outside unit, then going into a very hot attic and pulling the fan out and taking it outside to clean. What I like about Caldeco's inspections is that they also include cleaning the coils which I feel is very important to the performance of the A/C. I will continue using Caldeco in the future and I would highly recommend them to Angie list subscribers.

They were called around 530 and were there by 630. The technician Gary was very polite and professional. He went above and beyond fixing the problem and discussing ways to prevent this in the future. Price was better than I expected.

We have been using Caldeco for several years for our semiannual AC Maintenance. Our system is just under 10 years old. On the evening of Saturday June 13th 2015 at 8PM the system failed. It was a night and a weekend. I called the office and a very professional person that took all the information promptly answered the phone. Within 20 minutes the service technician, John McGuire called and gave me his schedule. He was also extremely professional and said he could be here by 9:15PM. John showed up right on schedule and diagnosed the issue. John worked on it even trying to use a motor that he had on his truck to get it going. Due to the technology in the system, the exact motor had to be installed or the system would not function. John gave his best effort until almost 11PM. He told us that he would advise his service manager and ask that the manufacturer warehouse would open for them in the morning ( a SUNDAY)! At 9am on Sunday morning I received a call from the Caldeco office and was told that John was getting access to the part and would be out to get us going. John was here at 10:30 AM with the new part and we are up and running. In just over 12 hours on a weekend Caldeco got the job done.

They came and fixed it. They did a good job.

The woman who answered the phone was extremely professional and was able to quote the after hours charges, including the cost per pound of R22. I asked if they could get someone out soon and she said it would be this evening and she would see what she could do to get them out sooner rather than later. I failed to mention, but we have a daughter with Autism, and she doesn't handle sweatin' to the oldies very well. 15 minutes later she called back and the service technician was on his way! He arrived 10 minutes before she thought he would and 30 minutes later, the air was coming out of the ducts at 65 degrees (a 22 degree differential...sweet!)!!! I have to say that I was extremely impressed with the team at Caldeco and would wholeheartedly recommend them to anyone who needs service in short order. Thanks Caldeco!!

Originally, I called Caldeco for a quote to replace the a/c system. A prior (incompetent) a/c repair firm (who will go unmentioned) couldn't figure out the root cause and suggested the best option was replacement versus four-figures to repair my decade-old system. Caldeco was the second company on my list for a quote. The Caldeco sales person -- Reiss Holsbeke -- heard my story and suggested he take a look. He could have just proceeded with the quote process. Instead, Reiss crawled into my 110 degree attic to perform his own diagnosis. Emerging sweat drenched, he advised me to have their repair crew visit before spending several thousand dollars on a new system. Today, the repair guy found the root cause -- faulty thermostat -- and fixed the situation. Thirty minutes later, Reiss called to follow up and ensure everything was OK. At some point, I will have to replace one or both of my 10+ year old systems. When that time arrives, I'm buying from Caldeco!

Wow, what great service! On Mother's Day one of my units stopped working. I called Caldeco instead of the company I had been using for years because of all of the problems I have had with them over the years. I had heard Caldeco's commercials on 970 WFLA so I looked them up on Angie's List and saw they had great reviews. I called and was greeted by a very courteous man, who took my call and explained the cost for an emergency visit. Within 15 minutes, the technician called to say he was on his way and within 45 minutes of the call a technician was at my door. Jack located the issue right away and explained everything to me. He explained that the unit needed a new coil due to a leak and that it could not be fixed today but he would email the information that evening so someone could call me in the morning to start ordering the part. He even told me the unit should still be under warranty and they would follow up on that for me as well. Jack was very professional and customer friendly. He told me about the company as we chatted and I felt like I had finally found a company that fit my needs. The next morning by 8am Paul called and told me the unit was under warranty and that they had ordered the part for me and that it could be fixed that day. He told me the charges and we set up the repair. About an hour later I was told the part had been acquired and that they would be at my house by 11am. Then a little while later they called to tell me the technician was on his way. With my previous company I'm usually the one calling them to see how if they can update me. When I opened the door, it was great to see Jack the same technician from the day before at my door. He knew exactly what to do and got right to work. I am very pleased with Caldeco and am thinking about purchasing their service plan. I would definitely use them again.

Just purchased house, had Caldeco perform a service check on HVAC system. Technician explained what he was doing, provided feedback on the system, and answered all questions I had. After the maintenance check, I requested information on a maintenance contract which we then purchased. Overall, technician was professional and everything went extremely well.

Caldeco is the ONLY a/c company we will ever use. This is our second wonderful experience with them. We first used Caldeco last year, having selected them from a list of approved providers for our power company's a/c maintenance rebate program. We have an older unit (installed approximately 2002) that was here when we purchased our home in 2012. We need the system to last us as long as possible. We scheduled an a/c maintenance appointment and we were prepared to be told that our system was nearly dead - instead, the technician performed a very thorough inspection/maintenance of the system, replaced the necessary parts and told us that with regular maintenance our system should last several more years. He answered all of our questions and gave us an estimate of what a new system will cost when we are ready to upgrade. The last visit was to repair our a/c that had gone out after hours - just required a simple fix, nothing fancy. Extremely honest, extremely professional, extremely courteous. Well done, Caldeco. You've earned a loyal customer.

Tech very through, professional and knowledgeable. estimate for new unit was a little high but would reccomend Caldeco and salesman Reiss very highly. He took the time to do research to make sure he was giving me the best price and options to be sure the job was done right. Price was high so wewnt with other firm.

It went very very well. They did an excellent job.

Mr. Stephen Rivera was doing a regular 6 month check of our A/C system. Unfortunately my husband had to be taken to an emergency doctor's appointment that morning . I left him to do the work, check the interior filter, lock up the house (which has ADT), and he even remembered to turn off the water outside and close the side gate. The Caldeco company will continue to be our main central A/C and heating company because they have such hard working and reliable employees. Hats off to Stephen Rivera.

I was really impressed that I received an email around the time of my appointment from some kind of official service that provides background checks for the service industry. I knew exactly who was coming and that he had been screened. Nothing to worry about which was a very positive touch to this service appointment. George introduced himself and answered all my questions regarding the annual service, including the contract options. I was particularly interested in their Gold Plan because George discovered a coil leak and I was able to apply the contract discount to the repair. Win. I gave them a "B" for price, not because I think they're higher than anyone else but because I think AC repairs in general are too high. However, George was very thorough, gave me all my options and discussed the current state of my 10 year old AC unit. He even took a picture of the air handler in the attic at my request so I could see exactly what it looked like (I'm not going up there!) and where the repair was. The price shown in this review also includes the cost of my annual contract - $149. All in all, George's great service helped me hold off on spending a WHOLE lot more on a new unit. I will definitely call Caldeco when it's time to retire this old unit. The only thing I hope Caldeco does this year that they haven't done in the past is to remind me when it's time for my annual service.
