Caldeco Air Conditioning & Heating

2 Technicians came out. Cleaned and serviced AC system inside and out. Answered my questions. I had asked for someone to also suggest a way to better cool my den/office since the current setup was not working well. I was told someone would come out that could help make recommendations, but it seemed the guys that came were only able to do cleaning and servicing. I got vague answers in the realm of "that's about as good as it will do" instead of suggestions as to how to re-engineer the setup (I even offered some logical ideas that I thought would be helpful, but they didn't seem real interested in hearing them). They did the job of servicing and took my coupon without a problem, even dropping a few dollars off the price since they couldn't get to a certain part of the air handler in the attic. Didn't do much in the way of cleanup - I found bits of insulation on the floor under the attic access after they left.

I thought they were a little pricey. I especially didn't like being charged the $99 service fee again since I had asked them to try to check the other unit when they were here the first time, but to their credit they did take this off the bill. Overall, I was pleased with the service but not with the prices.

The technician was extremely helpful but not patronizing. He seemed willing and ready to educate me, a newcomer to the area, on proper maintenance of the system between regular service calls. He seemed knowledgeable and competent. Office staff was always pleasant and competent, too.

The service technician arrived promptly at the time promised. He was very courteous right from the beginning. My husband showed him every thing and he quickly got to work diagnosing the problem. He was very patient with our soon to be three year old son that wanted desperately to help him fix our A/C. He was very helpful in explaining the problem and how it would be repaired, assuring us that he would give every thing a once over while he was in there. He was very neat and repaired the problem quickly. We will certainly call back next year for service because we were thoroughly impressed.

I use them all the time. Any time there is an emergency or I have a question. They are very polite. I can always depend on them, they are just wonderful.

This was a very professional operation, from the initial estimate to the techs on install. They were all concerned about quality of their work. They did an excellent job of adapting my old A/C handler space into one suitable to the new system. They also had to run a new line to the outside unit to re-locate the cut off nearer to the unit. The problem with the drain was not accounted for in the initial estimate but the cost was very reasonable to have it fixed and functioning properly, about $375 extra.

We were going to replace our A/C ducts for 9K until Caldeco wouldn't put on the contract that it would improve the cooling in the room that they said would improve. I scheduled a system checkup & cleaning. Our A/C was working GREAT. Almost upon arrival, on a Wednesday, the serviceman, who was very inappropriately forward with me, found that freon was leaking. I said to stop the service & put everything back together as we would replace the air handler. The estimate was for $2200. I got charged $90 for a service call. Later we found the A/C was totally broken. The next day the estimate went to $3k & job to be done on Monday, 5 days later. We got it done by another company the next day for $2200. Since they broke the system & had no thoughts about making us wait 5 days for repair we do not think we should pay a service fee. My husband called the owner who said he would look into it but never got back to us. I will alert our utility company as well.

I called Caldeco, for Air Conditioner maintenance, because a drain line plugged up. I did unblock it myself, just to get it to work until, I can get a professional to clean it out. Carrie was not able to schedule a preventative maintenance appointment, until the beginning of September, even after I explained I will be having a problem with the drain line, shortly.

The work was fine but the fact that they charge extra on Saturday for the parts (not labor) was weird.

They had great reports on Angie's List and lived up to the comments that people said about him.

It was a perfect experience. Mike and an associate came to the house to do the estimate. They thoroughly measured the conditioned airspace load, asked about our preferences, and then provided estimates for three systems that would meet our needs. We selected a system, and they came back to install it two days later, on time. We live in an old house, and the installers ran in several unforeseen problems. Although dealing with those problems took much longer than they anticipated, they never rushed or complained, or attempted to charge us more for unexpectedly labor costs. Without exception, every Caldeco employee whom we have dealt with has been patient, responsive, intelligent, polite, hard-working, neat, and professional at all times. Doing a high quality job was their goal from start to finish, and thats what they did. It was absolutely the best experience I have ever had with a contractor.

Serviceman was prompt and professional in dress, attitude and respect for floors, etc. He provided quality service and explained the service he provided. The office, also offered excellent service. I will use again.

We called Mike from Caldeco on a Saturday and he called back almost immediately to schedule an appointment to meet us. He was very professional and knowledgeable and quoted several options for the new equipment. The installation was scheduled over two days (it was raining but the crew was here on time the first day.) They covered the stairs with runners and were very respectful and careful with our knick-knacks, etc. Since the new units were much larger, they had to build a bigger platform for them. The supervisor went out to buy some cinder blocks to extend the base at no extra cost to us. We got the recommended rebates from TECO and Carrier, as well as the warranties for the whole system. The installers showed me how to adjust the thermostats and came back right away to replace a defective one. They cleaned up and vacuumed debris from the job.

Superb. The company representatives were on time, the work was done extremely well, and everybody was view professional. Overall, it was a great experience, especially given the very expensive nature of this project.

Their service tech came out to investigate why my air handler was not working. He immediately discovered the Internet fuse was blown on the air handler. He had one and replaced it in two minutes. He also showed me how to replace it myself if it ever happens in the future. Great Job!

Called Caldeco Tuesday and Paul (office manager) took my call. Explained to him that our A/C unit was not working properly, and could he send someone over. We were busy Wednesday, so he had Kim come over at 8:30 Thursday morning. Kim found the problems, fixed them, and was gone by 9:10.

Great response. Professional. Got work done. I'm happy.

Called Caldeco to fix A/C at rental property. They said they would have a service tech out the same day and would call before coming out. Within an hour I received a call. Service Tech showed up on time serviced and cleaned out drain line in the rain.

Caldeco was the first company I used Angie's List to find, and I must say that they were worth the entire annual membership fee. Chris, the technician, was very professional and thorough. He diagnosed my problem as a failed thermostat. When I inquired as to how much it would cost to install a new one, his response: "If you're handy, I can show you how to do it." This was the perfect opportunity for him to rip me off, but he didn't take it! I would use Caldeco over and over again!

Mike arrived at our home within hours. We were hot, and we appreciated the quick response time. Mike was very professional. He took the time to measure our large home. He measured every window and every other factor influencing heat and A/C load, and calculated the proper system size. He evaluated the duct system, and re-engineered the return system for better airflow. He wasn't pushy; he offered several alternatives that would meet our needs. He answered questions thoroughly.

Absolutely A+! Caldeco is the most Responsive, Professional, Knowledgeable service company I have ever had the pleasure of working with! The Best of the Best! The technician, Greg, was very polite and professional and did an outstanding job. The job was rather odd, but he handled it without any problems and the price was very reasonable. I would definately recommend Caldeco and I would hire them again.

The technician (John 397) was polite and knowledgeable. The parts were available and the repairs were made quickly. Great Job. I would not hesitate to call them again.

On a holiday weekend our A/C unit stopped running. The technician Chris offered to come out very late after other calls but we opted for first thing the following morning. He was on time, polite, and very professional. Caldeco has become our ''new'' company for any future work!

Technicians were on time. They were very thorough and kept us informed of their progress as they went about their work. The price included $50 per vent, $225.00 for air handler and heat pump.
