Caldeco Air Conditioning & Heating

They were professional and prompt. They were very knowledgeable. However their price was twice as much as the other company, but he was offering a higher quality machine. He didn't give me a lower cost option. He also needed more information and it would have wound up being a more complicated replacement, so I went with another company for the service.

I called Caldeco as my top floor AC unit was out. Coordinator asked if I wanted someone out that evening, but that it would cost extra. Told him next morning would be fine. They came and did annual services which removed the issue with the upstairs unit. Service Tech was professional and did a great job. Highly recommend.

Technician cleaned the entire A/C unit including the "drum" type fan. He removed all duct/vent covers and cleaned the ducts, vent covers and reinstalled them. The technician was very helpful in explaining what he was doing and what I should be doing in the future to keep the unit in proper operating condition. I would certainly use them again and i would not hesitate to refer family and friends to them.

My mother's A/C went out and she called me at work. She is disabled so this was a big deal to get someone out as soon as possible. I called Caldeco and they had a tech at her house within 15-20 minutes of me calling them. By the time I got there 30 minutes later the tech (Tien) had already fixed the problem. He was very courteous and professional, and the price was very reasonable. I will use Caldeco for any future A/C repair needs

Our A/C quit cooling early Sundary afternoon. I called first thing Monday morning and was told I would receive a call that day. I had also thrown out my back on Sunday so I told them I needed to get to the Chiropractor as soon as they could see me and she said they would work around me. I received a call during my Chrio appointment and was told the technician would call me when he was on his way. When he did call, I was just leaving and told him he could go ahead and go into the back yard that our dogs were locked up and wouldn't bother him. I got hom and headed to the back yard and he already had the A/C pulled apart inspecting it. After abou 1/2 hour he announced he had found a problem with a power contactor that wasn't allowing enough power to pass throught to the compressor. He replaced this and the A/C started blowing ice cold air again. He contintued to verify that was the only problem with our system before closing it up and taking my check and thanking me for calling them. I was so worried the compressor or the entire system was going to need replacing and some companies would've said that's what we needed and not told us about the contactor, but John was honest and thorough and friendly and I will recommend Caldeco to anyone!!

Central Air Conditioning unit would not come on. Kept making a clicking sound, but would not come on at all. Called Caldeco as we have used them in the past at my mother's house and they have always been reliable. The service tech arrived and checked out the unit. At first we thought it may be the compressor, but thank god it ended up being only the capacitor that went out. The tech replaced and the unit is working fine for now. We will be calling them in the near future to come back and do a complete tune up on the unit.

We called the company close to the end of the business day on a Friday. The tech came promptly, diagnosed the problem (a very unusual problem, it turned out) and fixed everything. He stayed late to finish the job and charged us a fair price for his time and expertise.

Late last night I discovered my home central air conditioning unit was not cooling the air. Very early this morning I logged onto Angie's List and saw Caldeco. I called them at 7:30am they said they would have someone at my house when I got done with work at 4pm. The tech arrived on time, quickly found the problem, fortunately it was not major, and got my a/c back on. He also made a couple of observations and recommendations about the 6 year old unit.

Gil, the technician telephoned just before arriving to let us know he was on the way. He arrived on time and began semi annual maintenance work on our air conditioner system, putting on shoe covers to avoid tracking any dirt into the house. He explained the process of checking the full system and flushing the drain lines, cleaning the blower and checking for the proper readings on the units. During the system check he discovered two capacitors were not fully functioning to recommended standards and advised they were subject to failing. He showed us the poor readings and then the readings on the new capacitors. We had him replace the capacitors. He also added Puron (R410 refrigerant)(less than 1 pound) to top off the system which is 10 years old. We were pleased with the service and will continue to use Caldeco for all our air conditioning needs.

Greg from Caldeco arrived right on time. I asked if he'd mind me watching him work, since I know zero about A/C. He was happy to explain everything, show me readings on the instruments, the failed part, readings on new parts, suggest things to watch for in the future. DIAGNOSIS: the fan on the outside condenser unit was not running, and Greg's visual inspection and then testing with instruments confirmed that the capacitor was dead. SOLUTION: Capacitor was replaced. Inspection also showed that we were low on freon, so 2.8 pounds was added. Our A/C is now running wonderfully, and I am signing up for the maintenance program. We are REAL glad that Caldeco works on Sundays. Friendly, prompt, and very competent service!

The service man "Jack" arrived on time and began working immediately. He explained everything that was operating correctly. There was a problem with the capacitor on both units. We decided to have them replaced now rather than wait. We were told the units were running well and we wouldn't need another tune up for a year. We are impressed with the company as our experiences in the past with other AC companies have not been very good. { Two companies wanted to sell all types of additional services, replace parts (on a rather new unit) } { Another claimed the coil needed replaced (it was replaced prior to that under warranty!) } { A third company said the coil was fine. } { We were quite frustrated with these companies and found it difficult to trust their findings and workmanship.} A former contractor recommended Caldeco to us. We are quite happy he did. We will have tune-ups in the future and don't expect to hear "stories" about unnecessary part replacements. We thought the cost a little higher than what we'd expected but were still very pleased with the work. Units are running well.

Able to make appointment smoothly. Serviceman arrived on time an after brief discussion went to work. Needed to replace a major equipment item. Did excellent work. I will continue with this company as I have for several years.

I have done business with this company for 13 years now, and I thought others should know about my experiences. They are honest and dependable. I purchased two different Carrier central air conditioning units (one for upstairs and one for downstairs) from them over the years and have them come out to service each of them once or twice each year. This time, I also had 13 air conditioning vents cleaned. The two men were at my home from 8:30 AM to 2:30 PM, and now I can breathe freely again! I should mention that many years ago another company cleaned my air ducts. They gave me a low ball price before they came to my house, and then after they came to my house told me all the "extras" they could do for a charge. Caldeco gave me one price ($35 per vent) that included everything I needed to have done. These are the types of business every company should have!

They are always very honest and their pricing is very fair. I have been very satisfied with the knowledge, professionalism and friendliness of this company and will continue to use their services.

They were a little pricey, but it really was a complicated system, so I don’t feel they took advantage of us. They are a little bit more, but considering what the situation was it was not going to be a cheap situation.

We arranged everything over the phone; which made life so much simpler to us. We scheduled the service with Marleen at the office, she is very pleasant and helpful. She gave us the estimate of what it would cost to perform the initial tune-up and that's exactly what we paid: no gimmicks or tricks or surprises. The day we scheduled, the tech showed up at the exact time we agreed and started to work. The technician was really nice and he took the time to explain to me what he was doing to the A/C. It turns out the A/C unit had never had any maintenance done to it; so the drainage system was clogged. The price we paid included an AL discount; unfortunately, with all the boxes and chaos from moving I couldn't find the coupon I'd printed. The tech said no problem; I could fax or email it once I found it. I am happy to recommend Caldeco for all your A/C needs, and I'm definitely going to use them again.

I'm extremely pleased with the company. They get a very high rating. I was very pleased with the installation of the new system and removal of the old system. The carpentry work that they did in conjunction with that is very satisfactory. Their follow-up since then has been great and I haven't had any problems whatsoever. I would recommend them.

It went just as expected. The company sent the most knowledged salesman out to evaluate what was needed. I was given an estimated written quote so there were no hidden charges. The price on the dotted line is the price I paid. This was the 2nd company I called for an estimate and the first was more. The reason is they tried to say I needed all new duct work and a higher SEER rating than what I actually needed. No one had lived in the home prior to all the remodel work including this work for some time, so I have nothing to compare the electric bills to but I can say this, for more than a year now the bills have not exceeded $100.00 per month. The system is sized and installed correctly and the proof is in the bill. The new system coupled with the new insulation and sealing the ductwork improved this home drastically in terms of efficiency. We could not be happier with the final results. The system runs very quiet, you can hardly tell it is running. This was an all around very good experience from the person answering the phone, to the salesman to the installation crew. We would highly recommend Caldeco!

It went well. They were helpful, knowledgeable and they listened. They answered all of the questions that I had. I had talked with a few other companies that didn't give me but a few choices. Caldeco gave me a whole catalog with a lot of options to choose from. He told me that as an Angie's List member, I would receive a discount. I was happy with their work and the A/C unit has been running for a month now and have had no problems with it. It's silent and very efficient. They also did a couple of extra things for me as well at no charge.

Bad...again, they did not show up for the appointment. We've had a good experience with them before but they are slipping.

Almost perfect. Arrived later than scheduled without call to alert and used personal ladder without request. Enjoyed Angies List discount. Appears to have done an excellent job.

Everything was very good. The sales rep, Steve, was fantastic-- very thorough and explained everything. I felt very educated on what was being done. The service was performed very quickly from the time I made my decision. Very prompt, professional, they left no mess. They went above and beyond in cleaning up. They were great.

The salesman was very proffessional as well as all the workers doing the job. I was expecting a terrible mess. I was wrong. They were very clean and cleaned every day before they left. The salesman said 4-days and started on a Wednesday and finished on Friday around 2PM. He put extra help on the job so as to finish before the weekend. I would highly reccomend them to anyone and will certainly use them again in the future.

Very impressive presentation. The representative put little blue booties on over his shoes and measured every room thoroughly. Pulled out a computer and portable printer and created a very professional printed estimate. Clearly the company has invested in its sales force. However, the estimate for the units were almost double the other two estimates, and one of the others I received included 10 year labor as well as mechanical warranty.
