I sustained over $600 in damage to my belongings, due to what I can only regard as carelessness. I was only reimbursed for $125. I asked the moving crew to wrap and pad my brand new furniture before they began moving it (as I was told by the Sales Rep it would be), but they said no because it was a “safety issue.” They said they could only wrap it while it was in the truck. So, as a result, our dresser drawers sustained several gouges while it was being banged against our walls/stairway. Our marble dining room table was dropped and cracked. When I brought the damage to the Lead Mover’s attention, he said someone would be contacting me the next day to come out and complete the repairs. I asked if I would have to pay a deductible and he said no, not for something like that. Three weeks later and no call from anyone to coordinate the repair. So, I had to call the main office, and to my surprise was told there would in fact be a $500 deductible. Worst of all No return calls from management after several requests. Terrible experience and terrible company.

Atlantic Relocation Systems agreed to have one of the moving company personnel in Hawaii drive my car from Hilo to Kailua-Kona (75 miles, one-way), but our second car arrived a week after the container with our household goods and another car. As a result, Gary Hoffman agreed to pay up to $150 for a towing company to remove the second car from the container to make up for having us have to drive to Hilo to pick up the car. I subsequently submitted my receipt for the towing charge, but it's now been four months and have not received a reimbursement check. I have made numerous calls and sent several e-mails to Gary Hoffman, but he has so far refused to respond in any way. If I were you, I would not believe anything this man says.

Everything went well on the Tampa end of this move, but the Chicago end of the trip was and still is a disaster. The movers bringing our belongings to our new home in the Chicago area were over 3 HOURS LATE, resulting in DELIVERY NOT DONE UNTIL 11:30 pm. . Several items were LOST and are STILL MISSING. Several pieces of furniture had pieces BROKEN off and are STILL NOT REPAIRED. Several pieces of furniture have DEEP GOUGES and deep scratches and are STILL NOT REPAIRED. We have a WALL HANGING that ISN'T OURS and no one has responded to my request to have someone pick it up. I filed a DAMAGE CLAIM as reqired by Atlas, but have only recieved an automated email confirming they received the claim. Atlas has provided NO FURTHER INFORMATION about how they're going to address my missing or damaged property or when/if someone will pick up to property that was delivered to me that isn't mine. We don't know when our furniture became damaged or when the missing pieces went missing. We are extremely frustrated that Atlas has not yet responded to address how they will correct our specific situation.

Response from Atlantic Relocation Systems
Atlantic Relocation moved [member name removed] in late March and returned to his home on April 15th to repair a bed that was not assembled correctly. 2 movers were in his home for about 1 hour. On May 11th, 25 days later, [member name removed] called and accused the movers of stealing his wife's jewelry from a drawer while they were in his home. I informed him that our movers are 100% background checked and that was unlikely, but instructed him to file a police report, which he did. The Manatee Sheriff's office conducted a complete investigation including interviews with the movers and a statewide pawn search. No arrests or charges were made. Upon our initial denial., [member name removed] threatened legal action and a social media blast against Atlantic if we didn't pay up. Atlantic turned this over to our insurance carrier who turned this over to a 3rd party claims administrator who conducted their own investigation. This included face to face interviews with myself, my movers, and an in home visit with [member name removed]. This resulted in a denial of any liability based on " no evidence to support the allegation". We have done everything we could but cannot pay a claim for something we had nothing to do with. We regret [member name removed]'s loss but Atlantic has taken every step to honor his claim. We simply have no proof that our movers were involved with his missing jewelry. [member name removed] is unhappy with the outcome of the investigation and has chosen to try to tarnish our A rating with the BBB and has now filed a complaint with Angie's List as well.

We found their facility to be very clean, and very secure. We have moved around many times and these are some of the best movers we've ever used.

Upon arriving @ our residence on July 15th, every box was given an item number and stickered. At the time, of inventory - we were not given the chance to do this and keep an eye on the movers and note what he was writing down on the inventory sheets. There were 6 pages of inventory sheets that were filled out. We also had a separate stop to a UHAUL unit to pick up furniture and add this to the inventory. At the UHAUL they picked up a couch, tv, dining table with glass topper, 2 chairs, 1 chair, 1 ottoman, 1 coffee table with tiles and glass topper, 1 side table with tile and glass topper. These two tables were wrapped and securely in place with regard to the glass and the tiles. I told them not to tip the tables when moving them. They needed to be kept flat. One gentleman followed instructions. Another picked up the large coffee table - tilted it and the tiles fell out and broke. He was the Manager of the other 2 helpers. He said they would be replaced. This was on the 9th - the items were all loaded on our truck and headed back to the warehouse to be put into AC storage and crated. Needless to say on the morning of the July15th when the truck arrived, I noticed that the boxes were damp, some of them crushed. The furniture was also damp. I asked why? This should have been in a crate in a warehouse. The driver of the truck who did the picking up of the furniture on the 9th was the same who delivered instructed us, that our items never made it into the warehouse, and stayed on the truck for 5 days in the rain and humidty. We paid extra to have it put into storage and to take it out of storage. As they were bringing our things in at a fervent pace, we quickly noted that they broke the Table leg on the Chippendale Dining Room Table which is an antique. We saw that there was also a very long scratch down the top of the table. This item should have been padded in the truck. I had the movers wrap and pack a picture -- which they are the experts at. The carton came to us crushed on the bottom, I pulled out the picture, the glass was shattered, and we don't know if the print is damaged until they gan remove it from the frame. THEY ARE THE EXPERTS ON PACKING. Thank god, I didn't have they pack most of my other GLASS artwork and PICTURES. Upon opening of our boxes, we found several things that were broken due to the dampness and the boxes collapsing-- I packed these items myself - just like the video instructed with lots of paper, bubble wrap and foam -- didn't matter. antique were lost. They also damaged a HIGHBOY dresser- They knocked off 2 knobs of this antique and gouged the wood by shimmying the piece around. Major damages. We knew that it had scatches on the piece and bottom part was loose and asked them to take care when moving it. They didn't and kicked off the bottom piece of wood and handed it to me. I watched them tilt it and haul it out of my master bedroom. When they started to put together our bed incorrectly - it has to be put together carefully or the bed will break - so they had to start over. -- while they were doing that I was instructing them to read the boxes as they were clearly marked as to where they were to be placed in the house. Most were correctly placed into their rooms -- otherwise they were dumped into our family/room kitchen area. They weren't moving from there. After the rest of the furniture was placed -- they didn't ask me if it was straight or in the right spot or could they move it over a bit -- no they just left it there. Most of our things are not centered on the walls. Our pieces are too big and heavy for myself and my husband to move; henceforth -- we got movers. Upon taking inventory - removing the stickers and matching it to the sheets - is where we found that we are missing items. We called the local office and complained. They said we don't hire thieves. Well these items have never showed up. I filed a Statement of Claim with the Atlantic Relocation Systems office in Atlanta GA regarding this mess before the month was up. After 2 weeks of not hearing anything I called the local office, who then referred me to the GA office. I spoke to my GA person, who then said I have a Claim and they are waiting on approval from a Superior person. I called again after 1 month - no return calls. After 2 months of waiting, I spoke to a supervisor and explained this situation all over again, regarding the broken items, how long it has been and that I wanted someone out here ASAP! On Oct 8, 2014 we finally got someone to come to our house and look at the furniture that was damaged and they will submit the estimate for restoration on the broken items. On Oct. 9th I called back to the GA office letting them know the restoration people were here; but we still want the missing items resolved; whether the replace them, find them or we get cash value for them. After taking inventory -matching stickers back to the inventory sheets - we noticed what we are missing boxes and items. 1) 1 Sony Blue-Ray Player 2) 1 HDMI Cable which was with Sony Blu-Ray Player 3) 1 TV Moving Carton - which we were charged over $100.00 to purchase just to move our 55" TV they took it with them. 4) 1 Leaf from the Dining Chippendale Table 5) 1 Box of Books - College Yearbooks 6) 1 Box of Photos - Family Photos Just a note since below where it asks address where work was performed: 2 addresses -- South Tampa and Valrico. All in all -- I would not recommend this mover. They are overpriced, they don't provide you with enough "free boxes" as we had to go to UHAUL and buy over $100.00 worth of boxes and packing materials, and they have incompentent employees. Once the job is sold through their salesman - good luck in getting satifaction out of the Pioneer office locally here in Tampa. ATLAS should be ashamed to be associated with ATLANTIC Relocation systems.
Description of Work: The provider was to pack some of our items and move our things out of our current residence in South Tampa, into warehouse air-conditioned storage for 5 days and deliver it to us in our new house in Valrico. The day of the move July 9th, the movers were unprofessional- they tried to steal a handtruck that belonged to us, they kept smoking cigars on my front porch, and in left things behind that should have been put on the truck. The way we found out about this was we had to go back to our residence the next day to clean our house prior to the walkthrough for the new owners. They left our oriental rug on the floor which was to be put on the truck. They kept rolling their hand trucks over it and instead of rolling it up and moving it to the truck -- it got dirtier. I asked that a livingroom couch be wrapped in covers and saran wrapped again to keep it clean they assured me that it would be done. When it was delivered- it was never done. There were spots on the bottom of the fringe that are dirty and marks on the couch from their sweat that won't come off.

It didn't go to well. There are a lot of damaged items and some missing. We are in the process of getting it resolved. It has been hard to get in contact with them and a lot of going back and forth over the phone and by email. They want me to pay the rest of the bill before coming out to see the damage. The workers really did go above and beyond by renting an extra truck when we were moving out.

1/2 Jose and his crew were great. They were punctual and worked non stop until everything was out. There was one service elevator in the building and they had to share it with contractors and other owners walking their dogs. They had everything packed and removed in 5 hours. They brought two extra men to the destination and were able to unload in 1 1/2 hr. I have recommended them to others already and would not hesitate to use them again.

They were very professional and punctual. The price was reasonable. I needed a more precise time frame for service and they were able to accommodate me. They held the truck and came early to provide exceptional service. I had a lot of furnishings that I didn't want, and the workers even helped me move all of that furniture out. That allowed me to give all of it away to the Salvation Army. I would definitely use them again.
