Associated Plumbing Inc

SUMMARY: I literally spent a total of 9 days without running water waiting for Associated Plumbing Inc to re-pipe my whole house due to a leak underneath the slab. The morning they were scheduled to fix the problem they canceled stating they didn't have enough employees to do the job due to callouts. They were supposed to come out the following day, Saturday, and they did a NO CALL NO SHOW leaving me ALL weekend without running water while they were aware I was still living in my condo. They also DID NOT return any of my phone calls or voicemails ALL weekend until Monday morning came around at which point my homeowners association had already called a different plumbing company to do the work because I couldn't be without running water another day. They completely lost our trust. FULL STORY: I found a leak outside & inside my condo. My homeowners association called Associated Plumbing Inc that Monday. They came out that day and scheduled to look inside my walls in an attempt to locate the leak the following day (Tuesday). I didn't want holes in my walls so I inquired about doing a leak detection instead which was done on that Tuesday by a third party company that Associated Plumbing recommended. It was discovered that the leak was underneath the slab and the third party company recommended I re-pipe my whole house. The problem and recommendations were discovered on Tuesday. I'm not sure why so much time was wasted since they were aware I was still living in my condo without any running water all this time, but finally at 3 PM on Thursday Associated Plumbing finally called me stating they were going to come out and fix the problem the following day. I informed them I would reach out to my HOA to find out who's paying for everything before giving them green light. I called my HOA at 3:11 PM and I called Associated Plumbing back around 3:20 PM giving them the green light to come out. My fiancé called out sick to work on Friday to be available for them since they informed us it would be an all day repair. Friday morning they called to cancel stating they didn't have enough workers to come out b/c they had call outs. They rescheduled for the next day and my fiancé called out sick again on Saturday expecting them to show up. On Saturday not only did they also, once again, not show up, they did a no call no show and despite my multiple phone calls and voicemails to them I did not hear from them that entire weekend until Monday morning when they apologized for not coming out and not calling. They attempted to reschedule a 3rd time to come out but at that point they lost my complete trust and my association had to hire a different company to come out and do the job.

One plumber, one labor ready . Mike, owner said he charges 85 dollars and hour.... took 6 hours incorrectly hooking PVC piping to the sprinkler system and the water softener, then in the last hour finally replaced the 4 inch pipe that I already had exposed for them. Left for an hour and half to supposedly go to Lowes because they "didn't have the correct size pvc piping on the truck .(it wasn't an unusual size pvc pipe). Sent me a Bill for 940 $ (85 x 6) hmmmm and when I called Mike and questioned it he literally yelled at me and didn't fold until I told him I had the work and time they were here on my home security system. Told him I'd pay 375$ and he ranted on for another yelling spree. He asked for my credit card number! Told him I'd have the bank send him a check. He finally yelled that he'd take the 375$, then yelled, "And don't ever call here again." and hung up on me. The work should have taken less than an hour, as the plumber originally stated, piece of cake, as I had the problem area already exposed. Very unprofessional and quite frankly scary intimidating experience.

Plumber (his name is Buddy) came out in the morning as promised and said it would be better to replace the pipe rather than try to find the leak. He estimated about $1,300 based on 8 hours of work for two plumbers at $85 per hour plus parts. He said he could do it the next day. I agreed to the job. I figured I could save about half the cost by doing part of the work myself. My step-son and I spent about four hours that day exposing the end of the pipe where it connects to the house, a sprinkler head which would be in the way and removing some concrete that would be in the way. Buddy came out the next day on time, but brought a kid from a local day labor company instead of another plumber. In three hours they were at the point of connecting to the house line but instead of doing that, Buddy removed the two connections closer to the house which were not leaking and spent the next three hours replacing them with seven connections of various sizes because he didn't have a complete set of connections in the correct size. In doing this, he broke the copper line going into the side of house and had to spend another hour replacing that and the main valve to the house. After speaking to the owner,Mike Lewis, he agreed to come out to look at the job done by Buddy. He agreed Buddy did not need to replace any of the connections on the house, but was reluctant to reduce the price which he put at $1,225. We eventually agreed on a price of $925 which I feel is too high. I am not happy with this job.
