Appliance Repair Specialists

I called Appliance Repair Specialists and they sent someone out the next day. He was courteous, professional and pinpointed the problem right away. A shut off switch on the dryer door had broken. He had the part in his van and did the repair efficiently. I told him about seeing ARS on Angie's list and got a nice discount. I was very happy with the good service, the Angie's list discount and a fully operational dryer!

They arrived on time. Checked out my washing machine, explained what was wrong, quoted a price. The washing machine was repaired and 2-3 months later still working with no issues.

Everything worked fine after work finished.

They had all the certifications and stars and awards and everything. They've been in business for a long time, a lot of years. The gentleman that fixed my dryer, his name was Jeff, and he was very good and a very nice guy. How it was relieved, the problem was a simple repair, simple to fix. They were really good. I would call the same company again; I'm going to do that because my refrigerator needs some maintenance. I was expecting the worst, and it was great. He was very good; he was there when he said he'd be there.

I had three separate little things that need to be done, two and then one. Great service techs, great customer service. Very very happy with the company and the work and the care the serviceman took to explain things to me and to make sure I was happy before they left.

These guys are WAY overpriced. They charged me a ridiculous $171.60 for labor that took less than 45 minutes which includes writing up the invoice. They charged $224.00 for the motor controller board which sells for $189.00 at Sears Parts direct (so it is already marked up) and they took the old part which they re-sell. I understand businesses need to make a profit, but why take advantage of people like that? I would never use these guys again. I work WAY too hard for my money.

It was okay. They were prompt. They fixed the problem.

They came out in September to repair. Two months later, the same issue came back and the repair specialist than said that it was a Frigidaire issue that they could not fix. If that was the case, why did they take almost $200 to "fix it" earlier? When I called to bring this to their attention they kept telling me it was a different issue which was extremely frustrating since it is the same exact thing.

I have used their services many times. Always good.

I needed to replace on of the refrigerator doors. It was dented by the painters while moving the stainless steel refrigerator. I called many, many refrigerator repair places. Several actually hung up on me after telling them what I needed. Two others took my information, quoted me the cost but did not return my (numerous) calls back to schedule the service! I finally talked to Appliance Repair Specialists. Since this wasn't actually a repair, they suggested I might want to order the door from another source since it would be 4 to 6 weeks or more to get the part through their distributors. They also offered suggestions on doing the work myself! He gave me the part number I would need. I had tried previously to find the part on line by searching the make and model but could not find it. With the part number I was able to find numerous suppliers. ARS said they could come out if I had any trouble doing the work myself. I can't tell you the dead ends I ran into before calling APR. I appreciate their help, especially when they didn't make anything from my calls.

Repairman turned the machine, listened 5 seconds and told me what the problem was. Replaced the pump, showed me why the old pump part was broken, and how a new part is supposed to work. Very happy with the professionalism and the excellent service.

Worked very hard to get the door open and succeeded. Explained what happened and was very clean and neat. Would call again.

Mario diagnosed, gave me an estimate, reduced the total for service call and the coupon on the site. It was quick response, 1 day part order and installed the next day on my schedule. Very happy!!😊

Very well... It was very easy to set up an appointment, the office staff was informative and helpful in scheduling the appointment. The tech arrived on time and did a great job... We were very happy with the results.

Great company. They worked hard to fix Sears' screw up. I will never use Sears again for repairs. They scammed me. ARS was professional and bent over backwards to get the frig fixed as soon as possible. Kudos to Maytag as well as they shipped the replacement compressor direct from the factory. When it arrived, ARS was here to swap it out and less than 2 hours later the frig was making ice. ARS was a little expensive in my opinion but they did the job and did it well.

I do not normally write reviews, however this appointment did not go well. 1. Our dryer smelled burnt, like we had a fire, which is why we hired Appliance Repair Specialists. 2. They did not fix the problem. The technician opened the dryer and vacuumed a little. He told us that we'd have to re-open the dryer and wipe it down if we wanted to get rid of the burnt smell, maybe, since he did not take the time to wipe it down himself and had already closed the dryer back up. He told us upon leaving that he did not know how long the burnt smell would last, or if it would go away, or if we would need to buy a new dryer to keep all of our clothes from smelling burnt. 3. After being pressed for information by my husband, the technician told him that our outside vent probably needed to be cleaned and he was told that he could go to Home Depot and find something to help with that. When my husband asked the technician if he could do that, he rudely said "No", another tech would have to do that. The strange, smug attitude of the technician that came out was very off-putting and we would never hire this company again. 4) We ended up having to hire another company the next day, that we found on Angie's List, to clean our dryer and it is like new! No burnt smell, and no fear that it could happen again, since they actually cleaned the dryer properly after recommending opening the dryer "again" and wiping everything down, on top of doing a dryer vent cleaning inside and outside. The cost for the 2nd company was actually a little cheaper and we are still scratching our heads as to what we paid Appliance Repair Specialists for, other than to come and look inside our dryer and do a little vacuuming and leaving our laundry room floor a mess when he left.

It went great! I called and discussed what was wrong with my washer and the lady on the other line was very professional and very helpful and concerned. I explained to them what make and model my washer was and what time frames were best for me and so she scheduled an appointment within A 3 hour window. The following day Chris showed up at my door looking very professional with a smile on his face. He came in to assess the situation and let me know what was wrong. Within minutes he had an answer for me and a quote. He fix the problem within a half an hour and clean up behind himself. He was a pleasure to work with and I will I definitely recommend them and use them again.

Excellent. Eric arrived on time, asked questions, explained the problem after testing, explained additional possible work besides the compressor. He enabled us to make a decision whether to repair the unit or purchase a new one, a decision we felt confident about based on his explanation of the facts and the probability of additional work (i.e. condenser replacement) being required.

A man and his wife called ahead with an eta to make sure I would be home and arrived punctually. They asked me what the problem was and where the machine was located. They politely asked for towels and space and went to work almost immediately. They knew the model number of the fridge and informed me that my problem was in the pump/drainage system. Apparently, the Whirlpool designers had tried a new design on the drainage system but it was failing across the board. The part was therefore a recall and under warranty. Their cost would be labor. He took out a small reference book and showed me what the cost would be. The initial visit would be circa $70, which would be waived on installation. Total cost was circa $175, which perhaps is high... but I just needed it fixed and they did so quickly. They defrosted the ice from the rest of the freezer and cleaned up any mess. They also took the time to show me where the install was taking place and what parts failed on the old design. He also remembered that the ice maker did not work. He showed me how to dismount the unit and informed me that the parts are designed to fail every 2 years. That this part already failed and had burned marks. Instead of hustling the part for more money for the sale, they offered me the parts number, the relative price, options of where to purchase it and instructions on installation. it was all so easy that I will be sorting that part out myself. And I thank them for empowering me to fix my own ice machine instead of trying to make another sale. It was a rewarding and education experience on my fridge. They were in an out in about an hour or so. Super fast and easy. I very much would recommend them.

Great arrived on time one day and before time the next day. Problem quickly diagnosed, part ordered and installed professionally. Great work.

Prompt troubleshooting followed by replacement part 3 days later.

They gave me a 3 hour window for Monday 11/16 and my wife waited during the entire 3 hour window with no technician. I called the company to ask where the technician was and they confirmed that I was on the schedule and they would call dispatch right away to get me an update. Over an hour later I still had no call so I followed up again to ask if someone was in fact coming or if they were going to reschedule the appointment. They said at that point the office was closed but someone would call me first thing in the morning. No one called. I called again and spoke to someone who said "Oh yeah I have your message right here" but apparently she could not get a hold of the technician that was supposed to have come to my house the day before and said he was "in training" until the afternoon and she might not be able to reach him. I asked if I could get a different technician to come to my house today because I still have a broken dishwasher and she said they were all full that day. They did not offer to work me in the schedule today or do anything other than say they didn't know why their tech did not show. After she said they were full for the day, we both sat on the phone in silence for a few moments before I finally said, "well I guess I will call another company." She said, "ok, sorry." If you need someone out to your house within a couple weeks to diagnose your problem this is not the company to call. They already have too much business to care about the new customers that are calling apparently. If you want to sit at your house for 5 hours waiting on a technician that never comes, not have your phone calls returned when you call to check on the status and have a company make no effort to put you on the schedule in order to have someone come out to be paid for a job they advertise themselves as doing - this is the company for you!!

Everything went fine. It took a couple of days to get the new unit because of the labor day weekend

When I placed the call to schedule the appointment Shannon was very accommodating. Eric arrived within the time frame we were given and immediately went to work on the problem (which was not a common one). He found what the issue was, a corroded spring on the door, and showed us the part and discussed how the corrosion happened. The part was ordered and within 2 days Eric returned. Again, he immediately went to work. He even said that if we wanted to watch him and ask questions we were more than welcome to. In the previous visit I had mentioned that the bleach dispenser leaked every time that I used the washer and when the lid broke it had stopped. He even took the time to clean the dispenser and when all was said and done it turned out the broken spring/unit was causing the leak. He did a few test cycles before he left to be sure everything worked. I would definitely call them again in the future. One last note...for a young man Eric's penmanship was excellent! It was a pleasure to actually "read" a repair sheet.
