Air conditioning, heat pump, troubleshooting, diagnosis, preventive maintenance, humidifiers & duct work replacement.
The two men were professional and very efficient. They had to coordinate with a subcontractor for a crane to be used to place the compressor on the rooftop of condo in downtown St. Petersburg. They were friendly and thorough in their explanation of the Nest unit that they installed with the Rheem AC. Yes. We would hire them again. Very satisfied with all the process.

The two guys who installed the AC unit didn't get along with each other and I had to listen to them fight all day long. Extremely unprofessional. The guys that did the duct work were professional, but I just learned, two weeks from when the work was allegedly completed, that it was not completed in a way that would allow it to pass the City of Tampa inspection and that I have to have additional work done. That was supposed to happen today and they just called to reschedule. I work, so none of this has been convenient. All of their employees tried to hard sell and upsell everything and although I reported that my returns/vents were rattling extensively from the day they were installed, they have still not been able to get back out to get that fixed - just lots of calls and texts about paying an additional $1750 for insulation - that was a hard pass for me; I am sure I can get that work done for less. For $15,000, I expect better service than this.
Description of Work: I was sold a complete new AC unit and told I needed to replace all of the duct work in my house.

HORRIBLE, We had a service called done on Tuesday 8/22/17 by Hunter he sold us a install of a new system for Saturday, they never made the scheduled appointment for 2:30pm 8/26/17, never called to say they were running late, I had to track them down finally about 4:00pm they want to reschedule, I had this appt. set since Thursday 8/24/17, our A/C had completely stopped working they knew this. also we have 2 dogs, I have asthma they knew this, 3 days no air 90 degree heat inside and they want to reschedule, finally they sent 1 tech out 5 1/2 hrs later @7pm to do the job that takes 3-4 hours on a good day, how were they going to get this done. After 30 minutes of measuring it DOES NOT FIT the tech was here on Tuesday why sell me a system that won't fit, now they want to sell me a MORE EXPENSIVE $$$ system sounds like a BAIT N SWITCH to me costing thousands of dollars more and can't be put in until tomorrow, another day of 90 degree heat no A/C. I lost it, how can a company do this no customer service, no communication, no training, we have waited for them and now DISAPPOINTMENT. The gm said he can put in another unit at cost but I will have to pay out of my pocket demo dry wall repair to get it to fit. I have to have a/c we agree for tomorrow 9-11am. The gm calls back 15 minutes later and says they will not do anything for us it's now 8pm on Saturday, it was a set up to get us to pay more $$$ when I agreed to the original terms they backed out and canceled the service contract. This company is a scam, look at their own Facebook reviews they have 7 / 1 ratings out of the first 10 reviews, I wish I would have looked and wasted 3 days with no air on them. They need to be reported to the BBB, which I will do

We called another Company for another opinion. They found the drain line up at the unit level almost completely clogged with built up algae. They replaced some of the drain pipe because it was so clogged up. Now the unit runs fine. They told me the drain pan was fine. Total cost. $200. I will not use Air Rescue ever again. I'm a senior citizen on a fixed income and cannot afford unnecessary repairs.
Description of Work: Our A/C was leaking water onto the garage floor. This was a few weeks after they were out to perform maintenance. The responding Technician told me that we had a cracked drip pan that needed to be replaced. This would cost $550.

So to start, this was not even a service call for my air conditioning unit but it ended up being one after he left. I wanted to switch out thermostats but he was determined to sell unit that day. He tried to convince me it wasn't cooling. I knew it absolutely was! I wasn't buying it at all. Then after I insisted that he call to see the price for the part to fix it verses a new unit at $8,000, that brought the price to around $2000.00. I told him I would think about it. That night my house got so hot! I don't believe for a second it was a coincidence. I never called for my unit. My air was working just fine! I called Air Rescue again and they sent another technician out. He tried to push the maintenance plan too. Said I had a leak and backed the other technician. I didn't trust them at all. I knew a 7 year old unit had more life in it. When he left, I called Progressive Air and they sent a technician over that evening. He tested for a leak and NO LEAK! I believe Air Rescue tried to sell me a unit during that time and may have even let the coolant out of my unit. I ended up having to pay another company to come and fix their mess. UGH!!!!!

The guy really put himself out to make the drawer possible to open, and to keep the airing flow confined to what it used to be. The main office to go ahead and conceive the point and buy me a new drawer with the proper clips to hold the filter flat. It took an hour to do the job. We received a good deal. I was very please with what they did. They come out every time I called.

The first red flag was that the price for this 'club' was MUCH less if paid monthly via CC auto pay than if paid up front. I'm sure they are hoping people will forget or not notice the $14,95 charge. The second red flag(s) were the very aggressive and quite probably dishonest recommendations they made during each of the two subsequent maintenance visits. I have reviewed these in prior reviews. I cancelled the auto-renewal after the second visit in June, but still had several months to pay on the plan. The company acknowledged by phone and by email that my plan would cancel in October. I guess it shouldn't surprise me that I was just charged for the 13th month this month. Just more reason no one should do business with these crooks.
Description of Work: I called AR a little over a year ago for an AC repair. Against my better judgement, I signed up for their "maintenance club" which gave me a discount on the repair as well as 2 maintenance tune ups per year.

3 different techs in 6 months all had very different assessments of our system and recommended 'repairs'. i understand they are paid for parts and labor, but the suggestions for replacing parts we got were over the top. When the technician talked to my wife about a replacement system due to the age and "trade in" of our now working system we asked him to provide a quote. He would not provide a quote without setting an appointment to sit down with both of us. He claimed every system is different and we can't just quote generic stuff. My response was that he had just inspected our system so he knows what is involved. In reality, they probably want the opportunity to close the sale with both spouses present and not have the opportunity to shop with a competitor. I get it, but I was not the one suggesting a whole replacement and then not willing to offer a quote. Next he suggested that we replace the blower fan as it 'could go out anytime'. I questioned how it was possible to know this. An electric fan either works or doesn't. There isn't a progressive diminishing output indicating imminent failure. When I asked for more detail and told him he was losing credibility trying to convince someone with a diagnostic and repair (not A/C) background that he could predict fan motor failure he tried to tell me about the windings in the motor like he was able to test against some specification for this. Overall, the technicians all seemed knowledgable on the systems and able to repair what was wrong, but when performing preventative maintenance they seemed more eager to sell unnecessary repairs and expensive UV air purifications systems than ***** the real condition of my A/C and maintain.

I was told by the tech that replaced the starter in the old unit that the money that I paid for this morning would be credited to my new purchase. So when Joe came in and gave me a total price of $7,500.00 I thought that would be it - total. Little did I realize that I am now paying the $581.00 from the installation of the starter as well as the $7,500 for the new unit. That was not the way I understood it and when I called them to discuss Angela told me that the $581 was credited and when I asked her to explain further she placed me on hold and left me there for 5 minutes to go look for someone who could explain it better. I work from home so I do not have a lot of time to spend holding for someone to get back to me to explain that I'm the incorrect party. So far the unit is working nicely but I am still waiting to see an inspector and the man that did the installation stated that they had to come back to install more powerful circuit breakers in the panel as the ones I have are 20 and they have to replace with 25. I feel that $8,081 is very high price to pay for a 2.5 ton Frigidaire unit and I kick myself for not getting more estimates to see who would have had the better price for a better known unit. I didn't think I would feel like I was bamboozled by a company that I pay a monthly installment to be in their "service club" to get discounts and have been for several years. Well I guess that's what happens when you assume. And now I'm paying for it. Most likely will be canceling my club membership and when someone asks me about Air Rescue I will tell them to make sure they get all the details in writing before signing on the dotted line. Best part is that I was not asked if I was an Angie's List Member cause now I see a $500.00 discount for members. The reason I put N/A in Quality is because the unit is only been in a day and I have not yet seen how it will perform in the summertime. Yet to be determined.
Description of Work: Technician came out to fix what ended up being a bad starter for the compressor. I then asked him to send the "Comfort Rep" to come to see how much it would be to replace the entire unit since it was now over 10 years of age and each time they come out something is wrong with the system (last time it was a leak in the line). So they sent Joe out to see me. I ended up having them install a new Frigidaire system - both compressor and air handler.

When I called the company they told me how much the diagnostic fee would be and gave me time for later in the day. I explained that I had a small child and needed service as quickly as possible. Much to my surprise, I got a phone call within the hour letting me know that they had pushed me to priority service and a technician was on the way. The technician that arrived was very professional looking in his uniform and actually put shoe booties on before entering my home. I'm super impressed with the details he put in fixing my air. They had a membership program that I was able to join that day to save money then and I the future. Super impressed!

My personal experiances with this company leave me with nothing positive to say about Air Rescue. If you like to spend your hard earned money on things that matter, consider your options before starting a relationship with this company. I used this company for two years and shame on me for being lazy and not questioning their ethics. My house and unit are only 6 years old and in the two years Air Rescue provided my tune ups, I had spent over $2000 and then of course it is convenient to become a member so you can get the lower cost on services, but membership comes with a monthly price. They will scare you into anything. On their last visit, I had enough. Their technicians have a canned approached and the last guy I could tell he was trying to remember his rehearsed lines. I called another company in after Air Rescue and the results are as I expected. Air Rescue hit me for over $500, the second company came in and validated my system was in perfect condition and needed no repairs. You can learn from my mistakes, look for a company that works in the best interest of BOTH the customer and the company.
