On June 27th my AC went out and I called Air Masters of Tampa Bay Inc. emergency number. I never received a call back and had to call another company to come and address my AC issue.

The technician, Fabrizio Rodriguez, was able to identify the problem almost instantly. He showed me the ratings of both the old and new parts on a meter and had the whole job completed within 20 minutes. His explanations weren't too technical, and his professionalism and skills gave me a very good impression about this company.
Description of Work: Identified that a blown capacitor was the issue, and replaced it with a new part.

They were also very good. That was a very good experience because he wasn't trying to sell a unit just for money. They're admirable and they said my unit was still in a good shape. The people were very fast and criticize and people want something that works out well. I would tell you the truth that if I didn't like what they said or behaved, I would have certainly go online and tell Angie's List because I don't want somebody else to have a problem. We haven't had any problem and they also explained to me everything and how much it would cost.
Description of Work: There was a problem with my air conditioning and Air Masters fixed it. We had some tubing.

They diagnosed the problem with my old system, showing me specifically what was wrong. They gave me the information on how much it would cost to repair it or replace it, and I didn't feel any pressure either way. When I decided to get a new system, they scheduled it for install the next day. They showed up promptly on time and finished the install a little faster than their original estimate. The service and install technicians were very professional. I am totally impressed and would definitely recommend them to anyone.

Technician came out and proceeded to remove electrical components from unit claiming they were defective he replaced two capaciters. I had previously told them we had a rattle in the compressor unit. This was not checked. Man came down from attic access did not rearange insulation, left a mess on the floor. He gave me a bill of 359.00. Service call was supposed to be 59.00. They did not complete service got mad when I question bill. I checked price of parts billed 104.80 my cost 15.69 145.20 my cost 38.88. Called to complain got manager who gave me a lecture on electronics. Did not want to adjust bill. I have stopped payment until this is resolved. Question: Old parts were weak not blown were supposed new parts new? Ques 2 Did not see them or box they came in! Unit runs motor does not cool as well. Still has rattle Insulation in attic still in disarray People did not complete services as promised We are in our mid 70?s is this the reason we were treated this way? Why was a club membership of 180.00 dollars pushed so hard I want a refund!

It went well. My only issue was I was given a 2pm-4pm window, so I took a half day off from work, and he didn't get there until 6:55 pm. I know it's summer in Florida, and I know they are busy and I appreciated the fact they got out there on the same day I called for service. I know things happen and the call prior to mine ended up being a bigger job than anticipated, but this was my only complaint. Juan was very nice, professional, and didn't try to sell me everything under the sun, which I sincerely appreicate. I felt it was a good job for a decent price. The A/C is working fine now.
Description of Work: A/C was running non stop, not cooling, couldn't keep up with the temperature. They came out, freon level was slightly low, but they couldn't find the leak. He said that it must be a very small leak as the freon wasn't all gone and the detector could not locate it. He suggested we wait until after summer, and retest to see if we could locate it.

Thank you for the review. Customers a lot of times don't realize that capacitors get weak over time and need to be changed because fan motors and compressors over heat when capacitors get weak. This is one of the items we always check for on maintenance inspections.

The problem with the A/C started 5-24-14. Air Masters came and added Freon to the system then. The problem re-occurred 6 days later on 5/30/14. Instead of sending someone to find the leak, Air Master sent Tony a "technician/sales" person. I was not aware of this at the beginning when he introduce himself. He went to the attic and outside to check the system. He came back and the following are his notes on my receipt: Leak in system gave rough est. on repair and replacement. 5-7 k for new system. 1.6k - 4.3k for repair (Compressor /Coil) He informed me the $74.00 for today's call would go against a new system if I decided to buy one but not for a repair. I told him I would think about it and call them back. Tony said to make sure to ask for him for a new installation but if I decided to repair the system Air Master would send a different technician to do the repair. Obviously, I was not thinking and I went ahead and made a check for $74.00 for this information. I told him I would call back later. I should have never made the check. Tony came to charge us 74 dollars to tell us the same information we receive by Air Master 6 days prior. That is just wrong. Air Master should have sent a technician to troubleshoot the problem. When this second call was opened the following was said, "We are having the same problem again. We need someone to come and find where is the leak coming from." After being treated in this manner I called the next day and left a message with the emergency operator (Sunday) To please have a supervisor call me on Monday. No one called so I called them back. Once again left a message with operator for a supervisor to call me back. No call again. Finally, I was able to talk to Phillop Gonzales (supervisor). This call was late during the day. I explain my situation and express how it did not make sense to send someone to do anything else but to find the leak. Mr. Gonzales ask me to be put on hold I said o.k. When he got back to the phone he said the person who deals with the paper work has gone home (by this time it was after 5 p.m.). He said he would call me the next day - yesterday. I'm still waiting for his call. The problem A/C leak was fixed by another company for $452 including Freon & maintenance in the system. Definitely not doing business with Air Master EVER AGAIN!
Description of Work: Give me an estimate rather than find where the Freon leak was coming from.

Their pricing was certainly fair, they aren't sky high and they were reasonable. They have quality of workmanship, they really know what they are doing so we just think that they are pretty good company. They have been around for a long time, long history here in the Campbell. I guessed we just feel safe with them, they do honor their coupon and I know that they are trying to make a buck to other company or something, we just wave the coupon in front of them if something is broken. Technically they do a good job, their pricing is pretty fair and they are not going anywhere they've been here for along time, so we know the Air Masters will not disappear next year or next month.
Description of Work: We are using Air Masters of Tampa Bay Inc. for our air conditioner. We have them once a year for tune up on the system. In fact we used your coupon $59.00 for tune up, they call and follow up for doing a check-up. I'm happy to pay for $59 according to your coupon and if you find anything wrong and they'll said that your system is fine, everything is good but they did up inspection and cleaning for sixty bucks.

My A/C started blowing hot air last night, 5/24/14 at approx 8 PM. A friend who had used Air Masters before recommended that I call them, since was pleased with the work they had done for her. I called and Christopher advised me that they would be at my house between 9 and 11 AM today, 5/25/14. Christopher called me at 9:15 today to let me know Fabrizio was on his way to my house. He arrived within 15 minutes and was able to replace two faulty parts on my system. That solved the problem. Fabrizio also cleaned my drip pan in the attic and cleaned the compressor unit. Fabrizio was neat in appearance and took social care to keep my home clean as he went in and out several times. He was professional, competent and efficient. I am eel pleased with he and Air Masters. I will definitely recommend this company to my family and friends. I even signed up for a yearly maintenance contract that will assure that my system remains in top shape. I appreciate the quick handling of my problem that Air Masters gave me and the excellent service they provided.

Our AC was not normally cooling off the house and the condenser was running non-stop. I called Air Masters on Saturday morning at 8:45. Chris called me back at 9:00. He ran through some trouble shooting I could do on my own to avoid a service trip. While it didn't work, I was grateful for the info and at least the opportunity to try. Fabrizio came out at 4:00 on the same day (after a big job in another part of town.) By 4:30 we were recharged with Freon, received some education on a possible small leak, and we were all set. Now we are cooling off by the minute. Thanks Air Masters, we appreciate your quick, professional, considerate service. NOTE: I marked service cost NA as I did not get any other bids for a Saturday service, so I have nothing to compare it to. I was tol They charge $59.00 for the service call and $50/half our labor plus parts/materials of course. Freon ran $51/ lb. Even without comparison shopping, I felt this was a good value.

I called the company Friday mid morning, and by 4 pm the same day service man Gus arrived. Turns out the problem was due to a bad solenoid on the outside unit. Gus diagnosed this issue right away, and within an hour I had cool air once again. Very satisfied.

They were extremely pleasant. Linda Thomas was our sales person. She not only estimated with years of experience, but she helped us find the cheapest way to achieve our goals. We had had a humidity problem. She also came to supervise at installation, and first time ever from a provider, brought muffins. The men were very polite and careful. They were extremely respectful of our walls, stairs, lawn, etc. We really appreciated the care they took in the installation and teardown. Although we hated to part with that money, we are pleased with the result. They were not the cheapest quote, but they did use a quality name product and offered 24 hr service to their products. Linda also came out to determine the satisfaction of the installation prior to county inspection.They will send someone out for minor adjustments that we were unaware of.
Description of Work: They estimated, quoted, and completed the job of replacing two air conditioning units from the attic of our two story home. They removed two units from the attic, and replaced materials throughout the house.

I think it went well. They came out within a couple of weeks. I think everything went smooth and okay. We paid them for some additional services. Tomorrow, they'll be installing a brand new A/C that broke down last week. They seem like a competent company. I don't have any negative aspects to report. There are probably better offers but not they couldn't deliver as quickly. I don't have any objections to any quality issues with them. They come when they said they would come.

I called Air Master's of Tampa Bay at 8 am and was promptly transferred to the service department. Krista informed me that she could have a technician out between 1-4 pm, I asked that they call me 20 minutes in advance so I could leave work and get to the house. At 3:45, I called Krista back as I had not heard from them; she stated that one of her technicians was injured and the other two were having difficulty but that one of the technicians was wrapping up and will be out at my house at 4:30 to service my unit, I agreed and thanked her for her time. I left work and went to my house at 4:30, where I sat and waited. Finally, at 5 pm, I called them and left a message on their answering machine informing them that I had to go back to work. I received a return phone call from Krista at 5:17 apologizing that her technician had just arrived at my house. I explained that it's 45 minutes after the set appointment and I am already travelling back to my office. Krista asked what she could do to make this right? I informed her that my husband would be home at 6 pm and a service technician could come then. She agreed and said she would send someone out at 6 pm. It's 7:31 pm, my husband is still waiting. Now I will have to leave work early again tomorrow to meet a different A/C company. It's so disappointing that I will spend another hot night in my house because Air Master's of Tampa Bay couldn't even call me to let me know their technician would not be out at the scheduled appointment AND then asked me how they could right the situation and AGAIN failed to keep that commitment.
Description of Work: Air Master's of Tampa Bay never actually made it to my house to service my air conditioner after I had set two appointments. had to call them, I left work early to meet them there and they did not even have the courtesy to call me and tell me they would not be coming.

Dear member according to our records we received a call for service at 8:30 am. Informed member that we would be there between 1-4 pm. We called at 2;15 & stated the tech was running behind and we would call when he was 20 minutes away. Member had told us she could get to her house in 10 minutes. We called at 4 pm and toldher the tech would be there between 4:45 and 5 pm. We showed up at 5:14 and know one was home. We called her and she said she had left 2 minutes prior. She said our husband would be home at 6 pm. We called at 7:15 pm to say our mechanic would be there shortly. The tech was told that the unit was not cooling enough and when we checked it out could not find anything wrong. He than suggested to them that the unit may be undersized for the home and we could send a comfort advisor out at no cost to do a heat load calculation on the home. The member did not want us to do that.

Tech Juan Torres was great explaining his work and showing the part needing replacement. Air Masters installed my whole unit in 2006 and has serviced my unit ever since. Juan Torres is a very experienced technician and professional with customers.

I had been using Air Masters for years, and even hired them to install a new system in a home. Never had a problem before. We were under contract for the purchase of a home, and the home inspectors let us know that the air was blowing warm on the air conditioner. I called Air Masters and they came out the next day (7/9/13). Juan checked out the whole system, and found that we were a little low on puron (refilled it) and that the air filter was dirty. The air was blowing cool again, so we proceeded with the home purchase, not negotiating on the price of a new air system. Three weeks later, the air was having trouble keeping up with the programmed temperature. I called Air Masters again, and James came out to take a look at the unit. He found a leaking evaporator coil and a rusty accumulator. He recommended that we replace the evaporator coil and thermal expansion valve, pull out the blower wheel and clean it, and replace the accumulator. He said that the repairs may cost more that an entire new system, so he was going to get us quotes for both the next day. He then offered to top off our puron for $40 to keep the house cool until we could get repairs/replacement done. I told him I didn't want to put anymore in the system, as the leak was right above our bedrooms, and I have 2 small children. I wanted to check to see if it was dangerous to breathe in. The next day, they called with a quote for repairs, and it made more sense, given the price, to purchase an entire new unit. They sent someone out to give us an estimate. I contacted 3 other companies to get estimates from them. When I told their estimator that we purchased the house on the assumption that the AC was good, she took off the amount of the last 2 bills from the estimate for the installation of a new system. While waiting for quotes to come in, I did some research and decided to have them top off the puron until a new system was installed. I called them and told them where we were, and they said they could send a tech out to top it off for $40. That was surely a small price to pay for a few days of comfort in August. This is $10 less than a quote for "a few pounds of freon" from another reviewer. Also, it was the same price the tech quoted me a few days earlier. The tech came that evening and topped it off. Then, he presented us with a bill for $320.00. After I explained to him that I was quoted $40, he called his boss, Bo. I could hear Bo's side of the conversation. He was quite rude to the tech, and demanded that the tech ask me if we were using their company for the new installation. I told the tech to tell Bo that we were still waiting on one quote, but that should not matter, as we were quoted $40 for this particular call. At the end, Bo had the tech suck the puron back out, and we did not pay for anything. After all the quotes came in, Air Masters, even with discounting for the previous service calls, were thousands over anyone else. We chose a different company to install our new system. I called the office and spoke with Phillip about reimbursing us the 2 tech calls, as we lost thousands purchasing a home with a faulty air system that needed to be replaced less than a month after closing. He said he needed to pull the first invoice, and that he would call me back. He never did. I called several times and left messages. They were never returned. After contacting the Better Business Bureau, the owner finally called me to talk. After a brief conversation where I stated I wanted a refund, he said he would think about it and let me know. A week later, I received a letter stating I could take the price of the 2 service calls off my next service. Really? You think I'm going to use your company ever again? I wouldn't even give that coupon away!

Received a call from my tenant at 6:30 on a Friday night. A/C would not cool home. All components were running, so we new we had a problem. I found Air Masters on Angie's List, and I see their trucks frequently throughout town. They were one of the only companies that didn't charge extra for "non-business hours". I left a message that was returned before I could walk across my house. Received quote on the phone and they said they could go to the property as soon as they finished the job they were on. I met them at the property at 8:00 p.m. When James took his first look at the Compressor, he already knew what was wrong. 5 minutes later we felt cold air blowing. Happy tenants mean happy landlord! James was the best - knowledgeable, experienced, friendly and professional. Would recommend Air Masters to anyone.
