I used this company in the past and they were great. This time, my air conditioner stopped working on a hot Friday night around 8 pm. I called their number and got the emergency service voice mail. It said to leave a message and I would receive a call back within 15 minutes. I never got a call back. I left 3 messages between 8 and 10:30 pm and never got a call back. Air Masters card is going in the shredder.

It took about 8 hours to do it. It’s normally about a 3 to 4 hour job. They pulled the coil out, they cleaned it and put it back in but he was just like having all kinds of problems. There is still mold in it.

Diagnostic check completed by Justin went very well. He was knowledgeable about the system and although I had two systems, he didn't charge me for the additional A/C unit since that was never explained or discussed about charging for the extra system when I signed up for the Angie's List Big Deal. He found some areas that will probably eventually need repairs, but he explained the pros and cons and provide some good advice on how to proceed. He wrote down manufacturing serial and model numbers to assist in checking on possible warranty coverage on one of the units. Based on his knowledge and honesty I will not hesitate to hire his company if I need to repair or replace the A/C units in the future.

My AC went out on Black Friday 11/28/2014. (Thanksgiving week end). I called Air masters about 6 PM. Jason came out in about a half an hour and found a break in the 220 volt line going to the air handler. It was burnt and charred at the wire nuts. He repaired the line and my AC was restored. The service was fast and complete especially during a holiday week end. I am happy with their work and highly recommend them. I have scheduled a maintenance call with them in a week. The pricing was high. I ended up calling back to the company and discovered they overcharged me by $60. A 2nd technician came out and discovered that not all the work had been done. They ended up back-flushing the system to take care of a leak from the unit that was leaking onto the garage floor.

BEWARE OF THE $69 DIAGNOSTIC FEE ADVERTISED ON ANGIES LIST Tuesday September 30, 2014 My AC was not cooling enough. Called Air Masters. To diagnois leaky evaporator coils, I was charged a total of $336.00 dollars. The technician cut off the power to my AC, left and then never called back the next day for the cost estimate for the repair. Bill states: Labor 3 hours 4-7pm $250.00 Trip Charge $59.00 Supply Fee $12.00 Mateial Fee $15.00 Total $336.00 Wednesday October 1, 2014 Never called with a repair quote. No AC. I called late the next day to say I was overcharged and that they said they would call back. They did not. Thursday October 2, 2014 Had to call twice before they would talk to me about my bill. I was told I why I was charged $250.00 additional dollars for labor. The technician claims he started at 4pm and stopped at 7pm, but I did not get homefrom work until 4:45. When I challanged the charge the office person said I was charge for only 2.5 hours of labor at $100 per hour. She said they charge for travel time in addition to their $59.00 trip charge. The technican used no material. She also finally gave me the quote to replace the coils. I told her that it is not customary to charge for a technicans traivel time. And exactly where was I paying him to travel from? She said she would check his GPS and get back to me. I am still waiting.

After numerous poor experiences with other AC firms I was pleased to find a company who just wasn't there to sell you every 'add-on' feature to the basic product you asked for or needed. Outsside of some disorganization in their office with dispatching where some reminders were needed the rest of the job from the sales manager to all the installers and follow-up were reasonable, professional and after one year were apparently of high quality. They helped me adapt an 8-yr AC/Furnace system to a newer upgrade without replacing unnecessary features that were still good I haven't used them yet for on-going maintenance since my system is very new but I'm absolutely considering it.

The technican and I went up in the attic so he could finish his check off list, The ultraviolet light that was connected the previous year was not connect and I had paid $1,400 for 2 lights. I asked why is wasn't connect because if it wasn't connected it doesn't work. He said the storm must have knocked it out. We are upstairs in an attic and it is covered with reflect foil. It is a pretty secure area and where the UV lights were located. I asked to make note of it on his work order. I called the company to ask for a refund because the light was never connected and never was in use. I also was calling to get information to maintain the unit. I called the company the following monday, The call was never returned I gave them plenty of time to give me a call. I sent them an email on August 22nd, they received it but I received no reply. I sent another email to the CEO and on Wednesday September 3rd the CEO called me about my problem. He said I would get my copies of the work order and instead of a refund offered me 2 free service call. He said he would call me back and I have not heard anything. I only want what is doue to me. I think there should be some recourse for this.

Dear Member-While I understand your request to have the UV lights removed from your air conditioning our technician while preforming the maintenance observed the transformer for the UV lights had tripped causing the lights not to be functioning. This was not a result of systems being wired incorrectly, because all he did was reset the transformer possible caused by a lighting storm. Our technicians are trained on how to install and test the system. There is no way to verify how long the transformer was tripped and not allowing the lights to power up. Air Masters installed the UV light system October 31,2013. This issue was discovered August 15,2014. We stand behind our warranty but 10 1/2 months after the installation we cannot give a refund, if this was within the first 30 days we would have no issue. Air masters has offered and additional 1 yr. warranty and include a free maintenance [value $180 ] for any inconvenience.The UV light system is beneficial for keeping your system cleaner, reducing germs, bacteria and odors. Phillip had called since he last talked with you but did not get a response. If you could leave a time when you can be reached if he is not in when you call.

The initial installation went without a hitch. However, upon receiving our electric bill it turns out that because they increased the size of the unit from 4 ton to 5 ton, our bill is consistently much worse. Their response is that the ductwork needs to be re-run. Apparently all of our returns need to be enlarged? Hard to believe that the last two or three systems ran fine with these returns over the last 30 years. I was completely blindsided by the size of the electric bill. Spent $7000 and have a cool house, but the AC runs ALL OF THE TIME. I still think there is a problem with the controls. We asked the company to send out their original rep to figure out what we would need to do on ducts rework, but she has not yet shown up. The company was also supposed to redirect the dyer vent external to the house and they have not yet performed this minimal task. It has been about 3 MONTHS. Right after they got their $7000, service noticeably declined. I'm a pretty busy person, so every couple of weeks I ask where we are with this, and the company assures me it will be taken care of. So far, nothing. Very disappointing, --------------------------------------------------------------------------- 9/11 update: Company has been very responsive as of late. The dryer vent has been installed and they have replaced the thermostat, which may have been faulty. Next week they are coming out to assess the duct work on the house. I'm still unsure as to why the electric bills are high, but the company is working with me to resolve. I have moved my overall rating from an original D to a C. Could go higher in the future depending on ultimate resolution. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- 10/20 Update: Very concerned about my system. It seems it has been over-sized by this company, a supposed expert in the field. My old unit was 4 ton , which matched the size of the original duct work in the house. Since they replaced with a 5 ton, now I'm am being told in order to support the airflow of this increased tonnage, that I need to spend ANOTHER $5500 to resolve the "ductwork" problem. In addition, I was on vacation for a week, and the system stopped working (again). The increased tonnage apparently causes a lot of sweating of the inside evaporator. Well, they came in to fix it... and fix it they did. The drain pan is in the attic. Guess what? A couple of days later the system backed up and started overflowing onto my ceiling causing water damage. At least I think that is what happened. I called last Tuesday, they don't care enough to call me back. Soddy, soddy. I'm on the verge of seeking legal advice.

On 08/25 one of my rental properties had a small power outage. After the power outage my tenant noticed that the a/c wasn't blowing cold air. I called this company earlier today, they suggested checking the breaker first to avoid cost of a technician coming out. That I appreciated, however it didn't fix the issue. Called the company back and was informed that a technician would be out today between 4 - 6 PM EST. The technician never called and also never showed up at the property. I called their office around 6:20 PM EST and left a voice mail however never heard anything back. I saw a previous review stating they had done this before and was worried but figured one review doesn't show any a pattern. Also, since I was in a tight spot to get someone out today and my other company I use was booked up I decided to go with this one.

The experience has been abysmal. I do not think AirMasters is qualified to install the premium carrier equipment. I have been calling them weekly for 2 months now trying to get them to complete the job. The system as installed has high static pressure problems. This was a turnkey job that was sized and estimated by Air Masters. They however, did not do a design as promised and the over-sizing of the carrier infinity systems unfortunately, has caused some serious problems. They are now avoiding my calls and are unresponsive to remedying this situation. 50,000 is a lot of money to spend for a "hacked" install. They have sent out the service team to attempt to resolve the issues, however, clear that the sales team, installation team and service team do not communicate. Through this install, I have had to point out issues and chase them continuously. They are unresponsive to emails and telephone calls are never returned (approx 25-30). Midway through the project, they changed the layout of the HVAC zones and units and compromised the design and objectives of the project (energy efficiency, zoning etc.). The systems alarm and shut down zones on a daily basis and my family are now waking up congested every morning (mold ?). Am not even sure what their warranty is worth given their (lack of) responsiveness in resolving customer issues and am very sorry I picked them to do my home remodel. I would never recommend this shambolic outfit to anyone and would seriously warn anyone against using them for anything other than minor maintenance. UPDATE : AirMasters has resolved the installation issues by redoing the install/duct-work. Paige Simpson from Simpson Air helped by escalating within Carrier and getting them to intervene in this dispute. To AirMasters credit, they have been in business for 20+ years and remedied the issues at their cost. I think my experience was more due to the complexity of the install (12 zones across 3 units, remodel/retrofit) and the fact that the carrier infinity system (state of the art intelligent) has built in diagnostics and will not let an installer get away with any issues with static pressure etc.

Made appointment #1, day came and went and no one shows. Someone calls the next Monday and says sorry she was out that week and yet somehow I wasn't on the dispatch list. I was friendly and let it go and we rescheduled for next day from 10-12. By 12:30 I called pretty upset but let them explain. She seemed to try and care but not enough as she repeatedly asked my name. Finally got an answer that they ran late. Why not call me? Zero respect. Third times the charm. They showed up with about a minute to spare at 6 on a Friday night. Did their thing and now a week later I'm sitting in the sweltering heat with the AC not working. Called their "emergency line" and as for the promise of a call back within 15 min, nothing! STAY AWAY! UPDATE: Raised score due to problems being addressed. The 1st tech failed to clear the drain lines so they sent out someone again a week later after water leaked everywhere. That guy was stellar and very helpful, detailed and friendly. I am raising the rating from an F just based on him. Shows how just one employee can make a difference.

They came out on time and did a good job on the service. However, they were not able to get the type of filters that I needed, so they informed me that I needed to go to certain stores to find them. I was unable to do so, so I reached out to them to cancel the contract because I found another provider that would be able to get the filters for me and deliver them to my home. I have reached out to them several times and each time they say that they will return my call with an answer about cancelling the contract, but they have to yet to do so.
Description of Work: They came to service my AC unit on the first of July. I then started a contract with them to service the unit twice a year for an entire year, at $15 a month (a maintenance contract).

Our A/C quit working suddenly at midnight with the night-time temp in the 80's and temp inside soon in the mid 90's. Though they advertised 24 hour service and an operator took down my message around midnight, no one called me back that night. I called again as soon as they opened in the morning, and they said they were not aware it was an emergency so usually do call back in the am. Also that they had 28 calls during the night! Despite being so busy with this super hot weather, they scheduled and sent out a tech in about 2 hours! Stuart (Stewart?) was great, very friendly and efficient. He told me right away what he thought it was, went to the unit and immediately confirmed his idea. He even had a replacement part with him and had the work done right away! He did recommend their yearly maintenance plan, but there was no hard sell at all when I declined. When I told him I have been unemployed for over 6 months, he charged me the minimum possible and accepted the coupon I printed from Angie's. He was in and out in less than 30 minutes. I would certainly use this company again and highly recommend them to anyone.
