Having never bought stone countertops before, we shopped it extensively, but never were comfortable with available vendors. We stumbled in to AGS in early Nov. and couldn't believe the vast collection of available stone they had to pick from. It wasn't hard to find the stone we both could agree on. We selected a quartz pattern. We forgot all about all the other vendors we saw and settled in with AGS. They quoted us a price for the stone we just had to have. Without blinking an eye we went ahead with them at the quoted prices. We found out later that we were treated fairly on the price, which became secondary after we settled in on the pattern. AGS was professional and will do anything to make you a believer in their excellent customer service policy. The whole buying and installation process unfolded and was carried out as presented in the beginning. They bent over backwards to get them installed before Txgiving . Our cut was complicated with notches, farm sink, etc. and they tried to give it to us without any seams. Installation day came and the stone came and it was cut correctly but couldn't quite fit around one of the cut out notches. We thought---oh no trouble ahead!!! But, they took the stone to my driveway, set up shop and made the cut, bought it back in and installed it. The seam, which was only 12 inches long, was expertly matched and virtually impossible to see. If you want fair pricing, honesty, and professionalism, and most importantly --quick delivery and installation, I'd recommend to you to put them on your prospect list to see. Claude and June Council.

It was a seamless process dealing with this company. We already knew which stone we wanted and their price was the lowest in the area. Once we ordered the stone, the installer came out to our house to do the template. He was very professional and friendly. I also appreciated that he voiced his concerns about a wall that wasn't straight and the potential problems that it could cause in the final look once installed. He went over various options on how to get the best looking end result. After the mock-up, he walked me through each area and had me sign off on the template. This part was really beneficial because we were able to add edge finishes that we didn't think about beforehand. Today was our install day, with a window time from 11am - 1pm. They showed up no later than 11:15am and had the counters, sink and faucet mounted in about an hour, if even that. Everything looked perfect and the bowed wall that was an initial concern isn't even noticeable a bit. These guys are great. I would highly recommend and will definitely be using again when we remodel our kitchen.

Installers were always professional and on time. We had 2 installations...once for countertops and once for island when we had the island completed. On both occasions, they did excellent work. Flawless seams and beautiful work. Jackie at the store was beyond unbelievable to work with. She has such a great sense of style and found me the PERFECT granite for my kitchen.

The company was very prompt in arriving during the scheduled time frame for both the template layout and the installation. The employees were professional in both attitude and appearance. Their work was completed in a timely manner. There was an issue with a piece of granite for our island that was the wrong size. The installer right away questioned if the granite had been cut short for a reason, when we told him no he immediately called the fabricator and informed them of the error. They left the piece of granite in place so that we would not have a bare island and told us that they would cut another piece for replacement. We figured it would be a couple of days before they could get it back out to us; surprisingly, several hours later they returned with the correct piece of granite and installed it. Needless to say . . . we were very pleased that this issue was handled so promptly and courteously. Another example of their professional customer service and attention to detail came when our counter tops were being templated, the gentleman making the template inquired if we would like to have our marble window sill above the kitchen sink replaced with a piece of the granite. We had never even considered that and we eagerly agreed to his suggestion. It looks great, as does the rest of our new kitchen. We would definitely use this company again and we highly recommend them.

AGS Stone, also known as Praxis Services, also known as Tampa Bay Kitchen & Bath We dealt directly with owners: Jacqueline Rogers, VP for sales, Gary Rogers President, when problems arose. The company was recommended to us by one of the wholesalers of granite slabs. When visiting their premises, we saw a pattern that appealed to us, the price was about what we expected to pay, and we agreed to purchase. The granite has a strong linear pattern, and we were invited to come and discuss layout with the person cutting -- a nice young man who assured us that the pattern would meld properly from base to back splash, throughout the kitchen. The installers arrived promptly at the appointed time, worked for approximately two hours removing the old counters and installing the new. The writer was in the hospital at the time, was not able to observe, or some of the problems listed below might not have occurred. 1. The installer removed the old sink and took it with them for disposal -- and along with it taking the metal drain, drain cap, and garbage disposal collar and top insert, all of which, had they been knowledgeable, should have been left behind for installation in the new sink. When the plumber came to connect the new sink the next day and found these items missing, he went out the following morning and purchased them resulting in an additional charge of $160.00. We notified AGS -- they found the items in their dumpster, and reimbursed us in full for the plumbers additional charge. The installers left the kitchen in a clean condition, but did not clean out rubbish from cabinets underneath the installation. We are still finding peace's of the old counters 2. The day following installation, two large elongated stains were noticed on the main counter next to the sink, and a circular stain on the island where my wife had put down a dish taken out of the freezer. We notified AGS, the sent a technician who treated the stains, and then thoroughly sealed the entire counter tops. In a few days the stains were gone. Since that sealing, no other stains have appeared. 3. A drawer got stuck when a knife handle got caught on the edge, and the wood above -- directly under the counter -- came loose. AFK sent a technician who took care of the problem. As noted above, the company responded quickly and efficiently to the minor problems that occurred. There is one major problem that they chose not to address. The pattern chosen by us has long streaks running throughout. On the north side of the kitchen and the center island the pattern runs in one direction, on the three small counters on the south side of the kitchen the pattern is totally reversed. Also, some of the back splashes do not meld properly with the pattern although we had been assured they would. We called this to the AGS owners attention on the day after the installation by phone, we pointed it out to the technician who did the sealing and requested he report it, and when hearing nothing eventually sent an E mail with a sketch pointing out the problem. Neither of the owners came to examine for themselves. Mr. Rogers called on the phone after receiving the E-mail, and told me that in order to make the pattern uniform they would have had "to cut into another slab", which they were unwilling to do. Since the employee doing the cutting told us that he would be using two slabs (Total job 84 sq. ft -- a slab approximately 55 sq. ft) -- and since Mrs. Rodgers told us that they had done many kitchens using this material, I now assume instead of the second slab they used granite remainders from other jobs. Bottom line, we are stuck with a very unprofessional and not very good looking looking job. Therefore, I cannot recommend this company if you want quality workmanship.

Response from AGS Stone
I would like to thank the customer for his candid comments. We make every effort to address all concerns that our customer's raise both during and after countertop installation. The plumbing part referred to is normally replaced by the plumber during the installation of a new sink. Our staff should have consulted the customer before disposing of the old part. The customer contacted us regarding the expense incurred including parts and labor. We mailed a check promptly for the total amount requested. Natural stone has varying degrees of porosity depending upon color. The customer had complained about a visible stain that occurred after leaving something on the countertop for a period of time. We removed the stain and re-sealed the granite to enhance stain resistance. The sticking drawer was unrelated to the countertop installation. It appeared that something had been wedged in the drawer and an attempt had made to force the drawer open resulting in damage to the drawer. The drawer was repaired at no charge to the customer. Templates are created for each countertop section we fabricate. We invite our customers to our facility to meet with our stone cutter prior to fabrication. During the meeting the customer is asked to review various layout options by positioning templates on the selected material. The customer had met with us to review their countertop layout options and had approved of the layout chosen. While we try to meet customer expectations in each and every case, there are times when nothing more can be done to address a customer concern. Countertop pattern placement was consistent with what the customer had approved. In addition, we conduct a detailed inspection with the customer upon completion of the installation. Signed customer approval was received and final payment made prior to project completion and close-out.

Granite was our last step in our kitchen remodeling project. We found our granite at Ultimate Granite and they referred us to AGS stone. Every step was easy and all the staff was professional. We will come back for AGS to complete bathroom project. Special thanks to Penny, Roland, Fabio and Gabriel our kitchen looks amazing. Also thanks to Dylan and partner at Ultimate for referring us to AGS.

I found AGS Stone (also known as Praxis Services, Inc) on Angie's List. I was doing some remodeling and had found some granite that I liked and was looking for a fabricating business to work with on the project. I liked the reviews that I read on Angie's List and especially liked that they invited the customer to be part of the templating layout. I had no previous experience with granite installation. From the moment that I walked in the door and met Gary and Jackie Rogers for the first time, through the moment that the installers pulled out of my driveway, my experiences with this company were all excellent. Gary and Jackie helped me refine and develop my vision and advised me every step of the way. Once Gary knew the type of granite that I was interested in (one with a lot of movement and many color changes) he immediately identified Fabio Dias as the fabricator that he wanted me to work with on this job. Fabio's ability to "see" the best ways to layout my four slabs through all of the various parts of this project was awesome and resulted in artistic layouts that flow beautifully. Fabio even made a trip to the house to see the fireplace area that I wanted to do to judge the feasibility of the project. His knowledge and love of granite came through clearly. Everyone who has seen the finished projects comments on his design skill. Roland Gutierrez, headed up the installation crew. He came out first to measure and to make templates. His suggestions were really on target and he took great care to be sure that I understood exactly how each piece would be installed. Later, after I had a wonderful trip back to the shop to meet with Fabio and layout the templates on the actual slabs, Roland returned with the cut pieces. The actual installation was done by Roland, Gabriel Perez, Jose Gutierrez and John Doyle. They worked in a well coordinated, professional fashion to put all of the various stones together. They arrived on time, were friendly and always careful to keep me informed. Some of the installation was challenging, especially the fireplace area and it was fascinating to watch how it came together. They did a great job. Gary Rogers was always gracious about my many add-ons as this project unfolded. I am very happy with the results and with every aspect of my experience working with this company. I would highly recommend them to anyone in the Tampa area that is considering a project with stone. It is a little embarrassing how long it took me to write this review. I have been so engaged with putting the house back together and then enjoying the finished results that sitting down to write a review kept slipping to the back burner. It should not reflect on the job done as that was superior! If I could think of anywhere else to put more granite in my home, I would not hesitate to call AGS Stone/Praxis Services, Inc again.

I will start this review admitting that I am a perfectionist and tend to be extremely detail oriented and sometimes critical. Overall, I had a great experience with AGS Stone/Tampa Bay Kitchen and Baths. The project was not without hiccups, but as with any major renovation, you expect bumps along the way. One of the main differences between a good contractor and bad one is how they handle mistakes. And I can say with complete faith that AGS has its customers best interests at heart and goes the extra mile to make for a happy customer. 1) Sales/Estimate: I worked with Bill Faherty and he was fantastic from the get go. Communication, puctuality and responsiveness is important to me and Bill was excellent in this regard. He worked with me to find appropriate solutions for my kitchen and answered my many (endless) questions. I also worked with Laura in the front office and she was great at helping with selections. She was so knowledgeable and friendly and a pleasure to work with. 2) Project Management: I worked with Rick Holley and he was great too. Responsive to calls, punctual and worked with me to meet my expectations. And when items were not to my satisfaction, he resolved them quickly. ** Communication between Sales and Project Management was probably the biggest issue I faced. I had some hiccups along the way and all could have been avoided if Bill and Rick sat down with me together to go over layouts and scope of work. Had we had one meeting all together, every single issue that arose one my project could have been avoided. I would whole-heartedly recommend hiring AGS and would recommend that you request a meeting with Sales and Project Mgmt to make sure you are all on the same page regarding scope, timeline, etc. Again, I want to reiterate, that all the problems we faced were fixed to my satisfaction and I always felt as though AGS had an attitude of "the customer is always right". 3) Install Team: Josh and Todd were the primary installers for my project and I have nothing but rave reviews on them both. Ultimate professionals, high quality work and great customer service. I have young children and having Josh and Todd working on my home was a sincere pleasure. My kids were delighted to see their trucks pull into the driveway every morning and by the end of the project, they felt like family! It's not every day you have people working on your home that really care about the project and the customer and this team did. Rolland handled my counter template and installation and he was great as well. 4) Owners: As I mentioned, we had a few minor hiccups and one resulted in my ending up in the AGS offices to take a look at some materials. I was very impressed when Jackie, one of the owners, approached me to introduce herself and apologize for the problem I had encountered. She assured me that everything would be handled and corrected and to let her know personally if I had any further issues. It was nice to see that the whole team was working on the issue together and that the owner has direct contact with customers. If you're looking for high value, great quality construction and looking to work with good and honest people who will make sure you are happy at the completion of your project, this is your team. I'm happy to speak directly with anyone who wants a personal reference and has questions. I look forward to hiring the team again when I remodel my bathrooms in the future.

They are also known as Praxis Services Inc. Jackie was helpful in selecting the perfect granite and explaining the scope in timeline. The installers Roland and John were polite and professional. However, one of the electrical outlets was cut too small and it took the electrician an extra hour to grind out a space for the screw attachment. There was a lot of caulk and adhesives that needed to be scraped off, and finally the peninsula granite is not as shiny as the other pieces, and I have found several rough spots throughout. I asked them to come out and repolish it, but they waxed it and it's still not wonderful. My husband is home for the summer and I don't want to upset him with this situation, so, I am waiting until he goes back to work to see if they can come out and make it right. Updated 09/04/14: The peninsula granite was just replaced with a perfectly shiny piece. I am very happy that it now matches the rest of the granite. Many thanks to Gary for making this right.

[member name removed] was unhappy with the surface finish on a section of her countertop that had been installed by us earlier this year. We made a follow up visit to her home and applied a surface finish treatment to eliminate the dull spot. [member name removed] stated that she was satisfied with the result after our work had been completed. Over time [member name removed] has noticed that the dull spot has reappeared. [member name removed] recently contacted us to let us know that she was still not satisfied with lack of shine in the same area of countertop. We have proposed replacing this section and are currently working with [member name removed] to select, fabricate and install a replacement piece. Gary Rogers Business Owner

There are MANY companies doing kitchen remodeling in the Tampa area. AGS Stone (Praxis) had excellent reviews on Angies List as did two other companies we were considering. We selected AGS Stone after meeting Bill, the designer. He provided good information and drew up plans for our angular shaped kitchen that utilized the available space in an attractive and efficient manner. All the AGS installers who came to our home were skilled and friendly. Josh, the cabinet installer did a beautiful job and made sure all the drawers and doors were working ?just right? and they look beautiful! When it was time for us to select stone for the counter tops, we decided on granite. Jackie and Penny walked us through the granite options, pointing out the colors and movement which would best compliment our cabinets and still fit our budget. We were not easy to please. We changed our choice of granite several times but were never made to feel that we were inconveniencing them. When we settled on the color, we met with Fabio who showed us how the granite would be cut from templates of our kitchen. We were able to request what sections of stone we wanted to be used for each template. Two days later, our beautiful counters were carefully installed. We are more than happy with our choice of AGS Stone for our kitchen remodeling project and would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a kitchen contractor. A fair price for an excellent product and personalized service. Thank you Angies List!!!

Roland & Josh were very efficient & professional during the installation process. Everyone arrived on time during the project. Jackie was very helpful in selecting the perfect granite and explaining the job's scope & timeline. The installers, Roland & John, were very polite & professional. However, one of the electrical outlet openings was cut too small & it took the electrician an extra hour to grind out a space for the screw attachment. There was a lot of caulk/adhesive that needed to be scraped off. Finally, the peninsula granite is not as shiny as the other pieces and I have found several rough spots throughout. There is another bad cut over the stove.

The installers arrived early and acting professionally. They seemed to be experienced and worked extra hard to get a corner angle just right. The counters were measured and laid out before hand. Everyone there is very friendly and accommodating. The price was high, but at market value.

i normally dont write reviews but i felt compelled to let others know about the outstanding service i received from ags stone. i chose ags after 6 estimates from different contractors ranging from $8k to $14k for a complete bathroom remodel, after talking with Bill my instincts told me this is the company i needed to hire. their price was a few hundred dollars more than the lowest bid but what Bill presented was exactly what i wanted done and at a decent price and i believed he would stick to the price quoted. the only work i had to do was pick colors, supply a light fixture and a mirror, ags did all the rest which was a big sale for me. i requested a start date of Mar 10th and they were there on that date to start demolition, afterwards everything went pretty smoothly. All the contractors (demolition crew, tile guy, and plumber, etc.) were friendly, thorough and clean when perfomring the work. Another plus was there were no hidden costs that i was presented with, AGS stuck to the exact price of the quote :) Unfortunately towards the end the foreman Rick who really knew his stuff was hospitalized and there was a slight delay but Bill jumped right in to help finish the remodel and make any changes my wife felt needed to be done. To sum it up my 12 year old daughter saw the finished product and said" Wow Dad! This bathroom is epic!! When are you gonna remodel my bath? I will definitely be calling AGS when I'm ready to remodel the other bath and the kitchen, I have already referred my friends who are looking to remodel to this company.

Exceptionally stress free and turnkey. They helped me find my granite, laid it out so I got the most out of my sparkles. Their price is right, and their customer service is FANTASTIC. They are all about remembering their clients and taking the stress off of you. Their delivery guys are super fast, efficient and CLEAN. Really the best $3K I've spent in a long time.
