The staff at AGS were very patient with me as I asked many questions and took weeks to pick out the granite I finally decided on. They were very professional and the measuring, layout appointment and installation were all completed on time. It was a pleasure to work with all the staff there and I would definitely recommend using this company to anyone updating their kitchen.

Met with AGS stone to discuss project and selected the stone slabs to be used for countertops. They came out to my home and made templates for the countertops and then provided me with an installation date and time. Crew arrived on time, removed my old countertops and installed the new countertops. All the work was professionally done and completed in one afternoon and was very happy with way it all turned out.

AGS did a wonderful job. It included all new tile in the shower, floor and around the garden tub. We also added new Granite vanity tops as well as a new toilet. Their work quality was excellent and Albert took his time to make sure everything was right. As with all large projects, there were a few glitches, but AGS made sure we were happy with the way everything looked. I would highly recommend them for any remodeling that needed to be done.

On June 12, 2015 AGS Stone came out to template my kitchen for a new quartz countertop. It seemed to be going well, but when the pieces were installed on June 18th, things went downhill. 1) We have rounded wall corners. Either the person who did the template designed the counters with right-angle cuts or the person who cut our quartz did not follow the template properly. The quartz was cut with a right angle where it was to fit in a rounded corner. I did not realize this when the installation was complete because it took time to completely dry and show up. The first time AGS came out to address the problem, they filled in the gap with a clear caulk like substance. After it dried, it shrunk down into the gap. The second time they came out, they filled it in with something else that almost looks good. But? it is not perfect, and it should have been cut correctly to begin with 2) The kitchen sink is located in the middle of a large island. Because of its size, the island had to be made up of two pieces. The seam in front of the sink (about 3 inches) looks awesome as the worker tinted the epoxy-like substance well. The seam behind the sink which is substantial in size was filled in with a different color than the front. It was way to visible, and it also was raised and rough, not smooth like the front seam. Again, we could not have known this until it had time to dry, after I signed off on the job and the workers left. When AGS came out to address the issue with the rounded wall, they looked at the color and texture difference between the two seams and agreed to correct the color. Even though we signed off that the work was completed, you just don?t know what it will look like until it has completely dried and cured. Again the color was not right, and the texture was rough. I had AGS come out again, after speaking with Gary, who told me it could have been some super glue that got stuck to the quartz after they worked on it last time. Yes, super glue. My husband was home to watch the work, and they used something to attempt clean up the roughness. Although he signed off on the work, neither my husband nor I noticed the ensuing problem until the workers left. Now we have a 4x16 +/- inch section of quartz that has a different sheen/finish ? two inches on either side of the seam they worked on. The happened when they tried to buff out the rough seam edges with a chemical. It is still a problem to this day. I made an appointment again for a technician to come out October 19th, as Gary was having issue with our "constant" requests to come out even though we "signed off on the work". He told me his technicians had a busy schedule so I agreed to have the warranty service call pushed out by approx two months. On October 19th an AGS technician came to my home to address the ruined finish on my counter. He told me he could try to buff it out using the machine they use to buff corners and edges but could not guarantee it would work and may make it worse. He told me if it was made worse, AGS would have to replace the entire island counter. After I told him I wanted that offer in writing, he called Gary, the owner who refused to allow him to do any more work. Gary told me there was nothing more they could do for me, that I was basically stuck with my counter the way it was, and that we signed off on the work each time they were out, so why was I still complaining. I told him, again, that these issues were not at first visible until the counters dried and cured. He refuses to honor any warranty for the poor workmanship by his own people. So here I am, having paid thousands of dollars for a countertop that has never been cut or installed correctly. I can see his point, that if they try anything else it may make it worse, but at the same time they should have done the fabrication and installation correctly to begin with and stand behind their warranty when it was not ? by replacing the counter and redoing it. He would not budge. I will need to have the repair/replacement done at my own expense, and obviously not by AGS Stone. I would definitely NOT recommend AGS for anything. They don?t stand behind their work ? instead they blame the customer!

We have made every effort possible to address [Member Name Removed]'s concerns. Ultimately, we were not able to meet her expectations. Our process involves customer interaction and approval at each step. The templating process is completed in the customer's home. It involves discussion with the customer regarding counter top layout including shape, overhang, edge details and seam placement. Physical templates are created based on customer input. A work order is also completed, which includes additional design details. Our customers are asked to examine the templates and review work order details before concluding our visit. Our customers are asked to sign the templates and work order confirming their acceptance of the layout and option selections. Theses steps were followed in this case. At the conclusion of every installation we ask our customers to closely examine our work while our installers are still present and before we ask for final payment. This inspection regime was followed at the conclusion of this installation. To assist our customers with their inspection, we have an installation checklist. The checklist includes specific aspects of the installation that we would like our customers to inspect closely. Areas of concern are addressed by our installers and the our customer is asked to reinspect and approve the installation. Signatures on our inspection checklist and invoice are required before the installers leave the premises. These steps were taken and written customer approval was obtained. Following the installation, [Member Name Removed] contacted us regarding a gap between a wall and counter top. Caulk that was used to fill the gap had shrunk leaving a small void. A warranty visit was made shortly after the request was received. The installers addressed the gap and also were asked to evaluate a rough seam area behind the sink. Seams are often required on a project for a number of reasons including slab size restrictions as well as counter top section size and placement considerations. Two counter top sections are joined together forming a seam. The counter top itself is secured to the cabinetry using a silicone adhesive. Seam edges are glued together using a strong clear adhesive similar to super glue. Once the pieces are joined, the installer mixes an epoxy and fills the seam joint. This process also involves adding color to the epoxy in an effort to match seam joint color with the surrounding counter top surface. The customer stated that the area around the seam was rough to the touch. Our installers worked to eliminate any rough areas in the seam joint. The customer inspected and approved the corrective actions taken. [Member Name Removed] contacted our office again after the first warranty visit and stated that she was still not happy with the seam area previously addressed. We scheduled a follow up warranty visit to address the seam area once again. The installers reworked the seam area adjusting the seam color and ensuring that any rough areas in the seam were addressed. Customer inspection and approval was received and the warranty visit was concluded. I personally spoke with [Member Name Removed]when she contacted our office again with a request to address the same warranty issue. I asked our installation manager to meet with [Member Name Removed] in an attempt to resolve the matter. After inspecting the seam, it was determined that nothing more could be done with the seam without risking irreparable damage to the counter top. It was after the third visit that I advised [Member Name Removed] that we had done everything possible to address her concerns and that we had met the terms of our warranty policy. At that time, [Member Name Removed] suggested that I offer to sell her some wall tile at our cost as a gesture of good will. I agreed to do so and forwarded tile information including the list price and our cost for the tile. I did not hear back from [Member Name Removed] until 11/13/2015 - weeks later and just before this review was submitted. [Member Name Removed] claimed that I was not offering to sell her the tile and cost and stated that she was not interested in pursuing this matter further. Speaking for our entire staff, we are sorry that we were not able to meet the[Member Name Removed]'s expectations. As the owner I take each negative review seriously. Our team will assess the issues raised and will make every effort to avoid a similar situation arising in the future.

My wife and I stopped by AGS Stone on Oct. 9, 2015. Kathy met with us and assisted in picking out a granite slab that we liked and within our budget. She was very helpful and there was absolutely no pressure to buy. She answered all our questions and suggested other places we could go to find a slab if we were not 100 % satisfied with the selection they had in stock. We decided to purchase a grade 1 slab that was within our budget and they had in stock. At the same time we also purchased a 50/50 under mount stainless steel sink and a beautiful Delta Cassidy kitchen faucet. Kathy explained what would happen from the point of purchase through the final install and an estimated completion date. We were given paperwork about proper care of the stainless steel sink and protecting our natural stone investment. I provided a rough guestimate of the square footage we would need and a sales order was written up based on that number, subject to change based on actual measurements done by AGS Stone. AGS Stone came out and made a template of my kitchen counters. The next step would have been for us to go in and approve the way the stone was cut and where the different patterns of the stone would be positioned on the counters. We voluntarily skipped this step because the granite we picked had a uniform pattern. However, I would highly recommend to anyone that purchases a granite with varying grains and patterns to do this step. I was contacted by AGS Stone, after the template was done, that I needed 47 Square feet instead of the estimated 45 and I needed to okay the change, which I did. AGS Stone sells granite by the square feet and charges you on what your job requires, you do not have to purchase whole slabs. The install date was confirmed and went very smoothly. The workers installed the kitchen counters and the under mount sink in less than half a day. The sink needed to sit for 24 hours before using and since the install was done on a Friday afternoon we couldn't use the kitchen sink until the plumber arrived on Monday. The whole experience was completed within 3 weeks and so far we are very pleased with AGS Stone and absolutely love our new granite counter tops and new sink.
Description of Work: AGS Stone sold and installed granite kitchen counter tops in my home. This included the tear out, haul away of the old counter tops and cleaning up.
My first 2 visits to AGS I met with Penny who is the one that sold me on this company. She has since left. Picking out the granite and sink went well.Their price was fair/reasonable. They were on time for all appointments. Now that the job is finished, these are the issues as I see them. 1. The guys that came out to do the template, placed foam sheets on the countertops. I was asked to sign off on all edges and trusting these guys, I did. The granite was installed as scheduled. I was in the room for most of the install. This was not my first go-round with having granite installed. 2. The granite was not cut/fabricated so that the stove would fit in the opening, or it was measured incorrectly. Therefore, to get the half inch needed, they slid the granite to the left. That means that the granite over hangs past the wall a half inch. Where there is an angle the granite doesn't fit there, but they assured me that the backsplash would cover it. I was not happy with the overhang but they finished off the end to make it smooth and I made the mistake of saying it was ok. Since I had the stove installed, another issue of the piece of granite along the back is too wide not allowing the stove to slide in properly. Problem 3 - the granite was chipped - a 3/4 in wide and 1/2 in high chip in the front by the sink. They assured me that this happens all the time, although I find it difficult to believe that the granite was shipped out from AGS with a 3/4 in chip that would be on the seam in front of the sink. They filled it with black epoxy which I would not accept. The one guy scraped the epoxy with a file and filled in the spot with a gray color so that your eye is not drawn to that area. The other guy was frustrated with me and went out for a cigarette. I accepted the epoxy patch rather than have a new piece of granite cut. I checked all of the work, and signed the papers. After they left I saw a mark on my new stove. It was new, it had been there a few days. The stainless was scratched, and a mark where something dropped on the stainless does not come off. I called AGS and spoke with Alex. He assured me they would do a complete investigation. He called me a few days later and told me that he trusted these guys and their professionalism and they said they didn't do it and that I was in the room to see most of the install. I was in the room for most of the install, and I saw the tools placed on my unprotected brand new stove. I got a pad and put it on top. Many tools including the caulking gun were placed on top of that stove. I was insulted that that Alex just said he believed his guys. I insisted that they send someone out to see the stove. Of course, when he showed up he said there is no way they could have done it. I get that it is a he said/she said thing. I get that the stove was new and they believe it was a manufacture issue. It's not. I just think the not fitting, overhang, chip, and then the scratch were more than I could accept to give them a higher rating. They also used a hammer to knock out the drywall to get the granite in. Because of the stove and the way I was treated (their guys say they didn't do it, so they didn't), I would not recommend them to anyone. There was smoking outside my house and in my garage. There were plastic butts from a cigar type cigarette left in the driveway. The garage was not cleaned up. The one guy was on the phone almost the whole time he was there. It wasn't until I mentioned that I was a member of Angie's list that I got a call from Gary, the owner, who asked what I wanted because they wanted to "work this out although they would not commit to any financial reimbursement". On his previous conversations with me, he backed his workers and his son Alex's decision to do nothing. When I said I wanted the stove fixed, he told me to rub toothpaste on it, that would take out scratches, and he gave me the name of a gentleman that removes scratches from stainless steel. I called the man and he said he couldn't help me due to a number of things including the placement of the controls etc. I ended up calling GE to get information about replacement parts only to find out that GE said they would replace the piece under warranty. So there was no expense to Gary and AGS. All they had to do was treat me with respect and consider that the customer may be right, but they believe their installers over the customer. We were going to use them for our backsplash, cabinet hardware, and our bathrooms. Too many other granite/tile places around to use these guys. Oh - by the way - I was sent 5 different invoices and not one was correct. I finally refused to accept another and paid the last one as it was sent to me. I never asked them for $. I only wanted my kitchen done right. I still have granite that extends beyond the wall a half inch, a stove that will not completely slide in, and large epoxy chip in front. You decided if you want to use them. btw - Customers should not be signing off on template measurements. The company should know how to measure countertops and cut granite.

As a member reading this review, I ask that you read other reviews before formulating an opinion about our company and the services we provide. We have a team of committed employees who make a sincere effort to treat our customers and their home with great care and respect. On occasion, we take a position on an issue that involves the work completed or a claim of damage to customer property. As the owner, I often get directly involved in resolving customer issues as I did in this case. [member name removed] contacted our office several days after the completing of the project stating that we had damaged her stove. I advised her that I would discuss the issue with our installers and would get back to her. We encourage our installers to notify us if any damage occurs during the installation process. We do not penalize them for their honesty. If we make a mistake we correct it with no questions asked. In this particular case, [member name removed] was in the room overseeing all aspects of the counter top installation as noted in her narrative. At the end of the installation she was asked to fully inspect our work and complete an inspection checklist. The only issue raised was the chip in the counter top. The placement of a tool on the stove was brought to the installers attention by the customer and protective measures were taken at that time. The customer would certainly have identified the scratch when the issue was raised. The actual scratch or brush mark was located on another area of the stove. The damage was not consistent with a scratch or mark that would be made by a tool. I advised [member name removed] of our position and agreed to send a member of our staff out to evaluate the mark physically before making a final determination. It was clear from our physical inspection that the mark was not caused by our installers. I advised [member name removed] of our position and spent some time discussing possible remedies that she may wish to pursue. During our inspection and subsequent warranty visit there was no mention of any other problems that have been highlighted in the narrative above except for the chip in the counter top. We explained to [member name removed] during the installation process that granite is a natural material, which often has voids and fissures that are corrected during the fabrication process. Some chips or voids might be missed during fabrication and if so, are addressed during installation and final inspection. The chip or void is filled with a colored epoxy to match the remaining material. This is common practice when dealing with natural stone. As the owner, I am committed to providing the highest level of service possible to our customers. Our staff has the same level of commitment. I believe that the large number of positive reviews you will find on Angie's List is a testament to our efforts.

Jackie was very informative and from our first visit to AGS we felt comfortable dealing with the company. We visited two of the five stone yards that AGS deals with and were very happy with the variety of stones that we had to choose from. We selected White Fusion Granite and love our new counters and under mounted sink. Fabio was very patient with us as we had him arrange the templates in various ways to get the configuration that we liked the best. The installation crew was punctual and did a nice job installing the stone. We would recommend AGS stone to anyone looking for new stone counter tops.

The experience was great from the time we walked into the showroom we were not rushed and was able to take our time looking at the granite slabs, then was given all the options and choices to make our kitchen the way that we wanted. Then from them taking measurments to the installation of my countertops were very professional, I am so happy with my purchase and I can't wait to do my 2 bathrooms which I will be getting my granite from them. I would recommend them to my family and friends. This is someone that is very happy.

.Prior to settling on AGS we had visited many other companies. It was the people at the company that made us choose them. Our AGS journey was long - almost a year. The majority of the delay was due to a family situation. This was compounded by our initial cabinet choice being discontinued; then our second choice being discontinued; our third choice wasn't available in the finish we wanted - finally the forth choice worked. The company did not charge us for the upgraded cabinets we finally ended up getting. The designer / sales rep was Bill and he did a good job in translating our wishes into a finished project. The project manager was Shane Kennedy and he did a marvelous job with the work. The quality of the work is excellent. All of the company employees (Roland with Granite; Martin and Bob with finishing toches; Shane with floor tile and back splash) were easy to work with; professional; knowledgeable; accommodating; and went the extra mile to make sure we got what we wanted. AGS uses a number of sub-contractors and they all did a good job - the flooring guy was excellent. Overall the communication with the company was decent - but with room for improvement. The pace of work at times was aggravating - trying to schedule sub-contractors; working so many jobs at once; and weather issues lead to many days of inactivity. Start to finish took 3 months. They did their best to get us a functioning kitchen - at about the 6 to 8 week mark. We plan to use them again in a few months to redo the upstairs bathrooms - what better recommendation can I make.

From the beginning, Jackie was very professional in helping us select a stone within our budget that would fit our needs. The man that did the measuring at our home was prompt & very detailed. The stone cutter/finisher was very thorough in determining the best arrangement of the stone for our kitchen. Delivery and installation of our counters and removal of our old countertops was prompt and efficient. Our only complaint is that we did call for information a couple of times and our calls were not returned promptly. We had to make 2nd phone calls to set up appointments with a plumber to connect the faucet, etc.

We got a tour and some helpful information regarding the fabrication and installation process. We had some minor issues after installation that were dealt with immediately. The countertops look beautiful and we couldn't be happier.

My experience with AGS was top notch from my first visit to the showroom until installation. I worked with Duayne on selecting a stone. I originally wanted quartz and found a piece that was amazing! It was $78 a sq foot. Out of curiosity, I decided to look at granites even tho my heart was set on the grey quartz. We saw one black granite that was $48 and we loved it and our salesman said...thats the one! It looks better! Normally a salesperson will try to sell you the more expensive option, but not at AGS. They helped me select what would look best..not the highest price. They won points with me there. Roland came out and did the measurements within 2 weeks and was very helpful. A week later I came in for my template with Fabio and he was a true professional. He gave me some tips on things he would change if it was his house and the suggestions were perfect. A little more than a week later, Jason and Jose came to install my counters. They were friendly and very skilled. They answered all my questions. It was Jason's first day on the job and I would never have known if he didn't tell me. He was fast and good at his job. Jose was a seasoned professional and I felt totally comfortable that the job would come out great. And it did!! One of the windowsills broke during install and Jose took some measurements so I could get that replaced in granite. I need to followup on picking those up, but my experience with AGS was great. I never bothered to shop around for other quotes after my first experience in the showroom and the experience only got better. Thanks guys!

I initially went to AGS to get an idea of Quartz or Granite countertops. I was greeted immediately by Penny and was introduced to Alex Rogers who works in the Operations side of the company. My intention as to get an idea of what materials (quartz or granite) I could use for kitchen countertops. Alex gave me a tour of the facility and showed me various styles of quartz and also the various levels of granite. Alex was very informative through the entire process and also provided locations that supplied granite to get a better idea of what was available. I walked out of AGS knowing a lot more than I thought and was excited on a kitchen renovation. After little discussion I wanted to do the work with AGS and an appointment was scheduled to have an AGS representative come out to the residence and provide an accurate measurement of the square footage. Roland from AGS came out and did an outstanding job measuring countertops and provided advise when asked. On the day of installation, the crew (John, Bob and Alex himself) arrived promptly and went right to work. They group was very efficient and knew exactly what they were doing. Each person went out of their way to make the perfect installation. From perfect granite seams to fixing kitchen drawers to securing a dishwashing machine, everything was done perfectly and professionally. The end result was a beautiful countertop which transformed the entire kitchen. I would and have recommended AGS to anyone interested in granite or quartz installations done the right way. There are A LOT of companies out there who claim to do kitchen and bath installs, but this company stands behind their work and will work with the consumer to get the best possible result.

I had 2 other quotes before I went to AGS stone. I decided to hire this company because I felt I got more bang for my buck. Bill was my sales man. Knowledgeable of the trade. We exchanged many emails to narrow down my expectations, wants, costs. Shane was the project manager and he brought his crew to eyeball the job, discuss work to be done to my home. Martin and Bob were the main guys. Martin is the master when it comes to cabinetry and Bob is his right hand man. They were always polite, on time, and did their best to keep dust/construction debris to a minimum. I had concerns about having people in my home when I would not be there and Shane eased my concerns right from the start! They do use plumbers, electricians, drywall people which is outside of their scope of license, so patience is needed as far as scheduling is concerned. This went fairly smooth though. Roland was the granite man and he is a wealth of information on granite. He answered all my questions as did all of AGS thru the whole remodel. No hick ups as this stage went smoothly. The manufacture had a couple of issues but Shane did his best to keep this process moving along. The project took about 6 weeks, start to finish. The first 3 weeks or so was every day on the job but because of circumstances on my part and a holiday, the end game was later than estimated. It is the nature of the beast concerning remodeling. Great company with many selections, ideas, knowledgeable work force. On time, easy to contact, easy to communicate with. They actually want the customer to be very satisfied with their new kitchens and baths.
