Description of Work: We had a NEW roof installed six years ago. A couple of weeks ago, an entire section of shingles fell off the side of the house! We tried reaching the old company (Gold Seal Roofing) since we had a warranty with them but lo and behold, they had gone out of business! My husband searched around--we checked Angie's List as well-and discovered Affordable Roofing Systems. My husband called them--they said they'd send someone out to look at it--they did--that day! They said they'd be at our house the next morning at 7:00 a.m. Guess what? They were knocking on the door at 7:00 a.m. It was raining that day but the company rep said he didn't want to risk rain getting into our house so HE WORKED IN THE RAIN and got the job done. We couldn't be more impressed with the responsiveness and the professional attitude. Other companies could have said "we'll return when it's not raining".... Not them--they worked in the rain!!! Description of Work: Concrete was laid, and a roof installed over a brick patio We signed a contract for service in October 2011. The roof was to be installed in 4-6 weeks. Made several phone calls November - December with no return phone call. After filing a complaint with the BBB we were contacted. The work was done within 1 week, HOWEVER a REQUIRED CITY permit was not pulled. So now I have a roof that me be torn down and re-installed depending on the city inspector. The company stated a permit didn't have to be pulled, then they said, if we pulled a permit it would of cost us 750.00 more, then they said we have to have a permit. I knew one had to be pulled because I called the city to see what was required before we signed the contract. We advised them one had to be pulled.
