He came in and was pretty knowledgeable. He didn't actually have to do much, and he was able to stop the leaks for now. He also came out when he said he would.

It went extremely well, especially after the first roofer I called said he'd come by and never did return my calls. Affordable Roofing called me back within 24 hours to arrange the service. It was initially scheduled for 2 weeks, but then they had a cancellation and asked if it was ok to come a week early. They were on time...told me again exactly what they would do. Metal roofs are not easy to work on due to slippage...but he worked safely with a harness and after checking the entire roof (2,600 sq ft home) and securing all the screws said it was in good shape. He also cleaned the gutters and trimmed trees touching the roof and cleaned the yard nicely before he left. He was polite, professional, seemed knowledgeable and I would definitely use him again for any roof work.

For years we had postponed the hassle and cost of replacing the aging (and oft-leaking) tile roof on our single-family home, but this year we decided, not without some trepidation, that it was finally time. Affordable Roofing was one of several providers from which we obtained quotes (all of which were very highly rated on Angie's List, or we wouldn't have considered them in the first place), and while all of these companies were as professional and courteous as one would expect from an Angie's List award winner, none of them could match the complete package of expertise, selection, service and value which Affordable brought to the table. Throughout the quoting process Affordable was represented by Mr. Brett Bischof, a consummate professional whom we met when he came to our house to introduce himself and the product lines and services offered by Affordable. (Affordable carries the full lines of what my own research had suggested are the two largest and highest-quality roofing material manufacturers in the country, with the best product guarantees, as well.) After a brief introduction and review of options, Mr. Bischof ascended the roof to take measurements in order to be able to give an accurate quote. He then returned to give us a chance to ask any questions (we'd been perusing the brochures he'd left with us in the meantime), and we took him at his word when he said he'd be happy to answer as many questions as we might have -- and we did have a barrel full of questions, despite having already been through the quoting process with a couple of other roofers. Whether he expected such a litany of questions or not, he never let on otherwise, but gave patient and thorough answers throughout, and sometimes more than once (for example, when we didn't understand one of the finer points of roofing technology, warranties, or compatible option combinations). Though we were impressed with Mr. Bischof and with Affordable's warranties and service record, we weren't about to rush into such a big-ticket purchase. Over the course of the next several weeks we placed a number of follow-up calls to Mr. Bischof (as well as to a couple of his competitors) for verification or clarification of details on materials, warranties, options and pricing, and he continued to surpass with his technical and industry knowledge and his easy but polite and focused manner. When the time came for the final decision, not only did Affordable offer the best deal in terms of price and value, but we simply had no qualms about Affordable (while others left us with a small doubt here or there), and our general impression was that Affordable would go the final yard, when others might not. As it turned out, our confidence in Affordable and Mr. Bischof was never let down in the doing. They came to do the job during the dates they said they would come; they arrived to the house when they said they'd be here; they took all the care they had promised to protect our property and our pets and (most importantly) our selves during the inherently dangerous process of removing the existing roof; and they cleaned up as they'd promised at the end of each day (including sweeping up and using a magnet to pick up the many nails which inevitably fall about during the demolition phase). Their team was polite and courteous and focused on their job, and at the start of each day one or two of the supervisors introduced themselves, let us know of their goals for the day and expected progress, and encouraged us to approach them at any time with any questions or concerns. They finished the job on time and cleaned our lanai, driveway, landscaping and gutters (including a final pass with the magnet for any stray nails), so that the next day you would never have known they'd been there. The first-class service continued even after the job had been effectively completed, with calls from Affordable to let us know the expected time-frame for the county inspector to come to make the final sign-off on the permit, as well as to let us know when to expect the visit from the shingle manufacturer, who would inspect for quality of installation in order to make the warranty official. Finally, a few weeks after the job we noticed the kind of pleasant surprise one doesn't expect from any service provider these days: free of charge, Affordable had replaced some rotted boards near the soffits at one corner of our house (under the eaves so not part of the roof replacement process); I'd mentioned them only off-hand and in passing (asking whether they might have rotted as a result of a previous roof leak near that spot), and never with any expectation that Affordable would replace them (gratis or otherwise). Surprises like that never go out of style. We wholeheartedly and enthusiastically recommend Affordable Roofing, without reservation, and give them our highest rating.

The complete project took some time to produce, but everything turned out fantastic. Affordable's installation turning out great and their wonderful support helped us complete the project. I knew we had some specialty lumber to replace on our Dormers. After Affordable completed their tear off, We discovered that the 20 yr. old galvanized flashing on the 2nd floor was rusted and needed to be replaced, resulting in additional lumber and work. We all discussed the situation and Affordable's Supervisor referred me to an excellent carpenter to help with the lumber replacement portion of the project. The replacement wood took 6 weeks to receive. When the wood arrived, the carpenter and I tore off the bad wood and Affordable replaced the flashing and completed the roof the same day.The Carpenter and I finished the job. Everything is done and beautiful, THANK YOU Affordable.

I joined Angie List, specifically to review this company. I originally was impressed by this company. My first call, I was told someone would be calling me to set an appointment, but that they were two weeks behind. I agreed and expected some delay to the next step. To my surprise someone called me that same day! He set an appointment for three days later (again surprised). I waited around all day on a Saturday, as he did not know what time he would be arriving to my house. I called around 5pm, because I had never heard from him. He called about an hour later and said that he was over heated from the job he did in the morning (completely understandable, it was HOT that day) and we made an appointment for him to stop by 5 days later. I was called two hours before my appointment to say that he was early and if I couldn't meet him earlier (which I told him I couldn't and he acknowledged that on the VM he left me asking to meet him earlier) we would need to reschedule, because he wasn't going to stay in the area to wait for me. I was walking into a doctors appointment and told him I couldn't talk about a reschedule at that time and would call him when I got out. I called him, left a VM and he has yet, 5 days later to call me back. I called the office today, to get a different person to come out to the house. First and foremost, when the phone was answered, it was answered as such, "Hello?" I had to ask to make sure I called the right number "is this affordable roofing?" " Yes <silence>". I should have known that the call wouldn't turn out well. I specifically started my conversation by saying, I was hoping to get someone different out to my house as the person they originally gave me keeps cancelling and hasn't returned my last call. I was then told that it is because they are two weeks behind (which I already knew, based on the first time I called). I explained to her the events that took place prior and said, it's no because you are two weeks out on work. This extremely unfriendly woman, then said "Well what do you want me to do, you're just yelling, and that makes me shut down" I said I am not yelling I am explaining to you what happened and has nothing to do with how much work you have." she then, not so friendly responded "well what do you want me to do, send someone else out." I was trying to yet again explain to her, that I was not yelling and yes, I was looking for someone else to come out, because that is how I started my conversation. I was just explaining my story.. which I wasn't even upset about. She then hung up on me. I just wanted someone different to come out. If I was so "angry", why would I call the same company to have another person to come out (they had not even performed a quote)? There are dozens of roofing companies out there With all the great reviews that led me to call this company- they sadly have not been true for me. I have now signed a work order with another roofing company, who came out when they said they would and even called 40 minute prior to confirm their arrival.

They arrived July 7th and completed July 8th. Had plenty of personnel to work on the roof, men knew exactly what they were supposed to do. No one wasted any time. Work was completed and cleanup was very thorough. We would highly recommend them to anyone who needs a new roof. Everyone was very pleasant to work with and answered our questions with ease.

The company did a great job. I was out of town when they completed the work. When I returned, my yard was just as I had left it. They cleaned up all the mess and returned out to check on everything.

As previously stated Steve Mosher from Affordable roofing systems was professional and prompt. I was very pleased with the work and would recommend them again.

Estimated start date was put back due to rainy weather and, despite what I've seen with other roofers, they would not start a job if it was going to or was raining ( makes sense). They showed up on time and completed the job in a day and a half. Although there was some old black tar paper and a few odds and ends of hardware in bushes and in the grass after they left, this is unavoidable to some extent with all roofers and on balance it wasn't bad. They completed the wind mitigation report which got me a nice reduction in home insurance premium.

They gave me a timeline of two weeks out for a cost estimate but we're able to show up the next day. Estimate was reasonable and complete.

They were terrific and the roof was a different kind of roof. The job went great overall. They were very prompt and very honest about what they said that they were going to do and when they said that they were going to do it. Their work people were very courteous. They were Hispanic but they seemed to be able to understand things, like we needed special things done for the skylight and they were very good about that. They were able to communicate with the people who did the skylight and the solar tube. The other company that we contacted did not seem to be too interested in the job but Affordable was great. They knew what to do and they worked with the manufacturing company very well. It was a different kind of roof so what they did was not your usual kind of installation so I do not know how to tell you about their price. The roof also has a 50-year guarantee so I do not think that we are going to have to worry about it but if I had other types of things to get done, I would use them again.

We signed the contract on Jan. 27th 2014. The roof was not completed until May 31st 2014. Yes it took 4 months. The contract stated 6-8 weeks. The pricing and quality of the work was good. It appears this company over books itself to stay busy. Chris and Chris the subs did an excellent Job when they were here. The management was responsive and the salesman was good but suffered from amnesia as soon as the contract was signed. Overall I would recommend them but be sure to firm up the time and duration of install.

I felt the service was fair and reasonable. I explained that I recently purchased a home and it was noted that the roof valleys may need to be resealed to prevent water intrusion and future leaks. The technician visited my home and confirmed that the roof was in overall good condition but the valleys in fact needed to be resealed. It was a small job so I was charged their minimum charge of $250 but it was well worth it to have the peace of mind and to avoid going on the roof myself.

Best quote received with quickest appt. date. Roofing was done by Rex Merryman, who was prompt, professional and knowledgeable. He returned my phone calls promptly and his workmanship was done very well. I was very satisfied with the service and will use in the future to replace entire roof. While he was on the roof he checked out the rest of it and found some loose nails and pounded them in and sealed them. He was very professional and courteous. He was a little late to the appointed time, but called to tell me he would be late.

The deliveries showed up as promised. The work performed was above what was expected. The crew started and completed in two days as promised. The only down side: my surveillance camera captured two of the work crew relieving themselves (urinating) on the north west corner of my house.

Interviewed 3 roofing companies. Bret explained the process from start to finish along with the available warranty. The job was started on time and actually finished before the completion date. We have a lot of lush landscaping and none was damaged and our new driveway was not cracked. The new roof looks great and I highly recommend this company.

We originally chose Affordable because the pricing was good (not the cheapest, but in the middle) and their install timeframe was within our timeframe. (4-6 weeks) A completion date was written in the contract. The knowledge of the rep was good and we were comfortable with this. We also liked the fact that the crew wasn't a subcontractor, but employees of the company. When, I hadn't heard from them to schedule the job one week before the deadline, I contacted them. We had somehow slipped through a crack and the job hadn't been scheduled. Even though they missed the deadline written in the contract, they worked very hard to accommodate us. They were very sorry about this, gave us some extra wood allowance and managed to schedule and complete the job only 2 days after the deadline. The job was neat, clean, quick and beautifully done. They maintained a tidy worksite, and cleaned up after themselves by the end of the job. I would recommend them to anyone, and use them again.

Every aspect of this experience was TOP Notch! John had come out to do an estimate back in August of 2012, we got busy with life and had to put the purchase off till November. John returned in November and took the time to explain the different materials they would be using and was able to give us the original price. We waited about 4 weeks to get scheduled in, permitting in Pasco County can be a challenge. The crew arrived everyday around 7:30 AM and wrapped up close to 4:00 for the three days they were here. Everyday they cleaned up all the loose shingles, wrappings, wood, nails, and anything else that ended up coming off the roof. The entire experience was great. Everyone we had contact with was courteous and professional. The original roof had a sky light flush mounted to the roof, every time it rained hard we got leaks. There never was a roof vent installed in the original roof and the house had hot spots everywhere in the summer months and extremely cold spots in the winter. Now we have a properly installed Sky Light that is raised above the roof line and properly flashed on all sides, and the newly installed roof ridge vent seems to have helped with our hot and cold spots, the temperatures being much more even though out the house. I highly recommend Affordable Roofing, if you are even thinking about any roofing work call these guys, you won't be sorry!

Affordable Roofing did a complete roof replacement for us. We obtained bids from 3 different contractors and were impressed with the time that the Affordable Roofing sales rep (Dan) took explaining the choices in materials along with the pros and cons. Affordable was not the least expensive contractor, and they were willing to revisit parts of their estimate to make their bid more competitive. We decided to use them on the basis of reputation and we were not disappointed. The roofers kept the area clean and free of debris, and they were careful with landscaping and our pool screen. We had an issue with the initial scheduling, but once we contacted the office, the issue was resolved to our satisfaction, and Dan did further follow up to make sure that the matter had been resolved. The work was completed within the time frame promised, and the roof looks great. The added benefit of the wind mitigation report that Affordable Roofing provides as part of their service is an added benefit resulting in a nice discount on our homeowner's insurance. We would definitely recommend Affordable Roofing to our friends and family.

I called Affordable on or about 9/20/13. I had called other roofers for a quote on repairing a leak in my roof and they were all busy for three weeks or more. Affordable offered an estimator to visit me on the following Tuesday, 9/24, so I was very pleased. While making the appointment, the (very nice) lady on the phone ket saying "roof replacement", and I kept correcting her that it was a leak repair. In any case, the appointment was made. On 9/24 Don arrived early (which was great for me) and took a look at the inside and outside of the roof. He started asking me about how old the roof was, what kind of shingles were used, etc. He then kind of ruefully said that I didn't really need my roof replaced; it should be good for a few more years. I explained that I didn't want a new roof, just the leak repaired. Don explained that he was not the right person to give an estimate of roof repair, he was the "whole roof" guy. It seems that, despite my best efforts, my appointment was recorded as a roof replacement. Don left and assured me the "repair" guy would contact me soon. After a couple of days passed and I did not get a call. I called the office and they assured me the repair person would call once he knew when he would be in my area. After a week and a half, I finally got the call from Rex, the repair guy. We made an appointment that turned out to be right at three weeks from when I first called, just like all the other roofers I called. I guess the three week wait is just standard. On 10/8/13, Rex arrived within the time frame promised (he called twenty minutes before arriving). Rex knew immediately what the problem was: an architectural flaw in my roof created a "dead valley" that pretty much guarantees a leak. The original builders had reinforced the leaky area and the patch had lasted for ten years, but now needed to be redone. Rex looked at the inside and outside of the roof and worked up an estimate of $375 to fix the leak with a 1 year warranty. I accepted the offer and the work was done the next day. It has not rained since the work was done. If the leak recurs, I will update this review. But I am very confident in Rex's expertise. He really demonstrated competence, elicited my trust, and represented Affordable Roofing quite well.
