We were pleased with the service provided by Affordable Roofing Systems from start to finish. The gentleman who quoted us worked with our hectic time schedule and arrived when promised. He did a very nice job explaining what the best material for our job would be and the time frame to expect the project to be completed. The office staff called and coordinated work to begin based on our schedule and the project was completed shortly afterwards. The workers did not leave any debris behind and someone even came to my office to finalize the paperwork! Although we were a small job, we were treated as if we were a close friend from start to finish. Thank you so much!

They seem to have done fairly good work, but they are ripping us off for more money then they agreed to. They say they had to put on 11 extra sheets of OSB to the roof. This would be fine if they had shown the what needed to be replaced and then replaced it (so we would know that they really needed to replace it). However, we received no notification that they needed to replace these until after they were completely done. No proof that they needed to, or actually did, add these sheets. Then the salesman was very rude when I talked to him about it. I would never recommend this company to anyone.

Went very well. Showed up on time, completed work in time. Very clean. Very friendly and professional. Lots of good pictures of step by step roof replacement. Highly recommend.

Dan called me and apologized for missing our appointment the following morning after I posted my original review. We re-scheduled for 1PM on Saturday. Saturday morning, Dan called and asked if it was okay to stop by earlier due to the pending storms. Dan spent over an hour here taking measurements, and describing how Affordable would install a new roof.

I chose Affordable because the sales rep, John, provided a better explanation of what needed to be done and what would be done. Other companies were less expensive. John stated that the crew would probably accomodate a couple of special requests that I had. That is painting the chimney cap and checking to see if the vent fan in the master bath room was vented properly. The crew that did the work - came on time, worked long hours and did a very good job cleaning up. No complaints at all about the work that was done. Here are the areas I have concerns about. The crew chief spoke very little english and didn't appear to understand my questions. I tried to communicate my special rquests but was unable to get a response from the crew chief. I called the company and they did send somebody out who spoke Englsih and he understood the requests and I was told they would be dealth with the next day. The next day came and went and nothing was done. I called the company again and they sent out a supervisor. Once again the response was that my requests would be done the next day. Nothing was done. I called again. They sent out the owners son. In the meantime it appears they added an external vent for the master bath room vent fan - I assume that was the appropiate and necessary fix. I was told the chimney cap would be done when the roof was complete. All along I had offered to pay extra to get these items taken care of. Finally I was quoted a price for the chimney cap. I said fine. Then I was told by the owners son that the workers felt it was too dangerous and he wouldn't let them do it. So my frustration is their communication - from the day the sales rep was on the roof to the days the crew and supervisors were there - how come I dould never get a straight answer. The company was responsive in sending out people to address my concerns but I would have much preferred been told right from the start that the chimney cap might be an issue.

It was awesome! The crew was very detailed and professional. The work they did was superb. We sat out in lawn chairs and watched the entire process and were amazed. They took care to ensure everything was just right and now we have a beautiful, well constructed, new roof--what a great feeling! Affordable Roofing Systems, Inc, (888)397-ROOF, is in Thonotosassa but services the whole bay area and beyond, and we never would have found them but for the Home Show at the Tropicana in St Petersburg. The cost was a bit high but we're happy we went with this company.

I called to request an estimate to perform labor for a re-roof in which I already pulled a permit, notice of commencement, and bought materials. They put me on hold for a minute and came back to tell me very rudley "no we don't do that." I asked why and they stumbled with the answer "it's against company policy."

Best price of all quotes requested. Actually completed the job a week earlier than expected. Eight hours from start to finish. Very professional team, did a great job with clean up, even the unexpected bathroom where some of the debris came through the open skylight that was being replaced. New skylight, new vents. Excellent job.

I telephoned approximately 6/10/2015 explaining that I needed a bid on a leaking roof. On 6/16/2015 I received a call back and asked if it was too late to put in a bid. I replied, "no" and we set up an appointment for the next afternoon after 4:00 pm. He was to call me before coming. He never called.

They did a great job. I was really pleased with them.

I would like to express my concerns about the work done on my property in Tampa, Florida. I first would like to say that one of the major factors of picking Affordable Roofing among the three bidders was the understanding that "matching materials" would be used when replacing any exposed roof sheathing. As I explained to the salesman, I had spent the last ten years renovating and restoring my 90-year old bungalow and matching original material was very important to me. We even discussed where the matching beadboard could be found or milled to match the existing exposed roof sheathing. I have spent a lot of time making sure both interior and exterior materials when replaced had the same look and feel of the original materials even if it came to milling them myself or using North Rome Lumber to recreate various moldings and trim. I was very clear that this was a condition of my approval of the contract and I was more than willing to pay for the correct materials to be used.When I inspected the roofing work, it was clear that Affordable Roofing DID NOT use matching materials for the exposed roof sheathing. The open rafter-tail design with the beadboard sheathing is a very important historical detail that I expected to remain after the re-roof was not in evidence. Where it was replaced, flat 1 x 8 stock was used. When I spoke to the company representatives about my concerns, I was told that they are a ?production roofing company? and they could not make any money using original materials like I had specified for the job. Upon my initial inspection I found several other difficiencies in the work. When rafters were replaced, they were incorrectly connected to the remaining section leading to a potential structural issue and a couple of holes were left allowing access to the attic space from the outside which could allow rodents and/or birds into the attic. After initial discussions with Affordable these items were repaired but the work done was very rough and not in a workmanlike manner I would expect from a professional roofing company. The rafters were attached with longer pieces to mend the void between the old and new rafter pieces, but gaps remain telling me that the connection is not tight enough. The outside holes were patched with wood in a manner that is unacceptable. We had discussed using metal mesh (hardware cloth) similar to what was used in other ventilation areas as this will become yet another problem I will have to deal with myself. Other problems I discussed with the Affordable included material being left at the jobsite weeks after I was told they?d be removed and splinters hanging from the exposed beadboard where nails had penetrated the wood. They had agreed to remove the hanging splinters ? some of which are 10? long but that was not done. The materials were not removed until I had a forth conversation with someone from the company. The materials were too large to be disposed of in the residential garbage can otherwise I would have just dumped them myself. Upon my last visit I found that several nails had fallen into the pool and stained the finish. My tenants removed several of these, but some of them had rusted and left stains on the pool finish. Overall I am very disappointed in the work Affordable Roofing has done on my property. I had researched this company through Angie?s List and The Better Business Bureau. Another reason I chose this company was the positive reviews in Angie?s list. I felt I could trust them with my biggest investment while I was away taking on another assignment. When they told me that ?if I was that concerned, I should have been there when the work was done? I was stunned by the treatment of their clients. My discussion with the Manager /Owner was completely inappropriate. I have never been spoken to so badly by a contractor. I have built or developed over 75 commercial projects and am not a stranger to the business. I couldn?t believe the attitude I received from them and wonder how they can ever get repeat business.I am paying the final invoice to them IN PROTEST. The only reason I am paying this invoice is to prevent them from filing a lien on my property. They can be assured that I will be exploring my rights under the law for the work that was done incorrectly.

On the first call Steve arrived on schedule and inspected the cracked skylight. He determined that all that was necessary was to replace the skylight. That was accomplished a few days later. We then requested a quote to replace the detached building roof with the metal roofing. Steve came and took the measurements for the material and gave us an estimated date for the installation. When the material was ready Steve and his helper Charlie arrived when he said that he would and work began immediately. The job was done exceeding my expectations and in quick fashion. They were quick and thorough throughout the job, doing a little more than we had discussed, even offering to return to blow the debris from the roof after the leaf drop season. Steve and Charlie are highly recommended for any roofing job.

I had a leak on my roof. They came and patched it. Everything went fine.

We had referred to Angie's List for roofing company endorsements and are highly grateful we did. Affordable Roofing Systems is magnificent! Dustin gave us project insight and confidence; the team of five were non-stop, superbly skilled, competent, gracious men. They removed 2 huge metal trailer bins of our old roofing material! Now we have a beautiful, clean, non-leaking roof [several rain storms have passed to confirm this].

Affordable is very professional and did a great job. I would recommend them. The only minor issue we had was the time it took between the signed contract and project completion ( 9 weeks). They have a great reputation and as a result have a large backlog of projects and also the rain/bad weather did not help.

The owner and his assistant were extremely responsive and very patient when answering my questions. The owner was punctual and very knowledgeable. He explained how the repair would be made and the cause behind why the roof was leaking. In the future, I will always contact Affordable Roofing Systems to assist with any roofing repair that may arise.

We couldn't be more happy. Very nice price for such a competitive market, personalized quoting, education and excellent service and construction. They prepared all of the permits, documentation and photos for our insurance company and spent a great amount of time explaining what all of the paperwork meant and who we should file it with. For first time home buyers, this was really appreciated. I need to mention one very important experience with "Affordable Roofing" and that was their employee "Dustin". Such a cool guy with a very gentle demeanor. Intelligent, good manners and d*** he knows his business. It was like we had known him for years. I know that sounds ridiculous but I couldn't say nicer things about the man. I wish Dustin and Affordable Roofing a lifetime of success. I couldn't be more happy. The only reason we gave them a B rating on responsiveness is because we were given a 4 to 5 week project date and didn't hear from them in over 6 weeks. John (the salesman) was awesome but Rick (the scheduler) was average and didn't communicate very well. with he customer . . . but when he did, the guys showed up as promised and did a great job. Anyway, probably not Ricks job to be the "people person" in this deal. Great experience and will recommend Affordable Roofing Systems to anyone. Thanks especially to Dustin and his crew.
