Advanced Gas Works

I found them on Angie's List. He was wonderful. He fixed what needed to be fixed. I felt like I could trust him in terms of what he said. In fact he told me about something that I didn't need to get done when somebody else had told me that I did. He could've actually made more money by doing that. He had come to my house three years before, and he remembered me as well as my wife. He did the job well at a reasonable price. He was a pleasure to work with.

I sent an email to Advabced asking for a price quote. They called me within 24 hours and we discussed various options and which BTU would be best for me. Even though they carried a different brand then what I wanted, they did not try to push me into purchasing their brand like many dealers do. They got me a quote right away which was a similar price to the prices I researched online. The installation charge was around $300 which also was very competitive. They always responded quickly to all my emails and kept me informed on the shipment and estimated delivery date. Scheduled installation and arrived a little early. I needed another slab to set the heater on and Eddie went to store, purchased it and returned right away. He did not charge me extra labor to drive 20+ miles round trip to get the slab. Hooked up heater to gas and water lines, had to repostion the gas line alittle to make it fit. Everything went perfect and I am very happy with the new pool heater.

It went great, Eddie arrived in time, he was polite and got right to work. He inspected our gas fireplace, instructed us on the proper use and answered all of our questions.

He was wonderful and I would definitely recommend him. It looks like.

Called Eddie and made an appointment. He called back the day before and confirmed the appointment and also called the next morning before he arrived. He arrived on time and was very friendly and professional. He spread a clean drop cloth around the base of the fireplace which protected the light colored carpeting while he dismantled the fireplace log set with his tools. He explained exactly what he was doing and was very neat in going about his business, including carefully cleaning up after he finished.

Called day before, out first thing in the morning and gas fireplace is working like a charm.

Our fireplace pilot light was going out...it turned out it was clogged and just needed cleaning...I also mentioned that we'd had trouble using the remote even though I had changed the batteries in the remote...it turned out I needed to change the batteries in the main unit (which the company that installed it never showed me), we did that and now everything's working perfectly.

Eddie responded to my e-mail query IMMEDIATELY, came to the house the next day, gave us an estimate, worked with Kugels Fireplaces and ensured the size fireplace log we ordered would fit - we were 12 inches OFF and got the right log set ordered. Eddie made arrangements to pick up our order, drove it to our house, and PROFESSIONALLY installed the log. Ensured we got the right propane tank, gave us info on getting a tank we thought was no good - filled and usable. He came back six hours after the install, set up the tank, gave us instructions on connecting future tanks (it works just fine) and tested the fireplace, He caulked around the area he had to drill, cleaned up any and all mess. Additionally he ran the gas line under about six feet or existing outdoor grill area, crawling into a space that was "small" The work is OUTSTANDING, works great and beautiful. The mark of a true professional who cares about his work. He is one more reason we subscribe to Angie's list.

excellent experience. I had originally went with a different company that was cheaper but they never showed up and wouldnt return my phone calls. AGW was prompt and did excellent work and was willing to answer all my questions on this project as well as possible future projects.

We already had the gas stove and the gas grill and then he installed the piping for the stove, which was installed it on the outside of the wall. We called him back and then he kept on giving me some excuses. He told us to open up the wall, which we did. He came and pushed the pipe into the wall and charged us $65.00. He then secured it was the clamps. He instructed us that the wall had to be 10 inches wide and he told us that we had close the wall up ourselves. We got some other opinions and they had advised me that they never seem anythign like this.

Mr. Comancho was very punctual and went right to work. He made sure to ask me my opinion on where exactly I wanted the lantern placed and how high I wanted the flame. He completed both jobs (install plus relit) in 1.5 hours. I have previously had a terrible time finding a gas contractor that would come do this work because it wasn't a "big" job. I went on Angies List and picked Advanced Gas Works based on the reviews. I called on a Tuesday and he came out on Thursday morning and completed the work. HOW REFRESHING!!! I would definitely call him again for any of my gas appliance needs.

We purchased an expensive ss grill from a gas company over six years ago that we did not want to replace. The interior burners, pipes and grates had worn out. The gas company would not service the grill. AGWs cleaned the grill, found new parts and made the repairs. It works better than new. I was aware of and approved the costs for the replacement parts in advance. Lots more cost effective than buying a new grill plus it works perfectly now. Good service. Good value.

I had a home built in 2002 in Land-o-lakes, Fl. A few years ago I relocated to Largo, Fl. and rented my Land-o-lakes home. My renter called me on 12-20-09 and said the gas water heater was leaking badly at the base of the tank. I called a close friend in Land-o-lakes, who manages the property for me, and ask her to call the folks who installed the water heater in 2002 and get a quote for replacement. She called and they met her at the home on 12-21-09. Their quote was over $2,000.00 with a $75.00 fee for the price quote, and the water heater would have to be ordered and would take a few days. Granted, this gas water heater is somewhat specialized, in that it requires a fan driven venting system, but $2,000.00 plus, seemed a bit steep. I spent the evening investigating water heaters online and then visited Angies List, hoping to find a good contractor to get another quote. I came across Advanced Gas Works, owned by Eddie Camacho -- phone # (813) 786-0681. I read all the positive comments written by those that had done business with Advanced Gas Works. On 12-22-09, I called Eddie @ Advanced Gas Works and explained my situation. He could not have been more courteous, patient, and helpful. I do not know if he can do this in every situation, but he gave me a quote, over the phone, and it was nearly half the cost I was quoted by the other company --- and without that pesky $75.00 quote fee. Eddie explained it would be an A.O. Smith gas water heater. From my online investigation the night before, I knew this was a good water heater, and I knew the price of the water heater. I ask Eddie when he could install the water heater and he said he would verify its availability, and call me right back --- which he did. Eddie installed the water heater the next morning at 8:30 am. Both, my renter and my property manager, told me how friendly and professional Eddie was. In fact, my renter mentioned one of the toilets in the house was running, so she had been shutting off the water to the tank. Eddie told my property manager, if she went after the parts to fix the toilet, while he finished the water heater installation, he would fix the toilet --- which he did. I never got to meet Eddie in person, but I will certainly tell others of my satisfaction with his professionalism and very reasonable price. In an attempt to show my gratitude to Eddie, I asked my property manager to get business cards from him, so she could give them to my neighbor and friend who is the head of the home owner's association. Eddie was professional, helpful and you knew he was giving you an honest and well-informed estimate of what needed to be performed. He then returned with the same kind of service. In all Eddie had to make 5 trips to my home and was always on time, friendly and extremely efficient. I would recommended him with great confidence that he will meet your needs. The cost for Eddie's service of all 3 appliances plus cost of new water heater and parts was reasonable and fair.

I called Eddie last week for an initial estimate a week ago and he was available to come out that day, but I wasn't sure about his quote of $200, so I called someone else the next day and received the same quote. Eddie was not going to be available again until this week, so I actually initially hired the other contractor who gave the same quote. I'll leave a not so glowing review for that contractor (Mike Hooks Plumbing in Brandon) who ended up as a no-call/no-show. So, back to Eddie, who I knew was back in town (and I was honestly more comfortable after talking to him anyway, as he was going to use a higher quality material). Eddie showed up within about an hour of my call and started the work! He had to trench over to the new location and we had just put down weed block and the gravel base for our upcoming pavers. He was like a surgeon, putting the dirt only on the overturned weed block. He didn't have all the materials he needed with him (again, he came right to the house to quote us without knowing he was doing the job that day). He said he'd return at about 7:30 the next morning to finish up. He actually showed up even earlier and finished the work quickly. At one point I looked out the window and I could see the trench line, etc. and not 5 minutes later, I looked out again and it was like he had never been there! It was just gravel again, as we had started with. Needless to say, we were very pleased and will use Eddie again.

This is the 2nd time we've used Advanced Gas Works and the 2nd time we've been completely satisfied. Eddie came out on Friday, 11/6 and gave me an estimate, then returned on Saturday to do the job. Did everything we had agreed upon and at the estimated price. As was the case when we used him before, he showed up when he said he would, the work was done properly, and we felt we paid a fair price for quality, dependable work. Just for reference, the other time we used AGW, Eddie did the hook up on our new gas cooktop and installed our other exterior tankless gas water heater. I'm pleased to give Eddie/Advanced Gas Works our highest recommendation. Dependable, quality, trustworthy service providers are hard to find. I feel Eddie is one of the great ones!

Better than expected: Leak in piping to house. Service man from LP gas company told me what was needed to do repairs. Eddie not only did what I expected but added shut offs for future repair jobs and replaced a 1/2" pipe with 3/4" pipe to give better gas supply to the house. Fast, efficient and cleaned up afterwards. GREAT JOB!

I called him to let him know I wanted him to perform the work, and could he pull the permit. He did not contact me back. Two weeks later, I called him and he told me that he was so swamped he didn't have time to pull the permit. We agreed to have him do it again, and I have never heard from him. I have the feeling he didn't not want to pull the permit for some reason.

They did a good job. Their price was reasonable. They were polite. They did whatever was needed and did not create any work. They fixed gas for us.

His price was reasonable. His quality was very good.

Eddie was prompt, diagnosed the problem quickly and fixed it quickly.

It was a great experience. I would definitely use him again. I would gladly refer him to my family and friends.
