 + 1 moreI contacted Advanced Gas Works by email through Angie's List and I received a very quick reply. Eddie came to my house to provide his recommendations and a quote the next day. He suggested to wait with the gas line installation until the grill had arrived, so he could test the proper working of the grill. Once the grill arrived I contacted Eddie again and made an appointment for three days later. Eddie arrived on time and completed the installation of the gas line (about 10 ft) in about 45 minutes. He was professional and did a nice job. He tested the grill and all worked well. Overall a very positive experience and it seems that Eddie is an expert in gas.
Description of Work: Installation of a gas line for a natural gas grill in our patio.

 + -1 moreEddie was awesome. Originally had an appointment for Saturday, but due to unforeseen circumstances, his other job ran into problems, and Eddie could not make it. He offered to reschedule for the next day, and showed up on time and did the job. I did not expect a contractor to work on a Sunday, but Eddie said he was upset he could not make the previous appointment and felt he had to do it on Sunday. No problem with me. Sometime things can happed on other jobs that lead to delays. I appreciate Eddie going the extra mile, and getting the job done.

 + 0 moreEddie is great to work with. I had Eddie out before Christmas to install a new gas water heater and fix my gas fireplace that hasn't been working right for years. In addition to fixing it, he went above and beyond and recommended a remote control to operated the fireplace that I love! I would highly recommend Eddie anytime you need a fair, straight shooting gas man who tells it like it is. I feel like I got a fair deal on the new water heater and fireplace repair ($780), and Eddie didn't even charge for the attempted gas cooktop replacement. His prices were a lot more reasonable than anyone else I called who were listed on Angie's List. Defintely, would nominate Advance Gas Works for any Angie's List awards for providing great service. Already have recommended Eddie to both my next door neighbors who have already used him.
Description of Work: I wanted to surprise my wife with a new stainless steel gas cooktop and when Lowe's delivered it to my door, I called Eddie to come install it. He came out the same day I called, and after disconnecting my 20 year old cooktop and bringing in the new cooktop, we found it would not fit in my existing cutout in the granite countertop. Needless to say how disapponted I was, but Eddie got right back to work and reboxed the new cooktop, and reinstalled the old one. I was impressed with how patient and understanding Eddie was in doing all this without complaint.

Although it was just a loose wire to the switch, I was very happy with his prompt service!  + 0 moreWe contacted Eddie on Friday, January 10th, because, after taking three days to get an answer from the Heat-N-Glo recommended service provider, we were advised that January 30th was the first available appointment. Eddie said he could service the fireplaces the next day, Saturday, January 11th. He said he could be at our residence by 11AM. He arrived at 10AM, repaired each unit, replaced parts as necessary, and was done in less than two hours.
Description of Work: Repaired 3 Heat-N-Glo gas fireplaces.

However, I am happy to say that the installer did an excellent job of not only installing our new heater but replacing the frozen couplings. He did a great job. On time, professional, courteous, efficient, and reasonable cost. I have not reservations about recommending this business.

 + -1 moreI called him bcoz of the ratings on angies list. Although some people had cautioned against using him and had similar complaints, I thought those wud be eccentric experiences. Most people on angies list go by highest and most ratings of providers and it isn't a good idea. I DONOT RECOMMEND EDDIE FOR ANY WORK. WASTE OF TIME. NOT PROFESSIONAL AND RUDE.
Description of Work: first of all he never returns your call onetime and never picks up phone when called. He says he is just one man show doing all the work. First time he called back two days after my call. But he didn't show up onetime for the appointment. He expects me to wait at home until it is convenient for him to come over. It was early in december and I thought bcoz of holidays, it is better to call in jan. Another appointment in january after waiting for him to reply for a day. Fixed time around noon on a saturday. Again no show or call at the appointment time. When called, as usual didn't pick up the phone but called back in ten minutes. As expected, he is still at his previous job and can't tell when he wud be able to finish it. But said he wud call me half hr before coming over. I cancelled my plans for the day bcoz this jb has been pending for almost two months now. I would expect a courtesy call if running late or an approximate time of arrival if he can't make it onetime. On top of that, he is rude and unprofessional.

 + 1 moreI called several places - Advanced Gas Works was courteous, fast, comparable pricewise (and much better than some others) to the best of the 8 plumbers I called, and was the only one willing to come out and do the work on the same day I called. Eddie gave me a quote on the phone, and within an hour was at my house taking care of the old defunct water heater. He was very professional, and about an hour and a half later - maybe two hours, everything was wrapped up and done. No surprises, no mess... everything was cleaned up very nicely. We'll definitely call him back for this sort of work in the future.

 + -1 moreAppt for 1pm for fireplace repair. Eddie stated he "would shoot for 1pm" No show. Called multiple times and got no answer. He finally answered at 1:45 and stated that he would be here at 3:30. I couldn't accommodate that time and requested 5PM. He called at 5:07 PM. I missed the call, and called him back 18 min later. He stated that he couldn't wait, and had to move on to the next job. I tried to have him reconsider, particularly when he had inconvenienced and delayed me to a greater degree. No luck. He offered to reschedule 2 days later "around noon". When I asked "what does around noon mean?", he became defensive, and told me to find someone else. In the middle of my reply, he hung up on me. I get that small businesses have certain limitations. However, not having access to cell phones and common courtesy shouldn't be among them. A timely call and professional bearing was all that was required to keep my business. Eddie could not deliver.
Description of Work: Not show up on time. Not call to update about delay. Not work with me when I was delayed for 18min. Rude and unprofessional on the phone. Hung up on me.

 + 0 moreI believe Eddie of Advanced Gas Works to be the best kind of business man. He could have taken complete advantage of our being new pool owners and made a great sale and we probably wouldn't have known the difference, but he was truly a gentleman and a man of great integrity and saved us a lot of money. Just as a side note, I have not yet received the same type of service from Company X, and if they don't get it together I'll just say blast the cost and call Eddie from Advanced Gas Works backand pay him to do the job right. Customer service and satisfaction mean a lot to me.
Description of Work: We bought our house in Palm Harbor on October 10th. The pool needed some work and we had a new 450, 000 btu pool heater put in, but it's powered by propane. On looking at the existing propane tank I had concerns about its condition and called Eddie from Advanced Gas Works to come and inspect it and to provide services to us as far as plumbing the tank to the heater and providing the gas. Eddie inspected the tank because like I said, I had serious concerns about it's condition and serviceability (it looked like a hunk of junk to me). Eddie reassured me that it was only cosmetic and that the tank was sound. While he was inspecting the tank he noticed that there was a logo on it from another company and said, "I could go ahead and charge you $4000.00 to put in a new tank, fill it, do the plumbing work and get your business, but Company X should do this for free since it's their tank (the inspection, plumbing, etc. not including the propane of course) and he would not let me pay him for his work or time.

 + 0 moreEddie and his assistant, Luis, i think, did a fabulous job. They came on two different days because the first day I did not have access to the crawl space. The first day, they dug a trench through the jungle and buried a line to the BBQ in the outdoor pavilion. They had to take up some pavers in the walk but replaced them perfectly so you would never know. They supplied a conversion kit for the BBQ and connected it all. Now I can BBQ! On the second day, they ran a new pipe under the house, drilled up into the living room cabinet and into the wood burning fireplace. It is all hidden and beautiful. I had not yet purchased the logs and burner so he will come back another time to install that. They were pleasant to work with, reasonably priced, worked hard and efficiently. I would definitely use them again and recommend them to anyone else.
Description of Work: Install a new gas line to the outdoor BBQ and run a line to the indoor fireplace. Also replaced a small diameter line that was running to the stove so it could handle both the stove and the fireplace.

 + 1 morethe pilot of my propane water heater was malfunctioning(no staying lit) I called the company who installed it 7y ago (ARS Rescue Rooter)when the technician arrived,stated I may need a new heater that it will cost $1653,or install a new control valve ,burner and expansion tank for $750.I got very upset because I could not believe what he was saying,at the end he charged me $89.90 for a diagnosis he did not do it I found Advanced gas works on Angies List.Eddie arrived home I explained the problem and in 15-20 minutes he fixed and charged me $85.he was very profesional and he knew what he was doing. I will not hesitate to call him again. the other company is running an scam.

 + -1 moreI talked to a gentleman at Advance Gas Works about repairing a gas leak on my gas grill. He told he would do the job when he received parts for another job that he was going to do in my area. Seven days later, he never called. If this company lists Hillsborough County in their service area and does not want to service east Hillsborough County because it is to far to travel. Why list the entire county as a service area? I would not recommend this count to anyone.

Even though the grill was an older model he said it was in good condition and worth fixing rather than replacing, saving us a significant amount of money. Once the parts came in, he repaired our grill in under an hour.
