My husband surprised me with a trip to Ackerman on Valentine's Day. He had been asking for quite some time what I would like as a thank you for helping him with recent problems with his mother and as a celebration of our years of marriage. We were greeted by Matt who, when given a budget, led us immediately to the ring we ended up buying. I had told him I wasn't really sure what I wanted -- a simple diamond band or something more "artsy." We looked at other rings just to satisfy ourselves but it become quite apparent that Matt had gotten it perfect. And the ring was below budget! I never expected the choice to be so easy. What a wonderful experience!

How do I write a review summarizing 7 YEARS of wonderful experiences every time I walk into Ackerman's Jewelry? I'll give it try. Hang in there with me. As I have already said above, Ackerman's is locally owned and Ron and Tina Ackerman are wonderful jewelers as well as being wonderful people who have created such a welcoming environment in our community. Also, I mentioned our consultant, Linda. Our family has gotten to know her over the years and it is not about the sale, it is the relationship she has created and cultivating with us. She has helped my husband with anniversary, Mother's Day, Christmas, and birthday gifts, thank goodness. What's most important is that she knows ME and my taste in jewelry. I I have received many beautiful pieces over the years, not to mention what I buy for myself, and they stand behind their products 100%. Even better though, she has gotten to know some of my extended family (just by us talking bc they don't live in Tampa) and has helped me pick out wonderful pieces for, births, communions, birthdays and Christmas gifts. She has also helped me with meaningful gifts for friends, like that perfect Pandora charm, or a specific charm with meaning of an Alex and Ani bracelet. And even more, helped my son purchase his first piece of jewelry for a girlfriend. With that being said, Ackerman's has a price point and special piece for every occasion or those 'just because' gifts. Being locally owned, they carry high end designer brands that gives them more of a global feel. They carry brands that you may have to go to an upscale retailer to purchase but the difference is you will get personal service not only buying the piece of jewelry or watch but the personal service doesn't stop after the sale. Whether it is a piece from Hearts on Fire, Forevermark, Charles Krypell, Roberto Coin, Natalie K, Simon G, Marco Bigego, Mikimoto, Scott K, not to mention collections of gemstones and specialty jewelry collections and watch collections of Breitling, Tag Heuer, Omega, Raymond Weils, plus more that I can't recall, the service continues. Yes that was all from memory, that's how much we have shopped there. The service continues long after the sale, whether it being a new battery for the watch or rhodium for your white gold, polishing the platinum or shining up those diamonds and gemstones, trust me, you will get the service. I have for years. I will walk in with pieces that I wear daily (and you know what they can look like) and walk out with those same pieces looking like they just came out of the jewelry case!! The entire Ackerman team is always ready and eager to assist, Tina, Ron, Pete, Tim, George, Matt, Andrea, Deena and I'm sorry if I'm leaving anyone out but they are all exceptional with impeccable personal service. I know all of this from personal experience over the years with service and Ackerman's standing 100% behind their products. I buy pieces that can withstand my active lifestyle but I have a few of those pieces that are only reserved for special occasions and wear them only then. My point is after writing this 'short story/mini novel' is that Ackerman's is and always will be our go to family jeweler. I highly recommend Ackerman Jewelers for so many reasons. Their wonderful selection of designers and impeccable service is far above what I could ever imagine. Relationships created with their clients are invaluable. Normally that doesn't happen at mall stores or big box stores. We have been loyal Ackerman clients for years and will be loyal clients for many more. We are so excited to see the completion and opening of their new expansion!

My husband purchased a necklace for me for our 10th anniversary. It was a very generous gift. When we realized that it really wasn't going to work for me as it was yellow gold and all of my jewelry is not, we went back to Ackerman's to see if we could find something else. The store is very expensive with high quality jewelry (a good thing). However, there was nothing within my price range that I wanted. I went back on 3 different occasions to look for something that would work. On two of the occasions I took the same piece of jewelry to add to the $1200 return to try and afford something in the store that I liked. On those occasions I was given two very different estimates ($1600 the first time and $1000 the second). Additionally, when I tried to add my Hearts on Fire diamond to the trade, they offered me half of what it was worth. Of course, they gave me lots of reasons why this was the case. Here is my biggest problem. If I can't find anything in a store that I can afford and the store can't seem to give me a reasonable value for one of their advertised best diamonds (Hearts on Fire), I believe good customer service would be to return my money and not require a trade. I would not recommend Ackerman Jewelers unless you are LOADED and can afford to lose thousands if you purchase a gift that your partner doesn't really like. I have left with no customer satisfaction.

I took my wife's wedding band in for repair, it had a bent prong. I also wanted to get that and another ring polished and cleaned up. The first thing they said was that the band was close to breaking and that they could fix it for $1100. When I told them that the ring only cost $1500 they dropped the price to $400. I felt like I was buying a used car. I told them that I just wanted what I came in for. They said a week. After a week plus 2 days I called and they said a couple more days. They called later that same day and said it was ready. The rings looked great. I just didn't like them trying to push other services on me.
