+ -1 moreI could not log on to the internet. So, I called 888 Computers which I found on Angie's list. Tim Payne, the owner, offered to come to my home to fix it, but since he lived so close to me, I took my mini Dell laptop to him. He ran a scan and showed me a list of about 20 viruses and spyware. He eliminated them all. He did some other stuff to it to make it run faster and loaded a free antivirus app. The whole thing took about an hour. I am very pleased and I would definitely use his services again.

+ -1 moreMy daughter's computer was infected with viruses that we couldn't seem to get rid of. Then the monitor started failing, and we couldn't see anything. I couldn't tell how serious the issues were, and my daughter had assignments due. I phoned Tim Payne at 888 Computer Systems, and he happened to be available that day. He was Dell certified, so we made an appointment. I'm really glad I called Tim, because he knew his stuff, and had us up and running the same day. My daughter hasn't had any issues with the PC since Tim fixed it, and it's been over a month.
Description of Work: My daughter's PC is a 2 1/2 year old Dell Dimension dual core Desktop running Windows Vista. The PC had extensive virus issues, and the computer didn't display data properly. I looked on Craig's list and found 888 Computer Systems that specialized in Dell PC's and made house calls. I made an appointment, and Time Payne came to my house on time the same day. I found him to be very knowledgeable, and efficient, and though over-qualified for PC repair, he was a pleasure to work with, and very thorough. I felt he was worth more than he charged. Tim repaired the Dell desktop as follows: 1. Removed add-on graphics card, and directed PC to use on-board graphics. This got the monitor working. 2. Backed up my daughter's data to USB hard drive 3. Completely restored Dell factory image to hard drive 4. Downloaded necessary updates to Windows VISTA 5. Scanned the saved data for viruses and restored to Dell hard drive 6. Installed shareware virus protection 7. Allowed my daughter to try out her programs to insure all was well.
