Ross Services

Scott from Ross Services 954-639-1960 advised that they needed a minimum of 400 square feet for a job and their minimum cost was $2,500. We were increasing the size of our patio/concrete slab, but it was under 400 square feet. I assume this is the same Ross Services listed on Angie's List, as the call back number is different. I have given it a C only because when I originally placed calls to the company, using the phone number on Angie's List, they never responded. My husband finally did hear from Scott, as mentioned above.

When I call Brain Ross (owner). He was quick to call me back and we set up and appointment for that following Sunday, which was impressive, due to the fact that most contractor/company's do not come out on weekends to give free estimates. When he came out that Sunday, he showed us his references along with pictures of his work.He also gave us a good set price for our backyard/pool/porch on installing pavers. A day before we had another contractor come out to give us an estimate and when he did he quote us a price, his also said that it could be $2000 to $4000 below or above the price he quoted, being on a budget people need a set price and not a fluctuated pricing. When he crew arrived the following Monday on time it took them about 3 days to finish the job, Brian (owner) showed up everyday and made sure we were aware that he was on property. We are happy with the results, their were some minor issue after completion of job, but calling on Brian the next day, the issues were corrected with no hesitation. We would diffidently be use his services again in the near future.. Thanks

They came out and showed up on time. They were polite and respectful. They gave me a quote that was a little more than I thought it was going to be and I haven't decided to go forward with that yet. He was very nice and took his time to explain everything and go over all the different options with me. He was very accommodating.

They were experienced and knowledgeable. It took them a little longer to do the job but it all worked out in the end. I am pretty happy with them overall. Their pricing is more than the pricing of other people.

We were not happy with them because after they got paid my husband called them because he wanted some extra things done after he saw the work done. The work that they did was done well. But we called them back many times and they kept saying that they would come over and they never did. Whenever we were able to reach them they would say they would come but they never showed up. So as far as follow up and for customer service follow up it was really bad. We had the job that we had to add to it they never came back as they said. Initial experience was okay. We would not say that it was wonderful just because of the personalities. Their work was fine but it was the follow up to get them to come back. They don’t show up, they don’t call, even though you may leave a message. My husband tried at least seven times calling, speaking to them or leaving a message, there was no return. They finished with the job, they got their money and that was that.

It was great, they came out, they did the quote, gave me the quote on the spot and it was pretty cool, hassle free. The impression was very good and very professional.

The work was efficiently done in three days; however, Ive learned that upon completion, it should have been pressure cleaned. It was left totally covered in sand. Brian told me to leave it and the sand would settle naturally. It didn't. I called him and he sent his paver guy to inspect the edges of the pavers because there was caked stuff (do not know what it is?) on most of the pavers. The paver guy could not identify what it is. He pressure cleaned it and it did not remove anything. That is when I called Brian on 06/10, at which time he attempted to blame me for putting some coating on or doing something to the pavers. I did not do that. He suggested I get a sealer person (because I wanted to seal the pavers) and I did not know who to call. He sent me his sealer person, who inspected and told me that it looked like thin set came up between the pavers (following rain)., which happens frequently with 1-inch pavers. I believe I should have been told this could have happened. The sealer guy told me he can pressure clean and remove as much as possible and seal the pavers, but they would not be 100%. When hiring a service, particularly his, ask about 1-inch pavers and any problems that can occur once they are installed.

At first, I was just going to get an estimate and wait to do this project however, after seeing what difference pavers would make, I decided to take the plunge. The installers arrived at 11:00 and were finished by 2:00. In three hours my front patio and walkway were completely transformed from dull and dreary to bright and happy. Before the installation, I never had the inclination to spend time on the patio. After, I want to buy patio furniture so I can spend quality time enjoying that part of the house. Continuing the pavers to the walkway has increased the curb appeal tenfold.

They were fair, the price was just too high for what I wanted to do. They were fine, they were great.

Bottom line... he wouldn't do business with a woman, and he lost out......Anything wet Pools and Spas did a great job and they never even saw my husband.

Brian Ross, the owner, drove an hour up to Palm Beach County to give us an estimate on April 24th. He came prepared with photos and sample stones. Brian suggested the travertine and also gave us the idea of making a path from the patio to our shed - something we never thought of before. We chose the French design (5 stones of different sizes) and the travertine stone that had gold and red tones. May 7th the stone was delivered and on May 8th a crew of 5 finished the job in one day! They were steady, hard workers and willingly made the few changes we suggested. Brian was present for the first few hours of the work to make sure everything was progressing correctly. We are very pleased with how the patio turned out. The travertine stones are beautiful, each one having a different veining pattern. I pointed out to Brian one I particularly liked and he said my husband and I would each end up having a "favorite" stone! We are happy to recommend Ross Services.

Price quote was about 40% higher than the contractor I selected.

The workers were very professional and worked hard for several days. I was impressed with their diligence and expertise. The final result was MAGNIFICENT!!!It has completely changed for the better the appearance of the front of our house. Truly, they did a terrific job, and we are very grateful. We did have one VERY MINOR problem at the end of the process: A couple of tiles at the entrance to our house got broken when the asphalt was removed, and Ross could not locate tiles with the same color to replace them. Instead, they used painted concrete, but it did not match well. Despite assurances from Joel that it would be taken care of, no correction took place promptly. After two weeks I had it taken care of by someone else. Now, this little difficulty represented less than 1% of the job. And since their expertise was in driveway construction, not tile replacement, and in view of the GREAT way the driveway turned out, I wish to emphasize that Ross did do a wonderful job, and I recommend them highly.

I called 3 "A" rated companies on Angie's List. One had an answering service that scheduled a visit too far in advance, the second one never called back, and the 3rd one, which was Ross Services called me back promptly. Brian, the owner, met with me the following day. He came well prepared with his portfolio and samples. Because it was difficult to match the existing pavers, Brian offered ideas for directions we can go. He was open to my ideas as well as my wife's and came off very accommodating to our designs. The job was started 2 days later and the crew was punctual. To my amazement, the work was completed in about 4 1/2 hours and all debris was removed. It was a pleasure working with Brian. Even though this was a small job, he treated me as if I was his largest customer. I didn't get competitive bids, but the price seemed to be reasonable and within my budget. Finally, the job came out beautifully and as designed. I certainly would contract with this company again, it's a business card worth keeping.

Overall it went well. We are VERY pleased with the final product! I called Brian, the owner, on a Thur. or Friday and had an estimate by that Saturday. The rep, Joel, was very friendly and knowledgeable. He provided proof of licenses, insurance, and samples for the pool deck. We chose Euro-tile since our decking was already concrete, it's a very durable product, and an affordable upgrade without breaking the bank! The installer. Ram, contacted me the same day I signed the contract (that Saturday) to set up a time to come out for an initial visit. He came Monday when I got off work, explained the install process, discussed options, answered my questions, and left me with a color chart to review for color choices. The following day he came back to pressure clean and prep the deck for the overlay. Since South Florida's weather is so unpredictable we had to wait a few days due to overcast, however, it took about a week for the install otherwise It would have been done in 3 days. I am EXTREMELY pleased. The installers were VERY professional, neat, and kept me in the loop during the entire process. They did a sample coloring to make sure I approved before doing the entire deck. They also put Euro-tile on the concrete patio to match the pool deck! It wasn't until after they left I noticed they even colored the lid for the skimmer so it blends with the deck! Now that's being detailed. Oh and they left us sealant to enhance other areas near our pool. We have some plain concrete pavers around our pool equipment that has to be cleaned first. (It wasn't accessible for sealing when they did the decking.) I must note I gave them a B rating (Good) for pricing because we expressed a concern regarding the estimate not being as competitive as we expected. However Joel did not hesitate to discuss further with my fiance and I. He returned our calls immediately and made necessary adjustments. I felt he was more concerned about us being satisfied with their service and pricing than just making a dollar. Ross Services has proved to be a reputable company.. with that being said we will definitely hire them again.

Overall we had a great experience and very happy with the results... The owner is a man of his word and insists that if anything comes up, let him know and he'll take care of it.

Joel called me the same day I called him and he made an appt. to see the scope of the work I wanted. He went over all the different options of stamped concrete designs and colors. Once we made our decision the work started as soon as the permit was ready. The crew that came out was very prompt and professional. Angel was great to deal with, I had forgotten about a fence post that needed to be removed for the concrete and Angel took care of that without a problem. We just love our new driveway, and all the walk throughs. I can't say enough about Ross Services. Joel and Angel are a great team and I would highly recommend them for any stamped concrete work!!

They say they do Concrete Repair... They don't do repair acording to the man who answered the phone... SO dont' put it in your ad...

The first time I ordered for the driveway to be built, it came out decent with some flaws. I contacted Brian and he took it upon himself to send another team to do the job. They came to replace the pavers that were damaged by either cement or that came stained from stock. I appreciated the no-cost services they provided, they performed a pressurized water cleaning and resealed the driveway. Though, most importantly, they came and fixed the entrance to my house where there is a conjunction of travertino marble with the new pavers. It was an excellent and fast job done by a professional crew of Brazilian workers. I reconsidered my first review and I really would recommend this company to my neighbors in case they need a new driveway.

Overall, my experience with this company was mixed, primarily based on the night and day difference between the owner and his foreman. The owner, Joel, the owner, is a good man. Nay, however, the foreman, is an a**. Price was fair, about midway between Celtic and SNS. Joel was also nice enough to comp a couple of small additions to the job after work had begun. In terms of professionalism, I have only good things to say about the owner. He always answered his phone or called right back. His work crew showed up when he said they would. He addressed all of my concerns and questions and was easy to work with. Unfortunately, because they have multiple jobs going on, Joel can not be on site as often as he would like. Thus he sends Nay. Nay, his foreman is a whole other story. When this guy was on site which was seldom, he spent 90% of his time making personal calls, literally chit chatting with whomever. There were times when I would stand there 5 minutes or more clearly waiting to ask him a question and he would look at me and just keep on chatting. On the rare occasion that I was able to get in a question, he was unbelievably dismissive and glib. The guys finished the patio quickly, but forgot the play sand to finish it, so they shoveled some dirt/sand from my front yard, tossed it on and washed it over to lock the pavers in place. Then, while waiting 5 weeks for the driveway permit, the patio seams filled with weed seeds which are now sprouting fescue. Called Joel and he said he would have his guy pressure wash the seams and finish it with play sand. Nay came over rinsed it off with hose water, sanded it and advised me to seal it, even though it's still growing fescue. They left a pallet of 140 pavers from the patio in my back yard for 3 weeks. Had to call Joel 3 times and tell him to move it. Nay came over and said they'll move it when they do the driveway. Told Nay that the permit for the driveway wouldn't be in for another 3 weeks according to Joel, so he argued with me and left. They borrowed my framing square and never returned it. Told Joel twice and I'm confident that he called Nay twice. Still, don't have it. It's not the value of the square, it's the principal. They cut through the water line to the house when excavating the driveway. This was not their fault as it was only buried 6 inches deep. Jerry, the other foreman, noticed the existing line was not designed to be used for a main water line. They replaced it with the proper line. Jerry offered to trace the ine to the house( about 25 feet away and would have taken 15 minutes). Nay told him no, that it wasnt their responsibility, and spent the next 15 minutes talking to his girlfriend on the phone. Today, still have a pile of road rock in my front yard, which I've called Joel about twice. I'm guessing he has called Nay twice and told him to pick it up. Bottom line, price is reasonable, Joel is easy to work with and very responsive, his work crew, especially Gilbert are great, Jerry, the foreman who didn't do my job, but seems like a nice guy. Unfortunately, however, with nay as foreman they go from an A to a C.
