Ross Services

We contracted with Ross Services to re-do our white concrete driveway and add a small extension to it. We settled on a euro-tile overlay with a random stone design to it. The contract also included installing walkway pavers down one-side of the house. The work completed was excellent and the work crews cleaned up very well each day. The driveway is beautiful and we've had many compliments on it from our neighbors. The price, although a little high, did result in a very good product. Since this should last for several years, we do not regret the amount paid of $7200. Overall it went well. HOWEVER: Start up was frustrating. Weather delays aside, there is a punctuality issue with the work crews that needs to be addressed by the company. I had to initiate multiple requests for start days, next set of work days scheduled, etc. There were instances where the crew simply did not show up as scheduled, causing frustration and lost days waiting at home on our part. I believe this persistent problem is due to over-scheduling of work to be done, but in order to maintain good customer relations and word of mouth, Ross Services MUST address the punctuality issue with it's customers. At the very least, advise the customer that a planned work day is no longer feasible rather than have no communication and no one show up. The customer might not like it, but they will certainly be VERY irritated if they lose a day waiting for a crew that was never going to show. In summary: The work was excellent quality. The crews knew their business. The company MUST address customer relationships with regard to communication and punctuality.

They were phenomenal. We got a number of estimates - the were not the cheapest, but they were definitely worth the money. They did exactly what I asked for and pretty much let me design it. I would definitely use them again.

Ross services setup my back patio within a couple of days. Brian was very responsive and knew exactly how to get the job done. My wife and I are very happy with the outcome. There were a couple of issues after the job was completed and Brian immediately handled it with professionalism by making sure we were satisfied with his work.

They did a great job and I would defiantly use them again. Scott did our estimate and always kept us informed. He even sent me pictures while deployed in Afghanistan. Thanks Scott!!

I contacted Ross Service by phone and the receptionist was rude and not very professional. When I asked about their ability to provide the services needed I was told that a technician would call me back and that she was just the receptionist. I asked when they would contact me and she said that they will call me but would not give any indication of when or what day. I asked if she was just an answering service and she stated no, that she worked for the company. I was concerned that if I can't get through to a person that can do more than just answer a phone and that I would have to have to be response to their timeframe, what kind of service would they actually provide and if I had problems how responsive would they be. When I again asked her when I would receive a call back, as a customer I would expect to know approximately when I would hear back from them, she thanked me for calling and abruptly hung up ? just plain rude.

We had bids to resurface our pool from six different contractors. We selected Ross Services for several reasons: Multiple excellent feedbacks from Angie?s List, competitive price, and 0% finance for 12 months. We were not disappointed. This company was a family affair from the get-go. Owner Brian personally came out to our home for provide the initial quote. Son Michael came to our home to display different tiles to choose from. And son Greg coordinated the work for three days from drain to fill. After work began, an issue came up that was not included in the initial quote. A structural crack needed to be addressed. Six staples were required to ensure the integrity of the area and Greg split the cost in half with us; an extremely reasonable $350 for us to have this work done prior to the resurface. After the pool was drained, day one was bonding, day two was tiling (great job Brain), and day three was the application of the new pool surface and refilling. One of the workers even came back to ensure the proper addition of chemicals. Pool was done Friday, filled by Sunday evening, and with chemicals added today (Monday) is shining brightly blue. Greg provided me with explicit directions on how to maintain the pool for the first month to ensure the best results for bringing the Miami Blue aggregate out of the resurfaced mixture. We could not be happier with Ross Services for all their work. Their workers were knowledgeable and proficient at their craft and left our place looking great.

For 15 years the side walkway of my house, and the back patio has been an eyesore. I really had no idea of what to do with it. So sick of looking at it, I called Ross Services. He met me early Saturday morning and made sense of the situation. He gave me a very reasonable estimate. He said some time next week he would come out and do the job but would call first. He called on Friday to let me know materials would be dropped off Monday. When I got home Monday evening, I had a beautiful walk way and back patio. Brian has an extremely effective crew that does top notch work. I was amazed the job was done by the time I got home. The price was extremely reasonable. What I got for my money was far greater than I thought possible. I will definitely recommend him to friends and family.

Asked about price of renovating our pool. we needed so see if we could get a sat apt. to meet them, I was told that they would not come on a sat. bec they were the best, had the most competetive prices and that there was no reason to waste their time coming over. Hmmmm, great business plan, you have 0 competition out there, so let's start by being rude to the cust. Hope you have a ton of other cust. I don't think they realize, your best sales person is the cust. guess what I tell my neightbors?

What does it take for a pool company to receive a grade of A++? It takes a GREAT OWNER, a hard working, dedicated and professional crew, and a company that truly cares about their customers!! My husband and I had consulted with three (3) other pool companies before choosing Ross Services. Just meeting and getting to know Brian Ross made us realize that he was the RIGHT man to do our job. How many contractors invite a customer into their home? When we were unsure as to the color selections for the pool, tile and stone, Brian did not hesitate inviting us to see his pool and deck. When we chose another pool color which was less expensive, how many companies would advise you that you would be receiving a refund during the project? We also received an additional refund for the LED light we purchased because our original LED lights worked. As you can see, Brian Ross is a very HONEST and caring man. Brian's main concern is not that his customer is just happy with the outcome, but is THRILLED with the outcome!! He will do whatever it takes to do the right thing and rectify any concerns that you might have. The entire project was done by a hard working, professional crew. They never took a break until the work was done and everything was cleaned up. ARE WE HAPPY WITH OUR POOL AND TRAVERTINE DECK? ABSOLUTELY 100% As with any major job there are issues that need "tweaking". Ross Services stands behind their work 100%. Even though our job was PAID IN FULL one month ago, Brian Ross still answers his phone and comes out to the home where he guarantees his work. We had mildew/moisture issues with our travertine stone. Brian contacted a company and PAID for our stone to be pressure cleaned. We then personally paid to seal the deck to prevent further mildew and to enhance the beauty of the gold travertine stone. In addition, cement was NOT poured on one side of the gated entrances of our pool deck. This created a washout and a hole under our deck. Again, Brian came to the rescue and PAID the same company that pressure cleaned to finish off our deck entrances using additional travertine stone. It looks gorgeous!! WE LOVE OUR POOL AND POOL DECK and it is gratifying to know that if any situation arises Ross Services will be there for their customers!!

Everything went very well. Brian came to see us and was very knowledgable and informative. He showed us samples of various pavers and pictures of previous work that he had completed as well as answering all of our questions and giving us advice. He started the work when he said he would and completed the work in a timely, efficient manner. The finished project looks beautifil and we were very satisfied with the results. I will call him again if I need work done in the future.. I have recomended him to my neighbors.

Started out fine. They were responsive and came and provided an estimate. I am still unclear on how exactly they operate without Worker's Comp Insurance. They appear to sub-contract out the work but the subs don't have workers comp insurance either. The ad in the Home Mag clearly states no deposit required - pay when complete. However, they asked for a deposit when the contract was being signed. They did not communicate effectively when they were going to start. I came home one day and saw a hose coming to the front of the house and the pool was being drained. They never told me they were coming. That evening my pump started to make noise. I realized they never turned the timer to the pump off when they started the drain process. Thankfully i was home otherwise there might have been damage to the pump for running overnight with no water. They also left the pool gate open (multiple times). I have a 3 year child and was very upset with this. They continued to show up unannounced. They broke my screen door (still broken), a toy boat (inexpensive but not the point) for my child and shifted the gate to the chain-link fence (likely by banging something against it similar to the screen door. The person i was dealing with said he would send someone to fix the screen door but never did. The sub-contractors they used made a complete mess. There was and still is Marquis plaster in many places on my pool coping and chattahoochee. They used my hoses and left them scattered around the pool area. They left their clothes and socks scattered around my pool area and hanging on the fence for several days (never picked up the socks). They moved my patio furniture around and sat on the chairs (which is ok if they didn't mess them up) and got plaster on my chairs and made a mess on my glass table. I told them not to come to my house unannounced as i was not comfortable with strangers just walking into my backyard. After the pool was refilled i went to get the water tested and filled all the appropriate chemicals. The sub-contractors came again unannounced and put acid in the pool (for no reason at all since they clearly stated they were not responsible for the water chemistry) when it was already added. I had the water tested and had to spend additional amounts to reduce the acidity. I left messages for the company and they no longer return my calls. The advertising for their $1,990 pool resurfacing deal was somewhat misleading to me. This option is basically for white plaster. If you want even a semblance of blue (which is suspect most people would want) the price jumps to $2,350.

I called Greg on Sunday morning and he came over that day to give us a quote. His price was better than anyone else we spoke to. We signed the contract that day he had his guys there the very next Tuesday. We had diamond bright done to the pool, our patio was repaved, and we had a salt water system installed. Everything was completed by the end of the week. I highly recommend this company!!!!

The response for bid request was prompt as was the request for a down payment. Follow through with permit application process etc. was drawn out with updates only after I requested. At the end of that process I was informed I was to post a refundable $2,500 surety bond which was a total surprise to me. This is apparently typical with our building department; however, I don't like $2,500 surprises and would have appreciated a forward notice by the contractor. We failed the first inspection on the concrete forms and I was told the inspector was being unreasonable and not responsive to requests for information. I purchased 2x8 planks to construct a bridge over the excavated area so as to afford egress to and from our home. After what seemed to be a prolonged delay we were passed and allowed to pour concrete. The contractor started hounding me for the balance due on the job the following day. I responded with a partial as we did not have a final inspection. We again failed inspection as there were no expansion joints every 20 feet as required by code. This seemed to come as a surprise to the contractor. I photographed the "Correction Required" form dated, signed and left by the inspector and e-mailed it to the contractor but he was in denial as it was not posted to the City's building inspections website. More delay. Finally passed the final. Called the city to get a refund of my surety bond and was told it would be one month as we have to pass a post final inspection inspection. This is not the contractor's fault; however, one would think if he does business within the city he would know.

The minute this guy arrived he was up slowing me to a stone pool deck. I told him 3TIMES I was not interested. He kept insisting and showed me samples of the cultured marble which by the way is slippery as h*** when wet. >When I told him I wanted spray deck, you could see the disappointment on his face! I mean who is the customer?! I asked for a quote for both the spray deck and stone dek to compare te ric. Ths jerk eyeballs my patio guesses the size and writes a price of $8000.00 on the back of his card. I ask I'm what is this? He told me t was the price fr the stone deck. DO NOT WASTE your time with this loser that wanted to up sell me for higher profit job than what I really wanted. I am a 50 year old very successful business owner who definitely knows what zi would like as my patio deck.

Brian is excellent and a true professional. He does whatever it takes to make the customer happy.

From the first meeting, everything was handled very professionally. They kept to their estimate, even when a mornings work was washed away by an unexpected rainstorm. They suggested we darken our color scheme, showed us how they both looked on our own driveway, and their recommendation was much better. It was more expensive than I expected, but I chose them because of Angie's List and they did a great job.

Btrian called us back right away, scheduled an appointment for an estimate, showed up right on time. He spent a considerable amount of time discussing and explaining materials and proceduires and the processes of resurfacing the pool and the various decking materials. he was also very helpful in assisting us with making a final selection on the pool decking. The quote we received was very competitive compared to several other estimates we had received. When it came time to start the job, the crew showed up as scheduled, and did the job exactly as planned. Brian stayed in contact with us during the job and was always available if we had any concerns or questions. The pool and deck look great.

Brian Ross came promptly to give us his estimate, brought along his credentials, references, photos of his work and samples. When he was hired he only required a minimal deposit and told us the work would commence in two weeks. He started the job as promised and finished in one day.! His foreman Carlos and crew did a fantastic job, All were courteous and professional. Brian even contacted us after the work was done to thank us and make sure we were completely satisfied. It was very refreshing to do business with Ross and he exceeded our expectations! Cathy and Bob Douglas

The owner was fast to respond to my call for a quote and immediately set a time that worked for us since my husband and I both work late to come and look at the porch. He had pictures/samples and we were able to choose from those. The work was completed the next week. Very happy to have a porch that won't fill up with water as it did before since the ground around it was higher than the existing concrete pad.

The first problem was that the permit for this job took 3 months to get and the contractor kept blaming the city while I continued to log on to the city website and track how many denials there were and what corrections needed to be made to the specs. The patio contractor showed up and did the job first after signing the contract and he spilled little drops of paint on the patio and when we asked him to fix it he said that was normal. After a week we spilled something on the patio and cleaned it with bleach and it stripped all the paint off that section and to this date they have not come back and fixed it. The problem with this company isn't really with the contractors they use, it is with Ross Services who failed to communicate with the customer as to the progress and when our salesman had a health problem that sidelined him for several months, nobody had contacted me to let me know of the problem and when I finally called the owner, he said that there were other bigger concrete jobs that had to be done before mine, but meanwhile my permit seemed to stay in limbo with no response on the denials for quite some time. I would never recommend them because as a customer, I like to be informed about what is going on, when things are going to happen and then follow up with the company as the job is being done to ensure that we are satisfied. I had to deal more with the contractors that this company uses more than I did with Ross Services. I sometimes wondered, which company was I paying?

Scott gave us a competitive estimate, pulled the permit and took care of all the details. Though there were some changes to the job, Scott honored the price we agreed upon. The quality of the work was great. I would use them again without reservation.

The patio looks like new, The deck was originally done over 15 years ago and had faded, cracked and lifted in places around the pool and my front walk. The area in my screen room was faded and had mildew in spots. The outside area had to be grinded down and smoothed out. The screen room area just had to be cleaned and repainted. They were able to start the job immediately and even with all the rain, the job was completed in less then 8 days. The workers were courteous and very conscientious about the coloring of the finish. They cleaned up completely as this was a messy job due to all the chipping and grinding. I am thrilled with my "new" patio and deck.

Overall I was happy and Scott was responsive.

Ross Services is an A-1 outfit. Unlike other Pool services, who did not respond for a request to provide an estimate promptly or could not set an appointment for weeks, Ross Services called me back in less than 10 minutes. The person who answered the phone was the owner and father of a family owned and operated business. When I told him what I needed, he proceeded to tell me that a person will contact me to set up an appointment. The person, Craig, called me within the hour and came to my house that day. He was very professional, explained what services his company provides, showed me the company licenses and took a look at my pool and gave me a very fair estimate. It turned out that he was the owner's son. I did not hesitate to say to begin the job. That evening, Craig called me back to say that his men would arrive to begin to drain my pool. The whole job was completed in three days as promised. The pool looks great as well as the the things that needed fixing. I am very happy with Ross Services and will highly recommend them. They were fabulous. They were punctual, they backed up their services and they kept you in the loop. Their workmanship was very professional. They were neat and they cleaned up. They came back when they said they would and were very polite and respectful of my property. If I had any problems they came out immediately. He was always available by cell phone.
